Thank you for your honest feedback. It is very much appreciated.

You can see a view of all recent projects in your feed, linked in the top nav or here: https://www.instructables.com/feed/?filter=recent-- just make sure you're subscribed to the channels and authors you're interested in: https://www.instructables.com/feed/customize/

We will be keeping a close eye on how these changes affect the community and tweaking the new design as appropriate. During this process we always consider member suggestions.

This only shows the recent that are attached to your "feed." To see all recents one would have to subscribe to everything, which is bothersome and clunky.

To have to subscribe to 205 (!!) channels is not really a solution to get back the basic "Whats new on the page?", no?

Hi,
.
I view the recent additions on a near daily basis, either on a phone or a tablet and since I wanted to comment on an instructable, I logged in on my PC (as this is the only place I log in), only to spend more than an hour, trying to find the one, not knowing in which category it was posted.
..
Luckily, the Android app still can show recent in all its glory, but why would I need to subscripe to all categories to see all recent projects?
..
Please let each persons mind do the filtering, the recent (ALL) is interesting, while the "Featured" only contains stuff that a small bunch of people found good and selected to be good taste to us all - This is not 1984 (I hope), so please let us all decide what we wanna look at - A thought police (read; moderators selecting) will just drive people away - at least me.
.
Have a nice day and please spend it on making instruictables usable again :)

For what it's worth, I liked the old website much better.

As I wrote and described in https://www.instructables.com/circuits/community/R..., I also wish for the return of the "instructables.com/recent" option allowing to see *all* recent instructables.

Having to log in, open multiple tabs / have multiple bookmarks or any such workarounds are bothersome when the functionality already existed and worked quite well. I see this as a downgrade instead of any sort of upgrade, and one which makes me reconsider having instructables amongst the sites I check virtually daily.
For other readers, as far as I can see it there are currently three different threads on the same topic, including this one here:
https://www.instructables.com/circuits/community/L...
https://www.instructables.com/circuits/community/R...
https://www.instructables.com/outside/community/Si...

In short please consider reenabling this functionality.

I agree the site is becoming pointless. We are being told what we can look at.
I love this site but every time there is an up date it dies a bit more.
It is/was one of the best sites in the world to shear and learn new skills, pass on knowledge
I've been a member since 2008. I'm so disappointed..

There is still a RECENT button, but just showing a single topic like circuits or cooking.
We want the RECENT button for all topics back. Please bring it back! Thank you!

I come to this site several times a week and the RECENT option gave me the ability to see the new items that had been posted since I last visited. Please restore the RECENT option. It would also be be helpful to display the sort date that is used to determine the sequence of each item. Displaying the date would make it easier to know when I have reached the items I have already review. In the past I've hand to remember every item that I have already seen and my memory is not that good anymore.

They have not removed the "recent" option from categories...but they have changed things enough to where you have to really dig to get to it. You have either go to one of the subcategories (like the "Beauty" under Living) or add "/recent" to the URL.

Overall, this will likely decrease viewership of non-featured instructables. They simply won't be seen as much because quite often people simply won't know they're there.
