Should I post? (Well, not exactly) Answered

So, this really isn't whether or not I should post an iBle, but rather how many of you are interested in it. I'm using the saltwater etch tutorials here and am going to etch my iPod shuffle (2nd generation). The etch will say "iMake" and if all goes right, I should begin to etch sometime today or tomorrow. So, I'll try to take quality pictures and all, and if anyone happens to have any tips for me, they would be appreciated! ;-) Thanks!

I think he mis-read "iBle".

When did it develop the upper-case B? What does that annoying little i stand for in things like iPod, anyway?

Is it another part of yoof culture that has passed me by?

Yes, ye ol' coot.

When did it develop the upper-case B?

All I know is that Nacho started it.

Ah, here it is: Clicky
And here is what it means: Clicky

So, what do you think about my future iBle?

I'm looking forward to it, especially if it has other applications besides iPods - would it be usable (usiBle?) on any aluminium surface? (Could you spawn a new art-form of etched Coke cans?)

You have just given new life to a previously doomed iBle. Thanks! The iBle should come up around the second week of November, depending on how soon I complete my H'Ween iBle.

You're welcome. Apparently it's an execution of my First Law... (We need to keep an eye on Nacho, he starts all sorts of trouble...)

ZKM = Zachninme-Kiteman Model:
Very similar to Kiteman's Laws, but they have different wording, and are in a different order.

. Inner caps have been around for at least 20-30 years. I couldn't find (easily) anything on when it became popular. hmmmmm Can't find an entry for "inner caps" on Wikipedia. My personal theory is that it started as a marketing gimmick. . I use iBles to refer to the pages that have instructions and IBles/Ibles to refer to the site. But that's just me and I'm definitely not a yoof and don't have any culture to speak of. :)

Can't find an entry for "inner caps" on Wikipedia.

That's because it is InterCaps (see my post below).

. Thanks! I knew something didn't sound right about "inner cap", but it did turn up a bunch of hits. I'll blame it on a brain fart - I spelled it right previously. . I was in a hurry and didn't scroll down far enough to catch your msg before I posted - mea culpa. . You seem be be a very good researcher.

I remember small things. Like from my childhood (toddler age), I don't remember some of the more important things, yet I remember myself (3rd person view) in blue jean overalls, with red and white horizontally striped shirt underneath, holding a sippy cup in my left hand, my right hand on my patio door, watching my male family members lay concrete for our patio. But yeah, I'm good at researching, just not for school!

When the insurance company I had worked for branched out, they called the branch IBS (bad move giving it the initials of "irritable bowl syndrome" in my opinion) but anyway, they later added the little i to the end of it and we were told at the time, that it had no real meaning, it just looked cool *shrug*
