The Fortus 450mc FDM 3D Printer is a fused deposition modeling printer with a large heated build chamber. The Fortus is capable of printing in several materials and is useful for prototyping a variety of parts.

Autodesk Technology Center San Francisco is a hub for research, development, and demonstration of new manufacturing technologies and workflows relating to configurable microfactories.

An overview of the basic operations of the Fortus, including safety and approved materials.

Lesson 2: Initializing the Print Job

Loading your model into the Insight 3D print software and configuring the modeler.

Lesson 3: Printing Style, Orientation and Slicing

Different print and support settings are right for different types of models. This lesson will teach you how to navigate the print software to choose the best settings and create toolpaths.

Lesson 4: Preparing the Printer

Send your job to the control center software and prepare the build chamber of the printer before starting your job.
