Henry .22

Hello, folks! I have been thinking about buying a Henry lever action .22 rifle, and I was wondering if any of you guys have owned any Henry products, and if you have, what did you think of them? I would appreciate any feedback. :D

Primed .22 cases?

Would the primer go off on a .22 case that has had the bullet and powder removed if you shot it with a 900 fps .177 lead pellet? Also, would it go off if shot from a slingshot at a brick wall.

Ramset .22 Caliber ?

I've just walked by Home depot today and I saw these things that looked a lot like ammo, I took a look at it, it said "Ramset .22 Cal, Keep away from childreen, heat ,shock, etc, etc, etc, somthing about powder tools. Apppearantly it was for a nailer. So I just just had a question, how do you use it, and can it be used in firearms (such as a zip gun) that accepts .22 caliber cartriges?

2 to the 2 to the 22 power

I recently took the pamel (pennsylvania math league test thing) and for one of the questions it said: rearrange the numbers 2 in anyway with mathmatical symbols to get the highest number possible. I though the answer was 2 to the 222 power The answer was 2 to the 2 to the 22 power Is this correct? I thought that you would multiply the powers to get 2 to the 44 power, now have the power to the power and get 2 to the 4194304 power.

George Carlin - 06/22/08

For those that are familiar with him and his comedy: Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, went into St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later that evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. He had performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas. He was 71....More on Carlin...

Site Updates: 1/22/2018

Greetings! I'd like to give everybody heads up about some big changes happening on Tuesday (1/23) at 9AM (PST). First off, the Instructables pages are getting a major update. Aside from a sparkly new look, they will now have a section for Questions and Tips. This will provide a place to ask questions when you get stuck, or provide a tip for doing a project better. Secondly, the Community pages (i.e. these forums) are getting a very long-needed makeover. Finally, we are updating our search software, which should improve search results on our site in general. These changes will require a period of downtime on the site of about half an hour. Please check @Instructables on Twitter for updates. Stay tuned for more great changes to come in 2018!

I built a gun.

Over the summer, I designed and built an extremely simple single-shot .22 pistol. Below is a video showing all of the parts and the first shots fired. I did this as a design exercise and to see how hard it would be to build a reliable firearm, going from idea to 3D model to working prototype in about three weeks. So far I've fired over 200 rounds with 0 malfunctions, however some parts still need to be heat treated and I need to apply a finish and maybe add some sights. When it's completely finished, I'll port my blog posts into an instructable.

Generate 22-30 volts from 12

I need to generate a voltage between 22 and 30 (for vfd tubes) from 12 volts (DC). It also has to have a minimum current output of 60mA (really 54, but I like to have some leeway). I really want to use something without an inductor (charge pump?) because I'm also driving nixies in the same area and I already have a lot going on. I would love to have something similar to the ICL7662 (essentially a voltage doubler, only uses a chip, 2 caps, and 2 diodes), but as far as I can tell it can't deliver enough power. I can't find any chip that's what I want... Help?

The Fort Contest is starting on Monday, 7/22

I'm so excited to announce our first ever Fort Contest! I don't know about you guys, but I am excellent at building forts. I'm better at the blanket kind than the sticks-and-plywood kind, but I love building both! Even though I'm nearly 30, I'll still build one if given a chance. And this is that chance! Time to break out your best blankets or building-with-scrap-wood-skills and make a FANTASTIC FORT! Plus, mikeasaurus has chosen some amazing prizes - we've got a grand prize for both indoor and outdoor forts and enough prizes for five runner up winners. I love these prize packs and I would like to have one of each. :D Check out the official contest page for more information! Remember that the contest is open 7/22 - 9/16 so instructables posted before or after are not eligible.

What air rifle is this?

Okay. Went to Big 5 Sporting Goods today and picked up an air rifle for 90 bucks. The box says "RS1 Air Rifle Combo", combo meaning scoped, however there is no indication on the box of a second barrel, which should be included to be able to shoot .22 pellets as well as .177. However, once I unboxed, I looked at the receiver and engraved in is "Sportsman RS2 Series", which should be a different rifle, which should also have a second barrel. The second barrel was not there. The manufacturer is Beeman. Can anyone tell me whats up with this?

Trying to use relays with a electronic momentary to latching converter. Relays are tripping the latching converter?

I am trying to use this devise,   to turn on a relay attached to a positive wire from a blinker can that sends the signal to the corresponding light. I have two in parallel so I can turn on and off a LH and a RH light with a momentary switch. (can't use a regular on off switch). It works perfectly when attached to its own power supply. I am using this in on a 12 volt system that has some other relays running various things in the system. when I hook this into the system, even directly from the battery, activating the other relays turns the relays on attached to this devise. I suspect it to be noise since it works great on its own power supply. I Tried running the power lead through a resistor and capacitor to help isolate the loop but didn't work. This is stretching my understanding of electricity. What I think I am looking for is how to wire this to isolate it's power +/- circuit from the rest of the system. Otherwise suggestions on how to trouble shoot. I know it is best to add a diagram but I don't know how to make one.

MONSTER K'nex Grenade updated 10-22-12

10-22-12 I decided the black ball sockets that were mounted onto the grenade body were a waste so the first picture is the updated grenade. With this mod the grenade is even more solid than ever so don't be afraid of losing valuable pieces when thrown. The grenade is yet to break on me and the bright yellow pins that fly off are easy to find even outside. I believe that this is the best grenade to use for any outdoor war. I'm sure a better grenade could potentially be made for indoor use with more shrapnel but I've gotta say when this grenade goes off it hits hard. I hope you all enjoy building and using this grenade let me know what you think. Be sure to post pictures and videos showing off the grenade in use! see it for yourself here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwBN-s8w5uU
