I just downloaded the new BackTrack distro from Offensive-Security (BackTrack 3 Beta). It's interesting. It has a lot more graphics than 2, and it looks like the computers that all of the "hackers" use in the movies. I don't know if that's cool, or a bad thing. Has anyone else tried BackTrack, and if so what do you guys think about it?

I've got a 3-month pro membership coupon to give away. I paid for 2 years, so I don't need it right now. So - make your pitches. Offer concluded at the weekend: Uh, I got another, so I made a 0.5s snap-decision, and gave it to Michel. ?! I didn't care what the reasoning was, but remember that I'm old and have a warped-sense of humour. L

Please provide details, and a schematic if possible. Many people over on Sparkfun are asking but nobody seems to be able to get it to work using the manufacturer's datasheet. My personal results end up with the Arduino only reading between 850 and 1023 instead of full range of about 160 to 1023??

I got an old industrial sewing machine cheap. Cheap because it has a 3-phase motor, which made some other hobbyists reject it. The other option at ~150$cdn would be to replace the motor with something more domestic.

I've heard this idea before, but Adrian reminded me again today. Why not have an instructables restaurant to bring in money? Yeah I know you'll need more employees, a building, advertising, etc... But, its an idea. Use member's recipes on the menu, possibly a small gift shop, if its a single building, and not a chain. Just throwing out ideas.

Iam wondering if I could get two walkie talkies (2 way radios but I prefer calling it walkie talkie) and add two 3.5mm jacks one for ear phones and one for a mic. Using a splitter 3.5mm for the sockets, a 3.5mm mic and a 1m extension for the mic so I can put the walkie talkie in a pocket. Can someone tell me if this will work please and any suggestions for improvements to my plan

I have got a pair of Sony MDR-1R headphones and a pair or Sennheiser MM30i earbuds, both featuring an in-line remote and mic. The question I have is: does anybody know if there are some kind of splitters to split the cable in audio and microphone jacks to plug in my laptop? I'd like to use the mic on the cable, rather than the one built in my computer or, worse, wearing skype headphones just to pick up a call.. Thanks in advance!

I want to power my GameBoy Color using the USB port. It needs 3V ( 2 AA batteries). I found a voltage regulator, that puts out 3V, but it does not seem to be available in Germany. But there are loads of 3.3V regulators. So I wonder, how I could use one of those. Is it possible to simply put a resistor in row (if yes, what value would be suitable?) or is it a bit more complicated?

The following changes you need to know the software upgrade. Get on the first day of Apple's new Macbook, Apple was released iOS8.3 official version to the public. Perhaps this is for those who can't afford to buy a new Macbook and Apple Watch were a consolation prize, iOS8.3 iOS8 as a major change in the iOS8.3 version, there will be some people loaded to force change, perhaps you have in the QQ space, micro-blog, circle of friends, INS, and saw a friend of mine in the a number of iOS8.3 screenshot or surprising it bug, after the upgrade iOS8.3 you should pay attention to what place, where it is changed, then to have a look the PP apple talk. This is a media rarely mentioned, a change is more like the small. Open the compass, you will see it in addition to prompt to rolling spheres, here there is a [Cancel] options, click the cancel you can directly see the use of compass. Apple also gave it a latitude, longitude increasing instructions, and that was where the provinces. Very convenient. The south is also useful to red range identified. You are welcome to discuss.

Just answer the questions: What is the best game to get on a PS3? Any regrets on buying it? ( e.g would of chose a different console, not worth it) Is it backwards compatible with other PS2 games ( if not is there a way to make it?) ? ( Im getting the 40gig - the only model available ) Which console do you think is going to win the next gen war? ( xbox has put up a good battle but the PS3 is picking up speed fast!) Woke up and took a shower. The French couple had left, so it was just Changmi, the Czech couple, and me at the house.I had read the day before that any foreign credit/debit cards will only work at the post office, so that was my first destination this morning. I found what I thought was the nearest post office online, and headed over. My debit card worked, so I took out enough money to last me for a while.Got back to the house, and then went out with Changmi to pick up her friend. On the way to her friends house we stopped off to get some rice balls (onigiri), I picked up a watch at a 99 yen store, and she bought an ice cream bar. After picking up her friend, we all headed back to her house, and she told me they would be filming for a bit, so I headed downtown. I had learned from the Czech couple, that a building in Nagoya Station has a free observation deck, so for the second time I made that my destination. I got to the station, rode up 14 flights of escalators, and took a bunch of pictures. After that I headed over to the osu temple where a local radio station had set up a concert / fair. I stopped to listen to the music for a bit before I checked out an even larger open air market than the one I had seen the day before. After walking around for about an hour or so, I headed back.Back at the house I relaxed in bed for a bit, before Changmi, the Czech dude, and I went to one of her friends bars. Her friends who own the bar have their own band, so we listened to some of their music, the Czech dude played some guitar, we all had some beers, and headed back.*Random note - It is so hot and humid, I decided not to bike around between the cities, because my dehydrated body would be found on the side of the road somewhere. That and the fact that I can get a local (read: non-shinkansen) train to Kyoto for only 25$. Sweet deal.*Random note 2 - They sell fireworks in 7 eleven. How awesome is that.Video of one of the acts at the concert / fair at the temple.

I noticed a slight glow in the light when it was switched off. LED bulbs in a ceiling fan/light fixture. House built in 1905, wired whenever? using all-fabric insulation type wiring but not knob and tube . Removed the load from sw 2 and tested travel wire voltages and got 95 v on one and 25 v on the other. Flip sw 1 and the voltages trade wires along with the switch position change. The switches tested OK but replaced both anyway and got duplicate readings when repeating tests. Isolated the travel wires and got no continuity (infinite resistance) using all scales of an analog meter as well as a Fluke digital multi-meter.. We checked for voltage feedback from another circuit and even used an extension cord to a different circuit in order to use a different ground wire. With the load connected, the travel wire being used shows 120 v but we still get 25 v on the other wire. I discovered this because when I bought the house only sw 2 worked the light, and one travel wire was disconnected at sw 1 and taped off.. I have not opened the ceiling box at the fixture because the problem exists when the wire to it is disconnected. The previous owner said he didn't remember what sw 1 went to because it hadn't worked for many years. So we eliminated worn insulation or nail into the cable because either one would cause a resistance reading below infinity. All we can think of is a legacy doorbell. Neither of us remembers working one, but I know some used 120 volts and a relay. People have told me that relay contacts can cause this problem when they get worn. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm retired on a fixed income and tearing walls open is an absolute last resort. Thank you in advance for any advice I can get!

Just wondering if there are any Sim fans here. I've always liked the sim games, Sim City, Sim Farm, Sim Tower.. you get the idea. When The Sims came out it was only natural to try it and I became hooked. 10 years later and we are now up to Sims 3 and I have all the expansion and stuff packs for Sims, Sims 2 and Sims 3. Currently I'm loving the addition of pets to the mix.

I wanted to sign up for the 3 month renewable subscription which you advertise. Get to pay page & hit 2 year subscription. I do not want a 2 year sunscription! Signed up by mistake; given no choice of other option than 2 year though you advertise otherwise. 2 year costs MORE that quarterly renewable. I do not want two year subscription. I want quarterly or refund !

I have a USB speaker (image attached). These work great off the computer, but now I want to extend these to work with my ipod. I want it to host a 3.5mm input switch for connecting a normal ipod or mp3 player, at the same time still use it my computer when I want to. I tried following this, but it's not exactly what I want. Any ideas ?
