Identifying Sliders and Knobs on circuit board M-audio Axiom 49

Hello there, I broke 4 of my sliders of my M-audio Axiom 49 and bended 5 Precision rotary knobs. I tried to order new parts at M-audio but they discontinued the production of the 1ste generation of M-audio Axiom 49 keyboard controllers and they cannot deliver the goods. So opened this sucker up and just googled Pots B10k and to my amazement I found a website with all these Precision Potentiometers. http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?FS=TRUE&N;=4294759271+16330845+1323043 http://http://www.alibaba.com/catalogs/--400502------------351-4333 I mean 1000, I went looking for what I needed. The only problem is everything looks the same, I don't see any part numbers that could identify the parts on my board. So I was thinking I should ask some one who has and eye for this and is much smarter than me :) Can you help me identify the type of Precision Potentiometers on the boards you see on the pictures I posted.-->(sorry for the bad quality)

DMX - Append

I have a "Dune" mini DMX controller 54 channel's and a Theatrelight 48 channel lighting board. I have seen some plugins that will merge, 2, 3 or even more DMX controllers on a HTP, LTP and Append. They seem very expensive starting at US$500+ I'm in NZ. It is append that I think I want to do. Say the 48 channel are left as 1 to 48 and the 54 channel as 49 to 102. Is there a cheaper DIY way. OR is it possible to just reprogram the Mini to start from chan. 49. I've attached photos of the circuit board.

Math riddle? Answered

My friend asked me this one, I couldn't figure it out but I think the question itself is somehow flawed.Anyway, so here it goes: A kid has to buy a toy of 100 Rupees, he takes Rs.50 from his father and 50 from his mother. Later when he goes to the store he finds that the toy is only 97 rupees, he buys the toy and 3 rupees are left, still with me? Now he goes to his mother and father and out of those 3 rupees gives one rupee to his father, one rupee to his mother and keeps the remaining 1 rupee aside (not for himself). Now here is the question, as he has already given 1 rupee to his mother and father each, he has remaining 49 rupees to pay each one, so, my friend asks that add 49 to 49, 98, and then add to it the remaining 1 rupee he had kept aside, 99. Where did the remaining 1 rupee go? I just can't understand what is he trying to ask, the calculation he just did, I think, has nothing to do with amount the kid has to pay or paid.

mysql matching? Answered

I don't really know how to phrase the question. i'm making a Lotto game in PHP. i have numbers 1 - 100 grouped in lots of 10 (ie. 5-15-25-35-45-55-65-75-85-95) and i want to match them against the "house" numbers (ie. 7-15-22-35-49-55-65-75-85-99) then count how many matches in each group and put that into a column (matches) "USER" 5-15-25-35-45-55-65-75-85-95 vs "HOUSE" 7-15-22-35-49-55-65-75-85-99 = 6 matches. then i can count how many matches to determine "payout" i can do this in excel easily. SQL is harder to do.

Arduino: How do I convert a decimal to ASCII? Answered

I'm following this Instructable which is about communicating between 2 Arduinos with RF modules. The received value is stored in buff[0]  and if this value is "1", a light switches on. However, I was going to experiment with sending values other that 1 or 0 from the other Arduino and first added Serial.println(but[0]) but in the serial monitor, it read 49, which if you treat as a decimal value and convert ASCII, you get "1". Equally, when "0" was sent from the sending Arduino, the monitor read 48, which is decimal of the ASCII value "1". I'm a bit confused as the if-statement below works fine. Basically, I want "1" and "0" to be printed to the serial monitor not 48 and 49. How do I do this? Thanks, theRedBryophyte Serial.println(buf[0]); if(buf[0]=='1'){   //some code here... }

Will a 49MHz transmission work underwater?

I wanted to make it radio controlled and was planning on using a standard 49Mhz RC car circuit connected to the arduino. I don't want to keep the antenna above the water line and was wondering if a 49 MHz would work underwater.  I know higher frequencies like those in Bluetooth don't work underwater.Preview Topic

Do I even need a laptop cooler/cooling fan?

I was actually wondering if my laptop even needs a cooler/cooling fans at all? The max temp. that it goes to (I check with HWMonitor) is 49 - 51 degrees. I've heard new laptops going up to 80 degrees or more. So my laptop is still running 30 degress lower. Should i consider getting a laptop cooler at all? I read a review of the belkin laptop cooling stand and it seems very nice. But, I may not even need one at this temp. Or do I? Please shed some light, someone.

Are you smarter than your elected officials?

A new study found that after giving the ISI civil literacy quiz to over 2000 people, those who held some form of office scored lower on average than those who didn't!Bear in mind it was close, and both were poor: 44% to 49%, yet it's kind of scary to think about! You can take the quiz yourself, and see how well you do. I got a 64%, which isn't great, but I'm apparently in the top 85% of the random sample!I'm curious how some non-Americans will fare. Please don't be embarrassed to post your score, we won't mock you too much...( via )

WTF?!? Caves For Sale On Ebay!

Well, this is big news for cavemen! There are caves for sale on ebay! Click HereCave owner Steve Rush, 49, is auctioning off the Mystic Caverns in the hills of Ozark Mountains on eBay. The 28-acre property in Arkansas includes a gift shop and three caves, two of which are safe enough for visitors. The bidding starts at $899,900 (£568,000), cut from Rush's original asking price of $1.2 million.Rush bought the property near Harrison in 1988 and began giving tours in 1992 to the two accessible caves, Mystic cavern and the Crystal Dome cavern.I found all of this information on metro here: Cave for sale, one careful ownerThis is really amazing, I wonder who is going to win the auction?

Do VOTES have any meaning?

EDIT(8/26/12): Since I posted this many of the contest official rules have included a clear explanation of how user votes are used to determine the finalist.  It most cases it seems 49% of the eligible entries are chosen solely on user votes.  This clears up all the confusion I had based on the previous wording of the rules for contests that are now over.       I recently read a blog post about the Make if Real contest that said that the winners were decided by votes, but I know that is not the case.   I looked at a few of the current and past contests and found out there is no way to view how many votes an instrucable has either during or after a contest, which I read is becasue people were trying to rig the voting.  So if judging is not based on votes and there is no way to know how many votes you got then why do we have the option to vote?  Having a vote button seems misleading.

interest tags on profile (e.g. "sewing") link to empty results pages

This might just be a bad night for the Instructables search function. What I observed: I added tags to my profile for interests ("embroidery, sewing") and saved them. I clicked through the links on my updated profile to what I presume should have been a search results page showing other Instructables users with the same interests: ( https://www.instructables.com/tag/type-user/interests-sewing/ ).  I saw a blank page.  I tried clicking through "embroidery" with the same empty page resulting.  I thought "huh, maybe it's just my profile?"  So I tried clicking through from Rachel's profile with the same results -- a reasonable looking URL in the address bar, but an empty page. Attached is a screenshot of the empty results page 16-June-2010 21:49 Pacific at the URL https://www.instructables.com/tag/type-user/interests-sewing/

BROKEN AGAIN: 'sort=RECENT' does not appear to be working for I'bles or Q&A

The "sort=RECENT" URL modifier does not appear to be functioning properly for either Instructables or for Questions.  Since this is a back-end operation, it should not be browser related (FF, MacOSX 10.5.8).  Nevertheless, I have deleted the affected tabs, cleared cache, and reloaded the pages multiple times. Update 23 May 2013:  As Mikeasaurus and Kiteman report, this problem does appear to be fixed.  A fresh Safari session showed the correct results, although my Firefox session still did not.  I quit and restarted Firefox, logged off of my Instructables session before clearing cache and cookies again, and now both pages are displaying correctly. Update 8 July 2013:  It looks like the mid-day software update today has broken this again.  The screenshots shown below (with the two "too many redirects" dummies missing) are exactly what the pages look like right now (3:49 pm PDT). Here are screenshots showing the page of Instructables and the page of Questions.  Both are were just wrong.

Dirt bike handlebars

Hey everyone, i have a 2003 XR100 four stroke Honda dirt bike and I am on a quest to transform it into a beast hair scrambler trail bike. So far I have decided to add bark busters, one of those bendable hinge shifters, a back sprocket with one less tooth (will be 49), a new front sprocket because the teeth are bent, I need to sharpen the foot pegs and brake peg, a new back tire because the one it has now is bald, and shorten the handlebars. The reason i posted this forum is because i am wondering if anyone can tell me what the best way to shorten the handlebars is. I figure i am going to loosen everything, take it off, measure 4 or 5 inches with a permanent marker, then grind it off, but i dont know how to get the grips off. will i need to buy new ones? any way, if anybody can tell me how to shorten the handlebars, i would be very thankful. also, if anyone thinks i need anything else, could you please mention that too? thanks!

Dutchj's Top Loading Rifle

Well, here's my Top Loading Rifle. I built this for the sake of building something after being inactive for such a long time. The original idea was to make a very solid gun that could be top-loaded with rods, so the pusher would never have to leave the gun, which would make for quicker reloading. That didn't work because rods always pull on and push each other, but I managed to complete it with different ammo. Some may find it to look a bit boxy, and that's because I didn't add anything to the gun that wasn't needed. No long barrel, no wedge-shaped stock, none of those things. The stock is strong enough as it is, and a longer barrel would only decrease the range ( dramatically ). Here's some basic stats:Type: RepeaterAmmo: Grey connector - green rod - orange connector - green rodCapacity: 9 without the pusher leaving the gun at all. otherwise 10, or more with mods.Range: Depends. I haven't tested, but I think it gets pretty average ranges for a repeater.Power: It drew blood at point blank.Reload time: Shorter then other repeaters with fixed magazines because the pusher never leaves the gun.INSTRUCTIONS: http://knexinnovation.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t;=846

Total Views Count 31/03/2011

This forum topic is a printout of the results of a Perl script I run weekly. To be included in it, join this  group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the You page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. I hand out patches as achievements when members of the group reach 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k and 1m views.
