Hi, I am considering a project in creating input buttons to send requests to my iPhone so that on Spotify I can change track forward and back, start and stop the track, and hopefully use spotify SDK to display track name on an LCD screen (not essential). As far as I am aware for this I would need a bluetooth module for Arduino and i already have an LCD screen with combined input buttons (tell me if anything else might be required). I have tried understanding this article - https://davidfindlay.org/weblog/files/2009_09_07_ipod_remote.php - but a lot of the stuff goes over my head because I am a programming/arduino/electronics simpleton/beginner - does anyone know of some simple ways I might be able to send requests to my Iphone to be interpreted by Spotify? Hi, I own an Alcatroz Airwave 300 for 6 months and I have issues with battery. I always use it when I got home from school, doing homeworks, doing household chores, even going out to the public. I always charged it until its full but they only last for 2 1/2 hours. Recently, I noticed that my battery discharges easily. It doesn't last for 5 mins. So I decided to open the headphone where the battery and bluetooth module was installed, then the battery inflated and exploded. I was lucky that i'm not hurt but then I had no money to replace those. The warranty on this thing voided so I got no choice but to replace it. One day, I was looking for a potential replace for my headphones then I found my old nokia. It's display was damaged but the battery is still good. After 6 years of owning it, I can't believe that my Nokia battery still runs good as new. I thought to myself "why not". Also there is another problem, I don't even know how to solder a simple wire. I have the basic equipment so I need your thoughts and advice including how to do it.Note: before the battery exploded. I lost my receipt after I puchased it, without it, then I have no free warranty. Plus these thing were the last of its batch ever sold as a bluetooth portable headphone.

When it comes to communicating with the person on your back seat then often there is no need for a fancy BT headset.Unless of course you are constaly driving on freeways at high speed and love to talk ;)The most annoying thing though is when you want to go for a long ride with a lot of your mates.Some might already have some BT headset, most might not have anything to communicate.Even with just 8 or 10 riders in your group, loosing one is easy.The most advanced headsets now offer functions for automatic pairing when the connection was lost - they come at a price though.Around here there is two problems to face when going for long rides.a) communication range for the riders in the group.b) cellphone coverage is usually non existing when you actually need it.So why not go with something totally different and much cheaper than BT headsets?At highway speeds the range of BT headsets suffers not just from the required safety distance between riders but also from the spped itself.Cheap headsets just crap out all the time, expensive one tend to loose the connections quite often.Wouldn't it be great to have more than the average 800 meters of good sound quality without dropouts?And if you ever tried to have a decent converstation with another at high speeds you already know that even the best BT headsets struggle with the wind noise unless you have a really optimised helmet (and paid a lot for it).The alternative, if we trust all the hype and advertsiements would be to go for the latest generation of headsets out there....Baofeng UV-5 series....This type of UHF/VHF handheld radio has ben around for years.It is not only quite cheap but also able to put a full 4W out.So called battery eliminators to power them directly from a 12V socket (in your car) are cheap as well, but a good battery should last for a few hours.The benefit of these cheap radios however is not that they are so cheap.It is that you can actually program whatever frequency you like for your needs.Of course you should stick to the frequencies and channels that are free and legal to use in your area.The since is about what a pack of smokes is, so no problem to mount it descreetly on your dash or handlebars either.Being a radio there is no need for pairing or making sure you stick to the correct order when doing things.If you want to be "alone" on a channel you can even use celectcall and other option to make sure only those radios with the right callsigns wil open your squelch.Quite nice if you suddenly get into an area where your channel is used by ther people.Ok, a handheld radio might work, but what about the antenna?The UV5 series usually ships with two antennas.A short stubby that is good for about 1-2km - line of sight.And a small external antenna with a magnetic base.On a bigger bike it is often no problem to add a 15x15cm plate behind the seat that the antenna can pop on to.Should only be required if your require a bigger distance though.And why would a UHF radio be any better with the background or wind noise?Biggest problem with these expensive BT headsets is that you need to get really creative if you want to change the speakers or microphone.And options are quite limited here again - either a flexible microphone or a glue on one.Neither is really good once the wind gets too much.For the UV5 series you get so called throat microphones for under 10 bucks.Often advertised as tacticle headsets but for the price nowhere near the quality of a military grade combination.They plug straight into the handheld and come with an external push button that can be used to start a manual transmission.But of course you can automate this on the UV5 as well by selecting the voice activation mode in the menu.Set the level so high that you need a slightly rised voice to start the transmission.(That way not everyone needs to hear you swearing about other drivers if you keep it quite ;) )All up a solution like this will cost you well under $100, with all required extras.For a bit more you can also get UHF radios for helmet use.Basically the same like the handheld option, but smaller, a bit more convient to use and set up but also very limited in range and battery life.

My girlfriend has a Fishman Loudbox Mini amp which has a 3.5mm auxiliary input on the back. She bought a cheapo bluetooth audio receiver that is powered by USB and outputs through its own 3.5mm jack. It works great but it takes up two wall outlets, and drastically reduces the distance it can be from the wall due to a short audio cable. So I need an easier power source for the USB dongle. I had imagined a coupler that would sit between the amp and its power cable. I could frankenstein a USB-wall-outlet connector into this coupler to provide a USB power source close to the aux input. However it may be easier to find a 5V source inside the amp and just add a usb port. I'm not sure, which is why I'm creating this post.

Hey All, I am currently working on a LiPo Battery Adjustable Voltage Battery Pack, that has a headphone amp and bluetooth transmitter built in. I want the user to be able to use any compatible BT Headphones or BT Receiver Dongle. It is for use with metal detectors.  Every time I Google Bluetooth Transmitter Module, I find a bunch. Upon closer inspection, I find they are all receivers (i.e. speaker left out, speaker right out). There are bluetooth dongles that plug into a 3.5mm jack and transmit, but there is a lag in the transmission that I believe stems from the module not being hardwired into the system. A lag in receiving the BEEP means the object is harder to pinpoint, more digging, bigger holes, and frustrated folks. Can anyone recommend a good available BT Transmitter Module that I can hardwire into my system as a test to see if the lag goes away? Any assistance y'all could give would be greatly appreciated! I have a old 1989 payphone bought at auction minus the keys I want to convert the old rotary tone dial to a pulse dial keypad and replace the coin slot to accept new coins and would like to do this without ruining the looks of the phone by having to drill out the locks and trying to find a lock of nearly the same style as they have been superseded by new better locks I purchased the coin slot and keypad from a bt approved company in the midlands but understandably both they and bt will not tell me how I can remove the coins once they are in the box incase I break into new boxes coin vaults even though the locks have changed and phone boxes these days are hardly used except for emergency calls.I am trying to put this phone into an oldie worldie village pub as a gimmick to draw in tourists to a dying pub/restaurant

For years I have been using Bluetooth Receivers such as this Sony : https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0154G9CYY?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title# The problem is they all have built in mic which I don't like, I prefer to use the online mic on my wired earbuds headset. So question is if I were to disassemble the bt receiver device and disconnect the built-in mic would it then let me use the inline mic on my on my earbud headset?

This fingerprint reader module is from hannstar-j  m.b. which I extracted from a old sony laptop (I dont have SN or model no).  This module has weird type of 10 pin socket connector. Hello! Right now the best practice to hunt pokemon is to just walk and if the phone vibrates, you look. Thant means you have to hold the phone in hand.  I had an idea for a DIY, but no way to execute it. Idea is simple: -motor vibrator from old phone -Arduino -BT module -battery Turn all above into a braclet for your hand  I owuld need an app or something that, whenever phone vibrates, it would send a command over bluetooth to arduino to vibrate. It would need to check for phone vibrate command as the app doesnt give a notification or annything.  Is the ambition too high ? Is this harder to execute than i tought ? 

I have been looking at audio amplifier circuits online to use in a small-ish speaker system I am working on. I found the circuit in the image which is a pretty straight forward circuit and has cheap/easy to find parts. My only question is where exactly do I hook the audio input. I am guessing I connect to the .1uf capacitor on the left chip and to the ground, but I don't know. Hello everyone, Recently I bought BT speaker (chinese to be specific) it is great, and I tried connecting it to my Win7 PC. It is interesting, because instead of audio device it installed two serial ports on my computer. I am wondering if this can be somehow useful. Maybe i can turn off voice notifications in the speaker or other settings. But the problem is I do not know any serial port commands that I can use.  If you know what can be done using this bluetooth serial port please message me or reply in this topic. here is photo of the speaker if it is somehow helpful. Hello, Instructables.      I know it seems like I ask too many questions and post too little ibles, But trust me. I'm working on one right now. And thats why I am here. I am working on a wireless snes controller for PC, and am having problems finding a wireless interface for it. I know theres the XBee, which, being on a limited budget, is off the table. theres Bluetooth, which i have VERY little expirience in, but considering that just makes it sound like it would be fun, and, last but not least, there is InfaRed, which, having recently recieved a IR LED assortment from Electronic Goldmine, might be an option. i will look more into BT, since i do have a bluetooth enable pc anyway.

Is there an inexpensive way to control a water pump or light or other device needing only to turn on and off by using bluetooth?  What I see in my mind....is either a computer or tablet having a bluetooth sender - either built in or a usb dongle...and, for example, an aquarium water pump with a 3.7 or 5 v relay to turn it on and off coupled with a bluetooth receiver.  The computer or tablet would have an app to control the device - with timer software.  I have seen bt dongles that can be purchased for as little as $2 in bulk...low voltage relays also for cheap.  I envision a "box" about 1cm by 3 cm by 3 cm that a pump or a light could be wired into and costing about $US 5 to make.

Hi All, Have a desire to adapt the XBA Bluetooth Adapter to use it on PC. I envisage the adapter needing provide power to the outer pins as i doubt the 2.5mm jack powers the BT unit. ~ Option one is to use an XBOX 360 controller and plug it straight into the USB port on my PC, have not tried this but id imagine it would work. ~ Option 2 is create an adapter that has USB on one end and the XBA Bluetooth Adapter on the other, this is where i hope to come across someone with more skills than me that has done it B4. Theory was to just buy a second hand xbox controller and reverse engineer the internals to pass the wires needed and discard the rest. Thanks in advance, Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to mod my bluetooth headset to give better sound quality and volume.  I disassembled the whole thing, but I noticed something kinda weird.  The speaker on the BT headset has 3 wires coming off of it, instead of the usual 2 that most speakers use.  The 3 wires are: 2 that are of a similar color and are connected to where the magnet of the speaker would sit.  They're not connected to the same spot.  One is connected to the 3 o clock position of the magnet of the speaker, the other is connected to the 9 o clock position.  1 that appears to be connected to the metal speaker housing (I'm assuming is the ground?) Anyone know why this Samsung unit uses 3 wires to power the speaker?

Well, I am pretty tight on time at the moment, but the video should explain things pretty well until I can do so here.  here will also be many more pictures of the K-3 and Kinetic Shotgun, but I just need some time for those too. As for the K-4: Everything worked the way it was designed to work, but certain mechanisms (the trigger and the BTS) required a lot of force to function, thus reducing the amount of tension that would be even remotely practical to use on the bow.  It was a good attempt and I have learned a lot from it; things that I will take with me as I move on to bigger and better guns. Here's a video for now, and I will explain everything in depth as soon as I can.  

Hi, first time asking a question here! My gf's birthday is coming up and I wanted to get her something to improve the sound on the stock stereo in her beloved Mistubishi Lancer. I can get an amazing deal on a Sony Extra-Bass Bluetooth speaker, which I imagine SHOULD do the job. But before I go ahead and buy it, I've been trying to  deduce whether or not it would work. The stereo itself in the car does have Bluetooth capabilities, but I cant find any info online regarding the connection of BT speakers to a car stereo system. Anybody know if this would work, ore have suggestions for a better idea? I'm first to admit that I know nothing about car audio connection/installation etc, so ANY help is appreciated! I haven't posted anything for a few months, and I decided to begin work on something that would blow everyone away.  My goal was to create the most efficient, most power, most versatile mag fed knex rifle ever.  I discovered a way to do that when I came up with the Bullet Transfer System (BTS) that you saw in my BTPA pump action rifle.  However, the BTPA had a several drawbacks.  The first was the size of it.  It was just way too big.  Second was that the ammo it shot was connector ammo, and would start spinning out very quickly.  Last was that the ram barely had any time to accelerate,  as the bullet was placed right above the handle.  I suddenly thought of a design that would solve these problems, quickly drew them out, and began work.  The result was the most efficient, versatile, and powerful mag fed gun ever made, the Vice CKG.  CKG stands for Compact Knex Gun, and I am truly proud if it.  The trigger is a variation of Zak's so I give him credit for that.  So exactly how efficient is this gun?  I was able to get 60+ feet with a string of two #64s with the long range round.  The yellow rods get around 50 feet, only because they spin out after a while, but with two #64s unsharpened yellows can go right through a box from a few feet away.  What's the secret to this incredible efficiency?  First off, the firing pin is a grey rod+a gray connector long, giving it that extra room to accelerate.  Second, the trigger is as far back as possible.  Third, the rods are placed as far away from the ram, giving it time to accelerate.  Finally, the BTS allows the bullet to stay in place with nearly no contact between the bullet and the gun.   THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL, EFFICIENT, AND VERSATILE MAG FED GUN OUT THERE. (I know that statement may sound a little bold, but I am very confident in saying it) Pros 60+ feet range single shot with two #64s 50 feet range with yellows with two #64s Extremely versatile (perfect for long and close range) Looks great 15 yellow rod mag capacity You will dominate the battlefield Cons Reload time (for me anyways)   This video is a little out of date, I have made some upgrades since it was made/

I need a help regarding my audio amplifier,I have a Bluetooth amplifier which has a output of 5w max, it used two ht6872 chip(mono). A day ago left channel started to sound wired like it's ecoing(low volume output also). So i thought it is probably bcs of amplifier chip got broken. So i ordered another one , This new one came with ns4160 chip which also has same output. And these two chip has 95% same circuit diagram except ns4160 uses 10k resistor in audio input and ht6872 uses 12k. So if i use replace both old chip(ht6872) with new one(ns4160) and use the same 12k resistor instead of 10k, will this effect my sound out put. Please consider me as a newbie in these things, answers are welcome and also please tell they problem with the sound output I'm facing is because of amplifier chip or something else? ( I checked the bt module sound output, it's totally fine in both channels)Thanks in advance.

OK, so we have seen "Ethernet over power" devices. In my home there is one with the "BT Vision" (its a UK thing). But I was wondering, does the input protocol of the signal in, allow you to send your own signal? I can understand if it can only send discreet digital signals, so analogue is probably out of the question. I'm sure you are all wondering what I mean. Well although my idea is for something completely different, involving a camera, and a mains powered reloading BB gun, I will appeal to the SPY cam enthusiasts, who are often very clever with lots of ingenuity. So you somehow manage to secrete a Spy-cam in somebodies stereo. How do you access the video? well there are 2 ways. one is to store is locally, this is limited by how bigger storage you can afford, and the limit of the device. The ones I know are normally limited at 4GB or so.  The other way is to use my suggested way, locate the AC input of the Stereo, implant the AC part of the "Ethernet over power" onto it, then plug the USB device into the Ethernet part.(probably with some kind of mods). Then at the computer in question, connect the output to your computer, there is bound to be a 5v supply inside the stereo, but if not, there are plenty of 5v regulators available. what does the community think?
