Brown Dog Build Night at Banjarapalya Makerspace

Hey again from the Banjarapalya Makerspace, Last month we did quite a few build nights on the brown dog solar panels and the makers came up with some amazingly cool projects. It is clearly evident that our little rural makerspace is getting the taste of technology and the folks are loving it.  Some of the cool projects were - 1)a snake made out of paper cups and controlled by arduino run on a brown dog solar panel https://www.instructables.com/id/solar-arduino-snake/ 2)a solar fan that can be clipped to your table or to your hand. Super portable. https://www.instructables.com/id/Nano-solar-fan/ 3)a cute little touch piano, also fed by the sun https://www.instructables.com/id/Solar-piyano/ 4)solar powered boat  https://www.instructables.com/id/Solar-boat-2/ 5)a beautiful tree with LEDs powered too by the sun! https://www.instructables.com/id/Glowing-solar-tree Have attached some of the images. Please give feedback in comments to these projects so the makers can improve themselves and come up with cooler ideas.  Cheers, Abhijit

Build Night at the Banjarapalya Makerspace with Chibitronics

Greetings from the Banjaraplaya Makerspace! We are a small makerspace located in the outskirts of Bangalore (India), in the village of Banjarapalya - https://goo.gl/maps/qz0BX . The space serves as a building as well as an alternative learning space where the local villagers can come and develop various skills in a very self-customised manner. Our participants generally belong to the under-served sections of society and have very limited exposure to technology. We help them develop skills in technology and to get into the habit of making while finding great projects online and using the low-cost equipment available at the space. The build night was a great experience. Almost everyone at the center got involved with the stickers and made greeting cards, wall designs etc. Also, this has helped us to get into the habit of writing more instructables. I feel build nights create great interest very quickly and also give a breather from the regular project work.  We are looking forward to hosting more build nights at our space. Happy Building, Abhijit Co-founder and Makerspace Developer, E4D

Circuit Scribe Build Night at E4D Banjarapalya

Greetings, Just like our previous build night with circuit stickers, this build night with circuit scribes was a huge success. Many participants of our rural Banjarapalya Makerspace participated and built cool artistic projects. Although most projects were made on paper, it brought out the amazing creativity of these kids who are mostly first time learners of computer and English. Some projects: Photo sensing iron man face, blinking house, blinking E4D, Light house, Hulk face. We hope to do many more of such build nights in the months to come, introducing our village to some amazing and fun tech.  Cheers
