Elmers Glue + Super glue =?????

I was making some stamp glue where i mixed some Elmer glue and vinegar. but wanted to see Wat happens when i mix Elmer's glue, vinegar, and super glue. like in 10 seconds the solution turned into a rubbery solid which took the form of the container. can any body tell me why this happened. it held its shape and slightly reminded me of molding silicone. it wasn't sticky and came out of the plastic cup easily.

Glueing Rubber

I'm trying to make a long inflatable rubber tube buy cutting a bike inner tube and then resealing the ends. I'm doing a bit of a trial run with all the suitable materials I have knocking about but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I need it so I can inflate the tube with little or no leakage (not to any great pressure) and I would like it to remain at least semi flexible so that means I cant just pack the last 2 inches with hot glue. Any suggestions? I plan to try poly-cement, epoxy, hot glue, super glue and melting the ends together but I'm sure someone has had some experience at this.

Glueing Plastics Together? Answered

When I say plastics, I mean more specifically, LEGOs. I'm glueing them together because I'm trying to make LEGO headphones, so I would need something permanent. I've heard people using cyanoacrylates and clear plumbing glue (anyone heard of Oatey?) I thought about using hot glue, but I'm not sure if that would give me the bond that I'm looking for. Would Gorilla Glue work too? Or would it be a bit of an overkill? I simply need a glue that will hold the LEGOs through enough wear-and-tear to last, and no discolouring of the pieces. And when I glue, should I glue the sides of the pieces together, or put glue around the dotted studs on the tops of the bricks? Any other glues or advice that you could enlighten me with would be greatly appreciated. :)

Mirror acrylic Glue

Hey,I have been researching the best way to glue acrylic mirror together into a cube the same as the picture attached. So far I have been told it is quiet hard but Dichloro is what my supplier was able to find out. I have read a lot of health hazards and difficulty getting hold of it. Is there any that would be able to point me in the right direction. With my normal acrylic i just use a weldbond etc but the mirrored surface would not be suited. Thanks in advance everyone.

How to glue feathers.

I want to glue feathers to a small curved wooden box in a lifelike manner. (I know wooden boxes aren't usually feathered, but you know what I mean #;¬) The feathers are about 2 inches long and a bit fluffy.  PVA glue has been suggested elsewhere but is it possible to do this in a reasonable amount of time as I can imagine dislodging un-set feathers while adding others.  Another alternative would be is hot / cool melt glue but I can imagine this as being too bulky. Does anyone who has done this have any tips?

super SPEEDY glue

Super glue. Good stuff. A bit slow sometimes. Baking soda speeds it up. But I want it clear.  I don't have accelerator. I think I could get some on the far side of town, but don't know someplace close to buy it. Internet says moisture cures it. I don't find this to be true. Internet says heat, air movement, UV.  At the moment, my project is sittin in the sun, which gives all 3 things, but there's no control group.  Qs What sorta place sells accelerator for cyanoacrylate? Which techniques have sped you along with it before?

Glueing acrylic to wood?

Evening all, I have recently been contemplating throwing together something of a monitor mount. I am currently contemplating whether it would be possible to finish a wood box by attaching a plasticy black surface(plastic, acrylic or what have you) to it. At this stage I am motivated by wanting a black plastic finish that will go with my monitors while at the same time attaching a vesa mount to wood seems like it would be more sturdy than an entirely acrylic box. So long story short, would a sheet of acrylic glue nicely onto a sheet of wood with some sort of epoxy?

White Glue problem

Does anyone know how to remove white glue from a fixed chair? I'm fixing chairs for a pub around, but lately interchanged the wood pieces of the upper left and right. I noticed this 6hrs later, when it was too late to disassemble/tear things out. I know, basically it's possible to do so with water or heat, but in this case the glue is in the chair itself, so i guess, i can't heat it up - i thought about putting the chair into to a tub to soak it with water, but then i'd have the problem that even the chair's wood itself is soaked. Any suggestions?

What is the ultimate glass glue?

I've been looking for the ultimate glass glue. I have tried many that claim to be, but in reality they are pretty much Testors model glue in a different package. All I have come across dry a bit rubbery and while it may be desirable in some projects, with a little flexing, the glue peals away. I have seen glass glued to glass that was clear, rigid and unyielding. So I know that it does exist. Suggestions.....

Seal Glue Glitter on Plastic?

I bought some fancy reusable clear plastic cups and I applied some glue glitter on them.  Unfortunately, the dry glitter glue scrapes off, so I'm wondering Is there a sealant that can: 1) keep the glue from being scraped off, 2) dries clear (the glossier the better), and 3) is non toxic?  Tried Mod Podge spray sealer, Glossy Accents, even finger nail polish.  Any suggestions?

Cheapest DIP glue logic?

I am looking to by some glue logic chips to prototype in so they must be in dip packages. I also want them to be cmos chips and not ttl. I am looking for which family of logic is the cheapest and for a good place to by them on the cheap. I don't care about the specs that much in terms of speed by I would hope for 5V and the ability to supply 15mA or more. The reason I am asking instead of finding the answers for myself is that I have already tried looking but there seem to be so many families that are very similar and I cant come to a conclusion. Ii was hoping that somebody who had some experience working with them would have some insight into me question.

Do repositionable glues stick to the original surface?

I want to treat a plastic sheet with some glue, so it would create a Post-It like surface. I'd like to have this (original) surface sticky indefinitely, and to have anything I attach came off clean later. Is that how these repositionable glues work? Will they stick permanently to the surface they applied to first? Or there is no "original" and "other" piece, and some of the glue will transfer eventually? Is there a difference in repositionable adhesive spays and removable/restickable glue sticks in this sense?
