The CBS Sunday Morning show recently covered a story about awesome custom golf carts in the Villages retirement community down in Florida. The Villages has cart-path infrastructure allowing golf cart access everywhere. A culture of custom golf carts has since developed, with some really awesome builds. Can I get one with spinners? Hi, I'm new to this group but not to working on golf carts. I have been working on carts now for 15 years and I just started another venture in drag racing them. This is a lot of fun and hard work though but I really like the people in which I race around. If you are in SC area this May 2011 come join us for a weekend of racing and showing off your cart in Pageland SC. If anyone has questions about there cart feel free to ask!

I have an idea for a new sport. If you combine golf with archery, you'd get Golfery! The concept is simple with only some minor modifications. Arrowheads now have a golf ball or ping-pong ball for a head. To get a hole in one, the player must hit the flagpole in the pocket. There are (3) 1 foot wide rings concentrically spaced around the flagpole. Inner ring = 1 stroke, middle = 2 strokes, outer = 3 strokes. If the arrow lands outside of the outer ring, the player must pick up the arrow and gently toss it underhand towards the pocket. Other than that, the standard rules of golf are followed. I don't have the equipment to test out my ideas. If someone here would try it out and PM me with the results and any suggestions that would be great.

Hey guys!I'm looking to build an automatic putter with a solenoid from a old starter motor and some super capacitors.I've figured out how to triangulate the distance using a servo and a pair of lasers but I'm at a loss on how to charge them and the math behind it to make sure that the right amount of current goes through. The basic plan is to either wire up a series of the caps listed above and hopefully charge them in series. OR buy a car booster pack and disassemble it for the bits and pieces. OR use a lipo like this and hope that the discharge is enough to hit the ball down the course.Any thoughts or suggestions on some reading meterial?I'll be doing an instructable at some point and will give some cred to the best answer

I was curious about how I would go about building my own Caddyshack golf bag. I would like to run two 4"x6" , or 5" speaks connected to some sort of ipod dock or just ipod. I figure I would use a ATV or car battery connected to some sort of inverter then run an ipod connected to speakers. I want to use this in the upcoming bay to breakers run. If possible I also want to have a three gallon pony keg to dispense beer as we walk. If you have any ideas of how I can make this work or have tips suggesting a different idea of to go about the same idea, please help. Thank you

As to my question, been searching the net for info and can't seem to find any diagrams or instructions on how they should be hooked up. Have heard they hook up neg. to positive and vise versa to each battery, but I don't understand. Can someone help me out please? Thanks in advance.

I live on a golf course and want to be able to take control of the electronic golf carts that come by my home. My plan is to film the reactions of the old dudes that send their carts way ahead of them. I realize this is probably taboo when it comes to golf but I think it would be funny has hell to watch their reactions when their carts move on their own. Help me realize this and I will send you video of the fun.

This modified golf cart is apparently riding around some studio lot in Hollywood. Not much info about it except that one commenter claims it was made by Marc's Creature Company for a director who is not Christopher Nolan. Well, no matter what, it's a sweet custom job. I was idly browsing Frisbee equipment with a view to persuading an acquaintance in the local school sports hierarchy to start an Ultimate league going, when I noticed that there are different kinds of discs for Frisbee Golf - Distance Drivers Fairway Drivers Mid-Range Drivers Putt & Approach Yet, in the catalogue descriptions, they are all the same size, and all the same weight. What is the actual difference between these discs? Or is it just a scam to make you buy more discs?

I'm interested in making a yardage book for one of the golf courses i play at. The only problem is that i don't know an accurate way to measure the change in distance through elevation. For instance if a shot to a green with no change in elevation requires a 7-iron, then a shot of the same distance that is downhill should require a club that will hit the ball a shorter distance. My question is, is there a formula of some type that i can enter the rate of change in slope and the distance, and get the actual distance needed for the shot.

Hello Instructables community! The time has come for me to terrorize the streets with my driving skillz! (I say "Skillz" jokingly) I'm looking for a car, and found a good condition 1985 VW Golf Diesel on Craigslist. The owner says it gets 42-47mpg, and, being an old diesel I believe it. But I was wondering if there are any common problems with Golfs of that age? Anything I should be worried about when buying one? Thank you in advance!

I don't know much about solar panels, energy, or electricity. But I'm curious they have electric carts, and small electric cars, that you just plug into your house and it automatically charges. Is it possible to put solar panels on the roof of a golf cart so that when the cart is parked the sun will charge the batteries while your like in the store or somewhere? Is it how long would it take the sun to charge six golf cart batteries? or would you have to use some sort of other type of batteries?

Clearing out the house and shed of "stuff" and listing a lot on ebay...wondering if I can indicate people might use our VW solar powered charger for golf cart battery charging (as long as they have a cigarette lighter in the golf cart!?)? We no longer have that car, but have another VW, and we don't ever use this charger for it. We live in a retirement community with lots of golf carts...thanks, guys (and gals!)

I have a Milwaukee Brewer themed golf cart and the only thing it is missing is a helmet for a roof. It needs to be just a basic 80's baseball helmet (no ear flaps...like the ones they used to give away at the game) that is big enough to cover or replace the top of the my EZ-GO golf cart (about 80" long). Has anyone seen one of these done before? What kind of materials would I use to fabricate something like this?

I played around with some balls placed into the airstream of a little blower. Everything light enough just "danced" in the air like being hold on invisible strings. But not so much the golf ball! You would expect those dimples are good for reducing air friction but do they also offer stability in some cases by making the ball spin? Check this video I recorded while playing - to me it looks like with a proper nozzle there is even more speed possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=014QkXuTL0o How fast can you make it spin?
