So iv been given two plc-xe40 projectors but I have NO REMOTE for either of them, so I'm trying to find a way of turning them on as they don't have any external buttons, but international they have places for 4 pin push buttons to be soldered on, but when link across I get nothing, iv also tried an app call Zaza (which is very cool) but still nothing, service manual is easily accessible online, I can buy a used remote but want to prove that they work. Iv looked over them eg thermal rest is fine, lamp is fine, micro sw is good and iv checked the voltage from the power board and there fine. I do need to check the p-fail protection circuit but in the manual it sez that a warning LED will come on if there's an issue but no led warning LED.

Know those wireless pagers that restaurants hand out? I think they're called guest alert, host alert or serv alert. Something like that. There's got to be a way to trigger those whenever you want rather than when the restaurant wants, right? Has anyone considered using a PLC & Bluetooth to do this?

For a school project, I am running a 4.5 volt, 0.03 amp laser pointer. I need to run it from a 24v power supple. I have tried 1/4 watt resistors, and they ended up smoking. I don't know how to determine what components I need between the + power and the +lead of the laser pointer. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would like to get a DC motor to spin in one direction for a specific number of rotations and then spin in the opposite direction for the same amount of rotations and continue to do this automatically? I know that changing the direction of the motor is achieved by reversing the polarity from the power supply, but how can this be done without using a switch or potentiometer or any other piece of hardware? I am new to this stuff so any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hallo guys I have ESP8266 programmed to operate at MODBUS TCP / IP and PLC (LSIS) connected to router by Ethernet MODBUS. I made connection between them successfully (using P2P service found in PLC) through router, but the connection produce error. P2P service found to make connection between LSIS devices and other devices. This service requires inter the read and write memory address for ESP8266 with condition that the address must has 5 digit. Knowing that I use simple diode connection on GPIO pin-14. The problem is when I search for ESP8266 memory map addresses, I find it (0x60000360) 8 digit and this return error from PLC side. Please can any one help me?

Has anyone used a 16 Channel 12V Relay Module Interface Board For Arduino PIC ARM DSP PLC? I want to use it to control some solenoids but I have no idea how to do so, I'm looking for a schematic and a code example. I'm a total programming noob. I want to connect it to an arduino duemilanove. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-16-Channel-12V-Relay-Module-Interface-Board-Arduino-PIC-ARM-DSP-PLC-/170745300786?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash;=item27c1368732#ht_4131wt_1398

I've got a 12vdc 500ma power supply that I'm using to trigger a few solid state relays. I'm also using the same power supply to provide input current to a little micro PLC (Automation Direct DL05). Both the relays and the PLC have a wide range of acceptable input voltages and their current requirements are about 15ma per channel at 12 volts. The count is 6 relays and 8 PLC inputs, if all are on thats about 210ma. I once killed a similar power supply by allowing the leads to touch and short-out. I would like to protect this power supply from the same fate by protecting it from short circuit. I thought about attaching a reisistor to the end of one lead and covering all but the outlet of the resistor with heat shrink tubing... problem is, it would have to be a big, bulky power resistor to handle the wattage. Is there a simple component available that will limit the current upon short circuit that I can place in series with my loads to protect the power supply? As I said, it doesn't have to be precise and it doesn't matter if it jerks the voltage around a little.

I would like to turn on a small battery powered light by remote control. Is there a web site that sells the parts needed? Someone suggested a remote control relay would be needed. By circuits I mean a general group like PLC's.

"Recently, Royal Dutch Shell PLC received $865 million from the Canadian government for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project. Green roofs, rooftops with plants, can capture and store carbon, according to a new study by Michigan State University in East Lansing. The technology to build green roofs already exists, and they can be created for much cheaper than a CCS project."The key to fighting global warming is capturing carbon from the atmosphere and storing it in new reservoirs that weren't storing carbon before," lead researcher Kristin Getter said...."This looked like a rather elegant answer to the Green Question.

Hey everyone! I need help with this certain project of mine. I bought this coin acceptor and turns out it can only accept a certain type of coin based on it's diameter. The problem is I need a multi-coin acceptor that can accept three types of coin which I will then hook up to a PLC. Tried looking for one over the net (Ebay and other sites) and I couldn't find anything. I also tried looking for some locally (I'm from a 3rd world country) and didn't find anything either. Any type of help will be useful. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I have a surplus of electronic components left over from when I worked with my dad. We built stroller vending machines for shopping malls. some of the parts are kind of specific to vending machines (bill acceptors and coin hoppers), however some of the parts can have infinite uses in the hands of the instructables community. I will list what I have and please feel free to email me with any questions. I can send photos upon request. All of these parts are brand new in the box. I live in the chicagoland area. The (British) government has sold its last remaining shares in the Aldermaston Atomic Weapons Establishment in Berkshire to an American company. The fee paid by California-based Jacobs Engineering has not been disclosed. The sale of British Nuclear Fuels' stake means Jacobs has control of one third of Aldermaston's operating company, AWE Management. The other two thirds were already in private hands. They are split equally between American defence giant Lockheed Martin and the British plc Serco.Aldermaston is responsible for the production of warheads for the Trident nuclear deterrent programme and its planned replacement. Some opposition politicians claim that US control of UK weapon production breaks the "no technology sharing" conditions of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.BBC story

I need to make a digital counter circuit which it counts to 15 minutes for my big project in my campus . When the circuit counts to 10 minutes, it will rings a buzzer. Same when it continues to 15 minutes, it will ring a buzzer again. (the circuit is for public speaking, so the speaker knows that he or she already went speak for 10 minutes and 15 minutes). We weren't allowed to use an Arduino, Microcontroller, PLCs, IC NE555, and a 4000 series CMOS IC but we were allowed to use breadboard, flip flop, decoder and 7 segments display. I'm kinda stuck here and I'm thinking it's impossible to make such a thing. Do you have any idea guys?

Ok i was using an arduino mega and ramps 1.4 motor controller for my home build cnc.During the time of testing ,there was ahuge back current and probably the mega is fried. This is the state now, when i plug the mega on to my computer : 1)The Green ON led lights up 2)device detected ,but not recognized.( tried re installing the drivers ,but no use ) 3)Reset button does not make the L light blink. 4)RX-TX not lighting up. I want to know if this arduino can ever be used again. And for the safe use of the cnc, what micro-controller/micro-controller precautions/PLC should be used. Can i fix this MEGA by replacing some components , i really dont want to spend more on the cnc(i have already spend around 400$ till date)

The Morgan LIFE car will get it's first UK airing at the Eden Project next weekend. The Morgan LIFE car, probably the sexiest green car in existence is a fuel cell-powered electricsports car built by Morgan Motor Company and startup efficient transport company RiverSimple. Research and development is by QinetiQ, Linde, Cranfield University and backed by BERR. This is its first UK outing.Four stacks of fuel cells convert the hydrogen fuel into electricity to run a super efficient motor generator attached to each wheel. Energy recovered in braking is stored in ultra capacitors rather than batteries, and end to end the performance is estimated to be equivalent to a 150mpg petrol engine. With a top speed of 85mph, 0-60 in less than 7 seconds and a 250 mile range, the mix of technology has been packaged by Morgan to add yet another unique twist to the project. Using only the best and lightest materials, aluminium, wood and leather, the Morgan DNA is clearly visible, adding a new dimension into an environmentally sensitive concept. And Lotus will be showcasing their most powerful Exige yet:The Lotus Exige 270E Tri-fuel is the most powerful version of the Lotus Exige ever, and it runs on any mixture of gasoline, bioethanol and methanol. It is the latest research vehicle from Lotus Engineering, the consultancy division of Group Lotus plc.Emerging technologies will allow alcohol fuels such as methanol, already a proven internal combustion fuel, to be made synthetically from CO2 extracted from the atmosphere. A fuel derived renewably from atmospheric CO2 would be a key piece of the jigsaw allowing society to transfer to sustainable, renewable, carbon-neutral internal combustion.Lotus Engineering is researching the use of sustainable synthetic alcohols as future fuels for introduction within 15 - 20 years. The Exige 270E Tri-fuel is part of Lotus' research into the complex combustion and calibration processes for powering vehicles on mixtures of alcohol fuels and gasoline, which will be important for a successful transition from today's fuels. Its flex-fuel technology gives a practical route to the introduction of sustainable synthetic fuels. Using an alcohol sensor in the fuel system and the advanced Lotus engine management system, the Exige 270E Tri-fuel runs on any mixture of gasoline, bioethanol and methanol. This is all happening at the Eden Project in Cornwall, one of the UK's flagship environmental projects, with some of the world's largest biodomes built into an old claypit. All the major manufacturers will be flaunting their newest, greenest models including Ford, Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Volkswagen, SEAT, Honda, Axon, Lotus, Saab and Morgan. Vectrix's electric motorcycle will also be on show, and the hydrogen-powered Morgan LIFE car will make its first public appearance (in the UK).There will also be exhibitors demonstrating how to maintain and even insure your car in a greener way. One stand will feature a driving simulator that they claim can teach you to drive in such a way that your carbon emissions are cut by 15%, there will be a pedal-car race track for the kids, and a Grow Your Own car trail around the rainforest. We visited last Summer, and can recommend it to anybody. If your not aiming for a specific event, go on a Tuesday (it's quieter) and check opening times - opening times on some days are several hours longer than others.Eden Project
