This duck was born without being able to walk on its own. A teacher and her kids came up with a way for the duck to get around anyway with its own scooter. It now lives with the teacher and goes to class every day.Reminds me a lot of the Dachshund wheelchair. Linkvia Neatorama

I am looking to power a kart with a mobility scooter motor and transaxel. The motor controls start at about £135, but you can get just the pot for about £30. I'm only going forward, so do I need the entire controller, or will just the pot do the job?

Gotta love this so-not-street-legal mod to a scooter that shoots 15-foot flames out the back. Just a push of the button and WHOOSH! The creator, Colin Furze, can even change the angle if he wanted to. Aside from being illegal to use the biggest downside is that the flames can come back at him if he isn't careful. Wheels on fire! I have a Monarch Ryder mobility scooter and I need to occasionally pump up the tyres. The problem is that I live by myself and it is very painful for me to bend down low enough to attach the hose to the tyres in order to pump them up. I have been going to my local garage and they have done it for me so far, but I want to be able to do it myself. I have considered investing in a ramp but I have no way of supporting the top end. I did think of getting solid tyres that never need air, but I've been told that this would make the ride very painful for me as every bump would be amplified. Is there any sort of long hose I could permanently attach to each tyre that I could secure higher up on the scooter when I am not using it? Does anyone have any other ideas?

I was thinking of taking a weed whacker and taking the pole off, taking the motor, put it on a chain drive system to the back wheel. I have two questions about this. First, will the motor have enough torque to pull a 130 lb. guy, and is there a transmission system I have to over come.

I have a Scooter and now i have added a battery within it. I charge the battery externally, but lately i have seen that the lights that i keep on in the night (halogens lights) tend to fade away after 30 min or so and gone. Now i want to charge the battery while on the move. I tried doing so through the coils that were in the scooter by adding a rectifier circuit it works but the head light goes dim, and this idea didn't work out for me. But now i am planning to buy an external alternator and modify my scooter to charge the battery. Is it possible and if so what is the type of alternator i should use and the Amp ratings. My battery is a lead Acid Battery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_kxy2XLDxQ Thanks in advance

I want to attach a propeller to a micro scooter, so I need an engine. I, however, know absolutely nothing about choosing engines Can anyone reccomend a suitable engine? it must be under £50, easily available in the UK, capable of pushing a micro scooter with me on it at a reasonable speed (faster than normal scooting speed), small enough to fit on the scooter and easy to control (preferable just with a wire which can be pulled for more juice). Could you also reccomend a suitable propeller? Incidentally, does anyone know if this thing will be road legal?

I'd really like to build an electric mobility scooter similar to one of the Rascals or even the Walmart buggies for my mother. I keep thinking I can't be the only one that has ever considered this but I can't seem to find much. I don't suppose anyone would want to make an instructable on this particular project? I may try and tackle it myself and post an instructable, its just that there are pieces of the puzzle I'm not quite sure about.

So i rescued this 36v 500w electric scooter from the trash. the charger with it was broken so i scored one off ebay for $9. i charged it up and it actually worked but for the most part was useless to me as it was too slow for me but at the same time too fast and unstable for my kids. so it sat next to my house for several months and when i charged it up today and turned it on the speed control burnt up(ants had built a nest inside and shorted it). so now i have everything else which is still good(motor, batteries, frame and wheels etc) and seems a shame to waste it. i could buy a new speed control off ebay for $25 but like i said it wasnt very useful as it was. any ideas for what to use these parts for without a speed controller? some thoughts i had were electric bike or electric mower. i also have some powerwheels laying around just begging to be hot rodded. also if anyone in the charlotte nc area can have it if you promise to build something cool out of it.

I have a pride mobility scooter that goes only 3mph--how can I make it go faster--perhaps 7 mph?
Question by arleneharlow | last reply
I bought it over 7 years ago, the business is no longer there. The scooter is a no-name. 1. It no longer will charge and I need to replace the battery. 2. The lights no longer go on high beam. Where do I start? I do not live near a large city - this would have to be DIY.

Can anyone give me a cct diagram to make a 24volt charger to plug into my car cigar lighter socket please. I carry my mobilty scooter in my car and it is very difficult to keep taking it out, or taking the battery pack off to bring it into the house to charge it so it would be a great boon to me if I could be charging this whilst drivng. I can make a pcb if I can get a cct. Grateful thanks in anticipation. Tony

I'm trying to make a mini "sea doo" sea scooter for under 100usd. Im wondering if its possible to run a brushless motor with a simple switch rather than a complex arduino based system. I will probably enclose the project in a 4-6in diameter pvc pipe with end caps and run the propeller shaft through a smaller pipe with 2 bearings on both end to keep water out. I would prefer to have a hand drill style switch for variable speeds but if that's not possible single speed button will work also. Also are li-po batteries a good option for this.

3 batteries, 2 motors, controle module. The module has 10 wires, the black and yellow wires go to the motor with the black and yellow, got that. Two matching wires go to the other motor, got that. The large wire is 4 wires wrapped together and their ends match up to wires coming from the handle bars, 2 prong, 3 prong, so forth, got that , those wires I got snapped together. 1 black wire is left and 1 red. Okay positive and negative, got that. This is where I don't got it. I believe before, the positive went to the positive of the first battery and the negative went to the negative of the last battery. For reasons I don't understand the negative of the first battery went to the positive of the middle battery and the negative of the middle went to the positive of the last battery along with a 30 amp fuse. The on/off switch has 3 prongs( what is the extra prong for?) The charging port has 3 prongs, why? There was a wire with a wierd thing on it, I want to call it a resistor, what's this and do I need it? How do I tie it all together, 1 negative wire, 1 positive wire coming off the control module to the 3 prong on/off switch, 3 prong charging port, 3 batteries (36volt) and a fusable link in there somewhere. All these parts are what the scooter originally had, "friend" got as far as just unhooking everything. HELP, I don't want anything to blow up.

I recently replaced the belt on my 2007 runmaster scooter, during the process of trying to figure out how to replace it i think i may have turned a bolt on the carb. the reason is because after i replaced the belt it would start and it would run but it would bog down when i sat on it and it wouldnt have much power on take off but would pick up a little, plus it would shake very bad and idle kinda high. the reason why i think its ideling too high is because the back tire spins while its ideling on the kickstand. but when i sit on it it would shake and almost bog out. i tryed to turn that said bolt the opposite way a few times though it still did the same thing, it now wont start at all. i have electric start only and now when i try to start it it wont make a sound it wont do anything. but when i turn the clutch a few times it would try to (barely making a sound) for a third of a second start but i think i may have killed the battery too. can anyone please help?! i cant even find a repair shop anywhere near me that would touch a chinese scooter.
