Wood-framed mesh "tent" to grow strawberries; How-tos needed!

Hello, I'm looking for some help in constructing a wood-framed mesh "tent" to grow strawberries. The strawberries are visible through the screen that's stapled to the wood frame in a tent shape. It looks like you can lift off the triangular "roof" to collect strawberries, prune, etc. Just saw this in a Sunset Magazine ( February 2009 issue, page 32G) as well as in someone's backyard during a garden tour this spring. It looks like it would keep the berries protected from predators. Does anyone know how to make such a thing? Thanks!

Strawberry Fair: Cambridge (Englandshire), Sat 6-06-2009

Strawberry FairIt's a music, arts and crafts festival in Cambridge. What more do you need? As it turns out, I was looking at a room for rent, and the guy I spoke to had an arduino, laptop, webcam and servo being wired together on the table. I asked him a) what it was (answer "a gothometer")b) if he read any tech blogs (answer: Instructables was mentioned)and told him to take some photos and write it up, because as a project it would probably be feature-worthy.My rambling anecdotes aside, are any of the UK 'Iblers interested? There will be crafts, leftfield things to see and wireless internet access (and, of course, a beautiful city with many good sandwich shops). I fully intend to go (the location is almost across the road from my prospective new house) and will write up if there's anything worth writing up.

Plants slowly dying in an odd way, any gardeners out there who can tell me why? Answered

I have an aerogarden with some strawberries.  They started just fine but they recently ran into some trouble.  The leaves started yellowing.  I did a little research and it seemed to match the symptoms for magnesium deficiency.  I switched nutrient mixes, thinking that might help, but it seems like it isn't getting any worse or better.  It's looked like this for about a month, not much growth, not much die off.

Picture of Ingredients. How important is it to you?

Do you count on seeing a picture of the ingredients or do you rely on the actual "List of ingredients" in a recipe? I frequently make recipes up as I go along, taking fastidious notes of what was added along the way and taking a lot of pictures. Because of this proclivity, I've found taking a picture of the ingredients (before the recipe is completed) is a total waste of time.  That wouldn't be so bad, except that I often run out of an ingredient used in the recipe and have nothing to take a picture of.  For example: I'm making an peach pie and the voice in my recipe box shouts "Baja! Remember the fresh strawberries you have in the frig? I bet they would taste great with those peaches!" So, of course I listen to my exuberant recipe-box-voice and add the strawberries... but now I'm out of fresh strawberries... and the closest grocery store where I might be able to find them is 2 hours away.  UGH.  All opinions appreciated... unless you want to criticize my loquacious recipe box.  It happens to be very close friends with my tool box, who is fiercely protective and carries a blunt, heavy weapon object at all times.  It could get ugly, so please don't say I didn't warn you. ;-)

Peanut Butter & Jelly Beer!

Short's Brewery has a Peanut Butter and Jelly Beer.  My favorite sandwich of all time is the PB&J.;  And, why not? Beer = Liquid Bread. I'm thinking of making my own. I've been homebrewing for about 5 years now, thanks to this instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Make-Beer/  (check it out). Maybe an American Rye with peanut powder and some sort of fruit added. Blackberry? Strawberry? Thoughts? Suggestions? Does this make you say "mmmm" or "blegh!!!"? P.S. Yes, I know Peanut Butter and Jelly is an American idea. Marmite Beer is not appealing to me in the slightest.

Top plants for home garden to be used in cooking? Answered

I was curious about what are some of the best plants for my backyard garden. I want to be able to use these plants in my cooking. So far I know that strawberries and tomatoes and cilantro are going in. Maybe some common herbs will add to the variety. I am a southern California residence and the area is shaded by two palm trees. The temperature range is very mild with few extremes and the soil is of mediocre quality. I just need some direction as to what else is available and what I would most commonly need for my cooking. Thank you,

High torque solar motor?

I've wanted to do this for ages: build a solar stand for a strawberry planter (or it could be for any other plant) with an extremely low RPM. I'd like it to rotate once every 48 hours so that over time all the sides get equal sun exposure. I'd also like it to be solar powered..... All the motors and kits I find are on hobby sites  and they're tiny little things (plus even the high torque ones  have RPMs above 1). I thought of using a clock mechanism, but there's no way it could handle the weight.... Any ideas where I could find what I need? Thanks!

Toy-Story 3 lots-o huggin bear conspiracy.

So i finally watched Toy Story3.(which happens to be epic) But I happend to relate lots-o huggin bear to adolf hitler....Why?you might be wondering. Well here's my list of thing that support my thesis. Also this is sorta crazy..maybe im just over thinking this but it does all make sense. 1-The biggest indicator is the line "Things were fine until lots-o came along. and he made a pyramid and put him self at the top of it!" which is what hitler did in the 1930's by making germany a dictatorship. 2-Another thing i noticed is how:Big baby, the rock moster, and the bug. Were alot like the SS by doing lots-o's bidding no matter what. 3-SPOILER-Near the end of the movie when they get past the trash grinding thing. And lots-o was gonna hit the stop button. He didn't and the toys he didn't like(woody, buzz, etc.) were going to end up in the trash incinerator. Which made me think of the mass burnings of jew's during the holocaust just because hitler didn't like them. 4-I also related to quote by pricklepants(the clown)"Sunnyside is a place of ruin and despair, ruled by an evil bear who smells of strawberries!" To how the concentration are usually described in history books/storys. Also i related how the evil toys(hitler,SS)lived well in the butterfly room.versus how poor the good toys(jew's) were treated awfully in the catepillar room. And how they showed the kids doing all sorts of crazy things to buzz and the gang. Well thats all i have now but i plan on writing some stuff down the next time i watch it. So expect more...also i know this is a very far out there conspiracy but if you've seen the movie then perhaps you'll agree.
