Turnigy 9X not working?

I have a Mode 2 Turnigy 9X transmitter for my quad-copter (3DRobotics APM 2.6) and it worked almost perfectly at first for a $90 controller. After not using it for a while, I tried using my quad-copter and it wouldn't arm (start). I plugged it into my PC to check the transmitter settings in the APM program and the sticks do not work anymore. The left stick does not show movement values at all and the right stick (throttle) does not go to the lowest value (~900) anymore, only to the highest. The left stick is what is used to start the quad, which is why it wouldn't start in the first place. Why would the sticks suddenly stop working? Also, about a week earlier, a screw fell out of the inside of the transmitter (heard it rattling inside). Would this have anything to do with it?

I am getting the message Turnigy MAX 80W?

I am trying to charge by 3S LIPO battery. It is 6200mAh. The charger that I have is Turnigy MAX80W. I am trying to balance charge my battery. However, when I configure the charger to 6.2Amps and 11.1V and then I press enter and I get the message to press enter to confirm or press back to go back. However, when I press Enter; It just shows me the message 'Turnigy MAX 80W'. Some times it shows  me the message 'Input Vol Err'. I have a tripple battery supple HM8040-3 and I am providing 17V from it. I am really confused what then problem is as I recently bought the charger. Please help!!!

Electric bike motor help!

Helli guys.. after a long time racing motocross, I would like to experiment into doing an electric dirt bike for myself.. My plan is to find an 85 or 125cc frame with no engine, and build from that.. the biggest question is, what motor could I use that is no less than 15kw, and on the affordable side? I was looking at the Turnigy Rotomax 150cc eqiv. And it has a max power output at 9000 something watts, would that be any good for a motocross bike? Would it burn out quickly since its pretty small? Notes: i am strictly looking for powerful bikes, a 2kw bike is not for me since I am used to overpowered 250cc two stroke hell-born suicide machines, thanks..

electric micro kart

I want to build a micro kart with a range of 10 miles at an average speed of about 5mph, with a reverse function. Iv been looking at blogs and Instructables for micro karts and DIY electric longboards hoping to directly copy the basic components of another project however all the projects iv found are for high speed machines that often need a bump/kick start and i need something that will happily run at consistently low speeds without an assisted start. I don't have the electronics knowhow to work out what combination of motor, battery and ESC i need but from what iv read it sounds like i might need an outrunner (?) type motor which is apparently good for low speeds and high torque. Iv been looking at the Turnigy motors on the Hobbyking website as they were recommended by a few blogs, i tried posting this question on their forums a week ago but got zero response. Could you take a look at their motor selection and recommend the appropriate combination of parts? Thanks

Drone not turning on? Answered

I have an Ardupilot 2.6 from 3DRobotics on their quad frame. I am using their power distribution board now instead of using one that I made myself. Before I changed the power board, my drone was working perfectly. Now when I try to arm it (enable the motors) it does not work. The light on the APM 2.6 blinks red when disarmed and is solid red when armed. It only blinks when I try to arm it. I am using a Turnigy 9x transmitter with a turnigy RX. I have tried replacing the RX and it does the same thing. I have a separate battery pack for the receiver because it seemed like it was not getting enough power with the 3DRobotics power board. Could it be a problem with the transmitter?

Help wth a 12v DC circuit

Hello all2 Questions pleaseI am working on a hobby project and I am needing to hook a 12v computer fan (200mm) which is 0.3A max...up to a Turnigy 5.0 Li-Po battery. The battery is 7.4v, 30-40c discharge, 5000mAh. I have ordered a DC to DC adjustable voltage "step-up" converter to increase the output to 12v (I am hoping this works). (Q1) - how (if at all) do I limit the output amperage to 0.3A without burning up the fan motor. The fan is going into a cosplay set of foam armor (to help keep some air flow going to try to keep semi-cool) and I am hoping to be able to run the fan for about 3hrs. If I can accomplish the above, (Q2) - how long might the fan run?Attached is the "step-up" I ordered...

Splicing A Wii Power Adapter to work with a Battery Pack?

Hey guys, I'm planning to build a Wii portable laptop (https://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Low-cost-Portable-Wii-Laptop/), and I have all my parts except for my battery. I need something rechargable, so after a couple minutes of searching, I came up with two solutions! This Li-Ion battery = http://www.amazon.com/HitLights-12V-Rechargeable-Battery-Pack/dp/B007RQW5WG or This Li-Po = http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turnigy-3S-2200mAh-Lipo-Battery-Pack-11-1v-12v-20-30C-3-cell-DJI-Phantom-FPV-USA-/281246158170 I am a beginner at wiring, and quite honestly, all I know how to do is soldering (in theory, I haven't tried it yet). How can I splice my wii power brick to fit either of these battery packs? Thanks a ton for helping me with my (noobie) question!

Charge AND balance 4 Lipo packs? Series Parallel solution help.

I have x4 identical Turnigy Graphene Professional 5200mAh 3S2P 15C LiPo Packs w/XT60 - and I need 22.2v out of them for a portable boombox project.   I have x2 12S 30A BMS's to balance / charge on board and a 600w 48v 12.5 A power supply. By wiring up the battery packs in series then parallel to get the 22.2v output - if I then connected the BMS (either by directly wiring to each cell or using the pack balance plugs) would it would cause a short circuit through the balance wires?    The ideal solution would be a wall plug power supply that plugs into the (sealed) boombox and charges all of the batteries through the BMS's. Is there any way of achieving this through parallel charging (not a fan) or could I switch easily between the two wiring set ups?   I'm trying to avoid buying a £200 Lipo charger and connect the batteries directly or keep disassembling the boombox every time it needs charging. Thanks

Electric vehicle motor selection

As any one who has looked at my instructables knows whilst a school teacher I built a full sized electric racing car.https://www.instructables.com/id/Building-an-elect...This had a 250 watt DC motor over run to 500 watts - 20 amps at 24 volts .It was capable of running the car up to 25 - 30 MPH and using 2 car batteries drive for a couple of hours on the flat.Nowadays electric vehicles are all the rage. Looking at a few motores as small as 4000 watts are in use for city use where high speed isn't necessary. Now the question:https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-c580l-580kv-br...This motor intended for model cars is rated at 4000 watts RPM 26,100 100 amps at 45 volts. that's about 5.5 Hp.Suitably gears down could such a motor be a power unit for a light weight electric vehicle. The DC motor I used was, by comparison, huge and weighty. It seems to me that HP is HP and 5.5. Hp is plenty for what I have in mind.My concerns as always is I see no other commercial manufacture doing this - or anyone else for that matter, only electric bikes use small motors. There has to be a reason I am not catching.Experts out there you opinion please.
