I want to make projects on Arduino UNO R3 . In fact i made one that is 3x3x3 LED Cube. But facing some problem.  I don't want to use Arduino all time. Please any one tell me the alternative for this. I want to do like this picture but i don't know the connections for this. PLEASE HELP ME

What is wrong with my Uno r3?

Please help.  I have 5 UNO R3 clones and I can't install them on my computer. When I plug them in two red LEDs light and the board comes up under Other Devices as a USB V2 device. I've tried every driver I can find, but none are recognized as suitable. I've tried 5 different boards, two computers Win 8.1 and Win 7. I've swapped cables and still nothing. I have a feeling it could be a lack of a bootloader on all the boards. How would I check if this is the case and how would I fix it? I have managed (easily) to install an Arduino Mega with no problems and I've managed to install many other devices so it's not a case of too dumb. Just a little dumb :-) Any help would be very much appreciated.      Stu

Arduino (uno r3) not in sync, help? Answered

So I'm pretty new to arduino. Got myself an Uno rev3, and all was well for a couple of weeks. Now however, whenever I try to upload a sketch I get an error message telling me this: avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00 Googling this has not solved anything. I don't think there's anything messed up with the IDE, as I get this in both arduino 1.0.1 and 1.0.2, as well as Visual micro. I tried everything I could think of. Resetting the board did nothing, neither did re-installing drivers or rebooting. The serial bounce test showed no errors, and the Rx LED blinks when I try to upload.  (If you are unaware, the bounce test means connecting Rx to Tx and opening a serial monitor. Everything you send should then be bounced back.) I'm currently thinking bootloader issues, since resetting the board does not make the pin 13 LED blink.  So, does anyone know what to do here? ------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE: I am an idiot. This whole time, I had the atmega328 plugged in backwards. It works now.

I am trying to load a webpage stored on SD card on the ethernet shield. I loaded the sketch webserver avalable in the library. THe output that i got on the serial monitor was server is at but i was unable to open the webpage any suggestions?? thank you

Arduino Uno R3 connected to adh8066 GSM?

I'm trying to have my Arduino Uno R3 send SMS texts to my phone with latitude/longitude coordinates with use of the GTPA013 GPS unit. The GPS is working fine but I'm having trouble with the AT codes sent to the GSM module. I keep getting errors and not the "OK" I should be getting. Below is the code I am using if that helps. Right Transistor for a apx. 50watt H-bridge? Answered

Currently i am trying to make an Arduino UNO R3 control a 50 Watt (12 volts @ 4 amps) motor with an H bridge and use the Pulse width modulation on the Arduino to control the transistors. However i don't know what would be the best choice for transistors? Also I am new to this so can some also explain how transistors are named?

What really happened to my Arduino Uno R3?

My Arduino  Uno R3 was working properly, but I connected it to a power supply board along with relays and GSM modem and some voltage fluctuations and blinking occurred. I immediately disconnected everything from it and connected Arduino to my PC. But I was not able to upload any programs to it. avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding I was getting this error report. I disconnected every connections from it, but still I was not able to upload programs to it. When connected to PC the 'ON' and 'L' LEDs are glowing steadily. No blinking occurs to 'L' LED even when the reset button is pressed. Also the micro-controller chip is getting overheated(By a little more than usual). There is no problem with my USB drivers because I am sure that it was working fine on Windows and Linux. Can you please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? -Thanks

arduino uno detection

Hello evry one i've got a weird issue :( i have an arduino uno R3 and it was working fine. now my computer doesn't detect it (i can't find even the com port or non identified devices in the device manager) that was when i was trying a GSM shieled with 9V 2Amp power like the datasheet says the weird thing that when i plug my arduino to the USB 3.0, the light "ON" on the board turn on, but when i plug it to USB 2.0, nothing happen. what i did: i remove evry other connection from the arduino i tried with another cable i tried other devises on my USB 2 and 3, they works fine i tried to use my arduino on another computer, same problem (i dont have another arduino to know what's making this problem) i tried to reset (with button and with jumper) -> the led L does not blink what i think the problem is: probably the problem is in the arduino not the computer maybe when i plugged the power 9V 2Amp and plug to the computer in the same time (and i dnt think it can be a problem) maybe there is a problem with the bootloader please help me, at least how can i know what it the problem, did i harm something or evrything

CH340G and Standalone UNO R3 Got ERROR "avrdude.exe: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00?"

I bough the CH340G USB-TTL with 6 pin (GND, CTS, VCC, TX, RX, DTR). The CH340 driver already installed, the arduino bootloader also already burn to ATmega328P-PU. When upload the sketch using FTDI or PL2303 or ATmega16U2 is okey and no error found. But if Ia using CH340 and connecteed below pin: Arduino VCC ==> VCC CH340 Arduino GND ==> GND CH340 Arduino RX ==> TX CH340 Arduino TX ==> RX CH340 Arduino RESET ==> DTR CH340 The error always appear as "avrdude.exe: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00?" event the speed on the port setting already change at 9600; 19200 or 115200. Iam also trying with IDE 1.6.0, 1.0.5 and 022 the error message are same. May be someone can help me please?

Arduino and DHT11

I am trying to make my ArduCAM work with my DHT11 sensor.I have done it successfully with Arduino UNO and want to do the same with ArduCAM. So far it is not working. Can't retrieve the temperature nor the humidity. The thing is that I thought as ArduCAM is based on UNO R3 it would work. Is it possible? Thanks

I have a question about Arduino Uno R3 stacking shields for a project

I just started on a Arduino UNO R3 project, Its basically a vehicle (a tank) with 2 separate DC Motors, that controls its movement. Another part of the tank would be a Camera dock, which would be made up of 2 Servo motors which basically moves the camera Up, Down, Left, Right. To control the Vehicle i would use an Xbox 360 wireless controller. So far the only thing i figured out is that i would require two shields, One would be the Motor shield (Controls Both dc gears and Servos:;=item41639e1f33), The other shield would be the USB Host shield (;=item4d0722b59f - this would be used for the 360 wireless receiver) . The thing is is it possible to combine all three, if not what would be alternative solutions?, thank you

Making your own digital assistant using ardino uno gsm shield Sd card module and VR shield

I am building a personalized assistant or a daily smart reminder sort of which speaks to you. Using the Arduino R3 and GSM Shield: SMS will be sent to the SIM card in the GSM shield connected to Arduino uno and the data fro the SMS will be extracted and stored on the SD card which will be displayed on an LCD screen. All of this will be voice activated and controlled.  Need help with the logic and working of this setup.

Arduino wifi sniffer

Is it possible to connect an Arduino Ethernet Shield R3 (official) to a wifi router then connect to a different router though the first router? I want to do this so I can make a robot that when it finds a known network it connects to it then dumps the data from the sd to an online server. Can anyone help me with this? what hardware would i need to remotely (R/C) control 8DC motors with an Arduino (Uno R3)?

Hello instructables I'm new to both Arduino and R/C; Basically I want to build a ground (tank-like) R/C device which includes 8 DC motors/ Channels. WHAT HARDWARE WOULD I NEED TO REMOTELY CONTROL EIGHT (8) DC MOTORS WITH AN ARDUINO?? (motor shield(s), transmitter/controller, receivers etc.??) could I use 2 x 4 channel receivers and 2 x 4 channel transmitters (build into one controller) or would i HAVE TO use 1 x 8 channel receiver + transmitter? ( an 8 ch transmitter + receiver is expensive) please give me your advise about my project (and if possible, try to give me affordable solutions :D ) since I'm a newb to both arduino and R/C would ANY help/ informations about this be very appreciated :D

Arduino Uno Synth project - Audio output questions

Hi! I am developing a synth/sampler project based on the Arduino Uno r3. This is my first electronics project ever and because of that reason I have some questions which I can't find a definite answer for on internet. The synth has two function. It has a tone generator using the ToneAC library. With code I have mimicked LFO and VCO functions, using potmeters I can adjust the frequency and LFO speed realtime. The other function is that I can trigger samples stored on a SD card using the TMRpcm library. The device will be used in nightclubs on high end soundsystems and PA. I am afraid I will damage the equipment with my device because I do not send a pure audio (AC?) signal. Currently the flow is like this: PWM output (pin 9, 10) -> voltage divider to 2.5v -> RC Low Pass Filter 15Khz -> LM386 amp with volume control -> mono jack output -> mixing desk -> amplifier -> speakers (the TMRpcm and ToneAC library share the same pin (9), I have fixed this by disabling the TMRpcm when the ToneAC is playing and vice versa. The mono jack is wired as follow. pin 9 goes to plus side of mono jack output, pin 10 to negative side. The TMRpcm pin 9 also needs to go to plus side of mono jack output, and mono jack negative needs to go to ground. Because I disable the ToneAC at that time I consider port 10 grounded because it not generating any sound so there is no signal/voltage running out of it, aka the IO pin is set to LOW) I am hoping that using the voltage divider I am within range of the Audio Line levels of a default mixers Line-IN (like Pioneer, Behringer, etc). The RC Low Pass Filter is used to filter of inaudible frequencies and clean up the sound a bit, the LM386 audio amp is used to amplify the signal and (hopefully) make it a real audio signal. The lowest frequency you can play with the synth is 100hz and the highest frequency is 3100hz. Because I lack a lot of knowledge in this field and because I do not own a oscilloscoop I can't say for sure if my output signal is harmful for the equipment and was hoping to get some guidance on my project on this forum.

Hey, I'm still semi new to Arduino, but I can read/write to analog/digital pins and communicate via I2C and SPI with other devices and micro controllers, but those are more widely known and I have here with me a ton of 8 PIN DIP, CAT35C104 Serial EEPROM IC's.. And with all that EEPROM lying around I wanted to put it to some use. But I am still not an expert and don't know how to begin to interface it to my Arduino UNO R3.. :L Specifically it shows: CAT35C104 Serial EEPROM 4kb data storage, 512 x 8 bit registers, 256 x 16 bit Can anyone help me get this to work? I also have trouble with "opcodes" kinda confused.. right now I know the times it takes to read/write, and the clock frequency (1MHz) And the pin diagram.. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Building a robot with an Arduino, Motor Shield, and PIR Sensor

Hi. I have been trying to correlate the movement of my robot based on a PIR Sensor. Specifically, I just want my robot to move randomly (forward, left and right) whilst stopping on a regular interval (say every 5 seconds) to activate the PIR Sensor to check if anything's moving. However, I can't seem to make anything move and even the PIR is not checking on anything on my code. Here's a list of what I am using * A standard Parallax PIR Sensor * Generic Motor Shield that drives 2 DC Motors. The car now runs for a short while whenever a motion is detected on the PIR sensor. That's basically how I programmed it to be for the meantime just to see if the shield and PIR Sensor work. However, how do I go into making the car to do these things: 1.  Run randomly for 5 seconds (forward, left and right) 2. Activate the PIR once the wheels have stopped. Then run another DC motor once motion is detected. 3. If no motion is detected on Step 2, Run step 1 again. Thank you very much!

avrdude stk500_getsync(): not in sync resp=0x30 error for Arduino Uno?/ Computer doesn't read Arduino Uno R3 anymore?

My Arduino used to work well till yesterday until I had made a mistake. I accidentally connected a 12v supply into the "5v" female header pin on the board instead of "Vin" and at the same time I had it connected to my computer usb. While uploading a sketch, I realized what mistake I had done in the wiring and pulled out the usb and disconnected the 12v supply. Since then my computer does not even read my Arduino anymore. However power LED and built in orange LED on pin 13 still turns on when I connect Arduino to my computer now. Can any body help me?? I know I was too careless, but please help me with some solution.

I want to purchase an Arduino probably from Jameco Electronics close to me. There is some confusion on which revision R1, R2, R3 is the most compatible to this community.  Most of the Unos cost between $30 and $40 US. I use a PC with XP windows  later probably be getting a shield 8 pin.

I want to run both servo sweep and servo knob at the same time But be controlled by a button.  Like servo swep starts up, i mash a button, then servo knob comes on and i can manually control the servo. then push a button (either the same or another) and servo sweep comes back. How many super bright white LEDs can be connected in series and in parallel to an Arduino pin?

I'd like to make an 8x8x8 LED cube with super bright white LEDs with the Arduino. I've thought of two ways to do this. I just want to know what my limitations are and if I should use red LEDs instead and what are the limitations on them? I'm using an Arduino Uno R3.

Arduino GPS Tracker Help?

Hey guys, I'm using a arduino uno r3, an adafruit ultimate gps shield, and a 16gb SD card. I have the Adafruit GPS Library and the "friendlier" SD library which is in the details for the shield online. Whenever I try to use any programs on the arduino and shield at all, it says: Ultimate GPSlogger Shield Card init. failed! Any way to fix this so I can start receiving and logging the GPS data?

Control arduino outputs on a web page with an arduino?

So what I'm trying to do is control, let's say and LED, that's on output 13 on my arduino over a web page from anywhere in the world. I have an arduino uno R3 and an Ethernet shield. I've looked for tutorials but I'm really new and I'm not good at adapting other peoples code for my use, so does anyone have a simple sketch I can use to turn on an LED from a webpage?

[arduino] Computer PSU damaged my servos?

Hi guys! I was hoping You could help me with sort of a problem :( So I bought this Modecom 400W power supply and hooked up 2 servos to molex 5v line and ground. For control signal i used standard arduino uno "example" code. Servos were buzzing for a while but they did not react to commands. Did I need a power driver for the servos? I think they should draw as much current as they need from the line, shouldn't they? So beforehand, I connected the motors directly to arduino for power and they worked. Now - nothing ;/ Nothing inside looks damaged (I think) Anybody had similar problems? Arduino UNO R3 Tower Pro MG 996R

How to use gear motor 9 with Arduino

I am new to robotics. I want to make a robot using Arduino Uno R3. I need to use Gear Motor 9 for that The problem is that motor needs 50mA current. But arduino only outputs only 40mA current. I want to supply the motors with another power source and use a switch to connect both the circuits. Can you please tell me what type of switch I can use. Thanks in Advance. P.S. Arduino/Servo Pan/Tilt: What pins?

I am new to electronics, not to mention micro-controllers. I & my son-in-law, have both bought Arduino boards. I have the Mega2560 & he bought the Make Ultimate Micro-Controller Pack with Netduino & Uno R3 (on sale at Micro-center for $14). I have found several servo libraries/sketches for controlling 2 servos, however, I can't find any actual schematics, eagle files, layout drawings, instructions on how to wire the motors to the Arduino! Can some one help??

How to control DIY linear actuator with end switches and sensor input?

I want to build a DIY 12v DC linear actuator, using Arduino uno. The actuator is DIY so it does not have any position tracking. I want to use 2 relays to control the direction of the actuator, two end switches, and one sensor input (preferably a photo resistor) The sensor, and end switches are connected to Arduino UNO R3 as inputs and relays as outputs. When the sensor is energized motor moves forward until it hits End Switch No 1 and stops; When the sensor its not energized motor moves backwards until it hits End Switch No 2 and stops: And be able to repeat this program whenever  the sensor is energized. I would be greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this sketch, because i don't have any experience with Arduino code. Thank you and have a grat day.

Arduino time base servo sweep code help

Hi,     I need help on creating arduino code for a time base sweeping servo. Specifically i would like to have my servo sweep 180 degrees and back to center every 20 minutes and repeat indefinably. Im sure its a fairly simple code but just new at coding in general I have looked at servo sweep code sample in the arduino library but I dont know how to implement it with a timer. my arduino is not recognized by my computer as a device. i need help, one is legit the other isnt any advice is welcome?

One arduino is legit the other fake. when i press the reset button on both the pin 13 led does not light. there is no IC on any one of them (i'll buy it later). my legit arduino is not recognized by the computer but the other one is recognized. can i please get help, i need to make a quadrotor and need any troubleshooting advice or help. worst case i need to make my own arduino. Model- uno r3 any advice is accepted.

I'm trying to build a line follower robot and I don't know the first thing about writing code.  I like to play with electronics but have never attempted building anything that requiered programing so I thought I would start simple.  I have an Arduino Uno R3, Pololu QTR-8 (only using 6 of the sensors) and an Ardumoto Motor Shield based on L298 H-bridge logic (not even sure what that means) Are there examples of codes existing on how to connect three componetns together?  What do I need to do next in order to connect these three parts and imput a code so it will smothly follow back tape on a white surface?

Battery life indicator for Arduino powered fish feeder

Hi all, So I am basically a noob in electronics and a 1st time arduino user for my project. I need to do an automatic fish feeder and this is what I have in mind: I'm gonna use an arduino UNO R3 to connect it to these following components: - a 16 x 2 LCD Display (connected to RTC chip) - a small DC motor - 2 pushbuttons So these are the main components and I need the arduino to be portable ( So has to be battery powered - Maybe a 9V batt) As such I have 2 questions: 1) Is it possible for ALL the components to run using power from arduino? 2) I need to add a battery life indicator as well.. how do I go abt doing it? Hope you guys could help me

Which Stepper motor and which controller?

Hello, Still in research mode for my own CNC machine which will be Arduino based. But, as everyone is using different motors and controllers (drivers?), how do I choose the right one for me? My machine should be able to do soft materials like wood and plexi/acrylic but I als want to be able do mill/cut aluminum, as I am restoring an old car and parts are not easy to get hold off. For my board I was thinking of an Arduino UNO (like most) but then, which motor to go for? Uni or bipolar? 17, 23, 34? And which driver? gShield / CNC Shield V3 / Dual step driver? A4988? 1 board per motor or can I combine them? How to get a smoother run then 1/8 steps? (Found CNC Shield V3.0 + UNO R3 + 4pcs A4988 Driver for £15???) I have never soldered anything, but I am a fast learner. So far when it comes to electronics, I managed to hardwire a stereo without harness into my car, speakers, radiator fan circuit and some door controlled LED's. Far away from soldering of building a CNC, but I am up for the challenge. I know there are a lot of questions in this post, but I appreciate any explanation why someone chose one motor over the other etc.... Any information is highly appreciated. I rather research more then building something and then have to start over again. Kind regards, Red

Using an Arduino's PWM to control a DC motor hooked up to a SainSmart L298N board?

Hi Instructables! I am new to making electronics, completely. So please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. I am working on making a UGV rover based on an Arduino UNO R3 and accompanied by a SainSmart L298N Module (to drive 2 DC motors). I am capable of getting the DC motor to work in either direction but don't know how to control its speed. pins 5 and 6 are either high or low (always opposite) to control direction, pin 11 enables the motor. The board is powered by the Arduino's 5v power supply. Here is my setup (it's just really basic so far): void setup(){   pinMode(11, OUTPUT);   pinMode(5, OUTPUT);   pinMode(6, OUTPUT); } void loop(){   digitalWrite(11, HIGH);   digitalWrite(5, LOW);   digitalWrite(6, HIGH); } If someone could show me how to control motor speed using this setup it would be very helpful. What stepper motor should I buy?

I am new to stepper motors and didn't have one. Just need to make sure that I will buy the correct stepper. My project is about DSLR camera pan + tilt and for slider, so it will be 3 steppers. School Project - Arduino Personal Locator Beacon

Hi All, I'm currently in Year 12, undertaking my major design project.I have chosen to design and produce an emergency survival kit that comes with an in-built personal locator beacon. The personal locator beacon must have the capability of transmitting geolocation data to emergency services for atleast 72 hours. It must be able to work in remote areas.I have purchased a range of parts in order to help create this project, of which, I will list below.- Arduino Uno r3 Development Board- Arduino compatible Long Range LoRa Shield- Arduino Compatible GPS Receiver Module- 2600mAg Metallic Power Bank- 5/5.8GHz 5dBi Wireless Networking AntennaI have been experimenting with Ardunio & Components for a while and now understand the basics. I have managed to get the GPS module to work and receive geolocation data. However, I have only been able to do this when the Arduino is plugged in and powered by a computer. For my project, I need to be able to send geolocation data to a specific source, whilst on the go, in remote areas.I plan to power my components by using a portable power pack (similar to a portable phone charger), however, I am unsure of how to program the gps module to send geolocation data to the long range shield, which will then send the geolcationd data to emergency services (it can be a proof of concept but it needs to be communicated to something such as a cell phone or a radio frequency).I would really appreciate any advice or information that can help me develop this project or point me in the right direction. How to make a 5 channel Vu meter (equalizer)

Hey guys, I'm planning on building a sound equalizer display aka Vu Meter, with 10 segment LED. My idea is to make a central sound system with analog I/O for 5.1, with three stereo amps DIY kits, each one for Front (LR), Back (LR) and Sub/Central. I've been using a 2.1 Logitech since my Samsung 5.1 home theater died, and its not enough.  At first, I though about buying a new 5.1 system, but my budget is not enough right now, and as I always loved to build myself, I though, why not? In resume, its a central with volume control, LED to indicate volume output, and 5 rows of 10-segment LED for graphic equalizer. I'll attach an image with the sketch of the frontal look. Its not final, but it may be enough. Now the problem: My knowledge about this sound frequency area is pretty poor. I can't figure out how to make each LED Segment for an specific hertz. I'd like to divide it into 60Hz, 230Hz, 910Hz, 3kHz and 14kHz. For material, I'm planning on using laser cutted MDF for the box and glass for the front panel, to give it a "pro" look. I may change it for acrylic in the end.  The tools I own right now are:  1x Arduino Uno R3, which I intend to use it for the prototype and tests. 1x Arduino Mini, I'd rather use this one instead of an non-writtable CI for final project, as I may want to change codes and add stuff to it later. 5x 10-Segment LED Bar 5x Lm3914 I'd like to get to know how to divide and convert the frequencies of the sound into graphic, tips about the code for arduino and material list and mounting guide for each segment...
