Hey guys! With my sister's help, I was able to get a video of Viper uploaded. Enjoy, :)

Hi all, This is kind of an Outdoors/Tech thread. I work for a nature center and I am developing a watercraft program on our river. To help promote it, I would like to purchase some action cams to mount on canoes and kayaks, and post the videos and images on Facebook and Youtube. I have a $300 budget for these cameras. Ideally, I would like to be able to purchase two cams, including memory and additional accessories (mounts). However, I know that a good quality camera can be pricey, so if absolutely necessary, I will cut this down to one cam. If you are miraculously able to suggest a cam that is priced so that I can buy more than two, I would be amazed and eternally grateful. I do have some requirements: - Waterproof (Preferred camera is waterproof in itself, though an inexpensive case would be fine) - Durable - High Quality Image and video (If the video is shaky, what's the point?) - 2 Hour battery life, though 1-1.5 would be acceptable These are not required though I really would prefer them -View Screen (A lot of these cams have to be plugged into a computer or synced with a smart phone to view. Not great.) - Removable Battery to switch out if one dies. Do you have any recommendations within this price range? Also, what kind of memory would you suggest for about 1-2 hours of footage per camera? Thanks

I've noticed there are alot of "bolt action knex gun"'s, and it really ticks me off when I click to see that they're simple ram pull, please, don't call them bolt actions. Also, still got my semi auto, made a very close to true bolt action (the breech doesn't open when the bolt is pulled back) its my 2nd bolt action, also, once I've posted my Semi auto V4 and my Bolt Action v2, I'll make a single shot, (or mag fed if I'm lucky) that when the bolt is pulled back it exposes a breech to put one or two bullets in, this will be shellfed, so you can't exactly shout about the singleshot. Thankyou for reading this, Yerjoking

I would like to make a KNEX pump action rail action gun but the trigger is driving me crazy do any of you know of a good trigger mech that would not interfere with the pump but still would hold the rail car in place and not bend the top rail. if you have ideas or a trigger mech that you think would work please comment and tell me. Thanks everybody.

Ok so i got fed up of people saying that they're guns are bolt action when they arent. so i got this idea that an actual bolt action mechanism would have some sort of carrier that would pull the ram back and then return to the forward position. so what do people think?
Topic by phlorgan | last reply
Pretty much all of this morning for me was spent designing a real, true, bolt-action mechanism. I had my dad help me by telling me how bolt-action guns work. I doubt I'll add a magazine to this for shells, but if I can, I will. Anyways, here's some pictures. Video explaining concept and everything coming around 6 PM tonight CDT (GMT -6) So in about 6 hours.

Ever see something so awesomely bad that you just had to own it? Earlier today, whilst browsing the isles of the local 99 cents store I came across an American Indians Action Figure set. I saw that there were a few normal (I use the term loosely) looking figures, but there was also this gem. For some reason the white guy of the set was depicted as some space age looking dude wielding a huge silver gun. I bought him, and one of the others (for strangeness comparison). I wonder who would win in a fight between the two.

What is the knex pump action mech, I understand how to do the trigger but I cannot understand how the pump attaches onto the ram and how it stays on the body of the gun. Has anyone got a picture or an easy to build gun which doesn't use too many pieces and demonstrates the mech well, I don't care about power or reliability, I just want to understand the basic principles of the mech
Question by I.E. | last reply
Could anyone post a link to a bolt action mechanism or gun that doesn't require too many pieces. I have already tried the zkar v2 and the ar-4 but I didn't have enough pieces. I do not have any ball socket pieces and I only have one hinge pair. The ar-4 required too many tan locks. I also do not want to break any pieces. If there is not anything which can help me please post a link to an instructables of good, powerful gun that does not require many pieces, preferably a rifle. Thanks
Question by Hewwo... | last reply
Hey Guys, I recently made this break action gun. I know it's nothing that new and that's why I didn't post it, but I might if you want me to. If I do decide to post it, I would change a few things. It's not the best looking gun out there and I would probably work on that, but it functions perfectly. It shoots white rods about 30 feet. It has an eject lever to eject spent shells. That's the biggest problem I've seen on other break action guns. I'll explain everything in the image notes so be sure to read them. Tell me what you think needs to be changed. Let me say this gun is more made for fun not war. Killer~SafeCracker

I was looking around Deviantart where I searched "custom action figures" to see what new was being posted in that area. I came across a user who had pictures of this flesh-tone and gray colored action figure that lacked details. When I read the description, I found out it was a new type of action figure called the Blanx Customizable Action Figure, which would allow people to come up with their own designs. I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of it, but I figured I'd post the link here, as it may be useful to not just action figure modders, but for artists as well (in fact, according to the site, the Blanx Customizable Action Figure can be used as a sculpting armature, to which a couple of members in the user gallery have used this figure for). http://www.gonativetoys.com/index.html

I had this idea for awhile. Basically you combine the pumping action of a pump and the loading action of a bolt action to get something with a high RoF and high power without needing a turret. The idea is quite simple really. My idea is to have a bolt loading pin attached to a pump that contains the magazine. when you pull the magazine back far enough it will load a round into the chamber. When you move the pump back the bolt pin will push the piece of ammo forward with it. Anyone feel up to making something like this?

Here is my knex H.A.S.A, that stands for hammer action side arm. It can shoot 15-20ft with one rubberband. It just a single shot hammer action pistol. I do have a reason why I post this one. The mechanism can be made much smaller and more compact, being able to fit in a Colt realistic revolver shell. All you'd need to build is the revolver out of grey spacers and scotch tape. It could be done, I may or may not try and build one. Whatcha guys think?
Topic by DELETED_Blue Mullet 2 | last reply
Alright, I've had this idea for like forever and I finally got a working prototype yesterday. It has a pump with two prongs on the side which catch the rubber band bow as it is fired and then pulls it back. The trigger is a triangle shape so the rubber band can slide over the top, but still be caught on the back. The system has a few kinks, but mostly it just isn't that smooth. I hope to work them out and eventually be posting.

Please try to make it off of my crude drawing. If you post an ible please give me credit or tell me if it has been done. If so post link. The way it works is when you pump it the pusher hits the top most ammo. That pushes it onto the ammo lifter. When you pump forward that pulls the string which raises the ammo lifter. That then becomes part of the bottom of the barrel. Then you cock the gun and fire. Repeat. P.S. The scriblls on the paper are not hyroglfics they are words.

I have built a knex pistol with a slide on top which also has a handle mag!! it's magazine holds white rods but it can fire any ammo. sorry the pics are dark but i couldnt use flash because my battery was so low the camera was only on for about 2 seconds. 1. Old version. 2&3. New model-with new trigger. 4. View from beneath the gun. 5. View from the rear. 6. Close up at the front of the barrel and slide. 7. The gun with the slide removed. 8. The underneath of the slide. 9. The gun with the slide removed. 10. The top of the slide. 11. Gun without the slide from the rear. 12. Back of the slide when it is removed.

Hey guys! After the "rebuff" I received from ZakS and FlyingFish10 (and more kind comments from TheDunkis and Raz1r Knex Bull3t) about how my K'NEX Gun: Declaration (R2) looked just like a ZKAR (to which I disagreed), I decided to rebuild and heavily edit my K'NEX gun Declaration (R2), changing the body and mechanisms so heavily that the comparison between it and the ZKAR would be virtually non-existent. After about three days of hard work, I have finally come up with this gun, the R5. With a brand new trigger mechanism and bullet transfer system, this gun is ENTIRELY different from any other bolt action gun you will find. While the bolt itself is heavily similar to the ZKAR / Zaktangle, almost everything else is entirely unrecognizable (except the magazine, that's a pretty standard yellow rod magazine). Features: Brand new trigger mechanism Brand new bullet transfer system Heavily edited (and improved) pin guide setup Comfortable stock Very reliable New magazine setup, with magazine breach Comfortable grip Flip-up back sight Great range: 50 - 70 ft. Preloadable magazine Internal magazine pusher 12 rd. magazine (could be increased) This version is by no means finished, but when I do finish it, I'll be sure to post a full set of instructions. Check out the image notes for more info. Tell me what you guys think I should change or add to this gun. I'd love to hear your comments. Quick Tip: When you have a magazine that is full of rounds try and make the last round different in some way, so that when you shoot the gun you know when the magazine is empty. This will prevent you from shooting the magazine pusher, and make it so that you don't have to keep track of how many rounds you've shot. -The Red Book of Westmarch

Ok, to start off, If you are wondering why I dont have a gun to demonstrate this concept, its because I just thought of this a few hours ago.So anyways, I have an idea for a pump action concept. This idea would work like thisthe rubberbands would be hooked onto the pump instead of the gun via Y connectors on the pump.when the pump pulls the ram back, the rubberbands do not expand or contractafter the ram goes behind the trigger, the pump is pushed forward, expanding the bands and giving the gun its powerthe pump hooks into a locking mechanismthe trigger is pulled, and either recoil or another mechanism hooked to the trigger unlocks the locking mechanism for the pumpThe advantage of this over other pump action guns would be that the pump would be easy to pull back, no matter how many rubberbands are on the pump.

Right, so my current project is a lever action rifle that is ACTUALLY a lever action. I've seen a few off-spins, like knex mad's and RMConstruction's, but none of them used the lever to pull a round from a magazine and load it into the chamber. I plan on using this system, and was wondering if you guys would find it to be worth it if the rifle fired a simple round made of a grey clip connected to an orange flat connector with a green rod as opposed to using shells, because the shell mag I created was so frustrating in its connections and stiffness that I scrapped it. the lifting mech was also just absurd, so the pictures are of me manually loading it to show the idea. I included a couple pics of the shell mag as I destroyed it, just in case someone can use the idea and do a better job. Any input would be much appreciated! Oh, and the lever will pull back the ram as well, so all it would take is one swing of the lever, and you fire, then repeat.

The black is the gun body, the red is the ramrod, the yellow is the pump, the green are the wheels, the blue could be either string or fishing line. Theoreticly i think that this gun can hold as much power as you can pump if you use high quality fishing line and you have built a strong gun body. I think that this could be a very powerful shotgun if built right. i myself have tried to do this many times through but have never sucseded. I would like to see someone give a shot at this one. I looked around extinsivly and could find no gun like this. I give a thousand congrates to whoever sucsedes in building this. Also if someone does happen to build it I would like partial credit and instructions. I would like to thank all of you for taking you time to read this through.

A Knex hammer action turret rifle. The gun shoots inconsistently, anywhere from one foot to 18 feet. Sometimes the bullet wont even come out of the barrel. It was made purely for looks over mechanism, but it still functions.

When I go to Top Right You > Settings > Settings tab I get the error unhandled action: NONE irregularly when clicking around the different dialogs. (Profile Customize Profile Images Email Alerts Change Email...) So far, it has happened under Profile, Change Email, Groups, and Private RSS Feed, but it is so intermittent and I would not be surprised if it happened in every choice (if I clicked about 1000 times.). A very minor bug with no consequences, but interesting.

I was looking around and I found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa5SXX9TNW8 My question is, are there any knex guns that use a similar mech as this? Shots are loaded from the bottom chamber and the pump reloads a shot. like the zkar v2 only pump action. It doesn't have to look this realistic obviously. Now I want to buy a bunch of black legos. :)

Instructables users have inspired others yet again. Using LinuxH4x0r's Light Bulb Greenhouse and the dual homemade responses to the $650 Light Bulb Lamp--by bumpus and CYNICALifornia--as a starting point, Treehugger has added to the list of ways to reuse old incandescent light bulbs. Plenty of options to both make something useful and help protect the environment at the same time.Link

Well, all the great K'nex gunners have snipers(besides oodalumps , but his semi-auto makes up for that :-) ), so I thought i would make one. its nothing really new, nothing innovative. Just that it has a bolt to pull back the ram, that allows for rapid fire. It's could be as powerful as the other snipers but i can't put to much power because i have to pull the ram back with one hand(i am wimpy so you guys will have more power). it has a 9 round mag that could be extended if you wanted. Has a block trigger hooked up to a true trigger. The front is just a make barrel. Bipod folds up and hooks onto the front of the fake barrel. i am sorry that the bolt is hard to see in the gun, it on the right side. only the left side is shown in the first two pics. its in the third pic but is kind of hard to see. it works by having a "door" in the side of the barrel for the bold to travel in and out of. the bolt need tape because the orange connectors would come off instead of pulling back the ram(the ram is the same from the pack sniper). it has just your basic scope on it, nothing to new on that part. yea, i think thats it. instructions are being made.

I haven't posted anything for a few months, and I decided to begin work on something that would blow everyone away. My goal was to create the most efficient, most power, most versatile mag fed knex rifle ever. I discovered a way to do that when I came up with the Bullet Transfer System (BTS) that you saw in my BTPA pump action rifle. However, the BTPA had a several drawbacks. The first was the size of it. It was just way too big. Second was that the ammo it shot was connector ammo, and would start spinning out very quickly. Last was that the ram barely had any time to accelerate, as the bullet was placed right above the handle. I suddenly thought of a design that would solve these problems, quickly drew them out, and began work. The result was the most efficient, versatile, and powerful mag fed gun ever made, the Vice CKG. CKG stands for Compact Knex Gun, and I am truly proud if it. The trigger is a variation of Zak's so I give him credit for that. So exactly how efficient is this gun? I was able to get 60+ feet with a string of two #64s with the long range round. The yellow rods get around 50 feet, only because they spin out after a while, but with two #64s unsharpened yellows can go right through a box from a few feet away. What's the secret to this incredible efficiency? First off, the firing pin is a grey rod+a gray connector long, giving it that extra room to accelerate. Second, the trigger is as far back as possible. Third, the rods are placed as far away from the ram, giving it time to accelerate. Finally, the BTS allows the bullet to stay in place with nearly no contact between the bullet and the gun. THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL, EFFICIENT, AND VERSATILE MAG FED GUN OUT THERE. (I know that statement may sound a little bold, but I am very confident in saying it) Pros 60+ feet range single shot with two #64s 50 feet range with yellows with two #64s Extremely versatile (perfect for long and close range) Looks great 15 yellow rod mag capacity You will dominate the battlefield Cons Reload time (for me anyways) This video is a little out of date, I have made some upgrades since it was made/

When joined Ibles, I knew that I didn't have any guns ready to upload, so, I decided to post some reviews, being that I already had some guns built. The S2 pistol by Sharir1701 seemed to be a logical choice, so I grabbed some blue rods did a little bit of testing. Please realize that even though I have just joined the site, I have a wide range of experience with knex guns, such as the ZKAR, TR8, Racker Rifle, and many of Red Book of Westmarch's replicas. In this review I am not going to do the ratings on a scale of one to ten, because Knex guns differ so much. Say you have a gun that shoots 70 feet. You give it a eight out of ten, because that is great range. However, the SRV3 shoots 500 feet, so 70 feet is NOT eight out of ten any more. Due to that, a truly honest review would rate even very nice guns quite low, due to the fact something will probably is better. If you don't understand this, that is OK, because I do, and I am the one writing the review. Also note that this one has Sharir's pin guide holder thingy. Anyway, let's jump right into the review! RANGE: Frankly, this gun does not live up to Sharir's claim of 100+ feet. I only got 65-70 angled using two size 117 bands, which is still great range for any gun. Sharir says that it will only get that range with three bands. Sometime ago, I used 3 and did not 100 feet. I don't remember what exactly I got with three, but I am sure it didn't get past 75-80 feet. RELIABILITY: This is one of the gun's good points. Knex bolt actions don't have a great reputation for being reliable, but the S2 works nice and smooth. When I decided to review the pistol, I thought it would be nice to test the reliability and give ya'll the numbers. Here they are. I put the gun through two hundred rounds, and it had: 3 failures to fire, 4 failures to load, the pin guide broke twice, the bolt broke once, and the chambering rod popped out of the bolt twice. Now this sounds REALLY bad. However, the pin guide issues, the chambering rod issues and the failures to load were my fault. The pin guide and chambering rods broke when I was jerking the bolt back too vigorously, and the rounds that wouldn't load were because I was manually chambering the round, instead of having a return band chamber it. after I added the band, no trouble. ROF: Now this is one part I didn't really test. It charges slower then a ZKAR, but faster then most pin guns. It is good enough for most uses in a Knex war. COMFORT: Pretty comfortable. The handle is quite good, and I think it would be even better for someone with larger hands then mine. The problem is that there is not really a good place for your other hand to go except for the magazine, which doesn't make the best handle. To be truthful, it is kinda awkward to hold. It is too big for a pistol, but doesn't have a stock like a rifle. (Ok, you COULD use the pin guide holder as a stock, but it doesn't work that well) CUT PARTS: The gun is fine when it comes to these. There are several recommend, but you only need one cut gray rod for the chambering rod. ALL IN ALL: This is an awesome gun. not too many pieces, looks kinda cool, and is fairly accurate. The ammo is blue rods, and i have a couple hundred of those, so it works great for me. Range seems about right, and it is very fun to shoot. In a war it would do pretty good, but the ammo is hard to find in the grass. The mag is a bit small, holding around 13 rods due to the mag pusher taking up quite a bit of space in the mag. This, a TR8, and a ZKAR would make a fine war arsenal.

Instructables user 'harveytwoface999' was wicked awesome for putting up the details how to paint the Stinky Diver figure from the Action League Now series. I personally would like to see all guides on how to make every character, but I'd really like to see one for 'The Flesh' first. I have the Conan The Barbarian base figure needed to get it done. Now I just need instructions! If this question goes unanswered for a few weeks, I might just go ahead and give it a try myself.
