If a movie is ever made about you, which actor would you like to play you?

To start, if a movie is ever made about my life, I would like to have George Clooney as my first choice, Gerard Butler as second choice and Pierce Brosnan third. I share a striking resemblance to these actors (tongue in cheek). My theme song would be Forever Man by Eric Clapton.

Script I Wrote

This is a script i wrote for my graphic design class for a video project im doing. this is the first time me doing this. i didnt give the actors names because i wanted it to relate to people wathcing it and say "oh that sounds like me..." I was wantting to make something emotional that would motivate people to keep pushing on even when times are hard.( i will have pictures of story board up latter) hope u enjoy it :D By: Nick Melinich Female Actress *(voice spoken in her head, not out loud. More the actress talks, the more emotional she gets. By the end of her line, the actress will be sitting with her knees pressed into her chest, arms wrapped around her legs (like she is hugging for comfort), and lower part of her face buried in-between her knees, back facing the door, on the ground crying .Monolog show what the actress is experiencing, like getting bullied/ getting bad grades/ sleeping at the her desk/ and feeling alone.)* “I can’t… take this anymore… everyday just gets harder and harder… bad grades … no one to talk to…getting picked on……. Feeling alone… I can hardly sleep anymore, my new bed had become the desk im at, and my pillow is a cold hard text book… I feel like im losing control, my life is just slowly slipping through my fingers… when I attempted to stretch my hands to its full extent, deep into this dark abyss. Trying to grasp motivation/hope/happiness…no matter how much I try… I always to come out with a handful of disappointment… what’s the point anymore… in coming to school… im just set to fail anyways… no matter what…” Actor Enters the Room *shot will show the actress in the middle of the “year book” floor with her back towards the door, sitting (like in previous scene). Camera is eye leveled with her. Actress looks like she hit “rock bottom” with hair messed up on one side. Actor creeps in slowly to check on the actress. When the door clicks behind him the actress will be startled by it and jump and turn around to face the actor* ACTOR “Hey… are you all right?” Actress *turns and slowly walks away, arms folded* “just go way…” Actor “no, you seem like you need someone to talk to” Actress “(pauses, shallow breath in to chest) I can’t do this anymore…” *sobs* Actor “do what?” Actress “(quiet, monotone voice) school/ all this work/grades/ life/ just everything…(slowly raises voice) its all just to much, I question why I even come in at all, there’s nothing to look forward to, there is no one I can talk to, there is nothing for me… im alone… I give up!” *goes back onto the floor, full face into knees, crying.* Actor “You’re not alone… im here, there are teachers here that care… you have friends that care, your surrounded by people that care and are willing to help… if you give up now, you will be throwing away all of the years that you have spent learning…  you wont be able to do anything with your life… and that is when you will be truly alone… even though the hard, challenging times. You have to keep pushing through, even though there is no sign of hope.” Actress *slowly turns towards actor* “your right…” Actor “don’t worry about it “ Actress *walks up and hugs him* “thank you so much” Actor *pulls away from hug, looks at her and smiles* “do you want some help with your work?” Actress *wipes her face dry of tears and smiles back* *Says in a sad tone, but more happily* “(pauses) yes I would.” Ending shot *actor helps actress out with her over bearing work, and cheers the actress up and gives her that motivation to work again*

How do yo do a convincing STABBING effect for a low budget movie ?

Whats the best/convincing way to do a STABBING effect for a movie on a very low budget, less than $1000? The scene calls for someone to be repeatedly stabbed (in some scenes its the chest, others the stomach, back, exct.) with an military/hunting style knife. We obviously DO NOT want to hurt the Actress/Actors so I need to know if anyone out there has any tips or a step by step instructable on how to pull it off? Thank You

What is up with all the 'bots?

I have gotten many comments on one of my Instructables from what appears to be 'bots. It's getting annoying and makes me wonder what they're getting out of it besides phishing for me to go to their websites (digitalsyndrome.com, for example). They have names like shoppingwombat, sneerstab, massespolenta, washtoes, mildfrequent, monkeyglom, etc.; either no pictures or photos of actresses as avatars. They describe themselves as "Unapologetic twitter advocate. Food maven. Problem solver. General analyst. Wannabe web specialist." and other inane terms.  Although they seem to abide by the rules of the site by being polite and use two-word comments like "that's calme" (sic), "Its trendy", "Its ideal", and so on, they are really getting to be a pain. Has anyone at Instructables looked into this obvious spamming?  Thanks!

Help!! LED Candles- Magnetic Switch

Hi,I am working on a Play and we need candles. Since we can't have open flames on stage (fire code=lame) So I want to build or purchase some LEDs candles to use. Here's the catch- I want the actresses to be able to "light" the candles. So my idea was to put a rare earth magnetic in a match book and have them hold it near the candle to start up the LED. The only problem is that with all of the magnetic switches I have seen they are momentary. I want to be able to remove the magnetic field and still have the light be on but once I put it back towards the candle I want to turn the candle back off. Any suggestions of a switch like this or any other bright (no pun intended) ideas?ThanksAll comments/ questions/ concerns are welcomed. Thanks again.Joe

How do i build my acting resume up if i have no way to get to New York or Los Angelas anytime soon?

Hello, I am an aspiring actress and I live very far from any prestigious acting schools, and the job prospects for actors are slim to none around this podunk little town. All of the extra jobs I could do like community theater or school plays are mainly musical, although I love music, I'm not that great at singing or playing some of the instruments to want to make a career out of it. I'm really interested in acting for films though, making people feel something is the reward for doing something like this and it feels so great and I love it so much that doing it for a living would really make me happy! I was just wondering, how do I build my acting resume up if I have no way to get to New York or Los Angelas any time soon?

What is a smooth, or "rounded" aggregate, like sand, but NOT abrasive ?

I made an hourglass as a prop for a local production of "The Wizard of Oz".  The "witch" (the actress') still has it at her  home.  The "glass", which s actually plastic, & made of sections cut from 4 plastic goblets- is becoming less clear because the white sand I used is fogging up the surface with very fine scratches.  I'd like to replace this sand (that I got from a craft store, like Joann's) with an aggregate that has smooth round pieces, not rough ones.  These wont be so scratchy, and will also be less apt to cram together and clog the narrow passage from the top chamber to the lower one.  I googled these words, and got some very technical info about the science of manufacturing concrete and plastic products, but nothing I could use to find or even name what I could buy and use.  ALSO, is there a best compound for polishing the inside of the "glass" to restore the original clarity?  In other things, I've used brass polish, and even toothpaste!

Computer Science Project: Automated Follow Spot

Hi all!  This is my first post on instructables. I've been using this website for years to facilitate many projects, however this is the first time I'll actually be posting any questions of my own on the forums! Exciting! I'll cut to the chase, for my computer science A - Level I am required to complete a programming project, complex enough to get me a good grade, but feasible enough to actually complete! I decided to take a more practical approach and have arrived at the decision to make a robot of some kind. As I'm heavily involved with the drama department in the school I wanted to create something that could also help them. I decided upon an automated device that can use some form of trilateration to determine the position of a person on stage and then position a light to light them up. For those who have more experience in the world of technical theatre, I'm talking about an Automated follow spot. For those who don't here is a link to a wiki page.    The premise being that a person normally has to control a follow spot, pointing it at the person (or people) on stage, to light them up. An issue we have is that sometimes we don't have enough stage hands to operate the follow spots, which means they're left by the wayside. My idea will negate the need to have a human operator and should simply follow the person around the stage. The main idea at the moment is to use a single long range bluetooth transmitter, attached to a wristband (which would be worn by the actor/actress) and have three long range receivers, which in conjunction can trilaterate the position of the actor/actress and position the light to illuminate them. I have a couple of  questions: 1. Firstly, is this feasible? This is a project that I really want to see through to fruition, especially as it will count towards my final A-level. For someone of my level of knowledge/experience - is this possible? 2. What would be the best method for transmitting the radio signal? Bluetooth sprung to mind instantly, but is this the best option? I know there might be potential pitfalls in that a theatre is full of metal items and interfering signals that could disrupt this, so are there any better alternatives? I know there are only two questions for now, but I've only just started the design of the project. I'm sure when I get seriously into it I'll have many many more, but I trust that the good people of instructables will be able to provide some help! Thanks again, Eliot C-Hill

How can you become famous when you dont even live close to Los Angelas, Hollywood, New York, etc? Answered

Im an inspiring singer actress dancer etc. I will take anything that will take me to the big time.  I love to sing and act the most, but I will take anything that comes my way.  My parents don't really support me in what I like to do.  They say to do stuff local first and I have been doing a couple things but they won't take me to an audition in like Columbus, Ohio or Fort Wayne, Indiana.  People have been telling me you will never make it to the top you're not good enough.  I would like to prove them wrong.  I would like to become famous before i get in to high school so I have like 2-3 years yet to go. I would like to inspire people to follow their dreams but it is really hard to inspire people when nothing has got me anywhere yet. I am thinking about becoming famous from my house and send videos to directors, but I don't think they will have enough time to watch the videos I would send in. I need as much help as I can get. Thank You So Much!

The real gas guzzler: Car that turns hydrogen into electricity hits the road

Car that turns hydrogen into electricity hits the roadIntroducing the family car that runs on hydrogen and pumps out only pure water from its exhaust pipe.Honda's FCX Clarity is the world's first production hydrogen-powered 'fuel cell' car - with its own onboard power station which creates electricity to drive its motor. It has a range of 280 miles and a top speed of 100mph, yet emits no harmful pollution. And it is about to become the latest 'must-have' accessory for the Hollywood set wanting to show off their green credentials.Just the thing at a time when oil prices are rocketing to record highs. The only drawback? Finding somewhere to fill it up.The FCX is the result of nearly 20 years of research and many prototypes by the Japanese firm.It is being launched first in California where Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has spearheaded the creation of a chain of hydrogen filling stations - as part of his environmental drive for cleaner cars. The first five customers include movie actress Jamie Lee Curtis. Honda claims the FCX offers three times better fuel efficiency than a traditional, petrol-powered car.The highly explosive lighter-than-air gas - which once kept the ill-fated Hindenburg airship in the air before its fiery end in the 1930s - is kept safely in a pressurised tank in the boot.Honda plans initially to produce about 70 of the eco-cars a year. They are initially available only to lease for around £300 a month including insurance - equivalent to a purchase price of £24,000.But Honda admits that the billions it has spent on research means that the true cost would be more like £1million per car.British motorists will have their first glimpse next month at the British International Motor Show in London's Docklands. Although there are price issues, its great to see there's development of this idea. I hope this sort of car is available for the "common man" at a "common price" soon.......
