Super BAG!

I am sparsh from India and i am a technology freak i am very new to Arduino. I recently lost my sisters bag (it was her favourite one! ) she still hasn't forgiven me and make up to her , im gonna get her a new one... Not only do i wanna get her a bag, i wanna get her a Super bag! This is a bag i found online.. the one i lost was leather too.. I was hoping all of you would be able to help me plan the bag ... Mission : a bag that has arduino and bluetooth connection and a small screen(to show bag battery and bluetooth connection status), can connect to phone, play music through awesome speaker that is connected to super large capacity battery that can be charged via wall plug or solar panel. Same battery has a standard Indian 3 pin socket to connect laptop on the go.  Maybe some way of bag lost detection on phone when bag not connected via bluetooth. Also maybe some lights connected to the arduino that respond to music playing through the bluetooth ... i also had the idea of using a breathlyzer or some other cool utility that you can think of ... I believe a lot of this will be possible with only an arduino board and a 1sheeld . Or if you have any other ideas in mind I have saved up some money. i would like to pay any of you some if you would like to help me with this project and think that you cannot do it for free ! Otherwise id love to see the community giving in their inputs and extra add ons. Thanks Looking forward to hearing from you ... sparshbatraphotography@gmail.com

i need to know how long it takes to make a bespoke bag, be it a uni, school, handbag or or laptop bag.

The bag could potentially be made of any material, i just need to know the process, and most importantly the time it takes to make it on average.

African Makes Paraglider From Plastic Bags

Awesome.Cyril Mazibuko grew up in the shadows of the mountains. Born in a small kraal at the foot of the Drakensberg range in the southern part of the KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa, Cyril would often look up at the 3,000-meter basalt peaks, a playground for African paragliders. Enthralled, Cyril made a decision: He would build his own glider and join them in the sky.Now 26, Cyril is the only black South African currently registered with the sport's ruling body. And it all started with a glider he made from plastic bags, purloined rope and baling wire, a glider that flew -- sort of -- though it both amazed and horrified the professional paragliders who saw it. Bag made out of climbing rope

Hey guys,  I've decided to start a challenging weaving project. I have about 6 60 meter retried climbing ropes. I had originally planned to make some rugs out of them, but changed my plans. Right now I am trying to learn some weaving and plan to use the rope to make some sort of backpack for climbing gear. I have a 20 meter rope that I have taken the core out of and the sheething alone works great. Any good guides out there on weaving a bag, or what types of weaves would be good for this, maybe guides from para cord

PVC Carrying Bag

I've been trying to find a bag to easily transport a project made out of PVC after it's be disassembled. The longest piece is 5ft. My first thought was one of the bags used for the colorguard flags, but those don't fit a whole lot. There has to be someone on here that's run into this problem before. Maybe someone has figured out a good way to carry PVC that isn't a bag? Any ideas?

Shopping Bags to Frisbees

Someone once told me that about the only way to join polyethylene plastic was with heat and pressure. Plastic shopping bags are a recycling problem.  I think they are polyethylene plastic.  Heat and pressure might turn them into Frisbees, or other essential things.  I visualize a vertical, heat-resistant cylinder with a removable  Teflon-coated bottom cap in the shape of a Frisbee -- black to absorb solar heat.  A piston inside with the other half of the Teflon-coated mold could have a weight on it to provide pressure.  Fill the cylinder with shopping bags, with the piston inside, and suspend it over a solar reflector to heat the end cap of the cylinder.   There you have heat and pressure -- and free energy to turn the shopping bags inside into Frisbees, or other objects. Personally, I don't have need for more Frisbees, and don't collect enough bags to keep the equipment busy.  On a community recycling scale, though, it might be a way to get rid of a lot of bags that nobody wants.  Would anybody like to run the experiment?

Chip Bag Survival

Hello Everyone: This is my first post in this forum. I have a website on preparedness and survival. I have posted also my first instructable as well basted on this topic. So my challenge to everyone is to use only chip bags and duct tape to come up with something that could save your life. Other than the fact that potatoe chips are part of a well balanced diet. The bags can be used to make all sorts of things. Have fun. Like this one below. Robert (Survival Central editor)

LAN Party Bag

I need to build a LAN Party Bag.  Or rather, a LAN Party Bag that needs to hold 3 monitors, along with a desktop.  I had a few metal-related ideas, but sadly, no welding equipment.  The computer weights 100+ lbs, so I can't use anything too cheap.  The monitors are 19" widescreens.  Plastic is too brittle, wood would have to be way too thick, and I don't have welding resources, materials, or equipment.  I don't expect to be wearing it, but rather rolling, then lifting into the car, and out when I arrive.  One idea is to maybe buy a hand truck, and mount sheet metal to the back (side facing wheeler), line with insulation, and put clips along the sides and bottom (the backpack-style clip-and-socket).  Any ideas are welcome.

Tauntaun Sleeping Bag

Once again, ThinkGeek has hatched an April Fool's joke that sparked so much interest, they're now looking into production rights. This awesome Tauntaun sleeping bag was just one of several spoof products that TG game up with to prank its audience. In response to their onslaught of letters, they're promising their best to bring it life. From ThinkGeek:Use the glowing lightsaber zipper pull on the Tauntaun sleeping bag to illustrate how Han Solo saved Luke Skywalker from certain death in the freezing climate of Hoth by slitting open the belly of a dead Tauntaun and placing Luke inside the stinking (but warm) carcass. If your kids don't change their tune on which Star Wars film is the greatest ever, you can do your best Jar Jar impression until they repent. via: consumerist

Standing (punching) Bag

Hi Everybody I have been boxing for sometime now and have been using a hanging heavy bag. But now I want a little more of kickboxing, so I need a standing bag. But I cant find one here. My "Instructables mind" kicked in and I decided to make my own. I also though of adding a pull bar to it. As in the photo, The black line is the bag stand, and the red one shows the pull up bar. I decided the wall and stand to be 5 feet apart. I may get something up but I thought of getting some professional advice before plunging in. Initially, I planed on digging a hole(about a foot deep) and then using mortar to make a properly round hole so the pole could just slide in whenever I want to use(coz it cant be permanent). And for the pull up bar I could drill a hole in the stand and push the pipe through it and attach a threaded pipe flange to the wall. Should I use pipe or wood. I prefer wood cause its easy to find. People around here have shifted to PVC, so I cant get the pipe from the general sanitary store next door. But I would somehow find it. I need functionality right now. Also if I use the pipe, would filling it up with concrete or mortar strengthen it??? So that's my idea. Any advice is welcome. I need something quick cause I plan to get it done the day after tomorrow.

Demo (Contractor) Bags Are Sometimes Better than Garbage or Other Bags

Folks use garbage bags for storing and hauling .  Problem is, garbage bags rip easily and usually are good for one use. Demo bags are woven from polypropelene and are strong and  can be re-used.. Haul one load, dump it, bring the bag back,  Refill and repeat. Or use it for moving. No worries about ripping. They are not waterproof or completely dustproof. So one may wish to line it with a plastic bag. http://ecobrooklyn.com/demo-bags-trash-bag-alternative/ I think I may try to use this as a potato bag for growing potatoes a described in an earlier instructable

Best way to Seal bags together (air seal) ?

Http://www.lawrimoreproject.com/images/visart-news-magnum-500.jpgWell, I thought it be kinda fun to take a similar idea, but my question is, What's the best way to seal bags? The guy used many black plastic bags, never stated how it's connected. I've attempted box tape, but when i tape 2 bags together fresh from the box, and try inflating, the left/right sides leak just about every time, and cant always hold pressure. (Yes id like it to be able to hold some pressure!!) So, is tape really the best way to do that?

Can you suggest some other materials for Candy Wrapper Bags? Answered

Rolls of candy wrap plastic/cellophane don't seem to be available in Australia.( I don't know what to call them")   I have made several so called candy wrapper bags using paper and tape so I want to find a "paper" that is already laminated or weather/waterproofed as my arthritic hands are not suited to all the cutting and sticking of paper and sticky tape. My current bag takes over 300 pieces so reducing some of the steps will make it more manageable. Any ideas will be greatly welcomed. Thank you.

What type of PAINT can be used to paint over logos on denier polyester conference or tote bags?

You know those denier polyester shoulder or tote bags that you get from conferences or promo giveaways? I'd like to paint over the logos or text that were screen printed on them, making them more attractive and fun for everyday use (rather than being a walking billboard). What kind of paint adheres to the denier polyester and is opaque enough to cover existing logos/text and also does not rub/wash off?

So much for Airport Security, eh?

Lateral Thinker forwarded this one to me and I thought it would be of general interest. Two people suspected of stealing up to 1000 pieces of luggage from baggage claim carousels at a US airport have been arrested by police who found piles of the stolen bags strewn throughout their home. There were so many suitcases that Phoenix police could only give a rough estimate of their number... Go here for the 'rest of the story'...

Cat Food Bag Recycle?

Any new ideas for this cat food bag? It's too big for a wallet, and making a purse or messenger bag out of it just seems... redundant. I mean, it's already a bag, right? But my brain isn't coming up with anything else more creative. Its really too cool to throw away though. It's wonderfully shiny and colorful on the outside, and it appears to actually be woven together of some sort of tyvek material. It looks like it would survive a lot of abuse. I've got basic sewing skills, and whatever materials that I don't have around the house I can pick up from Lowes, Walmart or Joanns. :-)
