Hi Guys ^.^ Just wondering what is your best trick? hardest trick? and how you do it? Everyone has different techniques so your way could help others do the trick... :) My best / favourite / hardest trick is a triple K-flip into dark slide shuv-it into 5-0 grind with an impossible out. The K-flip I do like a normal kick flip but pop higher / kick harder, also one has to catch it before it makes the 4th revolution. The shuv-it is tricky as it goes 270degrees and 1/2 a flip, fingers go in the center and just behind and under 1 back wheel. Catch it and land manual on the rail then set up for a back foot impossible. Fingers like a K-flip but the back finger more to the toe side so as to hook/pull the board round. Pop hard and swing the back finger upwards while at the same time moving the front finger out the way, as the board comes back round catch with the front finger and land it. Hope it helps anyone stuck with those tricks. Now I want to hear from you! =D Mountain Island xx

I want to use a ratchet system(like the one on the sipriani rifle) for a new idea that i thought of, but before i start i want to make sure I'm using a good ratchet system. I haven't looked at many ratchet systems so specific names of good ones (or ones that are generally accepted as good) would be helpful.

I don't know what to do with them anyway. I don't want the contest to involve guns Thanks for your time.

Okay to start this off I'll begin on telling you how close i was to quitting "k'nex", so anyways when I almost quit "k'nex" i got into war games, like Call Of Duty and Battlefield Bad Company, mostly B.B.C though, so as i collected more guns thought B.B.C I thought to myself, I should keep my k'nex and build some replicas, but then again i thought psssht I'm not any good at building guns, so what I want you people of Instructables to do is to find me the best of the best replicas for me to build, and thank you in advance.

Hi there I'm in the process of developing a K'nex new ball machine lift, but the current motor I am using (the TT one 2 speed- the one below) does not have enough torque to drive the axle. I was wondering which motor is best suitable and has a larger amount of torque. I was thinking the 12V one with the adapter, but since I don't own one yet, I cannot test one. So my question is which motor has the most torque?

Alright, so Oblivitus and I are trying to kickstart the community back up. We have three planned ways to do it so far. First, we're making a wiki of guides to all the different parts of K'nex weapon building to try and aid newbs. Secondly, we're gonna go on a mass advertising campaign across other websites and wherever possible to encourage new people to try K'nexing. Finally, we'll be holding a series of challenges in a grand contest to encourage innovation. The format for these will be simple: we'll present you a concept, you all go out and try to make the best build of that concept possible. The idea here is that not only will we try to innovate, but we'll try to perfect one concept at a time instead of just dabbing here and there, sweeping promising, yet underdeveloped concepts under the rug. We'll mix up the challenges as need be, such as allowing teams for more complicated builds, perhaps extending time limits, etc. Else, we're hoping to keep pumping out the challenges at a steady rate and see who can win the most. Perhaps we'll eventually have one final grand challenge with a bigger prize. So I'm simply curious who we all got here so far that'll participate. Just post with what you think the time limit should be for each challenge. Again, the idea is to allow enough time to perfect concepts but be steadily producing these concepts. So, do you think one week, for example, would be adequate? We'll adjust time limits as need be, but I figured we'd set a default so that you know what to expect. Also, if you would like to suggest any concepts, I'll add them to a nominations list. You can nominate as many as you want. For each challenge, you'll be allowed one vote for those on the nomination list and then we'll tackle the concept with the most votes for the next challenge. Nominations: -Nada, suggest something, anything, though I'd request some thought and nothing impossible sounding. By the way, if any veterans would like to help edit the Wiki, join at wikispaces.com and send me your username there. I'll add you to the members list so you can edit articles. I require only those who can create quality, objective pages. Grammar should be near perfect and there should be absolutely no opinions.

I'm making eight, seamless 15 cm3 cubes that will be translucent and have a glossy finish. They will be lit up (with LEDs, etc.) so the entire cube appears to glow, but there is a base side which will always be on the bottom (it doesn't have to be made of this material.) Sturdiness is desired (they will be in transit at some point), as well as low cost. The solutions I have in mind at this point are: Frosted acrylic/perspex glued together Some form of cloudy resin cast into a single-piece shell I imagine that the resin would have a better overall appearance if it goes well, but it sounds expensive and complicated. The perspex solution may have a less appealing end result due to the edges between each face. Please suggest alternate solutions if you can think of some! Thanks for your help. TK.

Alright, so I just made JonnyBGood's Zip Mk1 today, and decided to do a review on it. I recommend that before you make this gun, please read my review as some of your questions may be answered. So without further adieu, let's start. @Range- Not Bad, but cannot be termed as good. It is VERY inconsistent as well. The range that I got with one rubberband on this gun was 5-20 feet. It is quite good for its size though. 6/10 @Looks- The looks of this gun is awesome. It looks really 'sci-fi'ish. 9/10 @Durability- Really strong and well built, does not break easily. Point to be noted that the handle-stock(ish) connection is flimsy, needs some work, but I can live with it. 9/10 @Pieces- The piece count of this gun is a bit too high for its size. And not to mention the 3 broken rods. 8/10 @Comfort- This gun is very comfortable to hold and will not hurt your hand. 10/10 @Rate of Fire- Well, a 3-4 shot gun can not have a true ROF but if the hopper was extended, it would have a helluva ROF. No marks as stated above. @Functioning- Almost perfect functioning, but I guess the blocking mechanism fails sometimes, but rarely. 9/10 The Verdict- 51/60 (pretty solid) It is a well built gun that could use some polishing but in the end, it could be one of the BEST secondary gun there is or even a nice primary. The gun overall is cool and I would suggest you to build it! Also check out JonnyBGood's page and his other stuff! Note- These are my views of the gun and if you think that I am wrong at some point, comment or PM me! Hope you enjoyed the review!

INSTRUCTABLE DONE!!! LinkThis is the new grenade i talked about in my new magazine forum topic: HereIt uses a spring motor that is activate by pushing up the pin on the bottom (after being cranked) to fling shrapnel to distances not achievable by your average run-of-the-mill grenades...or should I say blunt throwing objects...*cough cough*. On average, this grenade can fling various shrapnel (green rods, ball joints and connectors, etc...) up to 25 feet. The best feature of the grenade, besides its blast radius, is how YOU DON'T NEED TO REASSEMBLE IT; you just reload the shrapnel, and toss again.I also have a slightly different version of this that can be fired from a Knex RPG!!!!! (coming later this year, because the M4 is using most of my pieces). If you want i will post an instructable for it but you can probably build from pictures.

Hey there, well basically i have a Gilera H@K 50cc road bike and i have discovered that the speedometer does not work. I unscrewed the cable and with my fingers, twisted the cable as the bike would generally do while its moving. As i did this the speedo moved and was showing that the cable was not damaged. I then took the front wheel off the bike and removed the speedo drive. I removed the full cable so i could do some tests and i found that when i put the cable in the actual squared out hole that it just spun freely. the square shape has been worn down on the actual worm gear not the cable its self. so i was just wondering what would be the best way to get that square shape back, i was thinking about either taking off about 0.5cm of the hole then adding a home made piece that had a square hole cut out of the center. Would this be a good idea? or is there something else i could do like fill the hole and push the square rod through? I cannot find one of these on the internet well the only one i can find is over £40. I don't really want to buy this as i could easily just buy a digital speedometer and fit that to the bike. Thankyou in advance :D

I made a K'nex rifle with auto-ejecting shells and a magazine- Here's the best part: It uses no modified or broken pieces, and doesn't need all that many pieces that are intact. It doesn't have the best range, 30-40 feet with 1 rubber band, but i think the shell eject with no broken parts makes up for that. What do you think? This would be my first Instructable, and i want to get off to a good start by posting something besides an 11-piece "pistol" with a block trigger. And, yes, mine DOES have a true trigger.

Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujG-N3goqKgHello, So recently, I’ve finally finished counting all the pieces in Convolution. I thought it might be a cool idea to make a contest about it. There will be separate categories with points awarded in each category. The one who has the most points wins! You are allowed to give ONE guess for each of the categories. Here are the categories and the scoring system for each one: 1) Grand Total: Guess the grand total of the piece count. The closer you are, the more points are awarded. If you are within 50 pieces, you get 10 points, within 100 you will get 8 points, within 250 and 6 points are awarded, within 500 and 4 points are awarded, within 1000 and 2 points are awarded, and within 2000 1 point will be awarded. 2) Most Common Piece: Here it is simple; just give your guess of the most used piece/part in the machine, and the amount of times it occurs. You will get 2 points for guessing the correct piece/part, and another 2 points if you are within 50 of the amount of pieces used. 3) Least Common Piece: Just as simple as the second one, guess the least used piece/part in the machine and the amount of times it occurs. 2 points will be awarded for the correct part/piece and another 2 points if you correctly guess the amount of times it is used. 4) Price Total: In this category, simply give an estimate of what you think the price of the machine would be if you were buying it piece by piece from the K’nex website. Prices are based firstly on the K’nex website, and if the piece is not found there, the price will be based on the price of the K’nex User Group. Prices are calculated in USD. If you are within $25, you will get 6 points, within $50 and you will be awarded 4 points and within $100 and you will be awarded 2 points. For reference, my room measures 2.28m(7’6’’) high, by 3.65m(12’) by 2.74m(9’). Also, here are some pictures and the video for reference as well. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujG-N3goqKg Best of luck to everyone. The contest deadline will be February 10.

Note: When I address 'ibles, I'm talking about the K'nex community here.Hey, knexers of 'ibles. Ignore my title, but it was irresistible , was it not?I'm here before you all today to give you all something to ponder, or act on. Yes, this is about the K'nex 'ibles and KI dilemma. I'm going to tell you now, I'm not going to flame 'ibles, or put offense upon it. Instructables is a DIY website, not specific to K'nex. It wasn't made to hold this community. In my opinion, people here care too much about things they shouldn't , such as ratings. People can rate them anything they want. "5 star because it looks cool!" "1 star, I don't like you." I haven't seen a lot of constructive criticism, which is, I think, what everyone should want. Most of the comments I see aren't very pleasant to read; do you really need to say "u" for "you"? Or "thx" for "thanks"? There aren't many rules here to enforce this. Or if there are, it's too laid back.First off, as you can tell by the name, K'nex Innovation was started for the productivity of K'nex. The decently small community there uses good grammar, to a point. It is moderated better post wise, as it is focused on one topic and things can be easier checked, for its size, once again. Another reason for this is that it's focused on one thing, and one thing only, so that there's less people than Instuctables obviously has. I'm not saying the people on KI have perfect grammar, I don't have it, but I'm saying that they try to the best of their abilities. No rating system. We give constructive criticism, and look down on "OMG COOL GUN!!!!1!!!!11!!" type posts. If you want to say that kind of stuff, PM the dude/man/guy. There's a mixed variety of people; gunners, and then some that make other nifty contraptions. There's a chat room, for K'nex talk. Of course, we have fun there too, throwing off jokes and playing around. Usually a good 8 or so people are in there. A handful of the more matured users who once roamed this site have settle there, such as Mepain and Oodalumps, to name a few. Recently, people there have started a podcast, currently with only two episodes. Also a step up in the community (coming from K'nex Innovation), soon there will be the first internet organized K'nex war.Even if you completely disagree what all that I said, please go check the site out: http://knexinnovation.net/And for those of you who want to talk it up with us first, here's the KI Chatroom: http://embed.mibbit.com/?settings=d4a2e2317b84e8897df0b736464a8ee4&server;=mibbit.darkmyst.org&channel;=%23KIchat&

A long time ago, I looked at Mepain's 8-Shot Deconstruction Round Revolver, and I really liked the idea, but as all concepts, it didn't shoot far. Within 20 minutes the other day I had made a small, real-triggered pistol (cock+revolve+shoot) with 8 shots, where the firing pin hits a white rod off of a snowflake connector. This was meant to be a simple revolver for people with few pieces, or who just want a fun gun. At a 45 degree angle, I won't lie, it probably gets around 10-20 feet, depending on the wear and tear of your pieces. It won't win any wars, it is a simple sidearm so you can build more piece consuming firearms. I will have pictures up shortly. Edit: I've improved range by some number, and it is now more complex and piece consuming but more reliable, and the clip design has been perfected. Advantages over guns with magazines: - Never Jams. Ever. - Slanted handle with no magazine inside. No broken pieces or clumsy mag pushers in your way. - Bullets are spread out in a circle. It is very compact, especially if you use green rods instead of whites. - Detachable wheels. This means quick reload if you have extra wheels pre-built. - Easy trigger pull. You don't need a super-powerful rubber band to make it shoot far, so the trigger pull is smooth and easy. - Super easy to build. You don't need to be an expert in k'nex to know how this works. Because it takes up less space and pieces than a magazine, and the clip design requires no rubber bands (unless you really want auto-revolver) this design could easily be perfected and expanded upon to a rifle, or high-powered weapon. It uses one black Y-connector, for the trigger, and I'm sure there's another way to do it, but this is probably the best. I can't find my camera; when I do, I will have pictures up. Probably not instructions because the thing is easy to build from pictures and a pain to take apart, but I'll be answering questions frequently when it's up and posting helpful pictures to anybody who requests it. EDIT: Pictures here> https://www.instructables.com/community/TO67PH4GQ225YK9/. Click the "i" at the top-left to get rid of those pesky annotations.

This little mechanism is from this old set called "Roaring Basilisk" or something. It looks like it could be used easily in a true trigger system, but I'm not the best at making them. So, I have asked this question. Who can make a functioning pistol/rifle with this?
Question by AppleFizz | last reply
I just have a ton of blues rod and yellow connectors, and I wanna find a gun suitable for them. Id like it to fire rods, have a mag, be semi or auto, have a good range, have an optional scope, and be somewhat sturdy I have a ton of white rods, about 100 green rods, so I am okay in that aspect. I just havent found many semis that dont use whites connectors, or guns that use many blues at all.

I've decided that I'm going to make a really long video (an Opus) showcasing all the stuff I've done. From writing, to creations, to anything else I do, I'm going to narrate it, show it in action, or do whatever it takes to bring out the best in the things I make during my free time. To check out my progress, there's a blog here with video snippets, writing, and other things I make. That link back there is essentially the entirety of the content of this instructable, and it will continue to be, until 'Opus' is completed. Enjoy everything!

I know this has been asked before, but the link to the instructions for the K'nex Stepper Lift in Shadowman39's guide doesn't work on my computer. I really need a more complete picture of how it works. I remember that I built it once from an obscure instructable, but I can't remember which one it was (besides, that instructable was incomplete, anyway). If someone knows where to find the instructions aside from knexinnovation.net, PLEASE let me know (or mail the file to my instructables inbox...or something!) P.S.: If the instructions are not available, I'll just have to do my best at recreating it from the few pictures I have seen...and then maybe make a proper instructable to document it!

Ok, for those of you who had seen my shotgun design, you could probably tell it was over before it had even started. I had tried 5 different layouts and I couldn't get past the frontmost barrel without running into problems. I think it was a cool design, but it was just too much for K'nex. Most of my best get designs just pop into my head at the most random times. Is it just me, or does this happen to other people too? Anyways I was trying to make it until the bell in pre-cal (my teacher is a crazy cat woman who enjoys talking about her imaginary husband) and I just started drawing this design. Not only did it kill 10 minutes but it may just be the best thing I've come up with in terms of K'nex. The magazine looking thing in front of the handle is actually the driving mechanism in this gun. Shots are housed in the stock pressing up against the pusher. When the pump is pulled, the pusher moves down, allowing two bullets (one shot) into the chamber. When the pump is released, the pusher pushes the bullets up against an upper section, where they wait for the trigger so be pulled, releasing the ratchet and the rubber band, launching the two bullets with a decent (I hope) spread. Even though it doesn't shoot yet it is fun to just load the ammo (thats just how cool this gun it). It is probably going to be a little different than what is shown in the video by the time I post it, but right now I'm just going with what I have. I hope you like it and please let me know of any improvements you can come up with. -Kinetic

Hey, I'm Stale56 (as most of you may know), and I'm building a K'nex gun right now. I have several questions about some features on K'nex guns. 1. What type of barrel will get further range, a TDS style barrel (where it is layered), or the type on Foresthell12's K'nex pistol V2 (snowflake with grey/red rods connected)? 2. Is a firing pin that comes out of the barrel better than one that doesn't stick out of the end of it? WHAT I MEAN: Let's say a gun with a tube barrel has a body that is the length of a red rod, and a firing pin that is a black rod. When the pin is not cocked back, and not ready to fire, the firing pin is sticking out the front end of the barrel. Think of all those "Smallest True Trigger" guns. They have a small firing pin that is a white rod, blue rod, etc. Now imagine if you made the firing pin a yellow rod. You can imagine that the firing pin will stick out of the front end of the barrel. And that is what I mean in my question. 3. Does firing pin size matter that much? EXAMPLE: If you have a yellow rod firing pin that isn't pulled back that far, and a black rod that is pulled back the same distance as the red rod, which will have better range? I'm assuming the black, but I might be wrong. 4. What is the best type of bullet lock? 5. I know that black rods are stronger than grey, but if you have a grey rod for the firing pin, and replace it with a black one, will it go further? If so, will it be alot further, or only 2 inches further Thats it for now, I may add some more questions later. Thank you for you time.

It's KneXFAN200 here with the third k'nex ball machine contest. There will be no prize unless you count being put on a collection of best ball machines with instructions, favorite on every instructable, vote on every instructables, and a subscription!. There will be a Grand winner, a First place winner, second pace winner, and a runner up. So lets get to the rules. First of all, it needs to be a ball machine that is new. I'll make an exception though, you could do a ball machine that was made from Jan. 2017, and up. What you will do is make the ball machine first of all and post it on instructables. Then, you put the ball machine link in the comments or just by emailing me on instructables. After that, I will put a picture of it on here and once there's 20 entries or by the beginning January, the winners will be announced and will be put in the collection (in order) that I talked about at the beginning. One more thing, I am not entering this contest. Enteries: https://www.instructables.com/id/Weird-Knex-Ball-Machine-1-Tiny-Box/ From random_builder Thanks and good luck, KneXFAN200

Hey all, Recently (and not so recently...) I have been noticing that our knex community here has been... not so nice recently. There seems to be a growing number of quarrels, mean comments and just generally it seems like the whole knex community is on edge. This makes me sad. Instructables is supposed to be a place were we share ideas with one another, give each other advice and just have fun hacking around with each other, which it is, for the most part. But the knex community seems to be becoming very competitive, mean to the point of rudeness, and there seems to be one heck of a lot of put downs. Its no wonder that many of the users are migrating to other websites. I would love to see this change! Lets try to get back to a constructive and cheerful group, and just generally be not quite so negative. Lets get out of this mess we've made. Also, (this does not apply to non knex readers) I would love to do away with this irritating "hierarchy", as one might put it. Many peoples opinions get pushed aside and discredited, simply because they may not be as good with knex as someone else, while the regulars are praised and approved, no matter what they do. This sucks, so lets do our best to treat everyone as equals, and not pan people because we might be better at knex then them. We all do this to an extent, me included. I would also love to get rid of that darned word "Knexpert". How many quarrels and pointless arguments have come around because of that silly little term... So be happy everyone, lets put some encoragment and cheer into everything that we do here. Show a smile! IaC

Ahhh... I feel sometimes the k'nex gun builders community lacks a bit artistic visions, so I scraped the worldwide web for some images that would pump some artistic juices into the community. With no offence to our replica builders out there, (you guys are awesome at what you do!) but I feel that building a k'nex gun is an art. Trying to create that right balance of flow of a gun while incorporating a twist that catches the persons eye is a challenge, a skill, and I feel may be a bit more challenging than making a replica. With replicas you have the comfort of a defined shape and measurements, when guns like these (some virtual, I know one is real, the harmonica gun) are built to be within a similar scale but again with that unusual and pleasing twist of the imagination. Again I don't mean to offend anyone with the idea that replicas are not cool, replicas are awesome and I find it really hard to stay within a replicas measurements (more power to the people who can). I would just like to see some more unique visions of the builder. Build a gun that defines you and your vision of what a great gun looks and feels like. Then make it perform how you want it too. It's a complex process capturing the beauty of a well crafted k'nex gun through not only aesthetic appearance, but physical performance. These unique guns are what defines us as a K'nex gun community, a community of artists. At the end of the pictures, I've included a couple of my best Art. (two which didn't perform as planned but nailed appearance)

Ever done your first Instructable and then not to have had much interest from others? Never really wanted to tell every one about it because that might be considered as "Advertising"?Well, firstly, it's not advertising if it's not obtrusive and secondly, you're in the right place!Post here the first of your many Instructables to come, give it's title, a brief description, a picture or two and a link. There's no prize (from me) but you will get a lot more views than previously. Here's mine, it's a simple optical illusion that's not too hard to make (if you know how) and is an extremely easy way to make money at school, when people start asking "Can I have one?" and "Can you make me one?" Just remember, feed back's always nice, comment on every one else's; they might comment on yours.Hope to see yours!~K

It's KneXFAN200 here with a k'nex ball machine contest. There will be no prize unless you count being put on a collection of best ball machines with instructions. There will be a Grand winner, a First place winner, second pace winner, a third place winner, and a runner up. So lets get to the rules. First of all, it needs to be a ball machine that is new and has instructions. I'll make an exception though, you could do a ball machine with instructions that was made from May, 2016, and up. What you will do is make the ball machine first of all (unless it's built from May 2016 and up) and post it on instructables. Then, you put the ball machine link in the comments or just by emailing me on instructables. After that, I will put a picture of it on here and once there's enough ball machines or by the start of March, 2017, the winners will be announced and will be put in the collection (in order) that I talked about at the beginning. One more thing, I am not entering this contest. Thanks and good luck, KneXFAN200
