Pixlr Trouble Blending 2 Exposures for Real Estate

Hello, I am testing out the pixlr.com editor version... Opening 2 photos of exact same shot... one with blown out windows in a house and one with the outside view showing in the windows.  Each time I try to use the brush mode, click black and drop the opacity... nothing happens. Here are the exact steps.. 1. Open both photos at once 2. copy and paste the bright photo over the top of the dark photo 3. delete original photo 4. unlock box for darker photo and check the box 5. click add mask layer (I get a red box next to the white box on that layer) 6. Merge visible 7. Click brush select black and lower opacity... Nothing happens Sometimes opacity is already at zero.. other times I can get it at 100% and drop it all the way to zero and nothing changes. Anything I am missing or doing wrong? Here's 2 photos for an example

Steampunk and robots and gears, oh my

Dark Roasted Blend is always full of fascinating shiny wonderful things. Following links there led me back to this older post collecting links to Nemo Gould's art robots, steampunk spiders, gorgeous mechanized beetles, and minature recycled hot-rods. Even if you've seen it before, it's worth revisiting, and Dark Roasted Blend does, as advertised, provide a daily dose of the weird and wonderful. Today's batch also included links to Takeshi Yamada's Museum of World Wonders exhibit, which includes "over 500 post-super-realism and neo-taxidermy artworks simulating the treasures of the cabinet of curiosities" along the lines of an old-school Coney Island sideshow. Found amazing cheap RGB led boards, need help changing out 3 individual LEDS for a single RGB LED?

I have been looking for a cheap board to control normal 4 pin RGB LEDS, and I finally found one! However, this board has 3 individual LEDS a red, green, and blue LED and I need to change them to have a single RGB LED. This board has 7 colors, red, green, blue, yellow, aqua, purple, and white. The problem I am having is, when I hook up the single RGB led the blended colors do not work anymore. Even though it's on aqua it still only looks blue, or if it's on yellow it only appears red. I only get the 3 main colors Red, green and blue when I hook up the single RGB led vs the separate 3 LEDS that comes standard on this board. Hoping someone can help me figure out why the blended colors aren't working when I switch to the single RGB led. I uploaded a photo of the board, and the single RGB led on the bottom left I am trying to replace the 3 LEDS

Melting Issue in LDPE Extrusion with Black Masterbatch

We're facing this situation with black masterbatch for LDPE in extrusion lamination process where some of the masterbatch granules are not properly melted and mixed with LDPE, which creates a lot of defects in the lamination. I've tried a number of Black masterbatch samples from different companies and in different prices and the problem still exists. Increasing the extruder temperatures doesn't seem to be helping either. This happens only with Black masterbatch and all other masterbatch colors melt and blend in with LDPE to give an uniform color strength. Appreciate your professional advice on preventing this issue..Thank you!

Recycle

Recycle, how do YOU help the environment by recycling, do you just toss plastic and paper products into correct bins whit the recycling sine in it or do you reuse old stuff, remake to keep up whit the time, take action yourself. What do you do? For example, I recycle old news paper... Its a whole proses, first you cut the news papers into smaller peaces, then you let it set in a special, secret concoction, then you blend them, then a secret method of removing the ink from the paper, and finally evenly distribute the sludge into a mold and let it set, dry. One day I might make an Instructables on how to recycle old newspapers. So what are your actions on helping the Earth recover?

Why is blk water basic instead of acidic?

Recently I came across a brand of water called blk, named for the black appearance of the water caused by the addition of fulvic acid. The manufacterer's website states that it is "exceptionally pure artesian spring water" with the addition of the company's blend of fulvic and humic acid. Now, we all know that the PH of pure water is 7, but if we add acid, wouldn't that make it more acidic? Apparently not, seeing as the manufacturer's website also states that the PH of blk water is 9, making blk water more basic than regular water. I would think the fulvic/humic acid's addition would make the PH acidic, not basic. Can anyone explain this?

Can a diesel run on 2stroke fuel/be supplemented with 2 stroke fuel mix? Answered

Hi all can a diesel run on 2stroke fuel mix if the 2stroke oil was added to the petrol in heavy enough quantities so that 1. It off set the octane rating of the petrol so that it acted like diesel? 2. It was blended with diesel to supplement the mix?  The reason I ask is that there is a lot of mistakes made at the fuel pump with people putting fuel in diesel and I was wondering if the petrol was know, that a measured amount of 2stroke oil was added that this would solve the problem, rather than the expensive issue of towing, draining and repairs? I have had this experience and drained most of the petrol and then added motor oil to the new diesel to help lubricate and no dramas. Positive comments please.

Troubleshooting unwanted distortion in a DIY guitar effect pedal? Answered

I built myself one of Moosapotamus' Bass Paraloopers following his design (the updated one, that is) to the letter.  The only modification I did was to remove the low pass filter, since I'm using it for guitar, not bass.  Unfortunately, it has several problems. The one I am most concerned about is some unwanted distortion.  It is fairly mild, but noticeable enough to be a problem when playing clean.  It affects both the dry and wet signal (i.e. it is present when the blend knob is set to both 100% wet and 100% dry).  I do not think the signal from the effects pedal in the loop is overdriving the circuit.  How can I narrow down where/what component this distortion is coming from?  Unfortunately, I do not have an oscilloscope to use for troubleshooting.  Any help is appreciated.

Couple of ghille suit questions

I trying to make a ghille suit from this instructable and I have a couple of questions. I wanted to make a full body ghille suit, so I was wondering how many more times of burlap do I need to complete this. (Like do I need 2x more, 5x more?), pic attached. I'm going to cut the strings in half before I add them to the suit, if that clarifies anything And I was wondering if the color palette that I chose was good enough. I want a more green ghille suit. I have the three colors shown in the picture that I picked out. Do I need more colors, should I mix some colors, should I leave some colors un-dyed and leave it the original burlap color, or is it good as is? Colors also in attached pics. Also; I'm making this more as a costume, not so much to blend into my environment.

Any tips on disassembling bullet camera and relocating the lens module?

Hello!  I've been reading instructables for a while and now it's time to join and post a question. I've been finding nails in my driveway and want to catch who's doing this.  I've got a 4 channel security camera on it's way and have been thinking and researching ways to hide them.  Due to the 'clean' surfaces around my home, it's going to be tough to make the 2" diameter x 6" long bullet cameras blend in (so people don't vandalize/steal them).  I've spent hours searching how to camouflage cameras, so I know the 'typical' tricks. I'm thinking about making a fake gutter extension and hiding the camera in there (so it blends into my one story house), possible installing a gable vent on my garage and pointing a camera through that, or trying to mount a camera about 20' up a nearby tree.  My favorite idea is to take apart a bullet camera and move the camera lens module, which is much smaller than the whole camera housing, to a more discreet location. I've searched for a while but can't find anyone who has done this with an IP66 outdoor style camera.  I know I'm going to lose the IR LED's around the lens, and that's ok (I'll have 3 other cameras for night vision).  I think I can point the camera through a small knot hole in my privacy fence and be able to detect who has last walked by when the nails appear.  I might make a small weather proof enclosure to protect the lens module...I think I'm a good tinker-er so this isn't the problem. Has anyone hacked apart a security camera and moved the lens module (by extending the wires) to a remote location?  I know there are small cameras for sale, I know I can hide a camera in a bird house, etc...but I like to make things.  I'm just looking for advice/tips from someone who has done this.  When I search for 'hack apart a security camera' I get a bunch of 'hacking into a security system', or 'spy on your neighbors'...I don't want to do either of those.  I have great neighbors, I live in a corner house where a lot of people/kids walk...I just want to catch them.  Once I know who's doing it, I'll move the cameras to more visible locations (to deter others from doing anything else). Thanks for any help!

I want to make an RGB LED microlight that has multiple modes for which it flashes with PWM. rainbow fade, slow/fastblink

Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqq0doh7Dto I want to make my own version of this. I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Can someone point me in the right direction? Its has to be a small portable flashlight and run off of small batteries. It has to have multiple modes: one of which is a rainbow fade, another of which is a super fast blinking mode). I understand Pulse Width Modulation achieves this, but I've only seen LARGE circuits that achieve this in comparison with the size of a microlight. I don't think a 555 timer circuit would work for me since it would be too large and I would need 3 to controller the RGB. I understand that microcontrollers are needed to control the modes, what type of microcontroller could i use that is that small? If filmed under time lapse, I want to achieve the effect in the picture for a mode: http://lightzombies.com/store/images/Blending%20Rainbow%20-%20White%20Blue%20Green%20(1).JPG Any help is very very welcome. This is an extremely important project to me.

What thickener gives a gel-consistency, and not jelly-consistency?

Hey people! I have a liquid I would like to thicken to the consistency where it can be spread on bread. I just don't want to blend in too many calories, so I just want to use some thickener. But what thickener gives a gel-like consistency, and not a jelly-like? The difference (in my head) is that if you poke the surface of a gel, your finger sinks into it, and if you do the same with a jelly, the surface bends. So jelly is the wobbly stuff like jell-o, while gel is more like hairgel. Problem is just that I don't know which thickener to use... I have these in consideration: Cornstarch, tried, worked kind of, but not when cooled down in the fridge. Went from almost tolerably jelly, to very jelly Tapioca, should be like cornstarch, but more fridge-tolerant. Any thoughts? Flour, not very powerful, and gives a bad taste in those quantities Agar agar, less wobbly than gelatine, but still kind of jelly. Pectin, still haven't tried it, but know it is used for jam, and jam can be spread, but can also be kind of wobbly, any thoughts? Also, any other suggestions?

Finding that perfect brownie

Ok, I have tried and tried and I need some assistance from the Instructable community. My favorite brownies in the world are Ghirardelli's Triple Chocolate Brownie mix. It's a delicious chocolatey blend with 3 different chocolate chips inside (semisweet, milk and bittersweet/dark). The batch comes dry and you add 1/3 oil, 1/3 cup water (though I use coffee), and 1 egg for a 8x8 pan of brownies. My issue is I want to figure out how to make these from scratch. As much as I love them, I'm a scratch kind of girl and I just don't feel like I can call a recipe mine if I'm using a box mix. There's tons of brownie recipes online but none that seem similar. I figured out that the dry mix must obviously have their cocoa powder in it, but I can't find a recipe that has you add egg, oil and water to a dry mix. Many of the recipes I found have you melt one of the chocolates into your chocolate batter, rather than use cocoa powder, but I don't think Ghirardelli does that, unless I'm wrong. And if they did, how would it come as a dry mix? Others might have used powder but then they call for a lot of butter instead just a 1/3 cup of oil. Are there any brownie experts who can figure this one out for me?
