bubble wall?

Hi everyone! I am not a tech .. I am just a girl who loves to create odd things and gets really excited about making cool freaky lights in my house. I would like to find an inexpensive way to build a bubble light wall.. like make it big and part of the wall itself. I have some concept of what I need to do already, but am perplexed at how to build the tank itself .. like an 1nch or so deep .. but if anyone has any good ideas for this I would really love to hear them. also... would it be better to use panels or one large tank .. or if there is anything premade that i could convert into this. Thanks =)

Bubbly spray paint?

I was painting my Nerf gun using Rustoleum spray paint. All went well and I let it dry for a week (yes, it says 1 hour but I was too busy for a week). Then I decided to put a Matte Clear Coat from Rustoleum and the paint started bubbling up. The clear coat did not bubble but the other paints did! And what's weird is that it only bubbled in certain areas. What happened and what's the solution?

Some clever person figured out that if you give soap bubbles enough time to fall to ground on a very cold night, by the time they reach it they will be frozen. Of course, pictures have ensued. Check them out as they are quite beautifulThanks Boing Boing!

Wiring a Bubble Machine Answered

Hi I have a bubble making machine which recently had to have the capacitor and transformer replaced. However, I cannot get the machine to run the fan when its all connected. I think the wiring is all a bit of a mess, and I am wondering if someone can help me find a solution to get it to operate again. At the moment when the blades in the diagram are connected to the 3 pin switch only the motor which rotates the wheel for the bubble machine operates, the fan does not work. I have tried others (I have assumed these work but I don't know how to test them independently) but no success. I am unsure if the capacitor is wired correctly either, as reading about it online I have found that one pin is negative and the other is positive :(Also, I swapped the old transformer (see attached) for a replacement led transformer for running 12 volt light, I don't know if this was a suitable replacement. Please help me!!

Anyone know how to get a bubble out of cardboard matting? Answered

I had a roof leak that dripped onto a matte I was preparing for a photo project. It has created a little bubble.  I am wondering if anyone knows an easy way to fix this little trouble spot? I'd rather not have to get a whole new matte.

Compact bubble gun mechanism?

My 7yo was begging for a bubble gun, and I promised I'd 3d print him one.  To my surprise, there are very few 3d printable bubble machine designs around, and none that match what he wants.  (He wants it to have a handle and trigger like a handgun.)  So, I suppose I'll be designing one. . . (FYI - My parts bin has plenty of fans and motors and even small liquid pumps and I am competent at 3d design. ) My challenge is that the basic rotating disk method of wetting the bubble hoops is both too bulky for a handgun-style bubble shooter, and is highly spill-able. I see online there are numerous toy bubble guns that look like what I want and appear to be much less spill-able.  However, I can't figure out from the pictures how they work, beyond that there is a pump that sends bubble solution to above the hoop and a funnel to route the excess back into the container.  How does the bubble solution get swiped across the hoop reliably? (And, yes, I know it would be easier and cheaper to just buy one.  That's not the point.)

iPad "You" bubble problem

Hello, i am experiencing problems with iPad safari browsing in the site.  When I click on the "You" button on the top right corner, whatever I want to click after that is impossible. The bubble disappears and whatever was under my finger is selected and clicked. This way I cannot see messages, shortcuts or log out. These can be found if I add "/you" in the browser bar, but it is more complicated. Has anyone found a fix for that?

Solder Iron Tips: oily, bubbly coating forming... See Pics

Can anyone explain to me what is happening with my soldering iron? It makes it very hard to remove. I thought maybe flux is getting down there somehow but I've been taking care to alway keep the tip down and avoid any excess solder accumulating on the tip (aside from tinning of course). But it's happening again!

What would happen if you apply ultrasonic levitation to water ?

While tinkering with my latest creation, a 6L ultrasonic cleaner, I started to wonder...When using these actuators for cutting or welding purposes a horn is used to provide some amplification of the movement and to get the right shape for the tool.Oil seals, like used on drive shafts are no problem when attached to a node of the horn. And if you ever placed a small diameter horn into some water to test it you know the storm it creates. But what would happen if two horns are used on opposing sides of the container? At the correct distance the same static nodes like we see when levitating in air should appear. What would happen to the tiny cavition bubbles that shoot away from the horn?Am I correct to assume that, at least in theory, it should be possible to create a stable vacuum bubble between the horns?

Lit bubble columns/bubble wall

I've been looking at these awesome bubble columns that are so wretchedly expensive and dying to get one for my office. Note, I am sure they are worth every penny, but I have few pennies. For the link-phobic, a bubble column is a clear tube several feet tall with an aerator making bubbles and multi-coloured lights from beneath the column. Some columns are interactive and others have plastic fishies or balls that sail around inside.  There is also a space-saving "bubble wall" that only runs 1L of water.  Anyone even have a clue as to where to start? No pics, sorry, I didn't want to pull them off the website.

I punctured the dust cover (the centermost part of the speaker that looks like half of a ball) of a Sonance Visual Performance VP65 speaker.  The puncture is about 1/4 inch in diameter and did not touch any of the internal parts. Can this be repaired?  Will it affect the performance of the speaker?

Bubbling LED Hanging Industrial lights???

There is a project I have been vigilantly searching for on instructables and google. I remember seeing it on here a couple of years ago and now cannot find it anywhere.. The project consisted of Industrial cage jar lights, LEDs, Vegetable oil, and a fish tank pump and some other supplies.. The LED lights would be submerged in the jars with vegetable oil and   the fish tank pump supplies air into the industrial lights and the oil bubbles..  I would love to find this project. I have been itching to find it for the past year or so. If anyone knows where to find this project, Please pm me.. I would appreciate it immensely.. Or if anyone knows where to find the Industrial cage lights i would appreciate any help in this matter.. Thanks..

Can Google/Youtube's filter bubble can be reset or eliminated?

I don not know how many people know what a filter bubble is, but I'll explain: A lot of websites (particularly social networks) remember the websites you visit, the stuff you see, and the stuff you like, and based on this they suggest other stuff you maybe like. Google and many other websites try to make a personlised internet. This sounds great at first. But this is a problem. For example, after I search a lot of music on one day, then try search something about elastic bands sizes, guess what? Google sees the word "band" and because of this only suggests music bands. It gets even worse when searching for opinions about news. You only get the opinions you already agree with. But I dont really do that so for me that is no problem. Is there any way I can re-set all personlised options for a website? It is not really a problem, there are more worse things in the world. But it is just annoying. If there is a way to fix it, I want to try it. Thanks for your attention. -Tnod

How to get liquid with bubbles running through surgical tubing? Answered

Hello all, I may just not be searching the right terms, but I can't for the life of me find a way to have colored liquid with bubbles in it run through surgical tubing. (Basically, the bubbles show that the liquid is flowing.) I've seen this effect in movies using smaller diameter tubing and also in larger tubing in the frame work of old style juke boxes. For halloween, I'm thinking about a throwing a mad scientist party and using a black light lit  fluorescing liquid In the tubing. Bonus points if it's portable for the costume! And yes, I haven't really played with pumps before, so if most do this out of box, please be kind. :) many thanks!

Help!! It's 3am and I have a bubbling and squeaking battery!

Please help! I procured an electric wheelchair today (worn and torn, but in good shape.  It had 2 12v batteries, little smaller than an auto batt.  Didn't write down the amperage tho...The batteries were visually inspected for bowed or expanded sides, cracks, oxidation.  Everything appeared in order.  They have likely been sitting for some time.  Stupidly, I did not check electrolyte levels.  Oops.  Could easily be low.  I plugged the charger into the mainboard for 30 minutes, watching closely.  No issues, no overheating.  I left it for another 2 hours.  Again, no noticeable issues.  I tested the drive motors by controlling it around my driveway briefly. Power was very low.  It worked, but clearly lacked juice. I plugged the batts in for another 4 or 5 hours.  But after that time, I noticed a crackling/squealing (faint) sound.  As if pressure was escaping.  Bad news.  I had the chair chassis (and batts) in my workshop, and now I was afraid it may blow, contaminating everything.  The batteries feel warm. One more than the other. Beginning to panic, I threw on my goretex, respirator, goggles and gloves and carefully detached the battery cable from the main board.   I've never had one of this size blow, and have no idea what it could do.  very hesitantly, I rolled it into my garage, and closed the door.  Now I'm afraid to sleep, because I'm concerned about it. Is this Normal old battery behavior?  Could this be due to low electrolytes?  A small crack in the case?  Is there anything I can do besides wait?  I'm not real anxious to go too close for too long.  Is there anything I can do that would not increase hazard?  I'm about to throw a tarp over it, but is there a high flammability risk if a high amperage 12v were to blow? Guidance highly appreciated.  Thank you.

Is there a way to use a Cannon Bubble Jet printer as a scanner? Make a scanner cartridge?

There is a model of Cannon printer where you can purchase a scanner cartridge to replace the ink cartridge, transforming the printer into a scanner.  However, I do not have that model, so I'm wondering/hoping that since THAT printer can be used as a scanner with only the simple replacement of the ink cartridge, maybe there's a way to use my current, ancient Bubble Jet as a scanner, also. Thanks in advance.
