Need suggestion for clap "push Button" instead of a clap switch.?

Well I want to make a circuit that send out a "high" pulse instead of being "high" continuously and getting "low" after next clap,just like pressing a push button and not like toggling a switch a circuit that turns toggle switch signal to a single pulse

Support the Clap Off Bra

Hey everybody! I put the clap off bra on Kickstarter to try to raise some funds to have it manufactured. The way Kickstarter works is that I only get the funds pledged if my funding goal is met. This is a good way to see if the clap off bra is actually a viable product. I am excited to see what happens.

Circuit not working? Answered

Hey Guys, a few weeks back I posted a question about a clap switch with an IC 4017 not working (relay not turning on). Well I tried to make the project again. The problem is now the relay wont turn off (-_-). (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFu0pBvpmIk) video of the project by another guy ( He doesn't use relay, instead he uses an LED. The problem with mine is that when I give it power the CIRCUIT OFF LED is off and the relay is on, indication that the circuit is in on position, so far so good. But when i clap the CIRCUIT OFF LED turns on indicating that the circuit is off but the relay stays on. The first time I tried, i didnt put the diode near the relay, same result. THen I put a diode (the wrong way), nearly burnt my hand. This time i put the diode in the same way that im supposed to but the circuit still has the same result. I have uploaded the schematics, Hope someone can help me. UPDATE: I was using MJE13003B instead of BC547. When I was using the mje13003b it was very easy to turn the circuit on and it used to come on at first try. When i inserted the BC547 the circuit was in off position I clapped and it worked like a charm the indicator led turned off and the relay turned on. But when I tried to turn it back off, everytime i clapped the status led blinked and thats it, It just blinked, the circuit would be still in on position. I wonder whats the prob since turning it on is easy and turning it off is impossible. NOTE: Now its the same with the on position. Whether its in on or off position same thing happens. In one of the million clap it turns on. Thanks in advance. -Prickly Potato

Circuit not working...

So I made this circuit (http://niotronic.blogspot.mx/2013/07/clap-switch-with-ic741-and-cd4017.html) but it doesn't seem to be working. When I connect it to power the relay is in on position and the led is off. No matter how many times i clap it doesn't seem to change state. Can anyone please tell me what i could've done wrong? Note: when i touch the bottom of the circuit ( on some pins between 1 and 4 of ic 741) it seems to change state. Help would be greatly appreciated thanks. I am looking for a sensor that activates after the clicking noise of an automobile turn signal

Hello Forum, I am looking for a sensor that activates after the clicking noise of an automobile turn signal solenoid stops. Similar to the "clap on clap off" device, but activates only after I choose to stop clapping.  Or like a heart monitoring circuit that activates an alarm when a heartbeat stops. I would like this circuit to activate for only three seconds then reset. I would like that sensor to be able to clip onto an adhesive pad just like the one doctors use for heart monitoring. I'm requesting that someone please make an easy instructable that tells you how to make a clapper. that way, when i wake up in the morning i dont have to go all the way across the room to turn on the light. and ill also hook up a radio to it so that the music freaking makes me wake up :-)

I wanna make steampunk lamp.

I wanna make steampunk lamp. I was thinking some kind a magical or science fictional lamp. Light that truns on when there's is a sound in a room, human voice or something like that.  Turns off when no one is making sound. I don't know what to use as sound cather.  I have old wooden candle leg. I think piezo is not right for cathing sounds like human voice in air. I don't wanna make lamp that turns off and on when I say on the mic something. I wanna make lamp that starts glowing when it catches sound. Turns off when it don't catch any sound like human vocie. I don't know what to use as sound cather. I think piezo element is not right. Maybe mic element or someting like that is better.

Circuit Problem? Answered

Hey guys i just made this circuit ( pic provided ), The problem is when i  clap the led that indicates the circuit is off turns off (power goes to the relay coil) but  the circuit off indicator led turns back on after a few sec and the relay does turn on at all. (Yes the relay works) And another thing I observed is that when i take the coil wires off and attach them to an led instead of relay it works correctly and the led stays on till i clap again to turn the circuit off.

Switch a relay with a 555 timer?

I have a clap activated relay which I want to use to switch on my computer but when you leave the switch on my PC in the "on" position it just keeps rebooting. Would it be possible to use the relay to activate a 555 timer circuit or similar to the switch off the relay after 2 or 3 seconds?

can a gas snowblower be converted to an electric motor?

I have an ancient snowblower with a clapped out Tecumseh engine that burns oil faster than gasoline.  Has anyone done a conversion to an electric motor, and is it feasible ie cost of electricity?  Would I need a 220 VAC outlet or could a 110 motor handle the load?  I live in Alberta, and we get a metric butt load of snow.  Thoughts?

Circuit not working?

Hey Guys, This is like the 5th question regarding the same circuit. Maybe its because the circuit is a bit hard to make or .. idk. Anyway I tried it on breadboard and in the 5th attempt it worked but now that i soldered it on the normal perfboard its not working. It doesn't detect the clap at all.(the microphone is properly connected).I dont know what I did wrong. I bought a multimetre recently so if you could tell where im supposed to see what voltage that should make it easier to troubleshoot the circuit. BTW Pin 12 and 13 are not connected because i remember when they were connected on beadboard it wasnt working.

Choosing a relay?

I was about to make a project, I was all set then I realized that I hadn't chosen a relay yet. (Circuit http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IdzxyPF4WYE/UfBCWb0deoI/AAAAAAAADZs/1-eYB2ufQCA/s1600/Clap+Switch.jpg) As I didn't know anything about relays or AC voltage I started studying. At the end I came to this. As I will be controlling lamps with either incandescent bulbs or led bulbs and phone chargers a 5v, 220v 1a relay will be enough, since Bulb 0.27 A, LED 100 MiliAmps and Phone Charger a few watts. So the question is that are my calculations right and what else should I know about relays e.g operating voltage resistance and other stuff. Oh and is there a 0.5a relay and if there is will that be enough? Thanks in advance. -Prickly Potato

How do I choose an optocoupler/transistor? Answered

There are 2 circuits,one is a clap switch which provides output to ground voltage as 12 volts,and with a resistor,I managed to get an led to turn on each time I clap.I wanted to interface it with a clock which shows time when a button is pressed,but the problem is the button(marked as "show") isn't connected from microcontrollers  pin to vcc but from micro's pin to gnd (find attachment for reference).so I wanted to chose an optocoupler or transistor,but being a school student,I haven't  learnt about them,though I know how to connect them. also,please suggest some method (transistors or optocoupler & which one) to increase the number of output leds without overloading the micro Please help

Homica is a project that thanks to a smart web platform allows to control in a remote way (using an iPhone and Apple Watch) sensors and actuators installed on the Arduino boards. Need advice in creating a sound activated robot

Hi to everyone! I am new here and will really appreciate any help or advice on my project. Truth is, i am very new to electronics and thus, have little knowledge on how to proceed with my project. In summary, my project is basically creating a friend(robot) that will activate upon receiving electrical impulse from a mic. The motion it will have is basically the lighting up of LEDs (for the eyes) and the head tilting upwards (using servo or DC motor idk...) when sound is detected. However, i want the motions to be there for 30 secs even after there is no more sound before reverting back. I have done many research regarding this but it is just too complicated for me to understand. I would really appreciate it if the solution or advice is simple enough for beginner to understand. Also, i don't want "clap" activated, i want it to be sound activated like simply speaking normally. I would probably ask even more questions in the future, so, hope i will get along well with everyone here! p.s this project is a very scaled down version because i wouldn't be able to handle the full scale electronics...

A Thermal reacting LED? Answered

Ok so I don't know much about LED's, or let alone anything about how electronics work, then only thing I know is how to code on a computer, for a computer, I don't even know how to code a PIC card or whatever... But anyway, I want to make an LED react based on a thermal image, so its camera or Thermal LED or something detects heat in a room and adjusts the power of light on an LED and also turns it off and on, kindof like another tutorial that someone had with the light table, except they didn't have instructions to build it. If you want I can draw a picture of what it should look like, but basically I want to end up with a bunch of LED's to light up when i enter my room, and later on I want to make it so that they shut off when I clap 2 times and make them udjust different light areas, so when I walk in different areas of my room, different lights go on, and then later after that I'll make it so I can change the colours of the lights by saying a different colour. If someone can help menu would greatly appreciate it and when i build it I will post the instructions on this site :D Thankyou

Oodassault 4 Prototype

Well, here's my first attempt at making my V4. It's packed with features but unfortunately it isn't reliable yet so DON'T BUILD IT! I'm probably going to end up having to totally modify it to work so I wanted to get a picture before I ended up destroying it without hopes of getting it to work. Anywho, I don't care for block pistols but after giving it a shot, it's much easier to incorporate things like a pinlock this way. I'll start listing off the features because I don't want my entire picture to be comprised of yellow boxes. Starting at back working to the front: 1. Uses a new pin concept that I've been working with. There's a red connector connected to the pin, and then the yellows are connected as show to absorb the force. In theory, this should mean that because the force isn't transferred to the connection of the pin and the band holder, it shouldn't require any sort of other force suppressors to keep the pin in. However, it does make a loud clap so I'm probably going to try adding rubber bands around the connectors (but not around the pin) to quiet it. 2. I finally added a pin lock. I'm bleh on it though as it requires a broken orange in the barrel (I just have these pieces "naturally' so I figured most K'nexers would) and a band to ensure it works, but it works nonetheless and it adds almost no friction from the way it's on. 3. I stole KSC's idea for wheels. I'm not sure how much it'll help but I figured, eh, it doesn't hurt. 4. It uses the bullpup trigger idea from my PDR so that I can have a more compact weapon with good power. 5. The handle is from my new UMP and was added to give a more comfortable angle. It also is three layers with no white rods needed. It's decent as far as comfort goes. 6. Finally, it has a tilting mag that's right in front of the handle, so it's easy to access. The problem is I need to make a better pusher and figure out a lock for the new pusher. I think the barrel is part of it because I went back to the old blue rod style. The gun isn't reliable at all. 7. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that I'm experimenting with adjustable sights. I didn't make adjustable sights for this gun, per se, but rather I added multiple folding sights that are at the same height, taller than the front sight. This means that the closer the rear sight you use, the more of an angle the gun has. I doubt this'll be useful at all but there was room so I just threw them in there much like the wheels. And that's that. The feel of the weapon is pretty nice. It's balanced. But yeah, that's all I've got to say.
