Hi, I got an instructable where the view count acts very strange. The first day stayed at 0 (never happened, almost impossible since the instructable was featured..) Now, if I look at the view count the total views are equal to the daily views (also yesterday..) This is the instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Split-Photography-with-an-analog-camera/

A word to the wise: keep your pocket change! I have a normal sized red plastic cup that I put all my spare change in. It was pretty full...but not to the brim, so I decided to count it tonight. Over $50 in quarters - 65 all together! What a pleasant surprise for me. I'll have to get some paper rolls from the bank so I can cash it in!

Hi! I am new to instructables and I have been uploading some video tutorials by embeding YouTube videos. The number of views in the instructables page is going up quickly but if I check my videos in my YouTube page I cannot see that there are that many views. Is there a reason for that? I have searched in the forum an answer for that but I cannot seem to find one. Thanks^-^

Latley I've noticed that when I recieve a few comments at one time, the couner is wrong, specificly it skips ahead a few numbers.  For example; I checked my account yesterday the number said 441, today it said 444, however when I checked the comments, I found that only two were actually new.  Has anybody else experienced this? 

What happened to the total view count list of all the authors ? It was fun watching your count move up and pass people ?

Windows Vista Internet Explorer 9 I uploaded a new instructable today and there seems to be a issue with it not being viewed and my instructable count. Take a look at the two screen caps. When I go to my Instructable's tab, 10 instructable are listed which is correct. I have marked everything in question with red boxes. On my new instructable there is no view count. When I go to "view profile" it only says I have 9 instructable, but all 10 are listed. The I click on "view all 9 instructables" and all 10 are listed. Help!   

Hey guys, i have noticed a problem with view counts when you are logged into instructables and logged off. When i am logged on, my instructable * https://www.instructables.com/id/My-400-Ikea-Ramvik-Arcade-Table/ * has over 3,150 views and 14 favorites. When i am logged off, or someone else views the instructable and isnt logged in, the view count drops to 947 and only has 9 favorites. After refreshing a couple times the view count goes up to 2,144. And then if i log back in again, the view count is back to over 3,150. Whats going on here? 

Views don't seem to be updating... My latest instructable is stopped on 0 views, with 33 comments.

I dont know if i have enough parts to make the knexsayer. I know that if i can build it it will be wihtout the stock. I can almost build the heavy cannon v2 and can build the v3 with enough parts leftover for a few pistols or a small assault rifle.

I have a group (20) of small robots that need to all end on a certain line in a grid. My question is how can I get each car to count the number of lines it crosses and when it reaches the right number it stops. The problem is I have a budget of $75 dollars to make the guidance for every car. If there was maybe some sort of central controller that would work for each or maybe it is just cheep enough to make a simple set-up for each one. Any comments or questions would be much appreciated. Hi all, I'm new to creating circuits and to instructables Here is my problem. I'm trying to create a Circuit that will count to 30 as fast a LED flashes that uses a 555 IC, once it gets to 30 you will need to press a button to reset it or the LED will stop flashing. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I published my Instructable on the weekend and it only has two views and its not showing up in the explorer. I understand about the human filters but It wouldn't normally get two views under those filters. https://www.instructables.com/id/Noteu-USB-Real-Time-Notification-Device/ Could someone tell me the possible problem? This is part of a larger project but i'm stuck on the code for the loop. to make the situation simpler lat's say: i'm trying to count the number of button pushes and light 2 different LEDs. let's say green LED for x times, after that the red LED y times and go on repetitively. in the void loop i would like to set the amount of pushes because they are variables set within the loop function and reading different inputs.

On my 'You' page on the Instructables tab, next to the Published link is a number in parenthesis. It currently says (23). When I manually count the instructables I've published, there are 27. It's not really a big deal, I was just curious if anyone knew why the number isn't displaying properly?

I recently published my BikeGen instructable and made an update to my Bike Generator instructable. After updating Bike Generator, I hit the publish tab on the Bike Generator editor, because I thought that would be needed for the updates to be added to the instructable, and then hit Save Changes. It seems that Bike Generator was republished with a new published date but this was not what I meant to do. Also when you look at the number of instructables I have on any of my instructables it says 9 but I only have 6. What happened here, did I do anything wrong?

. Is there any way for us users to monitor how many hits a page at Ibles is getting? In particular, I would like to track how many hits Kiteman's Law (spread the word) and similar FAQ pages are getting.. TIA

It has been over a month since there was any activity in it. So I was wondering if it has gone Bye Bye.  I only discovered it this year and even though I hit a target  number I never got any patches. Sigh,  always the best man and never the groom.

Hi i have a rotating axis which i want to transform into a digital system. With this i mean it has a disc attached to it with numbers on it, which rotates with the axis. After the first disc there is another disc, which turns only a little bit, and only if the first disc has rotated 360 degrees(so that after 9 comes 10) This way i should be able to make a third, and fourth disc, which work the same way as the second. Then it is a counting system. I have thought about how i could do it, my ideas were all so complicated i could impossible make the discs a little close to eachother. Is there an "official" technique for this or does anyone of you have an idea how i could do this? thanks ps: here is a simplified image of it for if you didn't understand what i meant

Here's this week's total views count! This forum topic is a printout of the results of a Perl script I run weekly. To be included in it, join this group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the  page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. Here's this week's total views count. To get on the list and have your stats monitored each week and get patches, join the group. If you joined since last week's run, you won't be on the list yet since the script to update the database with members isn't working yet. I hope to get it fixed this weekend. I also need a new name for the group. Over the next week I will be able to automatically hand out patches every day for Total Views, Comments, Forum Topics, Number of Instructables, Number of Followers, Number Following, Answers and Best Answers. With this in mind my weekly forum topic every friday will contain: 1) A list welcoming all the new members that have joined that week 2) A list of who's been awarded what patch that week so we can see each other achieve important milestones 3) A list of links to lists like the one below, one list for each type of stat so that you can compare your progress to your friends. So I need a new name for the group to reflect these changes, since total views count no longer reflects what the group will do. Please make suggestions in the comments below. To be included in it, join this  group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the You page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. I hand out patches as achievements when members of the group reach 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k and 1m views. To be included in it, join this  group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the You page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. Sorry! ----- This forum topic is a printout of the results of a Perl script I run weekly. To be included in it, join this  group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the You page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. So please help me to known  what the chip CD4520 - CD4510- CD4029- CD40193  or other IC  can instead of 74193 (TTL  or CMOS don't matter). Here's this week's stack of total views. Congratulations to Canida, who passed 4 MILLION views this week and to Zieak who reached 1 million! I finally fixed the bug that meant new members that were on the second page of the membership page didn't get included in the count, so those who were left out before should see a gain starting from when I run it next week. And lastly, and explanation of what this forum topic is about, since it caused some confusion last week, I hadn't been including a link and description since I figured everyone already knew what it was.... This forum topic is a printout of the results of a Perl script I run weekly. To be included in it, join this  group. The Perl script visits the profile page of each member of the group and extracts their Total Views then saves them to a file that can be opened by me in Excel. I then post the last 3 columns so everyone can compare their weekly gain with their friends. While you can easily see this data for you on the You page, this script allows people to compare their success/gain with their friends. I hand out patches as achievements when members of the group reach 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k and 1m views. Tomorrow will be the first time I've posted stats from my Total Views Count script since January. I had some problems with the script breaking and losing the data, then was very busy throughout February/March since I was at Instructables HQ as an Artist in Residence, then when I got home to the UK I didn't have the motivation to fix it. Well, I've now started work on it again and last Friday I ran it for the first time since January. Tomorrow I'll be running it again and will have a gain value for each group member to share with everyone. It's still not completely finished, below is a description of how it worked before, how I've changed it and what I'm going to change further. Skip to the last bit if you want to read what the group's going to change into. Where it was: I used to run the group once per week by opening a Perl script on my desktop computer. The script automatically visited each of your profiles and added the total views count to a new column in a spreadsheet. Instructables updated some code, my script got confused, didn't update the spreadsheet properly and so all the data went screwy. I had to then post a forum topic and hand out patches, it took a long time. Where it is now: I've rewritten the Perl script, it now saves the data to a MySQL database instead of a spreadsheet. It also gathers far more data: total views, number of instructables, comments total, best answers total, number of forum topics, number of subscribers. I have a web page that looks up the total views from that database and displays a list I can copy to a forum topic. I still have to run it manually like before but it's much less hassle. Where it's going: I have spent a few hours working on learning to get Perl scripts working on my personal website. I can now automatically run them once per day, which I didn't know how to do. I now need to: 1) Check that the total views script will run daily 2) Write functionality to patch automatically 3) Design more patches! Once I have total views patches sending automatically I would like to award people for the following:   Total Views: 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k, 250k, 500k, 1m Subscribers: 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 Answers: 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 Best Answers: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 Instructables: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 200 Comments: 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 Subscriptions: The newest site update now lets me see how many people YOU'VE subscribed to. The more you subscribe to. You'll earn patches for more subscriptions. If you're arty and want to help out with this bit, please volunteer, it'll save me some time and they'll look prettier. The cartoons Caitlinsdad did for the total views patches were fantastic, but last time I asked he was too busy to design more. 4) Implement automatic sending out of all of the types of patches 5) Change the name of the group to reflect that it no longer really is just to show a list of total views. That's been surpassed when HQ added the baseball cards to profiles. Got a suggestion? Once done, the weekly forum topic that I post will become a pretty list of who's been awarded what patches. Favorites of my instructable are zero. Was 59. On my last instructable more then 1k visualization. No favorites. I saw several instructables that had many favorites, now zero. Nobody signaled this?
