If you could have a custom bass (or have one) what would it be like? If i had one, it would have the cutaway style of a Music man bongo, with tribunal flame bridge. the end of the body would have a sort of curved flying v style to it. The finish would be a sort of metallic blue and black flame. KIllswitch, and a couple of built in effects, couple gaine and tone knobs. 5 string, with the usual music man head. Maybe a bit different though, all thats just off the top of my head.

Savage innovations does not offer a small OOPic chip. OOPic is my favorite MCU and I want a small one. Soooo, I decided I want to make one. In theory, The process is simple. The OOPic 2 is a PIC16F77 with custom firmware. I ordered a similar chip (PIC16F876A) to put the firmware on so I basically have a smaller OOPic. Savage innovations does not offer the OOPic firmware as a download so I have to extract it from my OOPic2. Here's my questions. Will a JDM2 programmer be able to extract the firmware? Will WinPic800 work to do this? Will this erase my OOPic's firmware entirely? Is it even possible? I would like some input and if you guys say it will be okay, I am going to do it. (I'll post and ible if it works.

Im interested in the motivations behind people collecting things, the value that these objects have to the owner and how these objects are displayed within the home environment. Any pictures you could take of your own 'collections' of objects ( these could be anything from stamps to vinyl toys to fabrics etc) would be great too. Im interested in whether an emotional bond with the collection grows with the amount of objects in the collection. How people interact with their collections? Any rituals performed around your collections? etc any help would be awesome comments feedback etc. Are there any social aspects of collecting which are important to you? -cheers chris

I'm planning to build a new computer desk with space inside to manage cables. I would like to include various ports on the side edges of the desk itself (power outlets, USB, hdmi, etc). What could I use to fit these outlets in place and look flush with the desk? I would like to come up with something somewhat modular, so that I can add or remove them as I upgrade my PC.

Hello people. I'm new to this business of building laptops, so I don't know anything, even where to get the parts. I would like to build a nice gaming laptop. My budget is 1000$, so if anyone is able to post a good set of parts including the barebone (so the parts would fit the barebone). Thanks in advance.

Hello again everone. I am building a custom acrylic computer system and I have everything up and running just fine, all but the sound system. What I did was, I found two different speaker units and removed the speakers and accessories from the cases to make the cp system have just to speaker units installed in it. Ok here I go!. I removed a speaker and two tweeters from one unit and I removed the two speakers and the power amp from the other unit. How do I connect the all three speakers to the power amp and onto the audio card connected to the motherboard on the pc. I took some pictures for you to look at and see what I am up against. Need your help. so I am thanking you in advance for information about this . Eljero.

I wanted to figure out how to create a skin for large items such as refrigerators, washing machines, etc. I am having trouble conceptualizing the necessary steps to completely hide cosmetic blemishes on large machines and appliances. Would creating a skin be a good solution? I am guessing there is a more elegant way than simply placing a large image printout underneath glass? Also FYI, some of the appliances are completely brand new so I would ideally want a "top layer" solution as opposed to a "painting" solution. Nice to have features: 1. weather proof 2. Can be easily swapped with new design

What I want to do is this, -get rid of my alarms stupid sounds -insert a custom sound -do it cheap -and make it small enough I can still put it in a custom casing (the casing is the easy part, I'll have no issue making that.) I have looked around and have seen several ways to hack alarm clocks but I can't see how any of them would help me out with this particular problem. The way I see it I will probably need to rewire the clock so that it sends power to an external device when the speakers are supposed to go off. The only other way I can think of is having a small computer with one of those pre-programmed clocks but that would be more expensive than buying the sound recording clocks and a bigger pain to fit into the casing. I also think I heard someone talk about making homemade circuits, I don't know if that would work at all but it's worth mentioning. I would like to be able to find easy to follow instructions that are CLEAR and not super complicated. Any help would be appreciated! BTW, yes, I have looked at the sound recording clocks online and they all look like crap or are way to expensive to bother with.

The standard page size of the pdf's is always Letter format, maybe it's a good idea to have an option for a different format when you choose to customize your pdf, I live in Europe and my paper size i use is A4 for example but I can imagine that somewhere else we have other paper sizes.

Hello! I'm giving my girlfriend a GBA SP AGS-101 for her birthday for when she studies abroad so she has something to do on train rides. I'm hoping to make the gift a little more personal by customizing the housing! I'm re-shelling my SP with a new black shell. To customize it, I want to either create the signature Twin Peaks chevron pattern on the SP, or engrave/paint this symbol on the front somehow. Any tips on how to do this most effectively and permanently?

I purchased a pretty standard black sketchbook with a hardcover, and I had this really cool idea of lining the entire back with 2 rows of metal studs. The metal studs are the kind with four prongs that are meant to pierce through whatever material, but with the said material in this case being the spine of a book and all, im kind of lost for ideas. does anyone have any ideas how i can do this?

Has anybody had a real bad experience with a customer? or a customer with an employee? So i was once worked at an ice cream parlor.A woman says to me in Spanish and the only word i recognized was chocolate (there's actually two chocolate flavors, regular and chocolate pecan ) so i gave her the pecan one ...she tastes it and she threw it at me, (lucky for me i had to do the long shift). On that same day another woman showed up and asked for chocolate pecan in broken English and i asked waffle or cone (people never specify waffle or cone) she gave me a dirty look and i gave her the cone, she throws it down on the ground, Being the only one there and I had to mop it up, some customers are yelling at me in spanish (later i figured out it was bad words). So by the end of that day i had about 5 people throw ice cream at me 2 were adults and 3 were kids. But i didnt quit because of that it was because the manager keep making me work on days i had school

With all this 3d printing now days, and some of it is being used with K'nex I'm wondering if there are more things that need to be added to the range. Now i can understand that K'nex with its target at younger folks (the highest age they list is 9+) it probably isn't feasible for them to spend the time developing some things. And the things im talking about? Pneumatics More powerful motors Custom gears (sizes, rack and pinion, worm gears) Servos A more dedicated robotics system anything else i may have missed? Just peoples thoughts on whether this is worth pursuing, perhaps even make them for sale (please don't sue me K'nex)

I need hardware(IC's, motherboards, etc.) and I need drivers and the OS (Stack, boot image etc.). Resources to get these are not in my knowledge.

Hey everyone. I'm trying to recreate the vest from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I know it sounds strange, but I really want that vest. I've been obsessing over it for a long time. Now, I look at the vest on display, and I can't decide if it's a knitted vest or made out of fabric, like sewn together. It looks like it has an elastic band around the waist and a black collar, so I think it might be sewn. But I can't get that fabric anywhere. Is there any way to order custom textiles that ISN'T Spoonflower.com? I don't want printed textiles, but something woven. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have no idea where to even look, mostly because I don't know the terminology. THANKS!! -Max

So I've come up with a sweet idea for sweatshirts for the Deutsch Klub at my school, but the only problem is that the diamond pattern is a bit expensive. Apparently the local retailer that the club usually gets it's sweatshirts from doesn't have a machine capable of printing the pattern over the entire shirt, as I understand it. Or it just costs too much. But anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows of an online retailer that I could get that pattern from (or a similar one at least) for fairly cheap. Thanks in advance.

Years ago (before computers), I worked in a lab where we were called upon to make clear plastic rulers with precise increments. We had a simple machine to accomplish the job. It was an ingenious gadget that held the plastic in place and with a turn of a crank, it moved the plastic a set distance and simultaneously scribed the plastic with a metal point. The precise divisions could be set with a dial and all you had to do was turn the crank. Has anyone ever seen one of these machines? If so - what is it called and how would you make one?

Over the last few months I have experienced sporadic problems with being logged out in mid-session. It is becoming worse. Now pretty much anytime I do anything requiring a page refresh or change, I get logged out. It took me three logins to get to this page so I could post this message. Basically none of the Pro benefits are functional. I cannot access PDFs, additional images, or much of anything which my Pro membership supposedly provides. I am obviously not the only person with this or similar problems. Please resolve this issue or cancel my Pro subscription and refund my payment. I love the site but I don't love paying for benefits which I can't access!

Ok, I have a question. If my friend and I began to build unique cigar box, tin, and slide guitars, would people buy them? We would make them with much more craftsmenship than the ones I have previously build. We would take our time and do our best to make them playable guitars. Would anyone out there contemplate buying one for mabe $35-$50? They would be similar to the links below. https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-an-Electric-Cigar-Box-Guitar-for-25/ https://www.instructables.com/id/Cigar-Box-Guitar/ https://www.instructables.com/id/3-string-slide-guitar/ https://www.instructables.com/id/My-Cigar-Box-Guitar-with-cigar-box-amp/ https://www.instructables.com/id/My-First-Box-Guitar/ Also, we would probably sell through craigslist or ebay, maybe even using youtube or instructables to get the word out. If you are interested, contact me because we will be making these plus other products.

I remeber back to the summer I was at an arcade playing Ghost Squad. Now that it is out on the wii, the fun was only half way there. I played with the wii zapper, and as much fun as it was, it just isn't cutting it. My favorite part was the force feedback gun that gave some recoil. I decided to go making my own, but I can't think of something to give enough punch. I plan to make a PVC gun outline and encase the wii remote. I would then rig a trigger on the PVC rifle to pull the fire button on the wii remote. From there, I could connect the wires so at a certain point on the PVC trigger pull, an electrical current would be completed activating the recoil. I started with thinking about takeing out the rumble motors in some old game controlers, but that would only go so far. I really wanted a staight back and forth movement. I started to think about taking a piston similar to an airsoft gun, were the motor cranks a gear that pulls the pistion back. This gear as some teeth shaved clean so that after so far of an extend, the teeth would inentially slip causing the built up spring to push the piston back into the starting position. Before it got too complicated and I started to build it, I wanted to make sure this was possible. Is it possible/practical? What type of feedback should I use, and were can I get it? -John
