I need to power two stepper motors off of 7.4VDC, and am trying to figure out the best, most cost efficient way. What type of DC booster circuit would be best for this application? Do I need any noise filter? If yes, what kind? If I understand correctly, Stepper motors need a constant current. Does this limit my selection of DC boosters/step up devices?

It would be great to playback MIDI files as Control Voltages via the USB port. Any suggestions or possibly any already viable solution? I know there is a similar arduino project, as well as several MIDI-to-CV converters, but it would seem to be pretty straightforward to convert MIDI to Control Voltages output through USB. Any thoughts on the subject? Any existing solution? I seem to remember seeing a commercial product for this, but a homebrew version would certainly be welcome.
Hi, smart people of the internet :) Is there a power supply or a converter that can be set on a specific voltage and current, and keep both constant at the same time? I looked at ebay converters like B3606, DPS5015, BST400 and the like. They all have constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) settings, but they can't do both at the same time. If for example the current being drawn is too high, the unit switches from CV to CC and drops the voltage as much as needed to keep the current constant. Is a simultaneous CC CV power supply even a thing? Thanks!

Were using open cv for the face recognition part and we need a wireless interface between the computer and image acquisition device. we originally planned on using matlab for the face recognition part but decided to stick with open cv ...... For the image acquisition device we wanted to make a bluetooth camera using a cmos camera and bluetooth modules . I need a suggestion if the project is possible and how to interface the system . I was thinking of using some 2w leds which i already have for home emergency lighting setup. So... the main question is how much current would each of the leds be reciving from one driver. will it be 350ma to each of the led or 350ma total to both the leds... ie 175ma to each led. Thank you

Hi, I know Ive missed this competition but I am about to start a big project and wanted to share my ideas with some like-minded individuals who may have some suggestions. I am about to embark on a 4th year university project involving doing something clever with an iRobot Create. I am looking towards approaching the problem of location recognition in mobile robots by attaching a command module and a webcam to the robot and using computer vision (CV) methods to identify landmarks. I thought an interesting goal would be to get the robot to map a floor of my department building. After that it might attempt to classify distinct rooms. There is a white board on the wall of a corridor that the robot could potentially locate and possibly draw on with the use of a robotic arm. The ultimate goal of this project could then be to get the robot to draw a map of the floor on the white board (perhaps a bit excessive). I am aware this project would involve implementing SLAM, integrating the map data with feature information from CV-processed real-time images and developing some kind of recognition determination model (i.e. neural networks or something). After that I clueless. I have never even looked at a robot before, but Im really excited about finally having a go. I would really appreciate it if anyone has any thoughts or relevant experiences or warnings :) then please let me know! Hi and thanks for reading my question. I wear reading glasses and have had some pretty good luck with a pair that I purchased at CVS approximately four years ago. The only thing that has went wrong is that the clear-coating, that used to cover the inside of the glass's "arms" has worn off, from the rubbing of the inside of the arms against my head as I put the glasses on and take the glasses off. Does anybody please have any suggestions about what I should use to re-coat the arms of my reading glasses? Hello there Everyone! I am trying to Do a project where I can use Small LCD screens (perferably a CVS disposable camera 1.4" TFT screen) The problem is I'm not quite sure how to go about hooking them up to a RCA, or S-video input. My whole project hinges upon me getting a good LCD or OLED monitor as they need to be fairly high quality. I cannot seem to find many small LCD or OLED suppliers out there so I am hoping this can be done with the disposible. I would also like to ask if anyone does have information on where to buy small, detailed LCDs that can receive RCA. I considered using a cell phone screen but it seems that you need to break down an analog RCA input and digitize it to be viewed on the screen, something that needs a beefy micro controller and programing knowhow, of which i have neither. Please lend a hand, and you may see my first instructable, of something rather awesome.

I was looking to add a microphone input to my lilliputian Flip MinoHD. My current thinking is that I could just take the leads from the current, built-in, mic and run them to a two-position switch. From there I could then have a 1/8" input on one side of the switch and the original mic on the other. Then it would all be a matter of dremeling out a small spot for the input and the switch on the side of the body so that I could select which input to use.First of all, I'd like to know if that would even work. I've done electronics work before, but have never worked with mics, so for all I know I might just walking down the pathway to a voided warranty and a bricked Flip.Secondly, I was wondering whether there might be a method of bypassing the need for a switch, so that if there was no mic present the camera would use the built-in mic, and if there was, it would use the input.Any help would be greatly appreciated. European Voluntary Service (EVS) is an Erasmus+ program for young people (17-30 years old) who want to spend a long time living in a different country and with almost all the cost paid: apartment, wifi, transport, food... Bataviawerf (Lelystad, Netherlands) is a dockyard with special ambitions. Ships from the golden century which has been important in our maritime history, are reconstructed here. I'm a Mechanical working in the LED field. I'm trying to design a LED circuit with the little knowledge I have. Here is my circuit in a nutshell: 3.2 Vf typ - 3.6 Vf MAX -.150 mA 24 volt CV PS supplying 3.3 A 7 series in parallel with 22 chains I calculated using typical Vf as the following: 24/3.2 = 7.5 devices so I rounded down to 7 devices in a series chain. 7*3.2 = 22.4 volts required 24 supplied - 22.4 volts = 1.6 volts to dissipate. Resistance = 1.6/.150A = 10.67 ohms Wattage across resistor = 1.6*.150 = .24 W So I found a SM resitor 10.7 Ohms at .25 W. I have a concern with Vf variance. Would this circuit not work if I get Vf's higher than 3.2 Vf? So if I change my circuit to 6 devices per series chain I need 19.2 volts and need to dissipate 4.8 volts. This just seems like a waste.I still do not understand Vf variance. If I design for 6 and dissipate 4.8 volts with a resistor - won't the series chain be starved if Vf goes higher? So how do you accommodate this variance? I just have worries about this design - regardless if I design for 6 or 7. I know some about LEDs but I do not know what happens when I get Vf variance. Does the resistor go at the end of the series circuit? If this is the case then I understand how variance in the circuit would be able to use available voltage - and then the resistor is at the end to disipate what is left over. I've heard concerns that I'm not allowing for more head room #i.e. doubling the resistor value and wattage requirements). If I double the voltage dropped don't I take this away from the LED circuit possibly starving it? I have always assumed the resistor goes at the beginning of the circuit - regulating the current/voltage prior to it entering the LED series circuit.?

I am currently working on a simple headphone audio amp that automatically adjusts volume to my preference, regardless of what video I click on when it is plugged into a computer. I am tired of some video's being so quiet that I have to crank up the volume to overdrive to hear it, while other video's blast out sound and burst my eardrums. And of course when watching photonicinduction videos, he often can be hard to hear his voice at really low volume at like 12 at night when everyone is asleep, but then the sparks and hammers come into the picture, it is often too late to crank the volume back down, and thus makes your ears bleed or waking everyone up in the neighborhood! X-(. (Luckily he has included sound warnings, but I am lazy, and will engineer things that do the hard work of adjusting volume for me! :) ) In a way, I understand that this will minimize the dynamic range, which I suppose hardcore "audiophiles" will go NUTS over me actually WANTING to do that, but none the less, That is what I want. My design currently is just a simple emitter follower with a NPN and PNP transistor is the class AB operation, and to minimize crossover distortion and give a definite gain, I have negative feedback op amp from the output of the totem pole transistor arrangement back to the inputs that feed the base of the low and high side transistor. (obviously, the transistors by themselves are low impedance output, (CV mode) and high impedance input, and have a gain of like 1.) Sorry, no schematics, but you capable of googling it if you want to see what I am describing. As it is, it works fine. HOWEVER, it does not do the automatic volume, or gain control. That is set in stone by a resistor divider network between the feedback and ground (the basic non inverting amp feedback config.) I do not want a fixed gain. I want a electrically adjustable gain. The thing I plan to use to do the automatic adjustment would be a peak detector on the input, which is probably going to be a simple diode and capacitor with a buffer, and a discharge resistor (or constant current drain) across the capacitor to gradually lower the max output, or possibly an integrating op amp that effectively takes a running average. The output of that needs to control GAIN of the primary amplifier, and I want to be able to control the PID of that thing, maybe by tuning the a LCR circuit, or what have you. It is all nice and analog, just the way I like it! :) If ONLY there was some magical (and common) component that I could control the resistance anywhere in the feedback loop, of with a given voltage w/ respect to ground... I was thinking of like a MOSFET, but I would have to deal with the non linearity of the input vs output impedance, which probably changes with respect to everything from the current flowing through the channel, the voltage relative to ground at the source, the temperature, the alignment of the planet's, what mood god is in, etc etc etc. That is too many factors for an open loop control on to model in discrete stuff! And digital potentiometers are out of the question since, well they are digital, I want an elegant simple solution, and the are $$ and difficult to deal with. They have so many requirements that need to be addressed. I prefer a elegant discrete transistor circuit, but op amps and other basic building blocks are acceptable, (this thing I want to be built over a weekend with with jellybean parts from by junk bin.) if you happen to know of a specific audio chip that does this for me, please mention it, but I will probably not use it, but maybe analyze the internal circuitry and learn how it works.

Disheartened by contest results, I really feel like pulling some of my instructables and not publishing any further ones (I am taking some time right now to work on another project I was documenting for instructables but I feel like there isn't a point to the extra time involved in pausing to take pictures of every little thing). It probably seems silly, but I did end up shoving a whole bunch of my priorities aside to make sure it was in before the deadline. My original idea was not among the top 5%, some of which were things I could buy derivatives of in a store or have definitely seen before. I guess I am just looking for affirmation that this is a pretty commonplace occurrence, and as a first time contest entrant that eventually something will pan out and I'll wind up with a tshirt (I mean that's pretty much all I want out of the deal, the prizes are nice but the tshirts are cooler. not that anyone would really ask about them, but maybe when I visit geek-saturated areas...) if I keep trying. Perhaps I was too confident and it takes way more than 50 hours to make a winning instructable (through all my trials and errors, it might have been more than 50) You could tell me that my pictures or use of language were not as good as the others, but I am pretty sure I have a decent command of the English language and most of my photos were ok, with the exception of having a few from a cellphone, in the dimly lit space I had to work in. Granted, those steps were so self-explanatory others would've just added them as a sentence i.e. "Cut the chain". I also went through the other entries, also from last year, and was pretty certain I'd place. Could ascribing it as "NoDerivs" possibly have anything to do with how the sponsor judged it? I just don't want someone using their modified idea for an NGO without considering consulting me, I am only partially employed and am looking for that kind of employment, even being consulted without pay would be a CV boost at this point. I could care less how many people make it for themselves or other groups in their backyards, as long as they aren't selling the idea or trying to one-up me. Perhaps I should consider a different license attribute and just write in plain text what I mean by it? How does everyone else network to get people to vote for their entries? When your instructable is complicated, how do you shorten it enough to make sure people of all levels can understand? Do a few cellphone pictures in an instructable of many photos ruin it (I don't always have a camera on hand and until super recently I didn't have an SLR as mine was stolen in Peru - I had to borrow one for some of my photos)? Not as many people seem to like my most complicated instructable, so I wonder if length or complexity factors in... Do you think length factors into contest decisions? Because my next project is also long, as unique ideas often are. And I don't want to skip describing details and just say "put the capacitor in" or "build a rectifier circuit" when, since I started building circuits this Fall (partially thanks to instructables), I would have wanted to know details like to bend legs of a capacitor if I was following an instructable, and I was super confused by an instructable (a featured one at that) that said simply "build a rectifier circuit". Sigh, I guess I am just bitter that I won't get one of those awesome tshirts. should I post the next idea on instructables once it is completed or not? Or are ideas like that generally not appreciated in this community? (hint: it is similar to the light up swing powered by a bicycle dynamo I posted, but implements another piece of playground equipment instead). Perhaps I should just keep them to myself until I've built them beyond working prototypes? Sorry for all the questions and being a Debbie Downer, I am just reflecting on what could have factored into my entry not having been selected as one of the top 25. I was pretty sure it was at least in the top 10 or so. If I am going to improve on future projects, I want to know what I should consider focusing on, and if complex projects don't really belong here (or if others have good ideas on how to shorten them). MARKET STREET PROTOTYPING FESTIVAL OPEN CALL Autodesk Keystone Project Call Opens: July 11, 2014 Call Closes: September 2, 2014 Shortlist Interviews: September 17-19, 2014 Proposal Selection: October 1, 2014 CALL SUMMARY: The San Francisco Planning Department has partnered with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) to produce the Market Street Prototyping Festival: an innovative, hands-on, publicly sourced approach to creating the next chapter of San Francisco’s public life. The Market Street Prototyping Festival builds upon a five-year, multi-agency effort for a Better Market Street to re-establish San Francisco’s civic spine as a place to stop and spend time, meet friends, people watch, or just stroll and experience the scenery. As a formal piece of the planning process, the Prototyping Festival will commission and exhibit up to 50 design projects that aim to improve lives by improving public spaces. Each of the selected prototype projects will be installed on Market Street for the full duration of the three-day festival, which will take place in April 9-11, 2015. Matched with one of five Festival Districts on Market, selected teams will work directly with community members to shape the direction of their designs. The call for applications for those 50 projects is currently open and will close on September 2nd, 2014. More information on that process can be found on the Market Street Prototyping Festival website. Market Street will be broken out into 5 districts along the corridor: Civic Center, Central Market, Retail, Financial, Embarcadero. Each district, or "Block," will be represented by a Block Captain. Each Captain will mentor 10 selected prototyping teams and will be responsible for developing their own Keystone Project that will serve as the primary focal point for each district. As the Block Captain for the Embarcadero district, Autodesk is seeking proposals from engineers, industrial designers, architects, artists, and interactive designers for a large-scale Keystone Project to serve as a physical, visual and social anchor for the Embarcadero section of the festival. While there is no official theme for the festival itself, the Autodesk Keystone Project should relate to the ethos “Inspire, Design, Create.” Additionally, it should connect to the character of the Pier 9 Workshop where artists, designers and fabricators are empowered to test the limits of existing technology, both digital and mechanical. Special consideration may be given to projects that incorporate the following themes related to place-making and the unique social and spatial conditions of the Embarcadero district: • site specificity: social, cultural, geographic, and civic histories • connecting digital and physical realms • daring experimentation/playful prototyping • edge condition: city + waterfront • wayfinding and transportation networks LOCATION: Over the course of the festival, the city anticipates foot traffic of over 300,000 visitors. The Keystone Project may be installed anywhere within the festival’s Embarcadero district, which starts at the intersection of Market and Spear Street, extending to the traffic island at Embarcadero and Market, possibly including Jimmy Herman Plaza. For ZSDW: I've been in the zombie hype for awhile, (about a year ago,) and after finishing a couple of Zplans, I decide it would be fun to kill some zombies with dice and statistics. Alas, this is quite the beta, and it generally uses d6's, as well as some skewed grammar and stats. First things first. You are not a specified character. You have no character sheet, you have no special abilites. The following few paragraph will explain a few confusing things, and give hints on how your location will affect your game. Then, there will basic weapon stats. Later, there will be about how zombies affect you, and what kinds of zombies there are, and their health. You will also learn how you can scrounge for stuff from bodies. Subdivide means to roll for what section it is applicable for. Say your about to go into a room, you would roll for SURVIVOR and ZACH Room check. Say you get a four(4). That means there is something in the room. You would then decide if it was locked. (Unnecessary, but for extra gameplay, most are going to be locked. Hit the lock with something, and roll for it's regular attack. If the attack is successful, you broke the lock. If not, well, you may have to literally blow up the door, or say that you cannot go into the room.) Let's say no lock for times sake. Now, you know something/someone is in there. Subdivide by rolling what it is. Second line of Survivor and Zach Room Check shows this. Luckily, you roll a one(1). That means a Military person is in the room. They can have Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Rifles with Scoped subclass, And Scatterguns with the Breacher Barrel subclass. You can only find them in Military bases, Start Variable Location:Warzone, or ALERTNESS Yellow or higher. When moving through a house, roll for room encounters. You may roll for how many rooms you must go through,( If I roll 5, I need to go through 5 rooms before getting out, or to destination around/in house) so you must roll for encounters/room searches while in those rooms.(You would roll 5 times in this case for People and Zach Room check rolls.) In a house, you may roll for RUN, so 1-2 success, and go to the next room. 4-6, unsuccessful, roll for Scratch. (1-3 Scratched, 4-6 safe.) ALERTNESS is just a guide for what zombies are available to kill. The ALERTNESS bar is unnecessary; however it adds another angle to the game. It is at the back of this guide. Ideas, Tips and Otherwise: Tanks, APCs, Pickups, convenience stores, Molotov Cocktail, Improvised weapons, have some fun, and add to this game! Make up some weapons, apply variable splash damage, and just make sure you kill some Zach! Your start variables should be placed on a separate sheet, for reference. Say for location you picked rainforest/jungle, (your geography, weather, and season fits that description.) you will need/want to roll for Scratches more. (For realism, generally, there will be more crawlers, same with Aristriked Urban.) Same for Urban, and Airstriked-Urban, (Broken buildings, rubble, etc.) or Warzone. (More military personnel. Tanks? Have some fun! :) START VARIABLES (At the top of the game sheet.) Location: Geography: Weather: Season: # Zach's: Zach's Location: Population Density: Specialized Setting: Attack Rolls: Locks (Y/N): Scratch (Y/N): Alertness Level (Y/N): Supplies (Y/N): Leg Break (Y/N): Travel Days (Y/N): Supplies is a form of food, ammunition, and other necessary items for a single day. Each survivor in your current group takes 1 supply per day. Supplies can be found by subdividing if your preceding ROOM SEARCH roll is 1-2. If Travel Days is active/applicable, your group takes only 4 supplies per day, individual people in your group do not take any supplies, and you cannot be attacked by Z's. Travel Days are good if you have more than 4 people in your group, and have low health, or need to get somewhere. BITES are fatal, you take 3 supplies when bitten, then the following day you become a Z. Your group can take your weapons. SCRATCH'S are non-fatal; you take 2 supplies for 3 days. (7supplies, because of the one you took the day you were bitten, then the 6 you will take for the following days.) For all melee attacks, roll for bone breaks. 1-2 break, 3-5 Scratched, 6 safe. Scratch disables RANGED and FIREARMS attacks. For disabled, or failed melee attacks, 1-2 = arms, or arm, 3-4 =legs, or leg, 5-6 = chest or neck break. A Neck Break Disable turns Zach melee attacks to 2 bitten, 1 and 3 scratched, 4-6 safe. Arms/Legs breaks decreases that zombies fighting ability to 2 bitten, 1 and 3 scratched, 4-5 safe, 6 breaks leg of human. When a human has a leg broken, he/she takes two supplies per day, and halves the amount of current PTD. (Play Time per Day) To determine the time a day takes to complete, roll for the PTD, or Play Time per Day. This is found by rolling a 6 sided dice, then multiplying the number on the dice by 3. This is approximately how long a "day" is in the ZRPG, in minutes. You will need a watch or timer to play this game, if you want to apply PTD. FIREARMS Scattergun(Shotgun) = 1-3 hit, 4-6 miss, Melee 1-4 hit, 5-6 disabled. RANGE:3 This affects a maximum of 3 Zs. Roll for 1-2 1 Zach affected, 3-4 2 Zach affected, 5-6 3 Zach affected. Sub-Class: Breacher Barrel, 1-2 hit, instant death upon Z's, breaches locked doors/drywall (Apartments, this happens if you like to shoot stuff, or the lock you just suck at opening wont unlock,). Pistol = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. RANGE: 4 Melee 1-3 hit, 4-6 failed, if failed, roll for scratches, Z is disabled if successful hit. Subdivide for disable type. RANGE: 1 Sub-Class: Laser, 1-5 hit, 6 miss. RANGE: 5 Rifle = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. RANGE: 10 Melee 1-2 hit, instant kill, 3-5 disabled, 6 scratched. RANGE: 2 Sub-Class: Sighting-Laser, 1-4 hit, 5 miss, 6 disable. RANGE: 12. Bayonet, see knife attack roll. Scope, 1-9 successful on 12 sided die. RANGE: 16 Assault Rifle = 1-4 hit, 5 miss, 6 instant kill or disable, you pick. RANGE: 14 Sub-Class: Grenade Launcher, 1-4, instant 4 Z's kill, when applicable. 5-6 miss Blows open walls/doors, when you fail assault rifle as a prerequisite to use a grenade launcher. Sub-Machine gun: 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Has a three round burst, you can hit a Z 3 times, or 3 Z’s 1 time each, or any combination thereof. Sub-Class: BLUNTS Crowbar = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Sub-Class: N/A 2x4 = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Sub-Class: Additional Spike/Nail 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss, roll for instant kill, or instant disable. Sheet Metal Tipped, instant disable 1-4, 5-6 miss. Bat = 2-5 hit, 1 and 6 miss. Sub-Class:Aluminum Bat, 1-3 and 6 hit, 4 bat bends (You cannot use the bat anymore) 5 miss, instant disable if hit is successful. Steel Bat 2-5 hit, 1 and 6 miss, instant kill if hit is true. Sledgehammer = 1-3 hit, 4-6 miss, roll for Scratch if hit is false, insant disable/kill, subdivide for odd/even. You cannot attack next round, but you can use a secondary. Sub-Class: Industrial size, 1-5 hit, 6 miss, instant kill, Scratch if miss. You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again. SHARPS Axe = 1-2 hit, 3-6 miss, instant kill. You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again. Sub-Class:Double Sided axe, 1-3 hit, kills 2 Z's. You may use this twice on your turn, You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again. Thrown 1-4 hit, instant disable. 5-6 miss. When you successfully instant kill or disable a zombie, you lose your knife. Sub-Class: Improvised weapon w/ rifle. 1-4 instant kill, 5-6 disable. RANGED Bow and Arrow =1-3 hit, 5-4 disabled, 6 miss. Sub-Class: Bomb Arrows,1-4 instant death. Fire Arrows 1-4 hit, roll again, 1-3 immolates Z's, 4-6 damages torso. See Molotov Cocktail effects. Molotov Cocktail = 1-5 hit, 6 immolated, dies 3 days. Buildings burn 3 days. Sub-Class:Alcohol Bomb, 1-6 hit, no misses. 2 Alcohol Bombs kill a Z, 2 days. Starts building fire. Room Search Rolls: WEAPON SEARCH: 1 = FIREARMS, Subdivide for type, pistols and scatters only 2-4 = SHARP, 5 = BLUNT, 6 = RANGED, no Crossbows/Archers Bow. ITEM SEARCH: 1-2 = Supplies, when applicable. This is probably CVS's Walgreens, SURVIVOR and ZACH ROOM CHECK: For a room check, use a d20. 1-4 Z-Encounter, 6-9 survivor, 10-15 nothing, 16-20 supplies. If you roll 16-20, roll a d6. You gain supplies equal to the number on the d6. For a zombie encounter, roll a d6 for number of Z's AWARENESS LEVELS L. Green = Near None Civilian Known Only Green = Slight Civilian Known Only, possible Police help. D. Green = LOW Slight Media Coverup, L.Yellow = Less than medium More Media, Local Police Intervention Yellow = MEDIUM Full Media, Government Denying D. Black = Finished game The world is destroyed and there are zero humans left on earth. Zombies are the dominant species now. They will walk the earth, scrounging, trying to fill the hole that can never be filled. Good job, how could you let this happen? Z's or Zach Types These zombies are put where applicable. Normal Zachs, and Fat Zachs are found everywhere. If you miss while attacking a Z, subdivide if they hit you. If you are hit by a Z, you become one in 1 day. You take 3 supplies for that day, if applicable. 1-4 Z bites you, 5 they Scratch you, 6 is miss. Normal Zach’s = 1 hits to kill apply infection normally.(Found in AWARENESS level: Near none) Fat Zach’s = 2 hits to kill, lower bite rolls to 1 bitten, 2-6 safe.(Found in AWARENESS level: near none) Mil Zach’s = 4 hits with FIREARMS and RANGED, 3 hits melee. (Found in AWARENESS level: Less than medium) Martyrdom Zach’s = 2 hits to kill, only found in churches, monasteries, temples, etc. (You may pickup pistols and knives only from these. Subdivide, 1-4 none, 5 pistol, 6 knife) Quislings = 2 hits kill, if bitten, do NOT roll for infection! If you are hit by a Quisling, you use 2 supplies for 1 week. PD(Police)Zombies = 4 hits kill, You may pick up Pistols and Scatterguns from them Subdivide, 1-3 pistol, 4 none, 5-6 scattergun.
