Just a few hours ago I had a very nice comment on my latest Ible. I replied. My reply was posted. Now, both the comment and my reply have vanished. Between numerous comments not being posted and then, when they ARE actually posted only to disappear.... This is beginning to be so not fun.

I could of sworn there was just a how do you feature forum topic. Kruser said kiteman featured my instructable, so I checked my instructable to say if it says anything about kiteman, and it didn't. So I went back to the forums and it isn't here anymore!

I just noticed that all the Intro text disappeared from https://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-Temperature-Humidity-Network-Monitor/ So it's looking kinda silly with a couple of pictures and jumping right into Hardware Assembly. Is there an easy way to get it back, or do I have to try to recreate it from scratch? Thanks!

Before the last update when I was in the middle of writing an answer I could leave the page to pick up a link or something like that then go back to the page pick "answer" and my answer would still be there. Now the answer is gone. What changed? Is there any other way than creating a new tab or window to do my research and still keep my answer going? Using Firefox.

I am working on my first instructable, and I am having major problems. I downloaded the Instructables app on an iphone, so that I could take pics on there, and I am doing the rest on a mac. I already had done the intro and was half done with the next step. I was taking photos on the phone, and then saved what I had done on the phone to Instructables.com. When I logged in on the computer, all the pics and text for the intro was gone, and the first step had been marked the intro. In preview mode, the first step's title became the ible's name. After I recreated the text from memory, I worked some more and almost had the first step done, and then in almost the same way, it happened again. This time, I could not upload the pictures to the internet, because every time I clicked on the "save to instructibles.com" button, It would say "preparing upload", for a couple seconds, then the screen would go black for a split second, and return to the home/apps screen. I checked on it on the computer a couple minutes later, and it was not saved to the most recent pictures I had just tried to save, but other than that, it was ok. Now, about 5 hrs. Later, I Log on and the 1st step has become the intro, and the intro is gone. Luckly, all that text is still on the phone, so I can read-and-type it back to what it was. The intro pictures are saved onto my mac's desktop, so I haven't lost those, but I will have to recount the pieces on this K'nex instructable. Please help, either tell me what not to do, or maybe I have discovered a bug, but I hope this does not happen again. Also, this is most likely a bug: Whenever I am taking pics on the instructables app and I take more than two, once in a while it will flick to the home/app screen and I have to reopen the app. When I do, those pictures will not be saved on the phone, app, or camera roll.

I was entered in the make it glow contest. First it said it would end the 6th, and then it changed to the 12th and then after that it disappeared completely. It is not on the contests page but i can access it from my account page where it says the contest is closed, however no finalists or winners are shown, only the entries. Do contests sometimes randomly get shut down? I also noticed that the prizes that were originally listed have changed. Thanks

I posted a new instructable ("Modernize a vintage heater") three days ago, and it has never shown up under the "recent" catagory, and is not found when I do a search. I can pull it up, but no one else will know it is there. ?????

Reasonably sure there's something not right at hand here, I happened to notice that I have more burning question patches than I remember and I'm missing a newsletter patch on profile, not sure if that's all but I suspect that burning questions are taking over my whole profile... I happened to noticed this about the time I got a yummy cookie from fungus there...

I was browsing the featured instructables and I noticed that in the little bar below where the title and thumbnail are located the views the instructable received were no longer listed. Instead only what appears to be the number of favorites was shown. I think that is a cool little feature, but why remove the view counter? Couldn't both the number of views and favorites be shown? Personally, I kind of like being able to see how many views an instructable has received as I browse.

I made an instructable for the The Not Really A Forum At All, TNRAFAA, and it disappeared.(It says "This instructable has been removed by author")I published it at roughly the same time I entered an instructable into the horny toad contest, and the only 2 acceptable ones for the contest were the TNRAFAA, and the one I entered.I don't know if those 2 things are related, but anyway.https://www.instructables.com/id/What-I-call-the-The-Not-Really-A-Forum-At-All-or/?comments=all#C3YFU99FJ6H3HVT

I started writing an instructable a hour or so ago, and saved it. I got the message that it had been savd, and got no error messages. I hadn't added any images to it.I just came back to do a bit more on it, and it's gone. No sign of it in my unpublished list.A quick glance through my unpublished list, I see that at least two other unpublished projects without images that I made a brief start on in the last week or two have also disappeared.Personally, I haven't lost much, they were just notes to remind me to actually do the projects, but it could just as easily have been a huge ible I lost. That makes it an important bug that needs fixing before too many people lose too much work.

It's been reported many times, by many people, but the "disappearing post" bug is alive and well. It's happened to me quite a few times today, on individual instructables, forum topics and the answers section. They don't appear later on, or appear only for my eyes, they simply cease to exist as soon as I hit "post". When I have spent some time writing a long post full of relevant, useful links, this is a very, very annoying bug.

I entered my workspace into the workspace contest. I received a confirmation that it entered the contest and it showed up under the point "Recognition" in my profile. Today I checked my profile, and the recognition for the workspace contest is gone. Do the entrys disappear once a contest is closed? Update: I just checked the entries of the contest and couldn't even find my workspace there (I made sure to check all entries). Any idea what could have happened here?

I'm planning a mystery dinner party. There will be a postage stamp on display. I have a way to trigger a lights-out remotely (just by plugging the lamps into a remote-control switch). During the blackout, which will last a few seconds until I can "find the fuse box," the stamp needs to disappear. I could of course just walk over and steal it myself, but I'm looking for other suggestions. Print the stamp with some kind of ink that will vanish if hit with a camera flash? Some sort of motor-and-string attachment that could pull the stamp into a hidden chamber in the display case?

Help, I spent hours writing my latest instructable including a detailed intro, and when I went back to look at it the Intro says Null, whereas before it described why I wrote the instructable, materials, time, skills needed etc. Is there an Instructables person that knows what went wrong? I did not delete the text. I guess from now on I'll download the pdf when I finish a version. thanks for any help, Kathleen

As you can see in the screenshot, I can't see the new instructables posted by the members I'm following anymore. The section is just blank and the only way for me to see the new ones is to click on "view all". It's been this way for the past 2 days I think. I'm using Chrome on Win 7, but I tried to look at it on Firefox too and it shows the same problem.

On the Instructables site the Tech Contest disappeared. Is it closed, or they won't announce finalist and winners? Or will appear when the winners have been announced? I entered in this contest and even if I'm not a winnner I would like to see the best projects. Thanks for your response!

I noticed that everything I've done in HTML has disappeared from all of my Instructables!!! These are several featured and 1st/grand prize winning Instructables that I custom formatted in HTML for best effect. Can you please restore them? Will re-activating my Pro membership automatically restore them? If not, can you please restore it for me from a database backup or something?

You may have seen that Google has a crop-circle theme today, with a hovering UFO. The "l" is missing (even from the name of the image-file). A while ago, an "o" was kidnapped by a very similar UFO. Do the artists at Google know something we don't...? What letter is next?

This is a problem I've been having for a while now. When writing up an Instructable, I typically write all the text, then go back at a later date and add pictures. Several times now, I've added pictures to a step, clicked to the next step, then THE ENTIRE BLOCK OF TEXT IN THE NEXT STEP DISAPPEARS. I do not use all-caps lightly. The text is irretrievable - I have to rewrite it from scratch. Not only is that a huge waste of time for me (since I don't have any time to spare), it also results in an inferior duplicate of what I'd originally written. Details are skipped, ideas forgotten, etc. Chances are I originally wrote that text days or weeks ago, when the information was fresh. Now it's stale. Please, please look into this. I've taken to copying everything into Word as "safe keeping" until the Instructable is published. Computer details: Mac OS X 10.5.9, running Firefox 3.6.12 (though it happened with previous versions of Firefox, too).

This is actually 2 intermittent problems... Disappearing Comments: After typing a comment and then clicking on the "Post Comment" button, the comment does NOT post. Duplicating Comments: This problem happens when typing 2 comments on one page. I'll post comment "A", and then after typing comment "B" and clicking the "Post Comment" button, comment "B" does NOT post, instead comment "A" (from earlier), is appearing in place of comment "B". So it looks like I typed the same comments on a page twice (which I didn't). This doesn't happen all the time. It happens intermittently, and after having spoken to other members, I know its not just me who is experiencing these issues. Now its virtually impossible to show in a screenshot that a comment didn't post, but I was able to take a screenshot to show the duplicating comment issue. You'll see that it looks like I typed the same comment twice, even though I didn't. So I had to delete the second comment and re-type what I had intended to post. Using: Mac OS X, Safari 5.1.4

I can't find the contests who are currently closed but open for voting in the new contests page. ...is it just me? Right now I think there is the Fashion contest only, but I can't find it anywhere. The only way for me to go to the Fashion contest page is going to one of the entries and click on the Vote! button. If I am not the only one who doesn't see it, it's hard for people to vote. This is how it looks to me...

I've noticed that the images and the "I made it" header have disappeared from all of my Instructables where people had posted them in the comments section, the comment itself remains, but no images. I've also checked on I'bles where I posted an "I made it" and those images have gone too, any idea what's going on here? The problem only occurs when I am logged-in, if I view anonymously they appear as expected. The following I'ble is a good example as it contains a few "I made it" comments: instructables.com/id/Enchanted-Rose-Beauty-and-the-Beast UPDATE: This issue now appears to have been resolved, everything is behaving as expected.

I'm in the middle of writing up an Instructable, and twice now have had to completely rewrite steps. The circumstances each time were identical: 1. I added an image to a new step. 2. I added text to the step. 3. I added another image to the step. 4. The text vanished as the new image appeared on the step. I'm using XP and up-to-date FF4. Update: Frequent use of the "save" button doesn't work. I just typed up the last step of my Instructable, hit save, added an image, and the text disappeared again.

When I'm logged in, I can't see the button to mark an 'ible as "Favorite" at the top of the page, but when I'm logged out, it appears! Does anyone have a clue why this happens? I'm using Google Chrome with Adblock Plus. See attached screenshot. Logged out is on the left, logged in is on the right.

Another editor bug. I have been preparing a thirteen-step instructable. While I worked on the images on the introduction & step 2, all the text vanished from step 10, even though I hadn't touched it. When I re-typed step 10 and saved the project, step seven (a long step!) also vanished. @staff who read this, it's the project I mentioned on CT.

Several times over the past few days, I have tried to reply to a particular question on the Answers forum, specifically the question linked here: https://www.instructables.com/answers/Any-decent-good-hot-glue-guns-for-beginners/ I write a comment in the little editor-box-thing. Then when I click the "Make comment" button, and the text of the comment I just wrote disappears. Voop! It's gone! Then my disappeared comment does not become posted to this topic. Where did the text I just wrote go to? Did it go somewhere? Or is really and truly gone from this universe? That is assuming I did not save a copy of it to a clipboard, or text editor first. Yeah. Big mystery, right? I kind of suspect there is something wrong with just this particular topic: https://www.instructables.com/answers/Any-decent-good-hot-glue-guns-for-beginners/ Just ask yourself why an easy question like this, is somehow 4 days old, with zero answers (and zero comments total) so far. Is no one, besides me, trying to comment on, or answer, this easy question? Please feel free to try to post a comment there yourself, just to see what happens. Possibly the topic is activating your filters, because it has a bad word in it: Three letters. Starts with "g". I have heard rumors you all are running some crazy filters to try to protect users here from reading bad words, and perhaps from writing bad words too! Also because you always strongly suspect the problem is with my computer (and maybe it is) I must tell you the browser I am trying to do this with is: Firefox 51.0.1 (32-bit) and that is Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu. and, uh, it looks like I am running it under: Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) I thank you for your attention to this matter, and I applaud your efforts to make Instructables less buggy.

If you had a lot of time on your hands, there was a part that you used to be able to click, to see all of the messages that were written on you, or someone else's Orangeboard. It was located under Followers (Fav's, Patches, Achievements, Following, Followers...) For some reason, I can't take a screenshot of it... About a week ago, this option disappeared. Now, how am I going to be able to see all of the comments that I posted on my orangeboard? I think the maximum is 15 before they start disappearing... More: Also, the amount of comments of forum topics has been limited to ten, which makes it really annoying if you want to reply to a long thread (see here) Speaking of canceled stuff, am I the only one that can't see the keywords/tags that were entered in an Instructable? Is that because of the Makerspace contest? They do show up in forum topics, however...
