Hey, I am addicted to the game Cave Story and I would really like a stuffed version of one of the characters. I suck at sewing, and any help on how I should do this would be awesome. Thanks!

It'd be very much appreciated. So Ive just recently taken up amigurumi and Ive done some basic things like poke balls and mario mushrooms, easy enough. However,I want to move on to makng dolls. In particular I want to make a Naruto doll like the one in the link Ive attached. Im finding it difficult to find a pattern for this exact shape of doll though, and also I think I would like to make it smaller anyway.... would anyone be able to give me any advice on this? Actually if anyone knew of any video tutorials on making this shape doll that'd be even better. Also, regarding the colour change in the body, I know how to do a basic colour change where you would have say a row of red and then you change it to white so that the whole next row is white, but if you look at this doll there's a line of black going vertically up his torso and Im not sure how I would go about this type of colour change? It seems complicated? Like I said I would be sooooo grateful for any help anyone could give... I want to make this for someone special :) Thanks guys :)

So. I'm attempting to make a Squid plush doll for a friend who's leaving for college. This is the first time I have ever attempted something like this and I was wondering how I would go about sewing the seams. Like, would I sew it inside-out and then flip it right-side-in? And is there some preferred way to sew these? Aside from that, I'm having trouble picking a material. It would be a bit large and I expect it to see a lot of use, so I want to stay away from felt. Also, I wanted to give it some character so I was thinking of making it out of polo shirts, but I have no idea if that would be a good material...Please help.

When in Europe, I saw a street vender that stood near his little boom box and had 2 dancing paper dolls next to it. I bought the paper dolls and now need to figure out what he did to his speakers or magnets in his speaker to create this illusion of dancing dolls that can dance next to a boom box. The dolls had magnets on the backs of them, so it had something to do with a magnet inside his boombox. Can you help? Thank you.

This is one of the more unique re-purposed jewelry ideas that I have seen. At first I thought the faces and body parts were photos or maybe paintings. However, the interesting and comical compositions are created using Barbie parts! The Plastic Body Series designed by Margaux Lange is a jewelry line that combines salvaged Barbie doll parts with sterling silver and pigmented resins. You actually HAVE to check out this link; I am so amused by this!

I found this "American Girl"-type bed at Goodwill yesterday. It measures 19 1/2" x 10 3/4" on the outside. It has a canopy that needs curtains. It needs a mattress and bedding. It shouldn't be too hard to make, but I just need help getting started. Any ideas would be appreciated. I did search for doll bed, doll bedding and mattress on here and all I got was a cardboard dollhouse.

I have to finish and furnish a large Queen Anne style dollhouse for a fundraising project for our local hospice. I have a limited budget and a number of volunteers who would like to help. One ideas was to make items to furnish the dollhouse as a craft project to be made during a church retreat. I am looking for ideas and instructions for things that people can help make during a weekend.

I'm at the point of ripping my hair out with this one. Once apon a time I bought used doll and dyed them with RIT dye and got some great colors to use in various projects...(yes, my house is a bit on the creepy side). Lately, the dolls I have been finding, wont take the dye....maybe a new kind of rubber? Anyway, I want dolls that are blue. I painted a few with water based paint and then varnished them...several coats and they look pretty good but some of them flacked off...frustrating. I stripped those and bought some alcohol dyes and added that to varnish and painted them 5 days ago, putting a fan on them...cool color, but the varnish wont dry on the rubber and is now a tacky mess. Any chemistry geeks out there that can figure out a better way to get this "new rubber" to take color ? I am going to use some plastics spray paint as a last resort but I really want them to be durable and not flack or easily scratch...can I varnish over plastics spray paint...will there be another noxious chemical disaster if I spray plastics paint over rubber....help ?

I want to make a set of dancing hula dolls for each of the people in my polynesian dance group. Might scavenge the torsos/legs of used dolls in a used shop, but don't know how they make the shaking hips. Actually, I've never seen one in real life, so no chance to look under the grass skirt, lol. Some sort of spring? And ideas on how to make the hips shake on this little doll? Thanks!!!

I have been working with craft eyes off of etsy (like these ttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=22445960 ) for a while now. But the truth is, no one seems to make the eye size I want. They are all a bit small. Does anyone know how these eyes are made? I thought it might be fun if I made my own. Are there molds I can buy or blanks I can paint ?? I want to make about 20 pairs of these, but really large if possible.

Kid Robot's Dunny doll gets electrified when Dustin Cantrell puts plasma globes in 'em. The rest of the design is suitably space-y and the platforms complete the effect really well. It's a simple mod (like I'm one to complain about that), but it's pulled off well. Link

During my vacation last week, the wife and I were out at a local restaurant that had a little "tourist trap shop" in it, and we stopped in to look around. Man was I surprised to see that Kiteman had been modeling for a stuffed doll they were selling. As soon as I saw it, I just knew I had to "get a picture of it" (it was nearly $50, so buying it was out of the question). I only had my phone with me, so no High def pictures, but I was able to capture him, one half at a time, in two photos I have attached. . . For those NOT familiar with Kiteman, I have linked to a Guide To Kiteman.

Ha, got yer attention with that subject didn't I?But it's true. Check out Margeaux Lange's site for more pictures. These are strangely gorgeous...Clearly she's got the jewelry-making skills to do a top-notch job but I think someone with as much imagination but less metalworking skill could do a reasonable imitation.

When I was a girl, in the 1970's, my Mom found a series of patterns for making Barbie clothes that didn't require sewing. Now I have several little girls around who want lots of Barbie clothes but they can't afford the prices. It would mean a lot to me if I could find these patterns to help them make their own clothes. As I recall there were dresses, pants, tops, etc. The clothing was tied on in various ways and the items were just cut out and ready for Barbie to wear. If you happen to know where I can find these patterns, please let me know as soon as possible. I would also be interested in really simple patterns for Barbie clothes. It needs to be something that a young girl can make with little or no adult assistance.

I've always been a fan of old how to books. They often have tips and techniques you don't find in contemporary books. Sometimes they are just plain strange. Other times they are painfully outdated, like an old Popular Mechanics article I came across that shows you how to improve your toaster by adding asbestos to it. Last weekend I stumbled upon this old doll making book at a thrift store. The entire book shows how to make dolls in a kind of odd folk art style, and would never get printed today. In spite of the fact I don't really have room for more books right now, I couldn't help myself and bought it anyhow.Has anyone else come across any interesting how to books lately, or have favorite classics in their collection?

When I was a youngster I had a mini farm play set. It had a cow, pig, ,chicken, goose, etc..... All were made of string like cotton, not furry string. The animals were not more than 2 inches high, and were life like, not animated like amigurumi. The goose was my fav, and I would like to make one of my own, I can't find mine but I can describe him. He was: About 2 inches high, he had orange feet with wire to form them and an orange beak which was used to put the stuffing down into his body. I don't remember him having wings, but he had a long neck with a little red piece of string around it for a bow.. I absolutely love this toy and if anyone has a pattern to email to me that I could scale down even would be very much appreciated.. I want to make a mini farm set for my new baby neice!! :) I am going to learn to crochet, and try to have it done before she turns 4!!! LOL Someone once told me it may have been an Annies Attic pattern but I haven't found the book yet.. Thank you so much.

I want to change the default music loaded generally in a baby music mobile like the one shown in the picture. Does any one have an idea on how to do this? I remember from my childhood the barbie dolls which used to cry when the soother was removed from the mouth of the doll, That doll used a gramophones like technology to play the sound. I am not sure what type of music recording and playing mechanism is used in these devices. thanks for all your answers in advance.

Jezebel has quite a glowing interview with jessyratfink for the fame of her Barbie Doll Electric Chair Science Fair Project! here at:Our "Barbie Electric Chair" Is A Bust; We Interview The Inventor.I love how the comments filled up with stories of the other ridiculous things people did to their Barbies.

I am not sure where to begin or how make it look real without the use of dolls of figures.
