I think somthing wen't wrong today. I opened my instructables as everyday and, Whoa, a double featured 'ible, that was unexpected. Is it a bug or a so good 'ible that needs double posting?

Well hello! Just noticed a slight bug that y'all at HQ should know about. When I get a private message from HQ, such as the Halloween Postcard message, and the "Being Featured" message, I receive them twice. Usually the doubles are quite some distance apart. I received one double a day after the first one, and the Halloween Postcard message sent its double ten days apart (fearing that I needed to sign up again, I did just in case). Thanks a bunch!

Double comments? I have been noticing this a few times within the last few weeks. Such as today. I got a comment from DJ Radio someone and then about 40 minutes later, I got the exact same comment. I'm pretty sure people are not doing this as a joke. When I'm talking about this, I'm talking about the comment tracker, it doesnt appear twice on the actual ible it is on. Has anyone else seen this happening?

Something a little wierd happened when I took a peep at the contest, some entries had decided to replicate themselves.... I don't know if this is simply an aesthetic problem or a serious issue but it seemed best to be on the safe side... It could also have something to do with some of the new stuff... The disconcerting thing is that the iron man one's aren't beside eachother...

I want to make a 1 watt violet laser, by using a 1 watt 808 nm laser and channeling the laser through a KTP crystal. Judging from my humble knowledge of second harmonic generation, That should create a 1 watt violet laser beam. Correct?

Hi !I tried to reproduce the Double-Slit experiment with a cheap red laser-diode (<1mW).Below are various results obtained from some variations of the experiment ... (with a double slit, with a pinhole, with a thin wire, and with a hair (and also with a single slit who gave almost the same result than with a hair))I also tried to reproduce it with an other source of light (and got electrocuted). But so far, I'm not satisfied by the results I obtained with the light bulb, and I failed with the sun.Do you have some experience to share about this experiment ?Do you have successfully reproduced it with an other source of light than a cheap laser diode ?

Recently i've been having to double click on the post button to get any posts on the Q&A or Forums to post. It's like the site isn't receiving the first click. It's happening across multiple PCs in different locations (ie miles apart). I've cleared internet and java cache with no change. Before this was happening i'd post a comment and the comment would be posted and the text field would still show what i had typed.

Here are some plans for modifying your stairs so that each step can also hold a drawer for extra storage of all your stuff. The things you put inside would have to be of the occasional-to-rare use since these look like a pain to have to deal with on a regular basis. Other concerns are just how well the heat will be kept above or below and if they can be spring loaded so you don't step into an open drawer on the way down the stairs and brain yourself on the landing. Oh yeah, the risers that get removed are often providing structural support for the step above so be aware of that as well. But if you can pull it off safely, it's a neat trick. link

I just double posted on this guide And when I tried to delete one of the comments, I got a little pop up that asked if i was sure I wanted to delete. I clicked OK and then the screen went blank and this was in the address bar: https://www.instructables.com/edit/deleteComment When I found the Guide again my double comment was still there. I tried this again with the same result.

I figure that this is a simple question, but I have a pretty limited knowledge of electronics. Would it be possible to hook two switches up (in parallel) to an LED, so that if either switch was toggled, the light would go on? I'm almost definitely sure it would, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Recently I have massive problems answering questions in the forum. If I press "post" nothing at all happens. After a bit of waiting with still nothing I press "post" again to see a double posting as the result. If there is no double posting I will get "error: backend read error" after about 60 seconds. Operating system is Win7 64, Firefox 31 in use with AdBlock. Checked with Chrome and get the same problem. Edit: tried now for over 30 minutes to post this as the preview only gave me a white page before.

Seeing two white Prius both with carpool stickers isn't that noteable. Seeing two white Prius both with carpool stickers, and with matching dents in their rear passenger side doors is notable. (The dent on the car in the back is difficult to see in the cell-phone camera image, so you'll have to trust me.)

I'm looking for a way to make my car boot open remotely, when my remote only has a lock and open button. I was thinking of making the servo activate when the unlock button is pressed twice in succession Each press sends a 10V-14V current to the solenoids in the car doors, so I've tapped into that I tried using a rc circuit, but it's way too unreliable, even when I have a voltage regulator at the input Does anyone have any other ideas? Something using the 555 ic maybe? [EDIT] I have an idea; detecting if a door is unlocked or not, and it if is, then hitting the unlock button would open the boot *BUT* I need to find a way of making a delay; so when a signal is sent, there is a brief delay before it reaches a relay

Hi, I am in the middle of trying to figure out how to get my Arduino to power a 12V LED on a double flash for use in a model (USS Enterprise NCC 1701). The trouble I have is the double flash only has a delay of 0.7 secs so I think if I used a relay it would not be quick enough to turn on/off? The LED powers OK and runs from the Arduino on it's normal 5V, however it is not bright enough (I am going to hook them upto fibre optic so need the extra brightness). Any ideas how I can do this, presumably putting 12V into the USB connector would fry my Arduino? I have never programmed or used an Arduino before, nor have I done much in the way of electronics for 25yrs, so I am a little rusty, any help would be appreciated. To give you an idea of the speed I require, this is some of the program (within a loop). digitalWrite(7, HIGH); // turn the LED on (HIGH is the voltage level) delay(70); // wait for 0.07 second digitalWrite(7, LOW); // turn the LED off by making the voltage LOW delay(70); // wait for 0.07 second digitalWrite(7, HIGH); // turn the LED on (HIGH is the voltage level) delay(70); // wait for 0.07 second digitalWrite(7, LOW); // turn the LED off by making the voltage LOW delay(3000) // loop after

Here we have a slightly angled pin knex gun. The pin is slightly angled down, making the pin come in the magazine well angled, hitting two bullets instead of one. It uses an internal flexy bullet pusher instead of the external ones. It shoots two bullets 30 feet using two bands. It has a yellow rod magazine that isn't removable. It also uses a unique trigger system. Its comfortable, light weight and is very fun to use. No sights, its just a prototype.

I wanted to know if there are any flight controllers that have separate sensors. I want to use 2 either quad, hex or octo flight controllers with one setup as + and one setup as X to make an octocopter, duodecacopter or hexadecacopter ( 8, 12 and 16 blades respectively ). I want to have a a 6 or 9 DOF IMU connected to 2 separate controllers for larger multicopters. Either that or would anyone know how one might go about designing an arduino controller using either a pwm shield or a TLC5940. Thanks in advance

I recently picked up crocheting, and ran into the issue that I do not know where a HDC or DC stitch starts or ends. I have a pattern I'm working on that has a piece that is mostly HDC from the top to the bottom. Once the part is done, you have to do a single stitch around the entire part. Issue is: I don't know where to pick up to get a stitch on a half double crochet. I know it's a touch confusing, but I don't know how else to explain it. Hopefully it makes enough sense. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, im'Jack, i've found on the web your double mouse mouse project, it's very cool n interesting what u can do with it ..and it make think about a new idea of double mouse: is it possible use 2 mouse on the same pc? is it possible create a program that control 2 mouse (n their respective 2 arrows) at the same time? i guess u probably r askin' why!? :-) the answer is about the pc music making: with the mouse i can control the automation of the channels (changing for example the filter cutoff, the resonance, ecc ecc) with a 2nd mouse i can control two automation at the same time with the precision of the xy axes and the control of the mouse!!! it will be absolutely great if someone create this thing, it will be a new music instrument that will change dramaticly the workflow of the music making, expecially on the automations! i think you can do that !!! Please answer, n keep up with your great works!! bye!!

These stairs provide access to a loft room in a tiny apartment as well as a nifty spot to place loads of old paperbacks and CDs. As someone who is getting threats to start getting rid of books on a near daily basis, I can appreciate this.Another thing that's interesting is that this is the first set of stairs I've seen that has a prescribed way of going up and down them. You're meant to step on the side that sticks out more with the indent allowing the traveling foot to clear it. I think I'd want a handrail if I wanted to prevent any houseguests from plummeting down and slamming into the door at the bottom, though. linksee also:Stairs that double as dressers

So I finished a new speaker I designed, today. It was just then that I thought about the possibility of creating a new design. In the tradition speaker, a coil sits below the magnets, and they are pulled in and out of the coil, creating vibrations (subwoofer).I like this method, and all, but I wanted a bit more! So I got to brainstorming. If you were to put a coil around the magnets, it would still work - it's just have no bass what-so-ever. Well, what if we were to put a coil on the bottom, as usual, but add a second coil on the opposite side, while allowing it to encircle the magnets, but not get in the way. So when the magnets get pulled into the coil, the second coil does not interfere, but still is close enough to the magnets as to create sound. Would this have any adverse effects? Would it ever work? I've included an image so you can see my vision. I may very well just be stupid, but hey, it's an idea. Going to work on it tonight.

First things first, I don't think the title is accurate for this question but anyways, We have frequent power cuts in the place where i live and this is pretty irritating as my modem wont work and i cant use the internet. So I have this backup generator and I got an extension from that to power my modem (The backup generator only powers specific lights). But, the problem i face is that every time the electricity goes, i have to manually remove the plug from the mains and plug it into the generator and vice versa when the electricity returns. So, in a nutshell, i want to make a device which can accept both the mains and generator inputs but output only one of them at any time to the modem. Problems: If the generator switched on as soon as the mains went, it would be fine. But thats not the case. 1) As soon as the power goes, the generator takes about 2 minutes to switch on and then my modem takes about 3 minutes to reboot. 2) When the power returns, the generator stays on for about 2 minutes as well. So if I were to make the device I mentioned earlier, For 5 minutes I would have no internet (generator+modem starting times) and for 2 minutes I would get 440 volts instead of 220 which would practically kill my modem. Finally the device should have, (I think) 2 inputs. 1 output. A small battery or a capacitor(For the 2 min generator lag) A switch to automatically switch form generator to mains. So can anybody give me some ideas? If you didn't understand what i am trying to say, i can gladly rephrase. I thought of using a ups or something like that but i don't know how to provide two inputs and not kill the ups itself. Thanks!!

Is it feasible to create double glazed or triple glazed windows at home where one can not fill-in the special gases between the gaps but just create triple or double layered glass panels. Will it help to create a wall between extreme temp differences? What are the possible alternatives to commercial TG and DG windows? thank you for your answers
