High voltage DC voltage doubler? Answered

Is there any kind of high voltage voltage doubler that uses pulsed DC? (Solid state not anything like a Marx)

How to convert 12v dc to 24v ?

Is there easy way to convert 12v to 24v.Found some circuit diagrams to increase voltage but dont know they are working. I brought a snail horn for my motorbike but it's sound very low. i know my motorbike battery is the reason for this, I need to increase voltage to make my motorbike horn louder. i'm currently testing 555 timer voltage doubler circuit on 123d circuits.  You can simulate it here  555 timer voltage doubler Give me a straight answer for this..

make a high current 12v to 24v converter or doubler?

Hello i need to make a 24v power supply from a 12v source it also has to be able to handle 15 amps of output, any help in making this would be appreciated.  Also series wiring two batteries wont do for me. Thanks to all who answer

Why does a voltage doubler work hard wired, but not on a circuit simulator? Answered

I successfully built a voltage doubler circuit to fire a Xenon flash tube from 120 volt AC power, but when I set up the same circuit in my Protolab 4.0 circuit simulation software the output is less than the input voltage. Does anyone know why?

Can you charge (safely) a 450V Capacitor by using a voltage multiplyer/dobler on mains (240V RMS)? Answered

I'm looking at building a coilgun and wondering if you could charge my caps via a voltage dobler on mains. Also is ther a formula for calculating the output of a voltage multiplyer? Thanks a bunch,                Mike

How much Ampage (aprox) can you get out of a basic voltage doubler? Answered

What valus caps should I use? Is bigger better? (regerding the caps) Can you use electrolitic caps? Will a full-wave multiplier give more current then a half-wave? I'm looking at doubling 12V to aprox.24V for a fairly high ampage aplication (>4A) Can it be done? (I don't have a 1:2 transformer, and am unable to buy one) Thanks so much!!! Every and Any bit of help or advice is greatly apreaciated. Thanks again,                        Mike

Is there an inbuilt voltage doubler/tripler in Modern half-wave DC DST flyback or just a inbuilt diode?

Hi, I have dc half wave modern type DST flyback from a   computer  CRT and put out around 30kv. I wonder: Is there an inbuilt voltage doubler/tripler in  these modern half-wave DC DST flyback or just a inbuilt diode?  I became every confused from very contradiction   info.   Why I ask? I want to know as well as I would want to build a multiplier for the flyback.   I know mine isn't the old AC type but the DST should be a DC  pulsed ...The  flyback I have just  looks like these typoical modern DST ones here: . Your help would be tremendously relieving for me. I have been struggling to  find out  for a while now...  Thanks a lot

how to run a high voltage motor with low voltage Answered

Hi there, I just wanna know how to run a 12v D.C motor using a 9v battery, is it possible by using  voltage and current doubler circuits? please help me, as i want this knowledge for a project of mine

Alkaline Charger

So, I want to try and build a charger for alkaline batteries with an Arduino.  I'll be using it to recharge 9v batteries. What I want to know is: What would the optimum charge current/voltage be?  Should I pulse the charge current? How do I detect the state of charge? How can I get ~1.6v from the arduino to charge an AA? Can I use PWM 5v? And any other useful info you may want to add. I have a ton of parts/shields/etc for arduino as well as components.  LCD's, IC's, LEDs, diodes, resistors, crystals, etc. Would also like to do a battery diagnostic utility to test health, resistance, charge, etc. Can anyone help? EDIT: So I made a quick circuit and sketch to charge an AA battery to 1.6v, using an LM317 adjustable voltage regulator. As os so far, it is working.  Now I need to figure out how to make a voltage doubler. I'm thinking something like 40-50 mA output at 10v. I have an LM324N quad op amp chip as well as one of these. How could I make a doubler circuit?

How much current can I get from an Xbox's USB port? Answered

Additionally, I need to boost the five volts coming out to ten or twelve. I have a schematic I think may work, I believe it's a 1070 voltage booster. I need to get about twelve volts and 0.11 amps, so it looks I need to pull at least 0.264 amps from the USB port. Can I do this? Does anyone know anything about voltage doubles? Thanks a lot for your help.

understanding the basics, what’s more important volts or amps when charging a battery from a generator?

I am getting confused my high school electronics is being tested, i passed by the way ;) . I want to make my own electricity from solar and wind to charge up some batteries. What voltage must my system produce to charge two 12 volt batteries? In my wind generator I envisaged using a stepper motor, with this it is possible to use a voltage doubler circuit. The article I read on stated that if you doubled the volts you halved the amps.   So to get to the point, which is more important volts or amps? And why?. (please)

Generate 22-30 volts from 12

I need to generate a voltage between 22 and 30 (for vfd tubes) from 12 volts (DC). It also has to have a minimum current output of 60mA (really 54, but I like to have some leeway). I really want to use something without an inductor (charge pump?) because I'm also driving nixies in the same area and I already have a lot going on. I would love to have something similar to the ICL7662 (essentially a voltage doubler, only uses a chip, 2 caps, and 2 diodes), but as far as I can tell it can't deliver enough power. I can't find any chip that's what I want... Help?
