A Psychoanalysis of Dr. Seuss

I got real bored in summer school, so I opened up MS Word and wrote this*. Unfortunately, when I cut&paste;, it makes funny characters, so you have to download the virus word doc instead. It should be noted that the inspiration for this work came from an analysis of Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, which I cannot find ATM...

Dr. Who question

Ok, I have had a LOT of difficulties getting to see each episode, but I did finally have the opportunity over the weekend to see the one season end "The End of Time"  episodes. I followed most of it, but towards the end, before he regenerated, he went about "doing things",  speaking to one person, giving a name to Jack,  etc.   Some of them I understood (like the gift to Donna), but many of the others I am baffled by (like the name given to Jack,  and the words spoken to Rose Tyler)....have no reference point for me, can anyone help me out...I probably will never get to see the episodes involving the references and if I do, I will probably have forgotten this conversation by then. A man walks into an electronics store and asks to see their Fax machines.  The salesperson shows him a telephone/copier/fax combo, but he replies:  "I want the Fax Ma'am,   Just the fax.....

DR. WHO Composter

I ran across this image of a 'Dalek' flower pot and noted that it's shape resembled a yard waste composter.  Arthritis now keeps me from many of my crafting hobbies.  So, I was wondering if anyone would like to take crack at it.  http://www.pinterest.com/pin/571535008935102257/

Making some Eggman goggles need advice

I'm working on making my own eggman goggles and I have two twistable caps from my Axe can and some elastic braided band and I seem to have trouble on how to make some using my elastic braiding band without making a slot and then glueing it or fasten it the band. the braided band I have is 3/4" so how I can do this if I could try glue or if I have to a little slot for the band to loop through. I really need some good tips on how to use my braided elastic band for my project. If I have to make a slot so that the band can go through what I can use to make it so it never comes off?.

Dr. Who - Voyage of the Da**ed - dedication

I know this is old news, but it is NEW to me.   I just finished viewing The Voyage of the Damned, episode of Dr. Who and at the end, there was a dedication to Verity Lambert, OBE  (27 November 1935 – 22 November 2007), She is best known as the founding producer of the science fiction series Dr. Who.

Selling custom metal sonic screwdriver on ebay

Hello, Starting November 14, I will auction off three sonic screwdrivers machined out of aluminum (three different auctions). The sonics are made the same way as the two I made in my Dr Who Sonic Screwdriver with Arduino instructables. People have just been messaging me that they do not have the means to create sonic screwdrivers the way the instructables show and if I I can make them one instead. Well as people have asked, I made three and will be up for grabs on Ebay the evening of November 14. Sorry, I only had enough material and time for 3 sonics. I have started the auction. Auction link for one of the sonic screwdrivers is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121218867272?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 thanks.

Dr. Zoidberg of Futurama Costume! :)

(thank you for the direction into the forums! haha) :D :D :DI didn't even know who Zoidberg was until my boyfriend told me that he was going to be HIM for halloween, right after we met haha. SO, I was wondering how he was going to do it and I had a few ideas...I ordered a Lab Coat from AllHeart.com or something like that, and had it embroidered with "Dr. Zoidberg". For the Claws, he bought a hot glue gun and some felt and I was kinda puzzled as to how to make them .. cute/realistic/wearable, just make sure to have good scissors, stack the felt 2 at a time and wisely cut so that the 2 pieces match up. I used elastic to keep them on his wrist and stuffed them with polyester fill, to make them more functional. For the FACE...lol..we lucked out. Tripped over a bart simpson mask at Target and we ended up making the eyes into the shape of goggles, leaving tabs on the side for elastic attachment to hold them onto his head. The "mouth fingers" were a pair of women's gloves. (I cut the thumb off and hand sewed it shut and then took the part and attached it to ITSELF in the back, behind the mask, also stuffed the fingers a little. We then painted his head with some cream makeup from.. a halloween store ($1.50) and it goes a long way. You can cover the elastic with it too, but be careful not to dye your eyes red unless you are going to go as Zoidberg with PINKEYE. lol.As he would say "bwoo bwoo bwoo bwoo bwoo!"

Crazy Dr. Seuss-style House

Check out this NYTimes slideshow of an absolutely awesome house on Long Island!None of the surfaces are level, everything is brightly colored, and you'd have to hang curtains to get any privacy. The architects included poles to help people stay upright when climbing around. I totally want one of these... From the article:The house is off-limits to children, and adults are asked to sign a waiver when they enter. The main concern is the concrete floor, which rises and falls like the surface of a vast, bumpy chocolate chip cookie. But, for Arakawa, 71, an artist who designed the house with his wife, Madeline Gins, the floor is a delight, as well as a proving ground. As he scampered across it with youthful enthusiasm on a Friday evening in March, he compared himself to the first man to walk on the moon. "If Neil Armstrong were here, he would say, "This is even better! Then Ms. Gins, 66, began holding forth about the health benefits of the house, officially called Bioscleave House (Lifespan Extending Villa). Its architecture makes people use their bodies in unexpected ways to maintain equilibrium, and that, she said, will stimulate their immune systems."They ought to build hospitals like this," she said.A reporter, who thinks they should never, ever build hospitals like this, tried to go with the flow.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Has anyone else seen Joss Whedon's newest creation, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog? Joss has a letter on the site explaining how and why it was created, but the gist of it is that Whedon was bored during the writer's strike, so he got some siblings and buddies together to create Dr. Horrible for the Internet. It stars Neil Patrick Harris as the horrible doctor (The Super Villain protaganist), Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer (The Super Hero antagonist), and Felicia Day as Penny (The Love Interest). The Story is about Dr. Horrible's attempt to join The Evil League of Evil and win the heart of Penny while Captain Hammer constantly foils his plans. His story is told through his video blog. It's an amazing movie, and the music (yes, it's a musical, and yes, Nathan can sing!) is great. I highly recommend you check it out!
