Ok yes its me again with the need for more computer help...(I am slowly getting better) Ok I just recently fixed up a windows 98 computer (well 4 of them) And I really need drivers for them. What is the best place to find them? Is it possible to put a big database on a CD ? Can I make a disc of drivers from my windows XP computer ? Where can I download a bunch of them ? EDIT: I have to use my windows xp computer to get the drivers because the computer I am working on needs drivers for the Network Card

LED Driver Help!

So I have four 10 W LED's and I want to run them all together off of a led driver but I'm not sure what type of driver I need to get. My led's specs are. Color: cool white Luminous flux: 750LM Forward voltage: 9-12V DC Color temperature: 6000K-7000K Forward current: 1000mA Power: 10W Lighting angle: 160° So if someone could help me with wiring it would be greatly appreciated. I've worked with little throw away led's and risistors but I wanted to use some sort of led driver, or constant current device on what I'm doing, but I don't know how they work. I'm just trying to get something that will run all the led's and be cheap

LED driver question

Reposting need help Can I power an AC LED driver with DC voltage, from what I understand the driver controls voltage and current. I purchase an LED light 7 x 1watt , the driver was rated 85 - 265 volt ac input but the seller had written 12 volt DC with grease pen across the printed label. This light works fine so I ordered 7 more like it with same ratings from a differant seller and they only work on 115 - 230 volt. Now I need to find proper driver or ship back to Hong Kong( Grrrr) I have seen drivers rated at 12 volt AC, will these work on 12 volt DC voltage? Thank you in advance, Duncan.

Power LED Help

I'm looking to make some home lighting with LEDs, but I'm not sure how to regulate the current properly. I've really only used resistors up until now for led projects. I have a couple ATX pc power supplies, and I've used it to power an ebay led with no problems. I just touched the led directly to the 3.3v line and ground and it lit up fine. What I'm wondering is, is does the psu automatically adjust the current to what you need? Or is there something else I would need to worry about? (I figured it would be okay to power something off the 3.3V line if they were 3.7V leds, say several P4s)

LED driver and voltage help?

Here goes nothing. How everyone can help. Right now i have a 50watt led that can be wired 85-277VAC. It has a led driver that  has all this on it. Vin:85-277VAC Lin:ac0.35A Vout:DC20-36V Lout:1500MA+-3%MA 50Wa/70Wb Now with all that being said it is an hP0050 led driver. Now on 120VAC it pulls .42 amps. Now at 12V this should pull 4.2 amps. What i need to know how to do is use 12-24VDC input and still be able to power the 50 watt led in DC voltage. Anyone help.. I would need to be able to do it cheaply bc my larger lights ahve 4 of the 50 watt leds in it so i would ahve to do this 4 times..

Flyback Driver and Plasma Speaker Driver Question?

I was looking for a good way to drive a flyback, and a circuit to make a Plasma Speaker.  What I came up with, can you use an MC12061 running at 3.8MHz through an IRF540 MOSFET to drive it?  If that works, could you make a summing amplifier with an Op Amp to sum the output of the MC12061 and the Audio (Maybe amplify the audio a bit before the summing amp?) before driving the MOSFET?  Would this work?  Would there be significant problems like heat dissipation from the MOSFET, distorted sound, etc? Thanks

LED Driver Help - 24 Leds, Red, 2.1-2.4 Drop, 700ma?

Hey everyone Been scratching my head for awhile now about this one. I believe I got the wrong drivers so I'm trying to figure out which one to get. I purchased these http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266728353.html And I got this driver to run them http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266728354.html But like I said, I'm running 24 in series not 18 and this drivers output is 680ma not 700ma I was going off the advice of a friend but I think he's wrong and I wasted my money (I can use them later though I'm sure) My question is Which LED Driver would be appropriate for these? If I increase the current (amps) would the wavelength change? It's just a tad lower then I wanted (more curious then anything) Can I alter the driver I got to accomidate the leds to save me money For future reference, how can I figure this out for myself Thanks guys, really hoping to hear back from you!

Help- My Printer is BLIND!

So here is the story- my grandma moved out of our house, and I got an older Windows 2000 computer. I also got a working (at the time) printer (jetprinter...HP...I think) and hooked it up in my room about a month later. The ink was low, so we spent ~30 dollars on new cartriges. So, even then, I hooked it up... hit print, and buzz click whirr...just like it should...and bloop: load paper is displayed on the screen. But wait...it had paper..a bunch! So I took it out, restartyed the computer, turned off (and then on) the printer seperately, and tried to print agian. No worky. Supposedly the printer is still out of paper, even though it is sitting right there! Is it blind?!?!?!Any help would be appreciated. It is a good printer (or was), and the ink in it alone is new and worth $30!

Need help understanding LED drivers

Ok, I'm a newb to electronics and i'm having trouble figuring something out. Inspired by Dan's instructable, I decided to try and build my own headlamp. However, I've run into a problem. I have no idea what LED driver to use. I'm planning on using three of these bulbs, at 3.7v each and a max wattage of 4. I know if I rig them in series, the LED driver needs to be at least 11.1V, but my question is does the wattage of the driver need to be 12? Or should I rig the bulbs in parallel from my power source, and have one of each of these rigged to them individiually? Also, advice on whether it would be preferable to rig them in series or parallel would be great. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

RGB LED Driver/Controller Help?

I officially feel inept.  As I am more of a wordsmith than electrician, this should come as no surprise to me.  Anyway, I have 6 RGB LEDs that I am embedding into a DIY background for my aquarium.  I bought RGB, LED strip lights which came with a controller/driver which I have installed in my canopy.  I thought it would be cool to place 5mm RGB lights encased in siliconed capsules in the caves and recesses of my background.  I have already wired and tested the LEDs underwater and all works as planned...individually.  To my question:  I have enough know how to complete the simple circuit with a cell battery, but I want to control the LED's, inexpensively, with some type of knob control (potentiometer??? I have many from an old classroom) so that I can "color-mix."  My research seemed to indicate arduino as my only option.  I'm not really interested in that.  So?  Any thoughts?  A schematic even a dummy like me can follow with six RGB LEDs?? Thanks for the help.  I will be posting the background build once I am through. Sincerely, Eric

Need help with stepper motor controlling

Hi guys, I'm trying to build a contraption based on 6 stepper motors, wich I need to control via a Raspberry PI. Since I'm no good with electronics and my friends who might help are unavailable this period, I thought I'd ask around here for some advice/help. I know I need drivers/controllers for the motors, but each kind of motor requires a different kind of driver (based on power consumption, on electronic specs etc.) The motors I'm planning to use are: 42BYGHW811 and 28bygh102 / 35BYG103 (choice made based on needed power at smallest possible dimensions), and micro-stepping is something I could really use, because I need as fine a rotation as possible. So, the questions are: 1. can you point me to the right drivers, to buy? or give me some pointers as to what parameters to look for in a driver for these motors? 2. if not, can you design and build one driver capable of controlling all 6 motors, or separate drivers, and able to also achieve micro-stepping, at a decent price? I'm planning to make this project of mine available as a kit for sale, in the future, once we see it working - so bringing aboard a guy who really knows this kind of stuff is something I'm also considering (as of right now, we're 2 guys involved: I'm the designer and the other guy is the mechanical builder - we still need the electronics guy and perhaps the programmer) Any ideas/feedback are more than welcome! Thank you, Eros

3.7v LED driver

Hi guys how are ya doin? :DRecently I'm working on the next project, which is about battery powered bicycle led lamp. So in that case I want to use LED driver. Then I've founded this schematic with CMOS 555 timer, who runs more than 5 LEDs in series. Excited by this new found schematic, I bought the parts & connected them like so. Unfortunately, it turns out, it wont work. :/ At 3.7v they won't even light up, but at 5v they start to shine a little bit. I'm wondering do I need to put different transistor (in my case it was PN2222A - that's the one I had and its equivalent to 2N4401)? Or what the problem with this circuit.I would more than thankful for your help. :D

Stepper motor driver?

Hi! I am trying to find a good h-bridge for a 3 volt stepper motor. Basically my plan is to build a stepper motor controller with an arduino for controlling various functions in a model kit. I have the arduino-kit and the motors. But I need a good reference for a h-bridge, but all i can find are chips rated for much larger drive currents. Also exactly how hot does a hbridge get when under load? I would like to integrate the bridges into the kit, but since it is plastic, I would like to know in advance how hot it gets, and if it gets too hot I'll have to look at another solution.Any help appreciated! PS. If you can please put the hbridge part ID in your answer for easy reference. DS.

7 segment led display driver help?

7 segment sed driver/decoder circuit helpEMAIL FLAGIve looked all over, and have already tried 3 circuits, but none work. They have either the wrong ic, wrong led display, etc. So, I want to make a circuit that, by using a decoder, I can flip 4 dip switches and make the display make certain numbers. I have a 7447 ic, common cathode led display, but I can only either find a circuit with a 7447 and a common anode, or a circuit with a common cathode but a different decoder (a latch/decoder/driver). Here is the first site I tried:http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_6/chpt_7/9.htmlAnd when I finally flip the switches, nothing happens even though I made it exactly as shown. But it has a CMOS, so thats probably a big problem. I also tried this site:http://www.atilim.edu.tr/~hkar/lab5.htmBut it has a common anode, and when I tried it it didnt work. I have exactly ELS321HDB. And I have a power unit that can go from 5 - 18 volts. Can anyone show me how to make this? Im not too good yet at reading circuit diagrams, because I seem to make it way more complex then it should be.

Aquarium LED driver?

Im looking for a schematic that controls 1w leds for my fish tank light? i need the control to be dimmable and hopefully programmable so i can incorporate a sun motion effect and then a moon motion effect! i say hopefully because this will need to be an add on later in the project as id like to have the initial lighting up as quickly as possible! As far as i know so far, the circuit is a basic constant current circuit but  i need a "buck" driver or PWM to enable the dimming by varying the current! so my questions are :- 1. Does anyone know of a simple, reliable and cheap circuit to use? 2. Because of the amount of LED's ill be using im not sure i like the idea of having all the lights in a series configuration because if one fails, thats a lot of lights to test! 3. If i have to use a computer to run the lights id like to be able to make it compatable with the raspberry pi therefore id need a program and mounting software for the pi, so anyone know of one? 4.Right to the power, i dont care what voltage it runs on but id like to only utalize one plug socket if possible, i do have a few power supplies laying about for various things like old laptops and old pc's, so what do i need to power it! i cant think of any more at the moment but you guys know what im trying to achieve so im sure you know what questions i have missed! as i said though, id like to start simple and work up to sun motion control and timers! Thanks in advance for any help anyone is offering!
