Hello! Just a regular question or help passing by. So i have this set of wireless headphones, for two years or so. ( Philips shc8535/10 ) and few months ago, one side of the heaphones stoped working. i jus thear some rambling, and screatching noises. I took them apart (Warranty is obviuosly gone), and found out that the Auxillary plug ( IN ) has it's contacts bent. You could probbably tell by the pictures i'll attach somehow. Sadly, the part doesn't have any index number on it or anything, so i can't just order it 1-2-3. Question is, can i fix it? i mean, i can't easily take it apart, it's plastic, and it's probbably molded in it ( the contacts), i've tried bending them, but all i get is either more or less rambling noise. And other part of the question - order it online, is that possible?

I am trying to make this and it suggests either a water or polymer based adhesive, but I can't find which ones qualify. Alternatively, what adhesive would you suggest I use?

I tried using the "I made it" button on an instructable, and it keeps erroring out with "Oops, something went wrong!". Same keeps happening with trying to comment on the instructable as well. I tried with Chrome and Edge. I also tried commenting on a different instructable, with the same result....These are the instructables I tried:https://www.instructables.com/id/Recreating-an-Ant... (I made it, and comment, with and without photo attached)https://www.instructables.com/id/Giant-Christmas-O... (just tried to comment)

I only want the led to light up on the last row. Another counter-decoder system activates each row. How can I make the dot light up only on the last row by deactivating the counter or decoder for the left-right system. By "deactivating" I mean that I want the decoder to produce all active high signals on the other rows.

Originally this was a way to cheat a video game. But it kills two birds with one stone. I get what I want in the game and I get to learn about electronics/robotics... I want to create a device that will lower a stylus to touch the screen on an ipad, then lower another stylus to touch another part of the screen. Then 6 seconds later repeat. I thought to use 2 timers and 2 DC motors with either string attached to a spool attached to the styluses OR a rack an pinion set up. But I don't know what type of timer I need, or how to make a switch to reverse the direction of the motor... Thanks so much in advance! J

The New York Times states that Esquire had to invest seed money (six figures according to a couple blogs) for E Ink to develop a battery thin enough for a magazine cover...I'm sure everyone who's already cracked one open can tell you, they are powered by standard CR2016 batteries, not some magic million dollar tech...dude, Esquire may have gotten PWNed big time.

I would like to make two key fob sized units that if brought within ~20cm of each other would sound an alarm from one of the units. I've seen a pair of key fob sized RDIF alarm tags that sound an alarm in one if moved more than ~10m apart. They sell for ~$50 US but I need something that accomplishes just the opposite from this device. I want to keep two pets away from each other (one bullies the other) and such a device would I believe accomplish this task. It seems like it should be relatively simple to design but I'm an artist and machinist and know little about electronics. I purchased a book entitled Practical Electronics for Inventors that has given me some knowledge about the basics of transformers, relays, capacitors, resisters, etc. but nothing on IR or RFID transmitters/receivers. Everything I read about RDIF is geared towards one stationary reader (or large hand-held unit) and one or more transmitters. I made one collar with an IR receiver from an R/C car and a small piezo alarm that would sound when I pushed a button on a remote. This works but only if I'm in the same room with the offending animal. I need something that works when I'm away or the animals are upstairs or in another part of the house. They are indoor only pets so the device need not be weather-proof. Anyone with knowledge of such things want to lend me a hand?

I would like help with the type of circuit used in devices that can use either batteries, or a "wall wart"(AC to DC), or possibly even an AC cord if I decide to go that route (like a battery/ AC powered radio). I have a basic knowledge of electronics, but need help with this one. Is it very complicated? I'm not sure of specifics at this point, such as how many and what types of batteries (AA, AAA, 9V) what voltage, etc., just need to know how to build a circuit for this purpose. My project will use a single bright L.E.D, or possibly more, (maybe 3 watts each) and I would like to have the ability to plug it up if someone either doesn't have the batteries, or would just prefer to plug it up at all times. How does the device switch between battery and plug in? Thanks for anyone's time and help! I really do appreciate it.

Hello, I'd like to know if there is a tool finding a small tag transponders that transmit at 433.92 MHz and receive either at 307 kHz? We have a pocket tag reader but it is only good when the tag is within 12inch distance. We have an idea where the tag maybe but finding it is another thing. is there a tool to maybe triangulate the signal and locate that tag that is missing? Thank you for your help!

How is the circuit built that would allow a device to be operated by either a power pack ("wall wart") or through batteries. Like in so many toys it would be either/ or. It would automatically switch between one or the other, like, say you're out of batteries and still need this device to work, you can find either the power pack, or even direct ac. I have a radio for example, which I'm sure is like so many other devices of this nature, that can be plugged in (120 volt ac), or will work on the batteries. As soon as I unplug, it automatically switches to the batteries. Is there a circuit internally that changes the 120 volt ac to "wall wart" / dc voltage? Does anyone have a schematic for such a circuit. I don't have any specifics, other than the batteries being maybe 4 D cell batteries at 1.5 volts each (6 v). Thank you.

I was reading The Lord of The Rings, The Fellowship of The Ring (yeh, the first one).. Cause I've seen the movies, and have had the books for years, yet haven't read them. So I was reading, and the book came to describing the town Bree.. & I saw "there was a deep dike, with a thick hedge on the inner side." Anyone know what dike means (sorry, I can't help but feel awkward when saying/typing that word -_--)..? I just assumed it was some kind've trench, but is that correct? And I know there's something to do with Lava/Volcanoes/etc.. But I don't really think that would apply in this circumstance..

I have 2 instructables about my lungfish hydroponics concept, one video and one step by step. I used a screenshot from the video to start both because I though it would be easy to change it. but now, even though it is no longer in the start page of the step by step, it is still what everybody sees when searching instructables! (And it is a crappy image!) I have a much better image to introduce it and have even deleted that old image from the instructable but it still shows as the start point for the step by step. That is very annoying. What can I do? Either of the below images help explain what is going on, even if the user never looks at my instructable. So I much prefer if one of those is seen by the ordinary man in the street. Thanks Brian (Kiteman told me to repost here)

Greetings, What I am interested in is a ‘continuous heart pulse monitor’ so that I can plug that into (possibly) an arduino to drive a EECP machine. EECP machines run around $30k. So I’ll have to jigger up one myself. Usually I program in HotBasic. I am now learning ‘C’ programming language, via “Arduino in action” eBook, and sparkfun arduino Uno kit. I could sure use some help, like: Should I just buy a ‘chest strap heart rate monitor’, (Polar, or Motorola, or what)? Are there any units out there that can plug directly into a usb? Or do I need to get into wireless or bluetooth? Is a chest strap monitor more accurate than a finger or ear monitor. Should I be connecting to a laptop vs arduino? As you can see I am just beginning. Any help you can give me will surely be appreciated. Thanks for your help...Vernon

I have a 2-channel Marshall footswitch that I want to mod to mimic their PED802 model with on/off LEDs on it. Scoured many forums for schematics or diagrams or photos, but nothing so straightforward out there. I believe it does not require a battery to power them as it mimics the light on the amp front, but my electronics knowledge isn't so good. Anyone have a photograph of something similar? I think I need two LEDs, two resistors and a couple bits of wire, but that's all I can glean. Thanks.
