Hi people! As you may have (hopefully) noticed, I haven't been around as much. Well, I've been swamped lately in between some family sickness, internet troubles, my laptop going poof, and Swine Flu hitting us over here, as well as an exaggerated wave of panic (we tend to have at least triple the panic in any other place!), I haven't been able to use the computer much.AND I HAVE MISSED YOU PEOPLE!!I just wanna catch up for a bit. What have I missed? Who's gotten famous? What did Kiteman do now? Whats the latest KNEX feud? (like I really care...) and most importantly, how has Pro been working for the site so far? Please update me, I wanna be up to speed again and start building.I hate myself, I have not managed to make anything lately. On the plus side, I've been writing a lot. I have so far: 6 anime concepts in the works, 2 screenplays in the works, and 6 sci-fi concepts.I have blogs about these, so my little internet time has been spent working on these.

UPDATE! I FIXED THE VIDEO. SORRY!!!! The new link has the video I originally tried to link to. SORRY!The U.S. Supreme Court recently passed a 5-4 ruling over turning D.C.'s handgun ban and delivered their interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.I've been waiting to link to this for a long time! Family Guy is awesome. The link takes you to a clip from Family Guy that expresses my view on the 2nd Amendment.NEW, Not bad LINK

Hi, I am currently 15 years old and live in Warsaw, Poland. You see, in my family we never sticked to the "Everyone gives presents to everyone" scheme. My parents would get us presents, as well as give them to each other. I want to change it this year, since i feel like a total jerk this way (receiving gifts and not giving any) Overall: I need to get a present for my father, mother and brother, whose details will follow. I don't want the overall cost of the gifts to surpass 100PLN (around $35?), nor for them to be the cheap "glue some felt to some cardboard and write some nice sentences" DIY christmas gifts. I would like them to be original, maybe just a creative, slightly changed everyday object. They should not be consumable (cookies, bath salts etc.), they should be useful but nice (no coasters or stuff like that) They can not require any help, since they have to be a surprise to my family. I would like them to be preparable in my bedroom, without use of any complicated tools (including sewing machines and glue pistols). Also, no photo albums or such. Father: My dad is a business-ish person interested in a variety of subjects, like chess, computers, programming, engineering, books, movies and all that stuff. He works a lot, uses an LG Viewty Snap, drives a Ford Mondeo, occasionally wears glasses. I would like his gift to be very practical and elegant, something he could take in his pocket and maybe use throughout the day (A personalised business card holder, maybe?) Mother: My mom is the head of a small internet newspaper centered about building, ways of saving energy, construction and such. She spends most of her day at home. She likes knitting, sewing, and would surely love a simple gift that took some effort to make (some creative, practical thing to hang on the fridge? A hand-sewn pouch, stuffed animal or something?) or that makes the flat nicer (maybe a blanket?) Brother: My brother is 18 years old, he studies sound directing at Warsaws' Music University. He's a lazy and messy person who plays the piano and performs at a small band on keyboard. A very artistic guy, his bedroom is full of synthesisers, cables, wires. He probably will not appreciate any gift, so be sure to give me some more suggestions - i have no idea what he might like. His gift should be minimalistic and creative - it does not need to be very useful. Oh well, i kinda wrote too much up here. If it was too long for you to read, i need a christmas gift idea for: My dad (businessman) My mom (pretty much a housewife) My 18yo brother (who studies Sound Directing) The added price of the three gifts should not go over $35, they can't be consumable, they need to be simple enough to be done inside my bedroom so it's a surprise. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, i will give any information needed for your ideas :)

Hi Guys Everyone on this site is so fantastic at making stuff I wondered if one of you might be able to help me to make a Muppets Animal Costume for my friend. I'm thinking of glueing 2 pieces of foam together (will sort of look like Stewie family guys head) as the base then cutting a hole out for the mouth. Ping pong balls for the eyes and some fake fur. I'm going to use a black mesh/netting for the inside of the mouth so you can't see my friend inside the costume/ What do you think? Anyone got any ideas that would work better? If anyone could do an instrucauble for this I will be your bestest friend. Thanks everyone PS: The party is at the end of November, so I guess I should be making it already!

Is offset paper ok? 2. What kind of printer to get? 3. Is my under $100 laser printer handle the job? 4. If other paper is to be used, can they be printed from home? I really want to do this from home, will really appreciate your help. I plan to do more small time publishing from home in the future if this pans out.so all advice and suggestions are appreciated.

Years ago I saw a documentary about an African country which most villages and towns use bottled gas to cook. One guy had made a stove from an empty gas container that split water, using a car battery, into a usable flammable gas. It was very basic; the electrodes were nails and the amount of electricity it used was minute, (shown by a very dim bulb in part of the circuit); it worked very well, just like a normal gas stove. The guy had been kidnapped three times and his family threatened by the people who make their living from selling gas. Here was Trevor Baylis, (The man who, in 1991, saw a programme about the spread of Aids in Africa and set about developing the wind-up radio), with the guy using the stove to make a meal. Trevor Baylis was going to take this project on and allow everyone to have a very cheap and eco -friendly cooking fuel. I can't seem to find any info on it using Google....So my question is: Did this ever happen? Thank you.

Hey guys. My dad was telling me about making this custom coffee table, with all family photos on top. Now I think thats kinda lame, I want something cooler, Pokemon cards. I don't care the condition of the actual table, it's all about the top of it. Any advice on doing it? I was thinking you could just arrange the cards, then put a piece of glass on top. Or, if there was some way you could glue them down, then use a special sort of lacquer? Would that ruin the cards? Any advice would be appreciated :)

Your support for my family has been so kind, and the community you've created has kept me sane through these past few years when life was so busy I could barely think straight. Ok, I answered it myself but I looked long and hard so hear is one option for connecting a condenser mic to a pc. This is 20 year old microphone that shipped with my family's Apple LC in 1992. The mic works well with one of my laptops audio card... Not sure what the Zenner diode value is but its probably pretty small. I measured the voltage across the mic + to ground and it was 3.5volts. I saw another guy that only found a diode on his condenser mic so maybe newer audio cards can work without all the extra parts...

Hi guys, I'm Anna, a college sophomore and I've always loved crafting. I could get into almost anything, sewing, ceramics, woodworking, drawing, 3-d art, cooking, etc. Anything where I get to use my hands. I come from a family that isn't that well off and have always thought that art and crafts would come second in my life, something that I'd do during my pass time. And maybe after I retire and have saved up enough money, I could open a craft store or a coffee shop filled with books and crafts - some combination of all the things I love. I'm a psychology and neuroscience major and plan to probably get a PhD and work at a hospital or at a research university. I love people. I think we're capable of so much.. I might just become a counselor - I don't know. This has been my plan for a while but sometimes - or most of the time- all I find myself is dreaming about making things. I'm just so afraid that it isn't something that I can depend on. I'm not guaranteed safety and stability. So I'm wondering, What are you guys doing with your life right now? Have you had a similar dilemma? Do you do arts and crafts just whenever you have free time? Do you do it for a living? Suggestions?? Thanks guys! Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone. As the title said, you could win a patch. Simply by typing a word. There is only 1 patch up for grabs. You're thinking, oh thats simple, ill just write in any random word. But no... Not just any word. A word that is hidden, in this paragraph below. Its rather hard to find. Can you find it? : One day i was walking home from the pub when i tripped up over a loose paving slab. I had really hurt my knee and it was all cut and bruised. I had to call for someone to help, but there was no one around. I reached into my pocket and called a number on my cellphone. I dialed the number 3146134, this was the number of my family doctor. Hes a really nice guy. He answered the phone with a cheery voice, before slamming it on the table and breaking off the call. I weakly stood up and limped home, but before i coukd get there, i got hit by a car. THE END. I guess you are all wondering what the hidden word is. Well I told you before that it was really hard to figure out. So here is the answer: The family doctor's number was 3146134. Each number corresponded to a letter somewhere in the paragraph. The first number was 31. If you count 31 letters into the paragraph, it is the letter 'B'. The second number was 46. Count the letters and you end up with the letter 'O'. The third number was 13, this was the letter 'L'. And the only number left was number 4, which was a letter 'D'. The special word was 'BOLD'. Yep, bold, that was the hidden word. Now do go flaming me by saying that was too hard, because if you thought about it for a while, you'dve figured it out. Unlucky guys, but i will do another contest to win another patch. STAY TUNED.

Well, as not very many of you, my family owns a sailboat - a one man racing sailboat called a Laser. I just thought I'd show it to you guys. Its a blast to ride, you can go very fast, all at no cost to the environment! Hope you enjoy it. IaC 1: Rocking it pretty fast. The boom smashing through the water is slowing me down a bit though. 2: I got caught in irons on a bad tack here, the wind was really going too. 3: Dry roll time! When the boat flips, you can hop over the side and stand on the daggarboard to right it. f you do it right, you wont even get wet. 4: Cruising on a broad reach. Good times!

Hey guys, i just wanted to share this quick recipe with you knexers, since your all so close to me, this is a family secret, so it does not leave this forum category, thankyou. Here we go. Ingredients: 1/2 ts salt 1/2 cup sugar 1 Shadowman39 1oz butter 3 ts chocolate powder 2 eggs So, get those ingredients, and now lets get cooking! First, crack 2 eggs into a bowl, and whisk until smooth. Next add in 1/2 ts of salt and mix with the eggs. Now take 1 Shadowman39 and slowly peel the skin and wash thoroughly. Add the Shadowman39 into the bowl with the eggs and salt, then mix a little more, carry on mixing until it has a smooth texture. After that, get you 3ts of chocolate power and add them one by one, while also adding small amount of the butter. Now all of your ingredients have been put together, mix them all up for around 2-3 minutes until thick and creamy. Next, get some cake cases and lay them evenly apart on a baking tray. Now spoon the cake mixture out of the bowl and into each cake case. Pop them in the oven at 270 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes. When you think then are about done, take one cake and carefully poke a knife into the top, just to check if they are firm. Congrats, you have just made your own noobcakes!!! These noobcakes are great to share with your family and friends, as they are delicious. The butter combined with the eggs gives for the nice smooth texture, as the Shadowman39 gives it that wonderfully pleasant aftertaste. Thanks for taking your time to read my personal family recipe, leave your feedback below, and i wish you years of happy noobcake making. Thankyou.

Hey guys. My family just began work on a farm we bought two years ago, and soon I'll move into a new house there. The property has a huge barn (not an animal barn) that served as the central building for an old cowboy camp and a vacation home. It's cool to me because it was built by one man over sixty years ago using power line posts, some lumber, and good, old-fashioned DIY ingenuity. It's survived several floods from the river that flows only a hundred yards from it and building code since. Now, though, it doesn't serve much purpose other than sheltering a tractor built 63 years ago and providing a home for mice and birds. The place is also full of the previous owner's junk that's strewn about. As the work continues, I hope to bring the building back into glory as a very useful workshop to build many great projects that I never could inside my family's one-car garage. Storage is also an extreme necessity in the barn, and I'll need lots of it in a minimal amount of space. I plan on using my workshop for metalwork, electronics, woodworking, and mechanics. What is yours used for? What kind of solutions have you made in your work spaces and storage areas? What is interesting about them? Please comment; I'm sure we'd all like to hear your stories. -Update: The barn now has a new roof and concrete floor.

Hey guys, i would really like to have an instruction on how to install and customize a buzzing door opener. i´m kinda a lazy person and i want others to respect my privacy. My family is constantly rushing into my room in the most...lets say awkward situations :D I want the door to my room just to open from the inside or from the outside when pushing the open button. On should be near my pc and one should be near my bed. This would work perfectly if i get one of this buzzing door openers which are used to open the main door to the house. But i dont wanna replace my hole door. Just the metal part where the lock is. Also it would be neat if the openers where wireless. And the lock should work like a normal lock: I put in the key and i come in from the outside like a normal door =) Any one brave enough to take this challenge?

Hey guys. I'm paying my way through college and I'm trying to find a way to make a buck. I'm looking into making scented candles and I'm hoping i can get some answers. 1. How much would it cost to make one candle? (medium sized? 6 inches) 2. How much profit can I expect per candle? 3. Is it in demand enough to make a decent profit? I'll be selling small scale like craft shows and family friends. 4. How are fragrances made? I ask because I want to try some unusual scents. I've got ideas along the lines of freshly mowed grass, bacon, and apple pie. There's some far stranger ones but I need to know if this is even possible. How would i go about making these fragrances. 5. Where can I buy supplies cheaply? Obviously a higher margin for profit is better so I'd like to spend very little. Thanks in advance. Any other tips are helpful.

I have a problem with my girlfriend's dad. I dont know how to fix it......everytime her dad sees me, he just yells at me......today he saw me and her together and he started beating me.....I didn't do any self defense as i know alot about respects. I am 20, and she is 17 turning 18 in couple months....It got to a point that i really hate her dad but can't do anything about it. My girlfriend also doesn't know what to do because her dad really loves her and everytime after he yells/beat ME, he just apologizes to her but obviously my girlfriend is starting to hate him more as each day goes by......I don't want this to happen because i think family is always important so i am trying to find solutions to fix this at any cost! Even getting stab by him as he threatened me today before i left. I just don't get the problem at all. Her sister who is 19 year old can date freely with this other guy but her dad just HATES me. I look and AM a very nice guy....only thing is can think of is i am a whitewashed asian and her dad has a very traditional asian mind. Whereas her sister's boyfriend is an asian that can speak fluent chinese

Okay, I've found users of this site to be some of the most industrious and handy people on the 'nets. So hear my plea: long story short, I dumped a significant amount of black tea (with cream) right into the vent of my Western Digital 1 TB external hard drive (luckily I'd unplugged it about 2 minutes ago). I'd just finished putting EVERYTHING that is mine and digital onto this, and a significant portion of other copies got deleted. Show me please your instructability on how to clean this confounded thing! I'm all ears... PS I'm a new member and if I get help with this I will post (tonight) my first instructable on a GUARANTEED heart-melting confection for Valentine's that's been in my family for years and years (and is delightfully simple to make). Thanks for your time -B **EDIT** Thanks for the responses guys, "wipe it off" is sage advice indeed. I was thinking though of somehting like an alcohol/water solution to rinse the affected area once I get home to my tools and see what went down. Thoughts?

Alright, so I know that I'm just 14, but hey! I don't think it's too early to think about college.Based on what I enjoy doing, I figure that my best bet would be to go into mechanical engineering. I thought about electrical and chemical engineering, but I am more of a hands-on kind of guy.Thing is, I want to go to a college that is in the SEC (Southeastern Conference). One, because I'd rather stay down South, and two, I'd like to stay fairly close to my family (i.e., not up North/out West).UA (Alabama) is the only one that offers courses in mechanical engineering. I'm not sure about other colleges, but because I am out-of-state, my education costs nearly $11,000 more than a resident of the state.Geez! I don't come from a rich family, so that seems a bit, extravagant. Now, I have and and have always had straight A's. I'm in the "advanced" classes, blah, blah, I participate in the Academic Bowl, blah, blah, ok. I'm fairly educated, so I'm sure a scholarship will come my way.In Georgia, we have the HOPE Scholarship, which will help fund students with high grades if they go to a Georgia college.I have yet to find a college in Georgia that offers courses in mechanical engineering. Now, Georgia Tech may have one, but I cannot go there, as they are a fierce rival of UGA.After writing all of this, I don't actually remember my purpose of posting this here, but will continue.Oh, that's right: Does anyone know of some scholarships that would fund out-of-state students?Any other advice, of any kind, would be appreciated.Didn't know picking a college would be this hard.P.S. What exactly is your job called, Eric? (or any of the iBles staff)

hello everybody with the weather getting warmer down here in the south eastern U.S. my friend has invited me to go camping/kayaking with him and his family i have been kayaking with my friend's family before and had a great time but when we would race kayaks the girls (my friends sister and her friend) would always beat us (the guys) unmercifully mainly because the girls had the 2 person kayak and therefore more people power now this time i need a secret weapon and while i was thinking along the lines of torpedoes and surface to surface missiles i eventually ruled them out due to the danger aspect but then i got the idea i was looking for you see the objective is to get from point A to point B before the opposition not destroy the opposition then get from point A to point B at my own pace so i decided i would need to be able to travel at a faster rate than the girls so what i am thinking of is a sail now here is the challenge i am unable to make any modifications what so ever to the actual kayak so strapping a outboard motor on the kayak is out this leaves me with the idea of making a sail out of a few tent poles and a tarp but since i do not know much about kayaks i need to know these things 1. how can the sail be anchored to the kayak without damaging or permanently altering the kayak in anyway 2. any ideas on how i can steer i have a few but i would like to hear yours also i have looked at the project sailyak by zigzagchris https://www.instructables.com/id/Project-SailYak/ and while this is helpful i need more specifics as mentioned above thank you, fidgety2

OK guys- time for your inner Linux zealot to come out!My PC now has two hard disks. One has working installations of XP x64 (with all my games) and Ubuntu 8.04 (with all my media stuff) which I want to leave alone. The other is a blank canvas now I've taken all my files off it, and given I have one disk with my primary OSs on it I'm thinking of chopping the empty one into a number of smaller partitions so I can have a multitude of OSs to choose from. I already know XP (32 bit) and Puppy Linux are going on to it, but I probably don't need another Ubuntu so the rest are up for grabs. Which other distros do people recommend?Criteria: they must:- be free (as in beer, not overly bothered about as in speech)- fit into a roughly 20GB partition (with an external /share for big files)- not mess with my GRUB. I'm primarily thinking of the non-Debian family major distros, but relative unknowns are welcome.Related question- I've got used to installing dual boot XP/Linux, you just install Linux second and GRUB plays nicely with XP, but does anyone have experience dual-booting the Windows 7 Beta? Does its fancy-pants new bootloader have issues that preclude easy dual-boot installs?

A select few of you who stalk me visit my persona often may have noticed that I changed my location. Well, the reason for that is that my family is on the move again. When I joined Instructables in 4th Quarter 2006, I lived in Texas. Soon after that, we moved to Georgia and now we're off to Florida, from whence I hail. The house we'll be moving into is by far the greatest I've yet to live on. It's situated on a canal that leads out to the Atlantic, it has a pool, two stories, a second master bedroom that I get to share with my brother, and it just looks really cool. Built in the 60's, this house has some serious personality. With every move comes a new school. Mom wants to send me to a Catholic school again (ugh). At least this time it's co-ed, but it still doesn't have a marching band, which is the #1 reason why I prefer a public education.Well, guys, don't freak out if I go MIA over the next few weeks; moving's a contact sport and there's a lot involved if you're not familiar with the process (Eric knows what I mean, don't you? ;-) Dad wants to leave by Friday, and we just starting packing yesterday, so wish us luck. See you all later!

OK, Here are the rough results on the questions I asked recently in the forum "Looking for a Pattern Here". Some of the answers were open for interpretation, so there is a margin for error here. THere were 19 folks who helped me out so far, and here's what I came up with. Nothing scientific by the way, just interesting. 1. Grades: 12 had consistently good grades (B or higher), 3 had a C average, and 4 were the whole spectrum (A-F). NOthing surprising there to me. 2. Handedness: Only 3 lefties! 16 Righties, with a couple of those being almost ambidextrous. I know statistically, that 3 lefties is high (compared to average), but I just expected more on this site. 3.Reading Materials: This one was hard to quantify, and there were a lot who read tech stuff, but there were a surprising number of novel-readers (8-9), and one (mainly) comics reader! (Somehow I still respect you Bumpus!) 4. Language: 8 were truly Bi-lingual or Multi-lingual, of the remaining 11, about half had some "foreign language" awareness/experience. 5. Home Life: I was pleasantly surpised to see that overwhelmingly most (16)of the respondents grew up in 2-parent homes. With the current divorce rate, I expected very different numbers. Of the other 3, there were diverse family situations. 6. Optimist/Pessimist: 11 optimists, 6 pessimists, 2 mixed. I genuinely expected more pessimists (You guys are so young!). 7. Religious/Spiritual vs. Agnostic/Irreligious: 8 were religious or spiritual, 9 were not religious, 2 were non- categorizable (sp?). 8. Priorities: Unquantifiable, but there were a lot who's priorities centered around family. The other few leaned towards personal success/enjoyment. 9.Succes of Projects: 10 were some variety of procrastination, 3 were consistent successes, 2 tended to quit before finishing, and the other 4 were some (hard to classify) mixture of the others. What do you think? What does this all mean? I'll be trying to cross-reference the stats to see actual patterns or correlations in the above traits.

Hey guys, this is my first time on the forum section of the instructables! Not a bad place to be, really. So here's the thing. I have this old scooter that I've had for as long as I can remember. It was the very first thing I rode that was powered by a motor and my father bought it for me so I could get ready for my first motorcycle (Which was sadly stolen about a year ago :/). Last year, my dad went back to our hometown to visit family and he brought it back with him, but there was one problem. We have no gas tank for it. I have NO idea where it could have gone or why it wasn't brought back. Oh well though. I have this scooter, the same as Wesley666 does. I'm having trouble finding the gas tank on my own. Notice that there is a gas tank that I took from a weed eater just to try it out. But I'm not sure it would work out very well. I mean, look at the size comparison between the two? I also want to keep original parts on this nostalgic machine. Sorry if the pictures are oriented weird, but these are taken with my phone. You can see from the thread posted above there is a picture that shows a blurry close up to the gas tank and I can't really tell what it says. "Something EBR Motor". Long story short I need to get that gas tank, maybe even the gas line that comes with it, in order to get this thing working again. Does anyone know of the brand name of the scooter so I could get the original parts I need?

I hate sports on TV. In math class today, we were talking about how some major league baseball player who gets paid at least 1 Million dollars per year has a batting average of .235, which is pretty lame. Why the heck do people pay tickets or watch TV just to see average people play baseball or basketball or any sport actually? In that case, why don't people pay to watch kids play basketball in the gym or to watch adults play softball in their free time? It's the same thing, the only thing that the people who play sports in their spare time don't have is a huge corporation backing them up and putting their faces on TV. Secondly, it gets in the way of programs I want to watch. I turn on the TV at the advertised time to watch Family Guy, which was at 7:00, and instead I get to watch a baseball game with sub-par action. I don't really care about who won what game, and I don't see how this is any different from sports games that adults play out of their spare time. To make it worse, kids at school just talk and talk and talk about the sports games. Shut the hell up people! I don't care about the games, I don't care who won, I don't care about that pass or slam dunk, stop wasting my time. Boycott sports. Don't buy tickets, don't watch games, and DON'T BUY ANY TEAM JERSEYS THAT STORES HAPPEN TO SELL!

Wassup guys? Some of you may remember me, some of you may not. I was originally Superjustin18, but decided to change to Flumpkinz... cuz it's funny sounding! Whats NEW? Well, I've matured a lot... and I'm 13 now. That's right, all this time I've been to young for an account. But now I'm old enough, so no more guilt haha. My music taste has grown. Instead of being based on Punk and Metal, I now like Folk, Deathcore, and so many different extents of music. Another thing Is that now I actually have friends (which is the reason I haven't been on recently lol. Going back to old times, heres an oldy for Instructables. But since it's been SOOO long since I've been on, I just thought I'd ask. What are you're favorite bands? Or, if you want just post bands you listen to. Now, last time I did one of these, my heaviest band on there was Scar Symmetry. Now my heaviest is probably the Faceless. I'll post videos below. To answer my own question The Faceless - Prison Born http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRF0cPnw0A0 Avenged Sevenfold - Welcome to the Family http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-iOKHjy3sQ Disturbed - The Infection http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h23hxsG6BM Gaelic Storm - Johnny Tarr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlqdqNGhJaA Ughh, too much more haha. Bands like Diecast, War of Ages, etc.

Hi guys.i want to submit an innovative project to the school science fair.but i think i have the idea but don't have much time to think about it cause exams are coming... So here is my idea; A robot rover that can be used for spying or can be used to explore areas where human interaction is not possible.like war fields etc.. so,most of my school mates put forward some ideas to make them manually controlled. But i want to control it in a different manner.Because judges always notice the area that can be covered by the controlling Radio frequency or IR . So i have an idea that, It should be controlled via an internet page or whatever suitable.Because it must be used wherever the internet is available. Like from one state to the other state or etc. i.e. situations like the controller and the robot is in different states or districts. also i want to add some cameras and voice recorders in it.So the photos and sounds from the rover should be automatically uploaded to a particular web host (that i want to create my self) and then the controller can download it whenever he/she wants. Guys this is my final year and my dream project..I still Hope there will be some way N.B: I PREFER ARDUINO AS THE MAIN BRAIN / MICRO-CONTROLLER Because i am familiar with that only...so TO ALL MEMBERS OF INSTRUCTABLES FAMILY....I REQUEST SOME ADVICE AND HELPS I NEED HELP FOR THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE CONTROLLING..AND THE CODES FOR IT (EXAMPLES ARE INEVITABLE PLEASE)

We want to be together we dont care what country it is in but we would prefer some where in Europe cause he can live anywhere there but what about me is there a place in Europe that me and my son can go and not have to have a visa, we have been through so much already all we want to do is be together and be married , be a family, can any one help?

Instructables and Maker Faire received some nice coverage from the New York Times article This, From That."This is a real geek fest," says Professor Schalk, a high-energy physicist in both senses of the phrase."If I was a kid, I'd wet my pants here," he joked. Some 65,000 people came to see the sprawling display of inventiveness and potentially hazardous fun. Many of them read Make magazine and its sister publication, Craft, and go to Web sites like Instructables.com that encourage people to take on projects and share what they learn. (Recent online projects have shown people how to convert a novelty French-fry telephone into a carrying case for an iPod; how to make a computer-powered coffee warmer from an old Intel Pentium chip plugged into a P.C.'s U.S.B. port; and how parents and children can build a small vibrating robot together.)By far, my favorite quote from the piece:"It's deeply American," said Xeni Jardin, an editor of BoingBoing. As for the family-friendly setting, she said, "It's like Burning Man without all the icky hippie elements, without the pants-free guy on a bike."And more:Roxanne Stafford, a designer who visited the Faire without knowing much about it, said she was "a little overwhelmed" by the size, the variety and the noise. She added, however, that she found an underlying message in it all. With the ghastly images from the Iraq war and the uses of technology that usually make the news, it is easy to conclude that people simply make things and use technology "to destroy one another," she said."Things like Maker Faire give people hope," she said. "Creativity is the best expression of humanity."More press about Instructables here.

Hi folks, I came across a similar question on this site, but the answers were for a different state so I hope this is ok. Me, my mom and a couple others (and pets) have been in a motel for nearly a month and it's way too expensive (running over the $5000 a month mark and this is as cheap as it comes for all of us). 3 rooms. Contemplating on living in a tent, preferably in the wilds somewhere here in the high desert (Hesperia or Apple Valley CA). Some of us may go to the camp grounds (narrows), but those of us with the kitty cats prefer to go out into the desert if possible. Mind you, this is only temporary (as long as we can hold out). If you guys out there know of a good spot that's unclaimed (and legal?? is there such a thing?) please let me know :) Wilds would be free, however we still have access to toiletry/shower through friends. Long story short, the family was scammed by a realty company and now we're out of our house. To stay afloat, we tried AmericanHomes4Rent to get a temporary rental, but that didn't work out, so we're in the hotel. In fact, a house was readily available for us to rent, application OKd, but at the last second the above company said that there was a glitch in their system and the house was not available for rent. (BS.. we went to see the place, rental sign, lock box etc.. RENTLY has a let yourself in service which we used to check it out). This has to be voodoo or something... I dunno... bad luck one thing after another. The plan is to save enough money to convince one of these rental companies to let us in (3 or 4 months rent in advance). That worked for several folks I know, so hope to try the same :) PS - A shelter is out of the question. Not only are they full (went to inquire at the one up here), some of the folks there were wielding pocket knives and someone got into a fight. Yikes. No way! Tent it is!!!

Well, I've got some explaining to do. It turns out my K'nex was never actually sold. My parents hid my K'nex from me, telling me they sold it, only to give it back to me extremely recently under one stipulation: I can't build guns anymore, unfortunately. Trust me, I'm not complaining; I'm just ecstatic that I can build with them again. I'm sorry for the huge lack of activity lately, but I haven't had that many ideas before I got my K'nex back. My first K'nex creation in a while is this really cool compact lock. Being K'nex, of course, I wouldn't advise that you lock anything with it, but it is nigh on impossible to open with force unless the button is pushed, or you deconstruct the lock itself. It is powered completely by tension, and doesn't need any rubber bands or power source other than the K'nex from which it is made. It is also extremely fun to mess around with, and I could spend about an hour just fiddling with the mechanism; such is my attention span. I'm thinking about working on instructions, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of it first. The second thing I'd like to share with you all is this 3D Owl I printed over at Fab Lab in Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry. I would like to sincerely thank Matt Chalker, the head executive of the Museum of Science and Industry's Fab Lab, the museum itself, and all that make Fab Labs possible for such a wonderful experience. Along with this owl, we made many things out of wood via the wood laser engraver, and finger puppets for each member of my family, depicting our faces, of course. (I have more pictures of both the owl and the lock. If anyone is interested, I could post them in the comments. They're pretty much the items on different backgrounds, though.) Enjoy! -DarkOwl

A family member sent me this ad that was posted on craigslist, while it was the most explicit ad I've ever seen, I'd prefer this over any normal ad. Enjoy those who feel comfortable reading this. DISCLAIMER: I bleeped (****) out any explicit words...... Though I could have missed s-something. And explicit's definition is different between people Side note: If anyone thinks this is a tad (or more than a tad) over the top, PM me or reply saying so. I'll delete it. - - - If you think you'll be offended by this ad... You may wonder why I didn't post a picture and that's because with a car this crappy, a photo is not needed. Just imagine the worst possible car and then picture a camel taking a dump in the trunk and you'll have a close approximation. You don't need to worry about me lying... it really is a POS. There is no risk of you getting over here and finding out it's really a gorgeous gem worth thousands... that doesn't happen...ever. But if for some reason that's actually happened to you, then you are acquainted with a crazy cosmic karma that has never thought to even piss in my face. I almost had a date on PlentyofFish and you know what happened? The f***ing AC died. For two years while I was not dating, it worked fine. The day after I get digits, the AC craps out. The car also has a weird hesitation problem that was not fixed even when I replaced the fuel filter. What could cause all of these things? Satan in the drive train...that's right... it's rare, but it happens to guys like me. This car is actually demon-possessed so you can forget about any sort of easy fix. Jesus said you need faith to cast out demons like this and believe me there are only two people on the planet that have that sort of faith. One guy lives in a cave in India and the other guy is dead. And you can forget about the guy in the cave helping you because, if you can find him, he's just going to tell you how physical setbacks are really spiritual blessings...blah blah blah...yada yada yada. Exactly. Don't expect sympathy from any motherf***er that sits around in his underwear in a cave. Other problems with this car include busted boots on the tie-rod ends, busted wheel hub boots, broken AC, leaking power steering system, ABS light always on, check-engine light comes on occasionally, driver window sometimes comes off the track, paint has permanent dirt in it (yes, it's f***ing permanent...you can't scrub it out with anything less than sandpaper or some highly explosive chemical that causes cancer in 49 states and erectile dysfunction in the 50th.) The car does drive, but that's about all it's good for. Good luck getting it to pass emissions. I've never tried as it's still registered in Clarke County. If you want to date, this car is probably not for you. On a positive note though, I can assure you no one has ever had sex in it. It would take a miracle to get a girl to even sit in this car, much less take her clothes off in it. Other possible uses for this car included entertainment at frat parties. You could charge people $5 a swing with a baseball bat, although you still probably wouldn't recover your investment. You might be able to sell it to the Mythbusters and get the to test the myth, "Is it possible that a car could really be this s***ty?" Adam Savage and Kari Byron will have a field day and close it off with "Myth f***ing confirmed" and a side comment from Kari about how whatever d*****bag use to own it must have never been laid. There are some positives like a beautiful Lumar 32% tint job, keyless entry with remote trunk release, an Alpine CD Player, and Pioneer speakers in the door. So at worst, you can sit in your driveway and listen to music with a bottle of Jergens and a picture of Eliza Dushku. I really wouldn't recommend taking it on the road until you replace the tie-rod ends. You might crash into a bus full of nuns and then the Pope will reign motherf***ing hail fire down on your betrodden a** with more fury than the inquisition because you actually decided to drive and be seen in such an amazing POS, killing 20 of his lovely Sisters. One other thing you might use this car would be pushing it off a cliff. If you've ever wanted to see what it's like first hand for a car to fall hundreds of feet and smash against rock, then here's your chance. Although don't be surprised if this demon-possessed sleigh from hell manages to f*** up your good time even in that bold scenario. I don't know how it would, but it would probably figure out a way. If there are any parents out there reading this, don't let your children fall into the situation I'm in. I would never have ended up with this car if I had pursued a real career. But instead I majored in math where the best job I can find now is up in Portland with a bunch of bran muffin eating hippies, jerking off Moose for 75 cents a smile for some wildlife conservation sperm bank. Let your kids do something with good with their future, like wait tables at Denny's. Oh yeah... it's white, 4 doors, and automatic. Whooptie-f***in-do!

Well I have this Gigatube stereo that I am borrowing from a family member. That site in the link isn't very descriptive, 55 watts per main channel..lol. We have the higher end model (they made different models of the gigatube series at the time of purchase, btw that pocket too).Apparently from sitting up in our attic here not being used (yes it was in it's original box however), it appears to have developed a leak in the left sub's chamber. You can hear it when you turn it up anywhere past volume 10, but if I push on the plexi-glass, it stops making a vibrating sound, and it sounds fine from there.I tried tightening up the 6 screws around the plexiglass plate, underneath the front cosmetic plate (they're actually better designed than it looks from the picture, and produce some of the cleanest notes I've heard from a stereo of it's size). Anyways, that didn't fix things, and being they screw into plastic, I did not want to over tighten anything.Just today I took the screws out and the plate literally just fell off the speaker (if I didn't explain before, the plexi-glass seals around the front, allowing you to see the sub, but it bounces the bass back up the tube and it comes out there, from the looks of it, it's a 3rd type bandpass box). It looks like JVC glued these things on with something hard and flaky like superglue or something similar. So here I am now, and I'm wondering what I should use to glue it back on so it makes a TIGHT seal, I have a squeeze tube of this Clear silicone transparent adhesive sealant, would this be suitable? I found this tube after my father handed me a tube of caulking and I told him only a fool would use caulking on a sub, especially one of these pups.Sorry for the long, long, long post as usual, but I like to try to explain everything up front so I can get a answer sooner without having to wait for replies to "what is that" or lack of specifications, whatever. There's some pictures to enjoy below, don't worry I'm not bugging you guys for nothing :P

Hello all, thought id share my progress of my 97' VW Golf mk3 VR6 2.8 to create some discussion and VAG banter. I brought her completly standard and wanted to build a real sleeper for road use and track use that is fast, practical for everyday use and safe for the family. When I got her back in 2009 she was a standard vr6 nothing really special just a well looked after example Firstly I gave her a good clean inside and out along with a service.......and by clean i mean really cleaning, shampoo the carpet, treat the leather, clean out the heater units, remove and shampoo the roof lining, polish and resin the paint, de greese and steam clean the engine bay to name some of the bits ive done. The result was a very clean base "template" Once all was clean and I could see areas for imporvement I began the work, replacing all the bushes, front and rear lower arms, brake lines, discs, calipers, exhaust were the easy steps When it came to the engine itself I did not want to mess about with it too much just improve the BHP and general running of the car as 174bhp from a 2.8 VR6 is shocking. So removed the engine and re conditioned the gearbox and clutch. While this was out I thought it best to also do the pull chain not a big job but much easier with everything out, once back in I still was not finished.... After giving the engine a full service with new plugs, leads, coil pack, oil change, rocker cover, inlet manifold, seals, upgraded air filter I decided to get the car chipped to see what BHP could be pulled out of her. Happy to say with all that work she was running on the first dyno 192bhp a massive improvement from standard 174bhp and all that from just replacing and upgrading some standard old parts with more expensive performance parts. Once the Chip was installed and the guys at the tuning store had done their works she was happily chucking out 216.4BHP With that I was more than happy and the work put in over the 6month period really showed. I then decided to have all but bumpers colour coded and did a few minor tweeks to the exterious to make her a clean standard example... I will add a full list of specs and work done soon, enjoy the pics feedback welcome

Hey guys! I last logged in...10 months ago. But I wanna stay instructably active, i just...can't for some reason. Anyway, I made this forum topic to tell you about a topic that goes so deep into my mind, you might just not make it back out. You see, there's this concept called 'escapism'. Copied from Wikipedia; "Escapism is mental diversion by means of entertainment or recreation, as an "escape" from the perceived unpleasant or banal aspects of daily life". So basically, it is the concept of daydreaming at such an intense state that everything seems real, and you 'escape' life's stressing aspects. It is something I do very often to the point of living an entire lifetime in an escape. Every sense is so real. Feel, hear smell, taste, sight, it's just unbelievable. Despite living a whole 80 or so years in an escape, it only lasted about 10 minutes. After coming out of such escapes, I feel depressed over missing something or someone in that escape. Some escapes will take place over an entire lifetime, some will be over a few years, a week, or maybe only a few minutes. I have been in extraterrestrial planets, barren deserts, vast fields, cosmic space, and many other moments. Some might even be of just another person. Same day, same age and generation, just a different person with a different family with a just different lifestyle. They are just these amazingly twisted trances that effect my life. They pull me into depressions for no reason. Now you may be thinking "That's so stupid.". But it's not just a concept anymore. It's almost become a lifestyle. I might hear a song or a part of a melody, and I'll have this amazing nostalgia...bringing me back to an escape. Sometimes I'll just miss my surroundings. I might miss mountains, or a clear view of the milky way in the night sky, or I might even miss the view of multiple planets in an extraterrestrial sky. Sometimes I miss it so much I cry. Some escapes I remember, most I have forgotten. My escapes are almost like dreams. They are long and can sometimes feel real, but I forget 90% of it within 10 minutes of snapping out of it. Please, don't be like "YOU'RE SEVERELY DEPRESSED AND YOU SHOULD SEE A DOCTOR", because I already have a therapist. To be honest, with the minor depression I have, he isn't helping at all. I'm not completely depressed, I mean I have my moments (everyone knows that awkward stage of adolescence xP), I'm rather happy of my life. So. What do you all think?
