I have only see a how to do it on wood. So is it possible to create a lichtenberg figure in plastic? Ofc I have done my research on the topic but I'm not sure if a microwave transformer can do the trick. Or if a plain piece of acrylic is conductive enough to let the electron flow through. Instructables user 'harveytwoface999' was wicked awesome for putting up the details how to paint the Stinky Diver figure from the Action League Now series. I personally would like to see all guides on how to make every character, but I'd really like to see one for 'The Flesh' first. I have the Conan The Barbarian base figure needed to get it done. Now I just need instructions! If this question goes unanswered for a few weeks, I might just go ahead and give it a try myself.

I have pivot but i want to make stick fights with it is there a different program thats easier to use for weapons? But i guess you could use like windows media player and paint or something. But is there a different program? Also i want to try to do something like...this

Fantasy Figure- Gigant Spider

I was looking around Deviantart where I searched "custom action figures" to see what new was being posted in that area.  I came across a user who had pictures of this flesh-tone and gray colored action figure that lacked details.  When I read the description, I found out it was a new type of action figure called the Blanx Customizable Action Figure, which would allow people to come up with their own designs.  I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of it, but I figured I'd post the link here, as it may be useful to not just action figure modders, but for artists as well (in fact, according to the site, the Blanx Customizable Action Figure can be used as a sculpting armature, to which a couple of members in the user gallery have used this figure for).  http://www.gonativetoys.com/index.html

Ever see something so awesomely bad that you just had to own it? Earlier today, whilst browsing the isles of the local 99 cents store I came across an American Indians Action Figure set. I saw that there were a few normal (I use the term loosely) looking figures, but there was also this gem. For some reason the white guy of the set was depicted as some space age looking dude wielding a huge silver gun. I bought him, and one of the others (for strangeness comparison). I wonder who would win in a fight between the two.

I have 5 hours tommorow to do anything. I have an odd urge to build a giant dixie cup(see picture) after see an e-mail sant by a relative. I need it to be water proof but still hold liquid. Anyone have any ideas?

While this sounds great, and looks impressive, the video demonstrates how this is one example of technology overshadowing art.  Though many of Marina Polakoff's other works integrate soft circuitry with subtlety and beauty, the line of costumes for the performing arts may be too distracting.  Consider the lovely ice skating routine in the video that must be performed in the dark.  Which were you watching - her salchow or her flashing bananas?  (seriously, there are animated bananas) Regardless of my opinion, I'm sure this is one performance the judges will never forget. via: talk2myshirt

I'm trying to decipher the mystical language of electric motors and need some help. I was at one of my favorite stores yesterday, a place called 'Industrial Liquidators' here in San Diego, and I was looking at their vast supply of electric motors. Big ones, small ones, battery operated ones, flat one, all in latest styles and fashionable colors. I know of plenty of uses for these things but I have no idea what it is I'm looking at. I would like to make my own rock polishing tumbler, so I'd like a motor with a bit or power and a slow rotation, but how can I figure out how strong and fast a motor is?Maybe I'm starting at the wrong place. I must admit that I know next to nothing about electrical stuff. Pretty much the only thing I know about electrical equipment is that it only works when you plug it into a socket.So that being what it is, can anyone direct me to a website that explains how to read these motor labels? Ya know the ones that say how many ohms, volts, amps etc.Thanks for any help.

My newest craze is potato cannons. I built a simple potato cannon powered with hairspray. I didn't plan out ratios of chamber volume to barrel volume, but I must have guessed pretty well because the potatos go far. Really far. I shoot them in an empty bean field and they stay in the air for 10 seconds before hitting the ground at what I guess is 300 yards away. I want to measure it to be sure. I'm probably exaggerating the distance out of sheer amazement. But the potato goes really far. I got to thinking, though, that I could go beyond just shooting the potatoes, and actually turn this into something useful. If there was a way to determine the acceleration of the potato inside the barrel, that would be super cool. I've had a few ideas on this so far:The most complicated involves drilling holes on each side of the barrel. The holes would be every inch the entire length of the barrel. On one side led's would be installed and wired in parallel to remain on constantly. On the other side photoresistors would be installed and also wired in parallel with a microcontroller. When the potato traveled down the barrel it would block the light to some of the photoresistors and the microcontroller would get a readout. If there was a way to program this whole system and get a graph on a computer of the acceleration/time curve, that would be awesome!! Another way would yield a less accurate number. Shooting the cannon straight up and timing how long it takes the potato to hit the ground would give you the initial velocity. Vf = Vi + Gt, so: -2Vi = -9.81t . Once the initial velocity is known, if the time it takes for the potato to leave the barrel can be figured out, the acceleration could be figured out.Let me know what you think!Note: I will attach images as they come.

McFarlane Toys Movie Maniacs (series 7) 12-inch Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is 12 1/4 inches tall on base to top of head. Assembled diorama base is 18 1/2 inches tall. Hello, I built the ark welder from this instructable found athttps://www.instructables.com/id/Build-a-Microwave-Transformer-Homemade-Welder/ I'm trying to figure the new wattage I have two transformers 1: 650 watt MOT-primary at 120 volts 60 Hz 5.41 amps secondary at 16.5 volts 39.36amps 2: 600 watt MOT primary @ 120v  60Hz  5 amps secondary @ 16.5 volts 36 amps the primaries are wired in parallel in the secondaries are in series. The secondaries test at 33 V and I'm guessing roughly 76 amps. I want to calculate the wattage. Is the wattage calculator from the voltage on the primaries (120+120)*76 or calculated from the voltage on the secondaries (16.5+16.5)*76 or am I a complete moron? Also the primaries are parallel are they both 120 V or are they 60 V each thanks in advance.

I hope someone can give me some ideas on this.  I want to make a dough cutter/cookie cutter grid. It would cut 1/2 inch squares and the grid would be at least 12" x 18" (864 squares-like a checkerboard).  If that's not feasible, then a tool that would cut 1/2" strips, and I would turn it to make the squares. I'm thinking the cutting material would be aluminum (which isn't easy to solder).   Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey folks, this is my first post in the community area, I hope I'm posting in the right area. So here it is...I would like to build a little control panel for my kid for fun with a bunch of switches, knobs, and dials mounted on it. Just something to help boost his imagination when playing with his little Micro Machines. I'd like each knob, dial, etc to light up (if featured on that item) and for them all to play a particular sound when manipulated. So my question is, where do I start, and what do I start with in order to make this thing? I don't know if I should learn to program with Arduino or with a Raspberry Pi to get this thing moving. I'd like to mount an audio jack on the outside of the panel that I can hook to my stereo for higher quality sounds from the board. Also, I'm open to paying someone with a good reputation here to do the software and electronics part of this project for me. I'd basically send you the panels with the switches mounted on it. But the price would have to be appropriate for this to happen.  Thank you for looking, and your input guys/gals.

I discovered a simple system that makes it easier to draw a human figure freehand with well proportioned and positioned body parts. This video will show you how to do it (very easy). Basically you draw 3 overlapping stars and they show you the proportions. To make the figure look taller / skinnier move the 2 main stars a little further apart. Or if the person looks too narrow move the 2 main stars closer together. Towards the end of the video I show a couple other pieces of artwork that I could show you how to make if you want.

I don't have a datasheet for the bicolor LED matrix that I got on eBay. It has 24 (12x12) pins, but no way for me to tell which one is pin 1. Any clues? :)

Hello, I've decided to finally try my hand at doing a custom figure. I want to try and make Ferra/Torr from Mortal Kombat X. Little guys riding on big guys is one of my favorite things for some reason. I figure it's probably best to start with Torr (the big guy). Right now I'm looking for ideas on what to use for the base body. I'm leaning towards a Marvel Select Ultimate Hulk as my base figure. I like his facial expression and his hand situation - one closed fist and one open hand with big grody fingernails. I have some concerns though, I've heard his articulation isn't as good as some other MS hulks. Does anyone have some insight into this? Would I be able to get him into a sort of hunched over pose? The little picture on the left shows the size relations between Ferra/Torr and a regular person. I was kind of thinking of going with a bigger scale and using real materials for the cloth and armor and whatnot. I work in a metal shop, so I could probably make the metal bits and bobs. Again, I have no idea if that would be a nightmare or not. Thanks, Me

I've been working on an action figure set based on my family & friends for Christmas.  I have the bodies made and they look alright.  I've got some accessories planned if I have time. I am having trouble getting the face to look decent.  I don't have a lot of sculpting experience, but I've been doing alright so far.  I don't need them to be photo-realistic or anything.  But I do want them to at least resemble the person. Do you have any ideas, tips, or websites that can help me out?

I am playing around with making LED signs. How do I build a circuit to make a parallel string of 50-100 LEDs flash or chase? Also, when working with a large group of LEDs in parallel, how do I figure the size of DC power supply I need. Especially when there are different color requiring different voltages. On my first attempt, I used a 4.5 volt wall wart with various resistors between the white and red bulbs til I got a pretty fair brightness on both. But I was scared of frying 200 LEDs in fell swoop, so I would like to learn the proper way. I think I understand Ohms law to calculate the right voltage and amperage for 1 LED, but how does that apply to 100 or 150? Thanks!

Hello everyone,I'm Anthony and I'm a game designer / game master in an escape game, here in France. I work on Arduino most of the time and I generaly don't reuse electronics of other systems in order to modify it. But now I have to modify a phone to integrate some custom functionnalities.I followed a tutorial on this website to find out how to get a key matrix of the phone circuit (link to the tutorial)I'm quite a beginner to electronics and i admit that the key matrix I'm in front of looks really complicated. It has 9 wires soldered on it, but I can determine how much groups of keys it gets. I tried to use a multimeter with the continuity function but nothing happened. Do you have any tips for me in order to find it out ?Also, the small black lines that cross the circuit's wires are conductive but I have no idea of what the big black dot (on top of the circuit) is... It's hidding the paths so I can't see where the wires go.

I am trying to power 2 small fans that each have an input of 12v DC 0.12A (120mA).  Do I need a 24v DC 0.24A (240mA) to power them both to max capacity?

I need to figure out the actual name of something I bought years ago under the name of "Pyrolixer" for pyro-effects (in Germany). I am also curious as to whether you could diy it.Let me describe what this is about: a liquid that you apply to paper and let dry. When you set fire to that area, it will smolder away, but only where you applied the liquid. From what I gather, it is used for magic tricks and similar effects. In addition to have paper smolder slowly, you can use it to reveal a message by letting it burn away specific areas.Can anyone help me out? "Pyrolixer" does not appear to be a good search term, and thus probably now the English/original/technical name for this. Any feedback is appreciated, and ideas about how to make your own even more so!Thank you!

I bought a Halloween tree from home depot, they said I can't return it. The arms are supposed to move, they don't and I can see whats wrong with it and it is an easy fix. However, I have no clue what the part is called. I need that plastic piece, I hope someone somewhere knows what its called and hopefully where it is. 

I have an AC motor rated at 120 Volts, 60 Hertz and 4.5 Amps. I've already tried connecting this motor straight to a wall outlet, and it works fine. The problem is, I want to control how fast it spins. So, I plan on using a variable resistor connected in series. However, I seem to have already burnt out a 20k variable resistor and I want to know whats going on before I try anything else. I have a 1M and a 2M resistor waiting to be tested but I'm unsure whether or not they will burn out like the 20k! The confusing part is I don't know how to calculate anything because I don't know how much current is coming out of the outlet!

Anyone have any ideas or know-how on how to build a frame/skeleton for a lifesize body? I'm looking to build some lifesize human replicas, and would even like to articulate some of the major joints, like waist (rotation) and shoulders. And preferably without having to buy a mannequin, as the darned things are pretty expensive! (and probably wouldn't adhere well to an articulation implementation).

I think I stumbled upon the secret to time travel thanks to the thoughts provoked by a previous topic. The secret to it is storage!! as of now time travel to go backwards is to try and get to a place that no longer exists. its like trying to watch last sundays football game but you didn't hit recored on the VCR. As I see it if we want to ever suceed at time travel we need a way to recored and regenerate/exactly simulate life. right now time travel is only possible in minute viewings on recorded video. in order to fully exsperience and interact with life as it was we would need to invent a way to recored the planet and store it for future simulations, ala star trek halodeck. we need to come up with a way to capture life or at least a 3D true to life recording of it. This seems a daunting task but if it were ever achievable we would the be able to experience previous times. if maybe or AI abilities improved we could then apply this to future time travel.... come up with a way to extract information from the recordings we have to generate a logically sound hypothetical projection of future existence. ya, ya.... I know I'm retarded..... but it makes sence to me :p

I have a generator that puts out 14 dc volts when you pedal fast on a bike. I need to wire it to both a light and a rechargeable battery pack.  The switch has 3 contacts on each side for a total of 6. I want to be able to switch the light off so the battery pack gets charged during the day. The light has wires coming from it. Please Help!!!
