From the About page:"DangerouslyFun.com provides instructions for creating various physical devices, many of which are dangerous. This information is provided in recognition that dangerous things are sometimes really fun."Amen brother!

Fun withTransformers

Connect the output of 2 transformers in series...  12v  +  6 v. much as you would connect batteries in series. will it burn out?  will it produce 18 v as one would expect with batteries?......... 18 volts!!  yay!   hasnt burnt out( YET)... i wont leave this unattended. transmission of power is more efficient at high v.     sooooo... if i hook the output of a 10,000 v  neon transformer to 2 thin strands of wire( think magnet wire, or a single strand from stranded cable)   and input this  10,000 v into the secondary of a second identical neon transformer, will i get usable 120 v from the primary?  (attempt to run the second transformer in reverse as a stepdown) Nope... not YET.  Suggestions?

OK I heard from a very reliable source of mine that there used to be a program or driver or something where you could make the scanner hum or sing to like a song or something like that I was just wondering if the program or driver etc is still out and about if its free where I can find it and how to use it and yes I realize I used a bunch of random meaningless things in the keywords box but thats just because this is something that isn't going to be happened across very easily

Just for fun!

I noticed we neither have a section, nor a thread for fun stuff, so I just made one ;)Let me give you something fun to think about, then you can add more funny stuff so we all have a good laugh :)The invisible man - a really old story! There is a man, thausands and thausands of year old, some even say he is as old as time itself. One day the old guy got really bored and decided to do something new.A few days of hard work and within a week he created the universe and all we know.To make it less boring he also decided to add some humans to it.After all, why would you need a TV if you can have it all life. Not long and those humans figured it all out and were really greatful for all the hard work done.So in return they accepted some ground rules, ten of them to be precise.Big buildings were built and everyone also needed some tokens to show how much he loves his god. Many years later some guy came along and got interested in this almighty guy everyone now called "god"."What does he do?""Oh! He loves you and watches you every minute of your life!""Nice! And what does he expect from me?""Just follow the rules and read his book if you feel troubled.""There is a book too?""Certainly is and you can have one for just 10 bucks.""And who is he and what would happen if I break the rules?""God is all powerful, wise, loving and forgiving but if you break the rules you will end in a pit of fire and pain for eternity!""Oh, that much trouble if I break the rules... Can I fix it if I did?""God always loves you and will forgive you!""Hmm, just to make sure that I got it right, let me sum it all up:There is an invisible guy living in the sky, he watches every single one down here every minute of the day.He is all powerful, almighty, all loving and the most forgiving guy you can find. But he needs money. Why do you collect moneyfor him if he never eats, sleeps, drinks or has any fun and also states there is no need for riches?"

Fun in an Orb

Rolling down a hill in a tire just got a tech upgrade. The buzzball, described as a "hamster ball for humans" is the new creation from Evento, a New Zealand company that creates, well, interesting forms of kinetic entertainment. The Buzzball recreates the feeling of being on an upside-down roller coaster in all its nausea-inducing glory. However, unlike the other products from Evento, the Buzzball does not come in the shape of a bathroom item.via Geekdad

School/Work fun?

Have there ever been a moment for you when oh so boring work/school is actually fun? I have one. This is the only one there is from me. OK, so our school is going to a museum. I came across a very cool shop that sells weapons. I am not only allowed to buy one, my school's best teacher ever Mr.Andy actually bought it for me. ( quite expensive, $75 ). In case you are wondering, the weapon is an ancient native Australian club. It's very strong. I kept smashing stuff with it and it hardly even dent. So, that's my story. What's yours?

Fun Fire Toy

This is a fun toy I made in the Boy Scouts to scare the younger kids. First take three pages of newspaper, roll them up, and tie it tight with a long thin rope. Then take a candle, light it, and pour the wax over everything but a small edge of the rolled up paper. Light the one end, and if done correctly, the 'toy' should last a few minutes. The long rope gives you the ability to swing it around in the air, and scare people with it. I am not resposible for any burns, forrest fires, or any other type of injury or fire. Use at your own risk, and keep water handy, just in case.

fun question # 2!

Ok so i decided to start another one because i felt like it this one might be gross to some people. ok would you rather starve to death on a island or eat your own foot? you can have a knife some ketchup and mustard and thats it. and you get to magically get to heal your foot with ancient worships. after you eat your foot you explore and find a dead elephant and feast on it for a year then you make a small raft made of leaves and now tell me what you would do with the raft? (after you tell me if you would eat your foot or not.

Fun Halloween pics to share.

A few Halloween pics from this year..The image note making function isn't working, so I'll just explain here..1: A spooky spread on a bloodsoaked (99cent) tablecloth2: Haunted Gingerbread house. I hate it when people say these things are 'too pretty to eat'.. That's what we made it for!!3: Crunchy Cats! Tortillas cut out with cookie cutters, spread with sunflower oil and crisped in an oven.. Dip in a selection of goopy dips, and enjoy! (These felines are sooooo addicting!)4: Spooky Orange flavoured cupcakes!! Oops, I took the photo after I ate one. whoops.5: Witch's Broom PB Cookies with pretzel broomsticks. The salt and sweet flavours together are divine.6: The ice Queen and the Monkey. We should have taken photos for an indestructible on that hair and makeup. It was great!7: My wife's ice queen makeup close up8: "Phantom of the Paradise".. No helmet pics just yet.. They're at work.9: Phantom and Monkey10 & 11: Two Shots of a Mr. Tumnus costume I made for my friend Dave. It's been a fun Halloween. I have tons more fun photos!!

Internship: Create fun instructables

Bit of Fun- Wilhelm Scream

How many movies have you seen that contain this classic easter egg? Don't know what it is? You've probably already heard it a few times before. Every time I go to a movie I enjoy searching for this sound-clip. When I find it, I normally turn to my friend and say did you hear the Wilhelm Scream? I normally get a blank stare followed by The what?'Course I'm the one that studies and analyzes movies' camera shots, angles, etc for fun. Fact: ever wonder why you get so bored watching old movies? Nowadays in entertainment, the human brain gets bored after only five seconds. This means that shots can not be longer then five seconds without a cut, angle change, or radical camera movement. Back then, the limit was ten agonizing seconds. Try it yourself; next time you see a (relatively new) movie, count the seconds before a cut. You'll rarely get past five. In The Bourne Ultimatum, I barely got past three!

Fun uses for Reed Switches?

Reed switches are electro-mechanical devices that opens or closes a circuit when a megnetic field is present. They come in normally open and normally closed designs and range from the size of a grain of rice all the way up to several inches long. A relay, another electro-mechanical device, is comprised of a reed switch and an electromagnet trigger built into one housing. Common uses for reed switches (not counting relays which are used in virtually all electronic devices) include the 'pick ups' on bicycle computers and the sensors on window and door alarms. I just ordered a bunch of reed switches and I need your help in coming up with ideas for what to do with them. Post up your ideas for some things that could be made or modified to be triggered by a magnet coming in close proximity to a reed switch. Remember- the magnet does not have to touch the switch, just get close enough that the magnetic force trips the switch. The stranger and sillier your ideas are the better. Note: this is not a contest and there are no prizes. by posting an idea you are giving your consent for anyone who reads it to use your idea. Posts about integrating reed switches into knex firearms will be ignored (no offence, it's just not my cup of tea).

Are there any knex guns that are good for just playing with. not specifically for war. range doesn't have to be huge but should be ok. It also would be nice if it is something innovative. I right now have a HIGHLY modified desperado pistol. it is great but isn't fun to play around with anymore.

So today I rode in the "Spirit of Goodyear", the Goodyear blimp based in Akron, OH. Pretty cool (amazing experience, really.) As a freelance photographer, I was contracted by a client who arranged the flight for aerial photographs (a videographer was also present.)Life is good.A bit ironic in that my dad was a Chem Engineer for Goodyear for 30+ years, and never was lucky enough to get a ride, but now my wife and I both have had the good fortune--she with an education association, me for work...
