Can't start comatose furby, what to do?

I have a comatose furby that I tried to push start using the instructions on this site, but it will not start. I have push started 2 other furbys and they are doing great. This one, however, it did not work. It seems the horizontal gear is not catching somewhere to turn big gear with the cam. Tried pulling a few things apart and tried to turn gears, got cam down, but still not working. Any help is appreciated.

PhD design research study on Furbys - Please participate!

Are you interested in electronic companions such as Hasbro's Furby? Do you like storytelling? If so, I would like to extend an invitation to take part in my research study. The Stories Tell Objects Project aims to understand the role that storytelling plays in people’s interactions with electronic companions - such as Hasbro’s Electronic Furby - and the relationships we form with them. Participation in this study involves responding to scenarios depicting Furbys, and/or completing two brief questionnaires. If you would like to learn more, or are interested in participating in this study, please visit: http://www.storiestellobjects.net/ Thanks! pygmy tarsiers found alive in Indonesia!

Fox news " Mouse-sized primates called pygmy tarsiers, not seen alive in 85 years, have come out of hiding from a mountaintop in a cloud forest in Indonesia. Weighing just 2 ounces (57 grams), they resemble mini-gremlin creatures, as they have big eyes and are covered in dense coats of fur to keep warm in a damp, chilly habitat. Unlike most other primates that sport fingernails, pygmy tarsiers have claws, which scientists say might be an adaptation to grasping onto moss-covered trees. The recent sighting has conservation implications. And researchers said they hope that with new information about where the species lives, the Indonesian government will protect them from the encroaching development occurring in the animals' home range. Hide-n-seek The last sighting of this primate alive was in 1921 when live specimens were collected and processed for a museum collection. Decades went by without another sighting. And scientists thought the pygmy tarsier (Tarsius pumilus) had possibly gone extinct. Then, in 2000, two Indonesian scientists who were trapping rats on Mt. Rore Katimbo in Lore Lindu National Park in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, reported they had accidentally trapped and killed a pygmy tarsier. So Sharon Gursky-Doyen of Texas A&M University and her grad student Nanda Grow, along with a group of Indonesian locals, went looking for the teacup-sized primates on that same mountaintop. This past summer, the team trapped two males and a female. They placed radio collars on the animals for tracking. Since pygmy tarsiers can turn their heads 180 degrees, this process can be dangerous, as Gursky-Doyen found out. "I have the dubious honor of being the only person in the world to have been bitten by [a pygmy tarsier]," Gursky-Doyen told LiveScience. "My field assistant was holding the tarsier and I was attaching a radio collar around its neck and while I was attaching the radio collar he bit me [on the finger]." The female has since been eaten by a hawk, Gursky-Doyen said.

Some amusing video of folks from the Sci-Fi network mildly abusing a Pleo. mysql matching? Answered

I don't really know how to phrase the question. i'm making a Lotto game in PHP. i have numbers 1 - 100 grouped in lots of 10 (ie. 5-15-25-35-45-55-65-75-85-95) and i want to match them against the "house" numbers (ie. 7-15-22-35-49-55-65-75-85-99) then count how many matches in each group and put that into a column (matches) "USER" 5-15-25-35-45-55-65-75-85-95 vs "HOUSE" 7-15-22-35-49-55-65-75-85-99 = 6 matches. then i can count how many matches to determine "payout" i can do this in excel easily. SQL is harder to do.

excel problem. averaging results of index match?

Hi all (again) new problem semi related to previous. (check my profile for the ones with NFL in the title) now the problem is i want to get the average score for each team in each season. my current formula only gets the first result of the index/match even if i use some of the tricks i've googled. the data is in the format of YearVisitingTeam(W/L/D)Score@HomeTeam(W/L/D)Score          ie   201249ersW41@2012PatriotsL34 i use a formula to strip "Year(Visiting/Home)Team(W/L/D)" so i' left with Score on either side of the "@" (that was a [redacted] pain) using any and all of the tricks i know i get either 0, 27 or an error of some sort. the only way i've been sorta able to do this is by getting the first home win, first home loss, first away win, first away loss BUT that's only 4 of 16 games each season and not a good representation of the average points for the team in a season. the sheet in question is AVG point - Reg Season the source data is 78 - current regular season (2012 season starts @ row 3152)

Problems with Excel formula? (semi-related to previous questions)

Hi all, i've got a problem with a formula in my excel spreadsheet that i'm using to get the scores for NFL teams 1978 - Current i have the data ok but the problem is with matching the the specific games. i've CONCATENATED the data to provide unique data points also it's in two columns (Home & Visitor) in the format of YearTeamW/L/DScore     eg. 2012TitansW35 in the VERY unlikely event (and i've check a random selection) that the team has 2 wins at home with the same score this could cause an error. here is the formula i'm using: (version ~8000zzzzz lol) (all one formula, just added a line break to make it fit) =(IF(MATCH($A$3&$B$2&"w*",Home_Team,0)=MATCH($A$3&$C$2&"l*",Visitor,0),INDEX(Visitor,MATCH($A$3&$C$2&"l*",Visitor,0)) ,IF(MATCH($A$3&$B$2&"d*",Home_Team,0)=MATCH($A$3&$C$2&"d*",Visitor,0),INDEX(Visitor,MATCH($A$3&$C$2&"d*",Visitor,0))))) Here's a link to the folder with the spreadsheet. (NFL Stuf (test).xlsx) Sheet: Past Season Summary - what is says. eventually where the formula is going. Sheet: nfl2011lines - 92   - the data (actually 1978 - 2012 but i named it before i added all the data) Sheet: TESTING - my "sandbox" so i don't [Censored] the main sheets Semi-Related Question1 Semi-Related Question2

Circuit Bending Workshop at Discovery World (Milwaukee, WI)

Circuit Bending is the art of rewiring and short-circuiting a device to create entirely new sonic possibilities. In a DIY interactive lab environment, learn the basics of electronics by reverse engineering old toys such as the Speak and Spell and other gadgets. Bring an old toy or instrument (check your local thrift store for anything with buttons and a speaker). Then dismantle, adding switches and knobs to create new from the old; this is electronics recycling at its finest. We will be offering two classes in September in October: 1: Intro to Circuit Bending Wednesday | Sept 23 | 6:30 - 9pm $25 Members & MIAD students | $35 Non-Members In this interactive crash course we'll cover the equipment, tools, and techniques needed to start you on your own bending adventure. 2: Circuit Bending Workshop Wednesday | Two-Part Series - Sept 30 & Oct 7 | 6:30-9pm $55 Members & MIAD students | $65 Non-Members In a comprehensive two-part series, participants explore the process of turning toys into noise instruments. We'll cover everything from basic bending and probing techniques to creating noise instruments with knobs, body contacts, photo sensors, and amplifier outputs. CALL (414) 765-8625 FOR RESERVATIONS. Workshops will be held in Discovery World's Electronic Lab, with a maximum class size of 15. What you need to bring: Something to bend- basically anything with buttons and a speaker that runs on batteries (old toys like the Speak and Math and Furby, older Casio keyboards are very bend friendly, guitar effects pedals can be drastically altered), and fresh batteries for your device. Due to the nature of circuit bending there is a high probability of damaging a device beyond repair. If it is valuable to you, don't take it apart! Equipment and beverages (beer for 21+) will be provided, as well as a limited number of toys to bend. Feel free to reply to this post if you have any questions, or e-mail diy@discoveryworld.org
