Grenades for grenade launchers

I was watching the military channel, and I saw the M32 grenade launcher. I really want to build something like it with knex. But here's the problem: I have yet to find a grenade that can fit in some sort of barrel. I'd use Carlz's grenade, but the rubberbands on the outside of it would GREATLY decrease the range. We need to make a smooth grenade, any ideas?

how do you build a grenade launcer?

It looks like a short sholder mounted rocket launcher only it takes the big co2 canisters, fires those nerf footballs that have tails, and loads from the top by cocking the front barrel forward and loading the round into the barrel before snapping it back. It was in a video on youtube.

airsoft shower/shotgun/grenade launcher

Ok what do you guys think its a airsoft bb shower at 20-30 psi it 20 bbs goes around 200fps and100feet (rough estimations) can you rate it 1-10 if its a decent avg ill make a instructables (you probibly know how to make one but the shells are kinda hard)

Improvements/Questions on Launcher Design?

Using the picture as a base. What do you think about this design for a smoke/whatever else launcher. The barrel will be made of pvp and have a hinge connecting the two pieces. On the non-detachable side will be a hook, and the detachable side will have a "hook grabber". The hook is some sort of bendable material that will lock around the grabber. The gun part of the pvc will have a slit cut into, like the one in the picture. A spring will be glued down in the butt end, and the opposite end of the spring will have some small object attached to it. This object will also have a very small hook coming off of it. To load the gun you will detach the hook and push in the smoke grenade as far as possible. When you can no longer, you you attach a wire that is coming off of the little black box detailed in the picture to a mechanism that is attached to the trigger. You then close the front part to allow for better travel. When the trigger is pulled, it will detach from the blackbox on the spring, causing the spring to release all of its tension. The smoke grenade will, obviously, be propelled through. So, my questions. Would this seem like it would work viably? How much distance would you say it could get? The smoke grenades would weigh around 11oz . Is there any major flaws? I believe that some sort of spring guide will be needed. Are these possible to construct yourself? I haven't done any projects with springs before, most of my projectiles have been launched via combustion, so this is new for me. Should there be an additions? Also, the way in which the smoke grenade is going to ignite is a striker on the side of it, along with the inner edges of the end of the barrel having a striker on it. When they scrape up at the speed they will be at, they would ignite, and a fuse would catch the flame and ignite the smoke grenade. I have done this on other smaller designs. It doesn't have near a 100% success rate, but it still works the majority of the time. Any suggestions for changing this?

Knex "GRENADE" SPLODIE LAUNCHER and SPLODIE ROCKET

Splodie launcher: I just made this gun, it fires custom splodies. It's range is about 30-50 feet (depends rubberbands). And It will hurt if ou get shot (ask my friend). Some of the parts are from excisting guns (barrel, trigger...) The trigger mechanism is a bit crappy but works, so if anyone has some tips, plz tell me. Splodie rocket: This is a rocket that holds 5 splodies in it, I still have to make a launcher for it. And I'll do that this weekend. Greetzzz, Infinnion UPDATE 8july: I added some photos of final version. The launcher has now a good trigger mechanism and the barrel is shorter (less dragg), the instructable will be post this week (if I have enought time), and I wasn't able to make a laucher for the rocket. I've now devloped another rocket, so I may make a launcher for that. WARNING: I am not responsible for any damage to urself, your home, your cat :P, or ur knex parts. So please dont point at people or animals, except for people u hate :p, no i'm serious.

Is there some sort of rigid tubing with a 40 mm interior diameter to fit an airsoft grenade?

What material, size and thickness of tubing (pvc, abs, copper) would be necessary to fit a 40 mm airsoft grenade inside of. It would need to be either 40mm exactly or slightly larger, although I'm not sure how much larger it could be.

need help transfering propane

Knex sniper

This is a Knex Sniper my friend and I made. we combined many mechanisms, ideas, and concepts from other guns to create this one. We would like to know if we should POST instructions. NEW GRENADE LAUNCHER: H.S.S.P. V3 (Heavy Support Splodie Pistol)

Hello everyone, I yesterday builded this modification of the HSSR, the advantages: - smaller - easier to load and cock - more reliable (less barrel, so less drag) - easier to build disadvantages: - looks less cool (my opinion:P) - less accuracy So I think this gun is better than the rifle version, but also check it (It's an instructable). grtz Infinnion, EXTRA: you can add some grey connectors to the side of the gun to hold splodies. nerf m203

I have been looking around and have not found a good design for a nerf m203 grenade launcher so i made this picture. (note i have not made one but i might, just an idea) it will fire a nerf pocket vortex in will go below the Nerf recon the tactical rail it would be more for function than look. tell me what you think. ps i may just use a air fitting for a compressor  rather than a pump.

Wide-Barrel

I came up with this gun design a year or so ago. I think the idea for such a wide barrel has been done, like the bug-squarish one, "Special munitions" or something. Even this use of gray rods has been done as a grenade launcher- but never with a trigger. The usefulness would be to use as a shotgun, of course, or fire those little black circle things. I've taken this apart some time ago, but it could be rebuilt. I realize the wide ramrod tip would seriously decrease power, but it is a less piece-consuming version of the barrel seen on the previously mentioned "special munitions" (or something) gun. Does anyone think this is valuable?

SELLING MY K'NEX

To mark my retirement of making knex guns, From Tuesday the 24th of november, my whole set of K'nex will be up for sale on eBay, which is made up of the power tower crane, space tower, 2 cyber K'nex sets and countless other sets, and includes 4 boxes full of wheels, gears and motors (8 electric motors to be exact), i will ship internationally if requested and if you state that you are a K'nex gunner i will include the orginal semi-auto prototype that i created, a splodies grenade and launcher loaded and ready to fire and a large box of rubber bands free (this will be broken down if a non knex guner buys it) i will post a link  to the sale after it has been listed and good luck! pictures uploaded...

Project TTD--XM8

Alright well I wanted to keep this relatively low but I keep pushing back the project so I thought I'd let you guys know that trauts and I are working on an XM8 with a lot of special treats. I'm kind of stuck in California without my knex (and a small tub and a half here that will do me no good. I did teach my little cousin about knex guns and showed him the Mini-er TDS though >_<) so I'll have to wait until Friday to give you anything. I also have to finish my official assault pistol. So far the XM8 is just a bunch of ideas and nothing is built yet. I'm actually not sure as trauts might have made part of it but I haven't heard from him for awhile so I doubt it. Well for my assault pistol I was planning on making my war weapon now that others have. Thank god I think we may have found the new side arm and new new sniper fad...although now we're going to have a lot of spiff and bbkwg copies. It will be an open mag blue rod fed gun. I gave it a little twist for originality--I angled the magazine. This way the ammo is put farther up for more power but now the mag acts as a hand guard and doesn't stick out. Honestly it does jam like every 5 shots or so on average. I have yet to perfect it as I only started the night before I was leaving for CA. I should be making different versions of it like a larger one with a stock and yellows for ammo and then a smaller one maybe with a slide or something for whites. Anyways for the main project trauts and I are making an XM8 with a couple different features. Some things we're hoping to accomplish. *Similar charging handle- You'll be able to cock the weapon by pulling back a lever on top under the carrying handle. *Removable mag- Once again another one of my favorite accomplishments. *Interchangeable parts- The barrel/carrying handle and the back will be made to come off easily or at least without major mods to switch between the normal assault rifle and the compact version. *Hopefully we'll come up with an adjustable stock. *A grenade launcher for D splodies- Yup we're hoping to make a mini slingshot device in the form of a grenade launcher to attach under the XM8. Finally I have one last special feature pack that deserves more than a couple asterisks. We were hoping to save this as a surprise when we posted it but I might as well tell you. The gun will be part of a kit. It will be a war gun after all. The kit will include a belt/vest/ something to carry on you that will hold side arm, maybe an assault pistol, a couple of grenades most likely D Splodies so you can refill your grenade launcher, extra magazines, and finally a spot for your XM8. We'll try to hurry and post pictures with progress reports. I can't promise that we'll include every single one of these features but we are sure hoping to. So does this sound like a good Christmas gift?

Heckler&Colt "G16"

This is a cross between a HK G3 and a Colt M16. It doesn't have a magazine right now because I am too lazy. It is ,however, a sear system gun, so it has a "true" trigger. I haven't tested ranges yet, though it seems pretty powerful with blue rods. Hope you enjoy! ==UPDATE== 8/18/07 Sorry for those who liked the foregrip, it is gone...... REPLACED BY A GRENADE LAUNCHER!!!!!!!! Inspired by Loosewire's disc magazine, it can fire a shotgun round of about 10 blue spacers, or a slug round of a disc. The GL has a vertical grip, gut the gun will also have a horizontal foregrip as well. The GL works like a catapult, where the ram is pulled back and cocked, and instead of hitting or pushing the round out, the round is launched from the shear force of the ram suddenly launched, like when the light suddenly turns red and you slam the breaks on your car. ==UPDATE== 8/19/07 The GL is out of the prototyping stage. Rate a Custom TR! (update)

Since everyone likes the TR so much and people are making custom TR's, I decided to have a "Rate a TR" thread.  Other sites have similar threads, like SSCoasters. The basis is that you post a picture of your TR, and the next person to reply has to rate your TR on a scale of 1-5.  Then he posts a picture of his custom TR, and the next person rates it and posts his TR, and so on. The more modded a TR seems, the higher rated it should be.  To start the topic off, here is my custom TR.  It uses Zak's stock because I like it so much, and it features original custom ironsights, and a neat trigger guard that attaches to the foregrip.  I will probably post a video later. *Edit* since there seems to be some debate on mods, I will clarify what I meant: By "mods", I meant mods that make the gun better or increase efficiency in some way or form.  So if you throw a bunch of random parts on your TR like a scope or a grenade launcher, it doesn't count towards my overall definition.  *update*:

is there any one who could help get my nerf gun idea made (profesionally) from the nerf company/ hasbro, could u help

Ok so i have an idea for an insane nerf gun idea it would have a six shot cylinder, in side the stock there is an aluminum air tank which can be screwed out, refilled by a bycicle pump and screwed in. this is the power system, more power and it becomes semi auto it is able to shoot nerf footballs, the green foamy balls, or a cartrige can be inserted to have a shell put in to shoot a tri shot with darts. if posable the stock should be adjustable, and have a removable forgrip, just like the scope type attatching system, and please if your someone who can do somthing about this to get it made, make it POWERFUL, more than any othere gun, so if you can help or tell me who to contact, post a coment or design and create the gunin n strike paint job, or black, silver and darke green, oh and post ideasfor anything else that should be added, and put alot of attatchment rails on it, it should look similar to a moder millitary grenade launcher.

OK This my second attempt at a contest (hopefully it works this time) . Will replicate any gun*

Yup you give me a gun and I will replicate it* I just don't know what to build but I really need something to post NOW! I'm trying to build my rep up even more so I'm hoping to have at least 10 replicated guns before the end of this summer. Please leave me a good picture of the gun or a link to it. I have the right to reject any gun that I feel I either dislike (miniguns) are too simple (sten) or too complex (uh...insert some very complex weapon here)*will not make anything that involves explosives unless I feel like having an extra grenade launcher or something. I have enough pieces to make most weapons but still limited so nothing big. I will also not make a random gun with just requested features it has to be a real gun.Edit: To encourage people to vote for a gun I'm going to list the features I hope to include in the gun if I do make it.~List of guns~SAW-1 I'll try adding a chain either for actual loading or most likely looks not sure what else yet.M1 Garand-2 I'll probably try a similar loading style.MP5-1 Detacheable mag plus extendable stock.FN F9000-2 (just one more vote) Bullpup design and...well I'm not sure what elseDragunov-1 Detacheable mag and I'm not sure what else but there will be more.You may either place one vote or add your own. Zombie RPG / D&D Style Game

For ZSDW: I've been in the zombie hype for awhile, (about a year ago,) and after finishing a couple of Zplans, I decide it would be fun to kill some zombies with dice and statistics. Alas, this is quite the beta, and it generally uses d6's, as well as some skewed grammar and stats. First things first. You are not a specified character. You have no character sheet, you have no special abilites. The following few paragraph will explain a few confusing things, and give hints on how your location will affect your game. Then, there will basic weapon stats. Later, there will be about how zombies affect you, and what kinds of zombies there are, and their health. You will also learn how you can scrounge for stuff from bodies.  Subdivide means to roll for what section it is applicable for. Say your about to go into a room, you would roll for SURVIVOR and ZACH Room check. Say you get a four(4). That means there is something in the room. You would then decide if it was locked. (Unnecessary, but for extra gameplay, most are going to be locked. Hit the lock with something, and roll for it's regular attack. If the attack is successful, you broke the lock. If not, well, you may have to literally blow up the door, or say that you cannot go into the room.) Let's say no lock for times sake. Now, you know something/someone is in there. Subdivide by rolling what it is. Second line of Survivor and Zach Room Check shows this. Luckily, you roll a one(1). That means a Military person is in the room. They can have Assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, Rifles with Scoped subclass, And Scatterguns with the Breacher Barrel subclass. You can only find them in Military bases, Start Variable Location:Warzone, or ALERTNESS Yellow or higher. When moving through a house, roll for room encounters. You may roll for how many rooms you must go through,( If I roll 5, I need to go through 5 rooms before getting out, or to destination around/in house) so you must roll for encounters/room searches while in those rooms.(You would roll 5 times in this case for People and Zach Room check rolls.)  In a house, you may roll for RUN, so 1-2 success, and go to the next room. 4-6, unsuccessful, roll for Scratch. (1-3 Scratched, 4-6 safe.)   ALERTNESS is just a guide for what zombies are available to kill. The ALERTNESS bar is unnecessary; however it adds another angle to the game. It is at the back of this guide.  Ideas, Tips and Otherwise: Tanks, APCs, Pickups, convenience stores, Molotov Cocktail, Improvised weapons, have some fun, and add to this game! Make up some weapons, apply variable splash damage, and just make sure you kill some Zach!   Your start variables should be placed on a separate sheet, for reference. Say for location you picked rainforest/jungle, (your geography, weather, and season fits that description.) you will need/want to roll for Scratches more. (For realism, generally, there will be more crawlers, same with Aristriked Urban.) Same for Urban, and Airstriked-Urban, (Broken buildings, rubble, etc.) or Warzone. (More military personnel. Tanks? Have some fun! :)  START VARIABLES (At the top of the game sheet.) Each survivor in your current group takes 1 supply per day. Supplies can be found by subdividing if your preceding ROOM SEARCH roll is 1-2. If Travel Days is active/applicable, your group takes only 4 supplies per day, individual people in your group do not take any supplies, and you cannot be attacked by Z's. Travel Days are good if you have more than 4 people in your group, and have low health, or need to get somewhere. BITES are fatal, you take 3 supplies when bitten, then the following day you become a Z. Your group can take your weapons. SCRATCH'S are non-fatal; you take 2 supplies for 3 days. (7supplies, because of the one you took the day you were bitten, then the 6 you will take for the following days.) For all melee attacks, roll for bone breaks. 1-2 break, 3-5 Scratched, 6 safe. Scratch disables RANGED and FIREARMS attacks. For disabled, or failed melee attacks, 1-2 = arms, or arm, 3-4 =legs, or leg, 5-6 = chest or neck break. A Neck Break Disable turns Zach melee attacks to 2 bitten, 1 and 3 scratched, 4-6 safe. Arms/Legs breaks decreases that zombies fighting ability to 2 bitten, 1 and 3 scratched, 4-5 safe, 6 breaks leg of human.  When a human has a leg broken, he/she takes two supplies per day, and halves the amount of current PTD. (Play Time per Day)   To determine the time a day takes to complete, roll for the PTD, or Play Time per Day. This is found by rolling a 6 sided dice, then multiplying the number on the dice by 3. This is approximately how long a "day" is in the ZRPG, in minutes. You will need a watch or timer to play this game, if you want to apply PTD.  FIREARMS Scattergun(Shotgun) = 1-3 hit, 4-6 miss, Melee 1-4 hit, 5-6 disabled. RANGE:3 This affects a maximum of 3 Zs. Roll for 1-2 1 Zach affected, 3-4 2 Zach affected, 5-6 3 Zach affected. Sub-Class: Breacher Barrel, 1-2 hit, instant death upon Z's, breaches locked doors/drywall (Apartments, this happens if you like to shoot stuff, or the lock you just suck at opening wont unlock,). Pistol = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. RANGE: 4 Melee 1-3 hit, 4-6 failed, if failed, roll for scratches, Z is disabled if successful hit. Subdivide for disable type. RANGE: 1 Sub-Class: Laser, 1-5 hit, 6 miss. RANGE: 5 Rifle = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. RANGE: 10 Melee 1-2 hit, instant kill, 3-5 disabled, 6 scratched. RANGE: 2 Sub-Class: Sighting-Laser, 1-4 hit, 5 miss, 6 disable. RANGE: 12.  Bayonet, see knife attack roll. Scope, 1-9 successful on 12 sided die. RANGE: 16 Assault Rifle = 1-4 hit, 5 miss, 6 instant kill or disable, you pick. RANGE: 14 Sub-Class: Grenade Launcher, 1-4, instant 4 Z's kill, when applicable. 5-6 miss Blows open walls/doors, when you fail  assault rifle as a prerequisite to use a grenade launcher. Sub-Machine gun: 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Has a three round burst, you can hit a Z 3 times, or 3 Z’s 1 time each, or any combination thereof. Sub-Class:   BLUNTS Crowbar = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Sub-Class: N/A 2x4 = 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss. Sub-Class: Additional Spike/Nail 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss, roll for instant kill, or instant disable. Sheet Metal Tipped, instant disable 1-4, 5-6 miss. Bat = 2-5 hit, 1 and 6 miss. Sub-Class:Aluminum Bat, 1-3 and 6 hit, 4 bat bends (You cannot use the bat anymore)                                        5 miss, instant disable if hit is successful.                    Steel Bat 2-5 hit, 1 and 6 miss, instant kill if hit is true. Sledgehammer = 1-3 hit, 4-6 miss, roll for Scratch if hit is false, insant disable/kill, subdivide for odd/even. You cannot attack next round, but you can use a secondary. Sub-Class: Industrial size, 1-5 hit, 6 miss, instant kill, Scratch if miss. You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again.   SHARPS Axe = 1-2 hit, 3-6 miss, instant kill. You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again. Sub-Class:Double Sided axe, 1-3 hit, kills 2 Z's. You may use this twice on your turn, You can only use this once per battle, however at the cost of a Scratch, you may use it again. Hatchet = Melee, 1-4 hit, 5-6 miss, Thrown, 1-2 hit, 3-6 miss, if hit, roll = 1-3, disabled, 4-6 instant kill Sword = 1-3 hit, 4-6 miss. Instant disable, or roll for instant kill, 1 and 6 instant kill, 2-5 disable. Sub-Class: Knife =1-2 eye stab, instant kill. 3-4 disable. 5-6 miss. If miss, roll for 1-4 scratched, 5-6 bitten. Thrown 1-4 hit, instant disable. 5-6 miss. When you successfully instant kill or disable a zombie, you lose your knife. Sub-Class: Improvised weapon w/ rifle. 1-4 instant kill,  5-6 disable.   RANGED Bow and Arrow =1-3 hit, 5-4 disabled, 6 miss. Sub-Class: Bomb Arrows,1-4 instant death. Fire Arrows 1-4 hit, roll again, 1-3 immolates Z's, 4-6 damages torso. See Molotov Cocktail effects. Molotov Cocktail = 1-5 hit, 6 immolated, dies 3 days. Buildings burn 3 days. Sub-Class:Alcohol Bomb, 1-6 hit, no misses. 2 Alcohol Bombs kill a Z, 2 days. Starts building fire.   Room Search Rolls: WEAPON SEARCH: 1 = FIREARMS, Subdivide for type, pistols and scatters only 2-4 = SHARP, 5 = BLUNT,  6 = RANGED, no Crossbows/Archers Bow. ITEM SEARCH: 1-2 = Supplies, when applicable. This is probably CVS's Walgreens, SURVIVOR and ZACH ROOM CHECK: For a room check, use a d20.  1-4 Z-Encounter, 6-9 survivor, 10-15 nothing, 16-20 supplies. If you roll 16-20, roll a d6. You gain supplies equal to the number on the d6. For a zombie encounter, roll a d6 for number of Z's   AWARENESS LEVELS L. Black = Finished game                                             The world is destroyed and there are zero humans left on earth. Zombies are the dominant species now. They will walk the earth, scrounging, trying to fill the hole that can never be filled. Good job, how could you let this happen?   Z's or Zach Types   These zombies are put where applicable. Normal Zachs, and Fat Zachs are found everywhere.   If you miss while attacking a Z, subdivide if they hit you. If you are hit by a Z, you become one in 1 day. You take 3 supplies for that day, if applicable. 1-4 Z bites you, 5 they Scratch you, 6 is miss.   Normal Zach’s = 1 hits to kill apply infection normally.(Found in AWARENESS level: Near none) Fat Zach’s = 2 hits to kill, lower bite rolls to 1 bitten, 2-6 safe.(Found in AWARENESS level: near none) Mil Zach’s = 4 hits with FIREARMS and RANGED, 3 hits melee. (Found in AWARENESS level: Less than medium) Martyrdom Zach’s = 2 hits to kill, only found in churches, monasteries, temples, etc. (You may pickup pistols and knives only from these. Subdivide, 1-4 none, 5 pistol, 6 knife) Quislings = 2 hits kill, if bitten, do NOT roll for infection! If you are hit by a Quisling, you use 2 supplies for 1 week. PD(Police)Zombies = 4 hits kill, You may pick up Pistols and Scatterguns from them Subdivide, 1-3 pistol, 4 none, 5-6 scattergun.
