Hi everybody! I'm thinking of getting a home made tattoo. I've been looking through various home made tattoo gun designs, but as the tattoo design I have in mind is rather big I'm thinking there might be an easier way than having to "dot" it out.. So, theoretically, could one make a cut in the skin (about maybe ten inches long) with say a razorblade, and then just rub the ink into the cut? I don't wanna seem like a moron here. I know it's a risky procedure, but if it could work and I would go through with it, is there something special I should take into consideration? And what would I use for ink? I've seen the term "indian ink" used on several forums, but I'm not from the US and I don't know if the stores here in sweden even carry that stuff. Anyways, I know this may sound like a real stupid idea, but if I ever get a tattoo it's gonna be one I made myself. That's the whole idea.

I recently acquired a very large 12V SLA battery and want to make a UPS for my computer. I think I have the basic idea, but I'm not entirely sure how I would go about this. I'm guessing I could use a relay to switch from the mains to battery, but then I would need a very large capacitor to run the equipment for a few milliseconds whilst it switches. I would need a separate transformer and regulator for the relay, and also an inverter for the battery, which I will probably buy as it looks like it would be too hard to make. Is this the right approach to it?

Welders for sale THE VERY BEST HOME MADE WELDER this is the best welder, its so good that I would like to offer, to build one for you. look at the photos, the photos are not the best, but they show the basic setup, when I send it to you it will come in a metal box like any other store bought welder, I WILL ONLY SHIP THE BEST, this welder can weld up to half inch, with good penetration, NOT A TOY ...... there's also a picture I had drawn up for you to so you know I want it to look like. also I would like to tell you that since I am building a box for mine, I think that building another , at the same time would be best, thats why I have waited, do remember I ONLY SHIP THE BEST TO YOU! THE PRICE IS $70 DOLLARS if you think thats too much, go look at welders at a store, that can do as much as this one! then you'll know this is a very good deal! IMPORTANT this welder uses 3/32 welding rods,I will send you some rods so you can have some fun as soon as you get it , it can be modified to work with 1/8 rods , just buy adding another transformer, tell me what you think, at KNOWHOWDANIEL@YAHOO.COM and thats not capitalized if you don't think it possible I will LAUGH! First of all sorry for my English Its just an idea, like that "Intelligent Power Strip" but on the cheap. Use a relay powered from the PC molex (5v yellow-black), so that when you turn off your computer, it turns off, for example, the sound system, modem... connected to this. I have no experience with relays or high voltage. Anybody interested?

Hi there, i'm new in this site, but is there instructions here on making lethal homemade guns? Not just bbs or knex, I mean ones that are really lethal. or even beter, is there someone here that knows how to make lethal automatic guns? I wached mythbusters about the paper cross bow and discovered some inmates in the past made guns from plumbing materials. Is there anyone here that knows how to do somthing like that? Waht about home made ammo?

I have for a few years now made my own home-made weapons knives, axes, bows and arrows, and the like. I had the thought recently about creating an instructables series on how to make all of these by hand. My question is how many of you out there would like to see something like this? Please leave a comment below just saying that you would. Or if you have a suggestion, question, or would like to send me a project of yours comment that too. thanks guys, pbman123

I need advice on how to make a capacitor charger. I know somebody is going to say camera charging circuit but i have one and it doesnt make the cut. I am planning on getting some transformers from wall bugs and old alarm clocks. but i need to know how to wire them and make them work with a DC input and an AC output. I need it to be at least 500 volts output

Hey.... i tryin to think of ways to improve my guns... I have 2 spring rifles (a good sniper and a crappy assaultish style) and 1 pistol (also spring)... it would be much appreciated if someone could make an instructable that would allow you to make a bipod that does not use tape to attach to gun (folding = happy), as well as a pistol that isnt a pen gone blowgun. add any other improvements also, such as your own scope rings that attach to weaver rails.

I'm a member of a Shriners riding unit that makes mini firetrucks and ambulances out of go-karts to ride in parades. Strictly for fun. Many of the guys have spent hundreds of dollars to purchase "official" police vehicle lights but I'm thinking I'd rather tinker and make my own. I can probably do more with them this way then be limited to what I could buy commercially. I'd figure that I can get most of what I need in the way of LEDs and such through Radio Scrap or a local equivalent but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a site with some DIY plans on how to do this?

Hi I'm working on a project where we are using an anaerobic digester along with a series of gas scrubbers that yields biogas containing roughly 80% methane (ch4) and 20% oxygen. I know that this proportion of methane is well above the upper explosive limit of methane (about 15% methane by volume) but the presence of that much oxygen makes me nervous. Am I going to have trouble compressing this gas mixture without blowing a new hole in my head? I am planning on compressing the purified biogas to about 20psi at between 60-80 degrees farenheight and in a respectably blast proof gas container. please help! (Trying to help our planet!)

How do i go about making one of these i have a few ideas floating around but the sound well "primative". i want to make one myself cuz for me they are too tedious to load to cheap and break easy and the ones tht are sturdy are wayyy to expansive for a weekend worrior. also the clips only hold like 15 for a handgun and we play from like 10 feet away from each other and dont need a rifle. also they just arent accurate enuff. and dont go as far. i see some ppl playing in fields like as big as football feilds and if i tried tht the ball would curve wayyyyyy off half way orrr not make it there. and the exensive ones do tht but are toooooo expansive. For me and my friends airsoft is a paintball subsistute cuz here in maryland it gets really cold and paintball supplies are only found at the nearest wal-mart. so i want a realiable semi-auto, self built gun.

I built a projector using an old carousel slide projector and used a MP3 player for my LCD screen. It works Ok except that when I focus the picture the Squares from the LCD screen are really noticable. Is there any way to make these disappear or, at least to minimize them so they aren't as noticeable.

I've been trying to gather information to build a welder for a special application. The use is for welding the commutator tabs and magnet wire that passes over them for small DC motors. While there are specialized and often automated welders made for this purpose, they are both large and very expensive and really intended for industrial users. I have been able to get small bits of information as to how others have done this, but it's been difficult to get the whole project laid out (there is apparently some "secrecy" involved here!?). The materials being welded (soldering isn't a preferable way to make this connection...these motors run hot and very fast) are the brass commutator tabs (approximately .030" thick material about .060" wide formed as a "U") and the copper magnet wire used to wind the poles that then passes over each brass tab...from #23 awg to #28awg. From what I've been able to gather, people have done this on a "homebrew" basis using 6V automotive battery chargers/starters that can deliver around 30 amps or more. I have very little knowledge of electronics and none at all about welding and circuit design, but am looking for information on how I might proceed after sourcing the charger/starter. I'm guessing that the "negative" cable would be adapted to use as a clamp at the commutator and would also double as a heat sink to prevent damaging the commutator and that the "positive" cable would somehow be adapted to hold some sort of fine rod that would touch each com tab to complete the welds. -Maybe a footswitch could or should be used to start/stop the weld? -Is the positive cable simply used to hold a rod for the "spot weld"?, or are there other pieces that need to be added? To my mind, it would seem that simply touching the positive to the commutator tab to make the weld and complete the circuit would simply trip a breaker at the panel or any protection device on the charger(dead short!?). -Any other information or thoughts? Thank you in advance -john

Hi all, I am modifying a car alternator to a PMG .The winding system is 3 phases the diodes are still connected to have a DC voltage and the rotor circuit has thrown away. The rotor have been machined and a steel pipe is weld on it to adjust the diameter. On the surface of the steel pipe I glue the 14 N42 (20x10x2.5 mm) magnets N & S pole alternately to have 7 pair of N&S poles. The number of poles is 14/ph.I am not getting good result at 1150 rpm it gives 15 volts & at 1450 rpm --> 20 volts. But i need around 15 Volts at 300 rpm how could I get it? Please advise magnet arrangement note that gap between magnets and stator is about 2mm. Hasen

I was curious what if i put a 16 cubic ft. chest freezer in my small work building and filled 75 % fullof water . once frozen i could install and 4 inch pvc pipe in one side and then another in the opposite side. On days i would be working in my shop for a few hours if i pushed air through the pipe and recieved cold air out the other side. Wonder how long this would work or would it work at all? Andy

I have a crazy idea to make a transformer for a tesla coil useing two MOTs that are exactly the same, Then cutting them so you only have the 2 "E" core sections, Pull off the primary off one, flip the secondry so its out of phase, put the two cores together and clamp them so they cant move. put some extra shunts in to help limit current, hook up the primary to a variac and turn up the power slowly and test the arc. PORK CHOP! pole pig?

I am trying to construct a heating element, preferably out of nichrome, for heating a small box (24 * 40 * 13 cc). The box is covered on all sides, so the heat dissipation from the box will be very low, as per estimate. I think a 12V supply would suffice for the nichrome wire. The only thing is, I need to maintain the box at an ambient temperature of about 38 degrees. Any thoughts on how I could go about constructing the heating element?
