Just a quick festive greeting to one and all, rushing to beat a dying battery and get you yet another huge meal. Bird books as expected, but also my father in law gave me a book that should end upp becoming the source of a really major instructable over the Easter / Summer breaks... Oh, and we've been invited to stay with friends in Summer. In Geneva - the Swiss one. Anyhoo, hope you've all had as grand a Christmas as Family Kite and all associated families. "See" you all later. >K<

I made this in dedication to all the great people in my life. The text version is for all maccies and linuxers out there. Note that I finished this at 1:16 AM, and wanted to get it out for all the people who have Christmas tomorrow, and so errors are expected. I also know that it is not politically correct to say "Merry Christmas," but I don't really care.

Hey, very merry Christmas to all you folk. I'd just like to share one of my favorite quotes from "A Charlie Brown Christmas". And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the lord shone round about them, and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you this day is born in the City of Bethlehem, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel, a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men. ~Linus Thanks for an awesome year, and I will be looking forward to more great experiences with all you folks in the coming time. Go in peace, IaC

In a few days it's Christmas, and since Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year, I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas! I also realised Christmas and creating are very much alike: they both bring joy, happiness and gifts, so that makes Christmas and Instructables an even better combination. Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Knexmas! From Hiyadudez! It's almost here, Christmas, one of the happiest times of the year. Lets start of by singing a song, made by Logic boy :-) Rudolph, the red-turreted knexsayer had a very shiny turret. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it was awsome. All of the other knex guns used to laugh and call it names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any knex wars. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Mepain came to say: "Rudolph with your Turret so bright, won't you be my primary tonight?" Then all the knex guns loved him as they shot out with glee, Rudolph the red-turreted knexsayer, you'll go down in history! Well, that was completely random... but I bet you are singing it in your head right at this very moment though! Hehe :-) Anyway, I only made this because I was bored, cya!

Hey all, I decided that since so many people were wanting to see my new gun, I'd post it early. Besides, there are so many christmas guns because people were following the trend, that mine would be overlooked. So, take a look, tell me what you think. www.instructables.com/id/TJASTR2-1/ (PS I know this is a bit spammish, but since my last instructable wasn't posted for 4 days, I'm thinking that this might not even come out for christmas.)

Hey guys! Before i say anything else, Merry Christmas! I know I've been quiet, but that's because I've been working on something big. I have a good idea of when it will come out(about jan 3). And here's a tip for you guys. When things get quiet, things start to get crazy(crazy for me anyway lol). If I'm gonna finish this, I'm going to need a little more knex. I think that I am going to make a mag fed rifle that shoots green rods. Pics are handle. Third pic is handle attached to something.

It's that time of year again, whether you be in the cold of Canada or in the sunny beaches of Australia, Christmas Fever is sweeping the nation like an epidemic on steroids. Even if you do not follow the practices of Christmas, you still get that warm feeling that is only attained by a holiday at this time of year. I would like to say, open up your hearts to a fellow man and and do something nice for Christmas, and then post it here if you wish! Whether it be a personalized card or a new Honda Accord with custom paint job for your mate, I, and I am pretty sure I can safely say many others, wish to see it! And I wish to finish here with a more heartfelt note, addressed to every one that reads this: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and every one you know. ~K

I watched it fill with water, then the agitator started moving. After a minute or so, the agitator stopped moving but the motor was still running. I moved the knob to the spin cycle and the washer drained and spun as normal. Wonder if there is some sort of belt that may be wearing out? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hi guys, Obviously i am a member of instructables that is why i am able to post in the forum. I am Nigerian and i live in Nigeria. The reason i am making this post, is because i want to be sure i am not alone. It would be nice if Instructables can create a nationality database, this way people from the same country can connect, relate and partner for projects. But, until then if you are an active instructor from Nigeria, say Hi. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Which 12 volt generator would you recommend to buy on Ebay? Please paste a link. What specific magnets are good for the bike rim, please give me the specific link on ebay. I hope someone has done this, and does know how, I can search.. . I watch so many videos it drives me crazy, I want to replicate, and often the buying details are not included. Hi everyone ! I was looking to make an iOS controlled guitar pedal (using and arduino uno !). First a very simple one, like an overdrive or a distortion, and later something more complex ! Who could help me ? I managed to create the overdrive with this instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/Overdrive-Pedal/ and the distortion with this one https://www.instructables.com/id/Make-an-easy-guitar-distortion-pedal-STEP-BY-STEP/?ALLSTEPS. I don't know how to use one of those pedals and to connect it to an arduino uno and then to be able to change the settings (like being able to change what we can change with the buttons of the pedal) with a very simple iphone app (through wifi or bluetooth, probably with an arduino shield) If anyone could give me a lead ... Thanks for taking the time to read me and for your help ! Merry Christmas !

There doesn't seem to be a contact route to report bugs on the Instructables website. Having encountered a very annoying bug, I searched the Instructables website and found in the Forums "How to Submit Bug Reports" at . That post has a link to take you to where you can report your bugs. That link is . Surprise! That link takes you to .....(drum roll!).... . Which is exactly where you started from. After about six circuits of this merry-go-round without finding a way to actually get wherever bugs are supposed to be reported, I just decided to post this so everyone else can have as much fun as I did. If they want to. I think it's a bug, but since I can't find a way to report it, I'll go home now.

Hi, I've never seen a community so welcoming and intuitive than the instructables community, so I decided this website is the best place to ask my question. I'm sure there is someone hidden deep within the fathoms of instructables that is versed in the matter of magnetic field redirection. I'm working on a project that I will post an 'ible of, (truly wireless speakers ;)) but I need some method of redirecting a magnetic field so it doesn't interfere with the speakers. I have heard of some methods, i.e. Mu metals, MagnetShield, but these are not easy to come by, especially in the UK. I have considered ordering from the manufacturer, but I am not willing to pay the exorbitant shipping costs. I would firstly like to know if such a material exists, or if alternative/better/cheaper methods are available, secondly, whether or not it can be procured in the UK, and if so, where, and thirdly, proper application of such a material. I have done lots of research into the matter, but have been left fruitless. I'm sure someone can help. Merry Christmas, icyseptember

Hi guys, i'm a newbie on here so i would like to take this opportunity to say hello :) i have a salvaged transformer that i'm working on at the mo. It is the primary that is blown, but the secondary is fine. I am in the uk, so it is designed to run on 240. Because i am looking to produce high amps, one solution would be to use the secondary as a primary, otherwise i am looking at doing a full rewind. i'm kinda new to transformers, but have enough knowledge for the job in hand. my question is how many turns does the primary need to have? i know that you cant give me an exact figure without the dimensions of the transformer in question (700w microwave transformer if that helps) but i seem to remember from school physics that there is an equation to work out the number of turns a primary must have at a given voltage, i have googled for days to no avail, i'm guessing it is out there somewhere, but i cant find it :( and the last question is that if the transformer was to have too few turns on the primary, what would happen when it was plugged in? my guess would be that it would short out the mains and the coil would rupture, possibly tripping the circuit breaker? many thanks to anyone who replies :) and merry xmas to all :)

I have a miniature Dauschund hound, Miss Millie, who is 3 years old. This is only my second ever dog, so bare with me please. Like any other wiener dog, she has personality up the wahzoo. Never have I nor my husband ever heard such a vocal canine. she's got spunk! But then I digress, sorry about that. Anywhoos, we run our business here at our house, actually out in the garage and basement. Millie will have nothing to do with either structure /room, so she ends up sleeping a lot inside the house. The last thing we want is for her health or well being to suffer, so alas....my question : When bringing another dog around an established territory of another (especially a Dauschund! Lol) Will the relationship develop better with a female pup or should we become looking for a stud puppy? Any help would be appreciated. My husband wants another girl, but I think it will make things harder for everyone involved. Please just confirm my answer, LOL, and I can be on my merry way. But seriously ,HELP!!

I've been thinking about this as right now the goddamn drunk that came to the door a few hours ago is still rapping on the door, he's a special example because he's caught in this loop, he came asking for someone called steve and wasn't a problem, I sent him on his merry way and he came back in half an hour, oblivious to the fact that we'd had that conversation, he was however agressive this time, he tried to push his way in to the house and got a good smack to the jaw, door closed. He then came back again, in a friendly mood and started the conversation again, I'm now ignoring him - usually they take the hint the first time... Anyway I was wondering if anybody would like to collaborate on an 'ible about dealing with them, see I've had a variety of random interactions with drunks, from where I used to work to random happenings and down and the local, I'd probably be able to persuade my friend who's a barman to add some wisdom, and maybe my mate the security guard who is bored anyway... Anybody interested? If I've missed a life changing and amazing 'ible on such things then it may not be needed but haven't seen one on this subject anyway...
