I have the right cable, I have imovie. When it says to import from camera do I have the tape running at the same time I select that option? Do I need to do more? Is this easy? Is it easy to import to YouTube once it is a DVD or do I do this right from imovie? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I feel like my brain is running on glue today, I just can't think.

Did anyone else notice the flood of extremely bad movies this year? Zombies, Nazi-Zombies, deadly virus that turns people into zombies... And then there are these "creature films".... Sharknado (1 to3 !!!), Three headed shark attack, Sharktopus VS Whalewolf, Lavalantula, Megashark VS Kolossus .... Of course we also have a lot of adventure films in the lord of the ring style... What is it that all these movies have in common? They all take at least 90 minutes from your life LOL Not sure where to start, the bad acting, the boring dialogs, the special effects - some are below high school level. So what is it that makes companies produce such crap? I admit I can quite enjoy a trash movie every now and then, but the level of trash is now higher than anything. Do you think it is the fun of making it that drives the people, desperation to at least make a movie once or what it is? Can't be to satisfiy the people buying those movies ROFL

I'm calling the attention of all the Instructables Team and Community, together with your suggestions and comments, we can make a very beautiful, suspense, breath-taking movie. I know that Macgyver blockbuster film is coming and it has a very big budget. I'm hoping that Steven Spielberg will help us in this regard. Let's make an exciting story. This movie is about invention, innovation, recycle, gadgets, espionage, robots, gizmos, diy, computer whiz, Macgyverism, hacking, satellite, homebrew, offbeat/sneaky/wacky uses of everyday things, problem-solving, strategies, smartness, creativity, etc. Let's start for example with a fourteen-year old boy who is an instructable freak. He unexpectedly witness a crime scene where the "big brothers" (mafia, yakuza, terrorists, NSA, CIA, etc.) are involved. A conspiracy came out to eliminate him. He is now running for his life. His only tools are his "mossad" skills/talents and the "smartest instructables." We can develop further this story by the following steps: 1 - Identify the problems which he will encounter to survive 2 - Select smart solutions from instructables 3 - Integrate and converge those situations in each scene 4 - Choose characters for the movie 5 - Let's make a script 6 - Finalization 7 -Dr. Eric Wilhelm, please contact the Hollywood... Are you with me? List now the links of your favorite instructables that can be used in this movie! And join the forum... http://www.perixgenius.co.cc

I was watching the first part of Generation Kill, its about a group of marines during OIF 1, and I was getting all into it and I noticed an error, a Major error. Well just look at the picture. Normally for a vehicle to go, the engine has to be RUNNING. Tactical vehicles have switches to start them. You have off, run, and start. He has the engine off, but yet the vehicle is making noise and its going down the road. Now i know the vehicle is being pulled by a trailer, and the engine is "off" because if it was "on" it would be a crap load louder and everyone would have to scream at each other just to talk, but come on guys at least rig the knob so that it points up right when driving. What movie errors have you noticed that made you upset?

I had an idea the other night, but no idea of how to go about it. I Want to take two small screens probably about one to two inches big, then mount them on sunglasses and somehow input movie from an HDMI or an HDMI micro. like This: http://www.chinavasion.com/cool-gadgets/60-inch-virtual-video-screen-glasses-for-iphone-ipad-ipod/ but for anything that can output HDMI. i thought about this when i was on the plane and was tired of the people behind me asking to tilt the monitor -.- i have a Thrill 4G that uses a Micro HDMI to HDMI so im sure it would work with my phone and many others if we did it(although users without that HDMI port would need the adapter that makes Mirco USB to HDMI aswell) so basicly.. Android phone to adapter that has HDMI in to a pair of 2" screens to output movie ---------- I ->I ------------------------- ]---------- I Imicro I I Device I IHDMI I I I I ______ }------------------ ---[videodisplay ] --[videodisplay] Android HDMI video sunglass sunglass IN out screen1 screen2

They must fight & avoid ther way through the terrifying & 'paranormal' death traps, enemies & all in order to save London from the horrific nighmare it suffers in the hands of the madness.

Ok, This Idea is either really cool or the dumbest one Ive had yet! What if They made a movie about aliens coming to destroy earth by infecting us with an alien virus that makes us turn into zombies, so the Worlds military makes Super advanced robots to fight them! and because all of the military personnel are fighting aliens The world erupts in mass anarchy and pirates start to sail the sea and attack coastal cities! So chivalrous ninja protect the people from the prates and aliens. But then the Anti-virus the Drug companies makes to stop the virus in the infected mutates and causes certain people to turn into vampires! I think it would be cool but it might also be a bit much! :)

Some close friends of mine are wrapping up their first self made feature length film titled "The Aviation Cocktail" and I have to say what I've seen so far is pretty darn impressive. It's amazing what they've done with the budget they have. The writer/director is the husband of one of my co workers- we've worked together for eleven years so it's really fantastic to see all their hard work finally come to fruition. Dave is an extremely talented individual and it shows in the trailer. The trailer is here- http://www.indiegogo.com/propeller They've set up a website for the film here (no real content yet)- http://www.theaviationcocktail.com/

Hello! I would really love if someone could make me a replica of the robot from the movie Interstellar. My version of the robot can be much more simple. I have no need for a robot that can actually fix a spaceship lol. I would just like for it to be able to walk (in the movie the robot moves several ways - but one way is enough) and talk (only saying four or five phrases). The below link shows the structure pretty well. Can anyone make this happen for me? https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85614

* hello, this is my first post on the forum, so i apologize if my comments are in the wrong place (just redirect me and i'll do what i can to fix it). however, if this is the right place... i snagged some movie posters when the apartment neighbors were moving because it seemed a shame to just trash them. originally, i thought it would be fun to turn them into envelopes of various sizes. when i tried it out however, they were not very durable. i tried using the search engine for the site, but only came up w/ ways to MAKE posters or put posters on furniture. i'm wondering if there is something small that i can make OUT OF these posters that is relatively simple. the posters themselves are probably of little value due to having tac holes or tape rips. any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. i'd like to make something i can send to others as i have no use for even more stuff in my life. thank you again! *

Me and my friends are making a movie. I want to make or buy a pistol which looks a lot like a beretta M9 for very cheap. I'd rather not make it out of cardboard, those guns take a lot of skill to make it look remotely realistic. And I don't have access to wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently looking towards making something like weapons, armors, etc., specifically those with origins from movies, cartoons, video games, etc. Other than the ones everyone does such as Halo, Iron Man, knight armor, etc. what other armor, weapons, or accessories are a must-make or just plain awesome? Think along the lines of something like the Batman gauntlet, except from movies (or something) that are old but still remembered and cool. Also thinking of a long term project of a chiken-walker mech costume, exoskeleton costume (NOT Iron Man), or AT-RT. What do you think?

Hi, I am wondering how people make animations that are smooth, because in the stop motion animation, things always come out choppy for me. Do you have to take an amazing amount of photos, than speed the play back time up, or do people use a program that fills in the gaps? THIS IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO.(CLICK THIS) The video is just passed the little intro. Any help and info would be great! :D Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am the art director on a very low-budget but so-far amazing movie. I want to make an inexpensive but professional looking model of an observatory. So far, I am thinking of using sculpey. Can anyone please help with some leads? I know I could put this together, but instructables, websites, or comments about materials or construction would help immensely. This website is full of resourceful people. Thanks!

In the movie his mask is basically a black visor and the lower half is all one piece of black matte plastic, but it's formed to the face with lip detail and everything. Is there a relatively easy way I could replicate this effect without getting into the big long process of making a mold of my own face and then forming plastic to it? No rush or anything, just thought it might make a fun project.

Hello, I'm a film maker and I am currently running Mac system which I can't get along with. I have Final Cut Express and Paint (creating 2D images for background, not animation) as my only film making tools. It's not enough so I decided I'm going to make a PC that would specialize in film making, and maybe feature one touch screen out of the two allowing me to do animation. Basically I want to know what programs I would need to get for serious film making. I'm thinking an editing system that would work well with special effects and maybe on for just cutting and moving clips (if the other program doesn't do that well) I also want a 2D animation system thats simple (don't go crazy) but I'm taking care of the 3D myself (suggestions will be considered) Any ideas?

My iPhone records video in .MOV format, which is only quicktime supported. This means I can't edit it using Windows Movie maker or play it in Windows media player, however it says there is a codec available for it. However, google hasn't gotten me any good results. Is there really any way to play these types of videos in WMP for free?

I am going to be filming an action film soon and I need to some explosives to use in some shots. Anybody know how to make some? I can get pottasum and all that stuff I just don't know how to make it. I also need an electric fuse so it can be set off manually not by having to wait. So if any one knows how to make that too. I was going to use black powder but wondered if there is a better way. It will be covered with dirt to make a dirt explosion not all fiery.

So I am actually a bit surprised that there is no instructable on how to make a hidden wall safe. More or less I am wanting to build a hidden shelf area akin to that of a hidden wall safe. IE: you have a picture on the wall that moves in some way to reveal the hidden space behind it. Just wondering why no one has done it before? So 100 points to who can guess what my next project is :-P

I was watching The Italian Job last night, and was fascinated by the 3D renderings of the buildings. So, my question is, what software do they use to do that? It seems like it just converts the video that they take into measurements and then creates the image. Is this even a real software, or did they just make it up for fun?
