Myths and Truths of the 3D Printing

Yesterday I readed a very interesting article on wired.com, named "An Insider’s View of the Myths and Truths of the 3-D Printing ‘Phenomenon’", by Carl Bass, CEO of Autodesk. "But Mario!" - you (one of the only four persons who read my forum topics) will say - "What happened to you? It was supposed you were one of us, one of the last sexy hammer-in-hand/sweat-in-the-forehead makers, who build everything with bolts and nuts and screwdrivers, Yes, it's a little bit annoying that 99% of your projects are vibrobots, planters and cyborgs. But at least, you only used the computer for checking your e-mail and looking for stuff that would horrify your mother. Now you only talk about 3D printers and CAD and support material. YOU SOLD YOUR SOUL THE TIME YOU DOWNLOADED 123D DESIGN!". And my answer is "... maaaayyyybe. Can you repeat the question? No hablo inglés". But this is a cool article that demystifies a lot of ideas we have about 3D printing. Thanks to the media, we think everything will be 3D printed, the handtools will become museum pieces and metallurgy and craftsmanship will have the same fate of the alchemy. Or we think 3D printers are magical boxes that immediately fulfill all of our design desires, no matter how dark they are (Do you want to become a criminal and lead a rebellion? SHAZAM! Homemade one-shot 3D printed non-always-exploding guns for everyone!). Ok, enough blablabla. Read the article. It was written for somebody who knows. And believe it or not, Carl Bass is another "hammer-in-hand/sweat-in-the-forehead" maker. Enjoy! http://www.wired.com/opinion/2013/05/an-insiders-view-of-the-hype-and-realities-of-3-d-printing/

If you die in a dream, do you really die? Answered

My friends and I are attempting to lucid dream. I don't wanna die and I'm sure my friends don't wanna die and I've heard mixed things. So is it Myth or Fact? UPDATE: Thanks for all the answers guys!  I just realized how dumb of a question it was after reading a post that said Even if someone died in a dream and actually died they wouldn't live to tell the tale. Again thanks for the answers! A_Person.

DO YOU HAVE SOME MYTHS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE MYTHBUSTERS TO TEST

Do you know some myth that the mythbusters haven't already test. Describe the myth and we will debate it whether it is possible or not.

KWR1 V.1 + "The More Bands, the Better" Myth

The KWR1 (K’NEX War Ready gun #1 Version #1) V.1 came out of my idea to build an entirely “mod-able” slingshot sniper weapon that you could rely upon in any outdoor K’NEX war (hence the name). You could make this gun longer; you could make this gun shorter. You could add a nonadjustable stock; you could make the stock longer, you can do practically anything to this gun (other than change the mechanism and the handle position).   Features: Good range: 60 ft. (1 band) – 100 ft. (5 bands, 45 degree angle) Can shoot: Oodammo (1 band: 60 ft.), Large K’NEX wheel (5 bands: 30 ft.), Small K’NEX wheel (5 bands: over 80 ft.), Lego bricks (5 bands: 50 ft.), NERF darts (5 bands: 50 ft.), and size #117 bands as a RBG (30 – 40 ft.) 10 point adjustable stock (see pictures 8 -11) with “Stock lock” (see pictures 13 - 15, 17) Totally customizable Safety (see pictures 15 - 16) Cheek rest (see picture 9) Not too piece consuming   Now, with all of that out of the way, I want to talk about ammo sizes and the “the more bands, the better” myth. So to do that, let’s look at the stats (shooting with three size #117 bands):   Red Connecter Ammunition: No rod attached: 62 ft. Green rod attached: 55 ft. 4 in. White rod attached (oodammo): 42 ft. Blue rod attached: 35 ft. 5 in. Yellow rod attached: 40 - 45 ft. Red rod attached: (got caught in the bands) Grey rod attached: (got caught in the bands)   Grey Connecter Ammunition: No rod attached: 64 ft. 9 in. Green rod attached: 59ft. 4 in. White rod attached: 50 ft. Blue rod attached: (got caught in bands) Yellow rod attached: 40 ft. Red rod attached: (got caught in bands) Grey rod attached: (got caught in bands) As you can see, the larger the round got, the lower the range you would receive. I think that this is a direct proof that bigger bullets are not necessarily good ammunition. For example, the ZKAR uses yellow rods? Might it get better range if it shot blue rods? Now, admittedly, the instances may be different with different guns, but I highly doubt it.   Conclusion: Stick with ammo sizes between blue rods and white rods (including both the blue rod and the white rod).     Now I want to talk a little about the “the more bands, the better” myth.   I took the KWR1 out to my backyard, grabbed some oodammo (growing in our garden, mind you), and commenced shooting from a prone position. Then I got this idea… what if I was to shoot with only 1 band, and not all 5? So I started to do that, leaving the bullets where the fell after having been shot. Then I decided to go back to shooting with 5 bands, to see how much better the range would be. So I fired a couple rounds… and got no better range than I did when I shot with only 1 band. I did this a couple more times, and found it to be true.   There is a myth (myth = a traditional story) pervading instructables that you will always get better range with more bands. Now, it is my personal opinion that if a gun can’t get 50 ft. with two bands, it’s no good, but that is irrelevant.   Conclusion: More bands does not necessarily mean better range.     Now, I am not stating these subjects as fact, for that would seem arrogant and presumptuous, but I do believe they are, to some extent, true.   -The Red Book of Westmarch

I just put this up on the Mythbuster's site......

I just posted the following over there, so hopefully a method can be devised to test this safely: (1999) A US Navy safety publication describes injuries incurred while doing don'ts. One page described the fate of a sailor playing with a multimeter in an unauthorized manner. He was curious about the resistance level of the human body. He had a Simpson 260 multimeter, a small unit powered by a 9-volt battery. That may not seem powerful enough to be dangerous… but it can be deadly in the wrong hands. The sailor took a probe in each hand to measure his bodily resistance from thumb to thumb. But the probes had sharp tips, and in his excitement he pressed his thumbs hard enough against the probes to break the skin. Once the salty conducting fluid known as blood was available, the current from the multimeter traveled right across the sailor's heart, disrupting the electrical regulation of his heartbeat. He died before he could record his Ohms.

How (not) to improve eyesight

We seem to be getting a rash of Instructables claiming to be able to improve eyesight through simple exercises. Please, people, can these stop? The methods were quackery in 1920, and have been thoroughly refuted numerous times since (for example in 1956 and 2004 ), yet, like holistics, pyramid power, magnetic bracelets and a host of other quackeries, they still do the rounds and fool people into falling for them. Please, people, do a little research before posting supposedly medical treatments.

Will a Prune Juice Laxative help with my constipation or is it just a myth?

A lot of people are aware that the health of our digestive tracks or particularly the large intestine commonly known as colon have adverse effects on the health of our whole body, not only physical health but also mental health. When our colon is unhealthy or diseased and full of toxins, this toxins enters our bloodstream through the process of intoxication. When our bloodstream becomes dirty it also affects the brain. Commonly we experience mood swing. Another tangible effect of this unhealthy condition called constipation or the hardening of stool due to inadequate digestion or lack of it. With this said, you may wonder what are my best herbal and natural remedy for cleansing the inside of my body and avoid if not irradicate this condition of constipation? One very good natural remedy is eating of Prunes. A Prune is a variety of plums. Prune juice is made by steaming prunes until it is softened and pureeing then juice is squeezed out. Prune juice contain a natural laxative known as isatin. Prune juice is high in insoluble fiber. Each prune fruit contains 6% of dietary fiber. Prune juice is good remedy for constipation. It is also high in anti oxidant. Visit http://www.colonnews.com/colon-cleansers/will-prune-juice-laxative-help-my-constipation-or-it-just-myth.html for more info

Ancient technologies revisited - Ley Lines and Magic

Ley lines are a pure mythical thing, they do not exist, they do nothing. That is what science tells us....Myths and legends however always have a tiny bit of truth and honesty in them...No wonder then that we have detailed maps of these Ley Lines available, even your favourite search engine can find then for you. Many cities were build not just along these lines but directly onlo crossings or NODES of this invisble and non-existing grid.Quite an awful lot of them have names that got translated into more modern languages but never actually changed their original meaning. In almost all cases a reference to the stars or one particualr one or some constallation.Science and mainstream history says it is coincidence....No matter where you look in ancient texts the powerful cities were always located on the most powerful parts of the Ley Line grid. And funny enough it only took us a few hundred years to come with enough science to actually confirm that these lines actually DO EXIST.But finally admitting they are real because we can measure something is slightly different in these locations does not help to bring magic back into our world.Or did the magic actually never really leave? We hear about wonders that are impossible, like people being healed from all sorts of uncurable stuff by visiting certain places that are claimed to have healing powers. Is it really a surprise that almost all of the known places we have access to are located on a Ley Line node? The modern human can't except magic. In ancient times religion took care of magic, sometimes with brute force.Later science made sure that magic is forgotten and turned into just a myth. Now the base of magic is suddenly included in science, so the only logical conclusion must be that magic is back! But where is it?If I use a fancy looking "stick" to point at a truck and make it float through the air it would not a big deal."Oh look, what a great magician he is!" and the crowd applause pleases me...They wouldn't care how the trick worked, they just know it was some sort of trickery. And if the trick indeed would be real then some scientist would jump in to for an autopsy of my body and whatever I had with me....But if I would have done something similar 30.000 years ago I would have been declared a god....Humans always seek to find an explanation for things we fail to understand. And the more we study ancient texts with our modern eyes wide open we more similarities we find. The first archeologists to see and study Maya relics had no clue about planes, so obviously they interpreted models of them as something entirely different. This and many other misconceptions were carried on throughout time till today. Those who dare to look again and question what we "know" about ancient cultures for so long are silenced....Most end up to be labeled "Alien believer"...And we still fail to accept aliens or visitors from our own future into mainstream science...If Ley Lines exist it confirms that they must provide access to some sort of energy we no longer remember how to use.Ancient texts often speak about things we would today call a vortex.Be it as a doorway, something that does incredible things or just divides the red sea...Although totally out of magic science explored in theory how energy from a higher plane or continuum would manifest for us if they enter what we can see and experience. The conclusion is that it had to be in spiral or to be precise in all three dimensions vortex like style. It is partly based on facts we can already clearly obersver when one type of energy creates different one.Like a hurricane created by the difference in air temperatures becomes self suffient and stronger although the available energy to power it appears to be way too small....And of course our modern, linear math won't allow us to fully calculate what is really happening in a tornado...A technological gimmick to access the power of the ley lines might be just something tiny, like a resonator...We can't hear our favourite radio station if our tuner does not resonate at the same frequency...Our wireless chargin won't work at all if the sending and receiving coils are not properly matched to operate at common frequencies...The available energy would not only be basically limitless but also clean with no pollution, no waste products....So why we did we forget how to use ley lines? It was religion...They exist, they have powers and energies we have yet to understand. But do we at least have any theories were their power comes from?It can't be the stars as the ley lines are fixed structures, they do not move with the starts their nodes often represent. It can't be the ground or natural formations around either as there is nothing we can detect to be different. But we could try to accept a totally different theory about the center of our earth.Science tells us we a hard crust, then some molten rock and finally a liquid metal core that is somehow spinning and creating our magnetic field....Great story but sadly based on just linear math and our current theories of things we can't actually reach to explore.Funyy then how the greed of humatiy comes to the rescue...Diamonds are expnsive, especially those rare, pure and special ones.Several mines getting diamonds from very deep down in our mantle found strange things in some diamonds.Water....Ok, not water as we know it but the same building blocks. It was only confirmed to be water because when these "impurites" were analysed science already created this type of water.Part of a great science project theroy turned reality. With enough heat and pressure water changes the state of matter, it becomes ice.To be precise ICE7.It is a bit like a very energy plasma constantly being recycled. And it has magnetic properties in its crystalline structure but also on a sub atomic level in its plasma form. How would such a reaction be possible?Gravity of course. If you have water without gravity afeecting it you get a perfect sphere. With enough water your "drop" creates its own gravit by its mass.Add more and more more water and gravity will compress what is at the center.Keep adding and you create a minature sun running a cold fusion process with just hydrogen and oxygen. The natural forces of your movement around the sun and what is manipulated by the moons gavitational impact keeps the up the required motion for the fusion process.Ice7 could not exist in molten lava core with a spinning metal ball at the center. But molten lava under our tectonic plates and their movement is not problem at all if their mass is nothing but "floating debris" covering a huge cold fusion reactor.Compression by gravity and a "water" core create enough friction to melt rocks. We use the same priciple in friction welding in our industry...Unce the firction is great enough the to be welded metals melt and theep meltig until the rotation suddenly stops and all goes solid again as one single piece. The ley lines might be nothing more then emissions from our cold fusion reactor, like directed radio waves if you like to make it too simple. But ley lines are on the ground so the entire therory of Ice7 and cold fusion is just crap!?Science does not give up that easy and confirmed they are actually extending all the way into space.Satellites were able to measure the tiny variations when crossing ley lines and especially nodes where multiple lines intersect. The race to find what might be required to access the "magical" powers of our ley lines started ages ago.The only thing that has changed is the approach and who organises this search. One conclusion that was made again and again is that we will only be able to understand ancient technology once we understand what role the ley lines really play in what myths calls magic. To get a grasp how simple yet complex this understanding is we can go to the great pyramid in Aegypt.Build on a stron Leyline node and confirmed to be oriented by certain stars. You can look all the details about this up on your favourite search engine.Quite intersting once you realise the great precision and drive to aligne everything so perfectly.Even more when you realise the pyramid is also orientated properly on the ley lines. There are only a very few places on our planet that allow for the alignemnt of both stars and ley lines - they all have pyramids there with remarkably similar features or constructions to creat calendars and time keeping based on the movement of the sun and various planets. Some of these old cultrues even tracked the axial shift of our planet to have a warning system for a reversal of our magnetic field...But the great pyramid of Giza has nothing to actually track stars...Then why are all the "tunnels" to the "burial chambers" pointing prescisely at certain starts, including one in the Orion belt that even a decent telescope struggles to make visible? The same stars mentioned again and again throughout all ancient cultures....Some say the pyramids have powers, others say they were gigantic power plants, some they they were devices to accurately track the stars and to make sure whoever has the final resting place there will be able to reach and see his home planet. What if all of this has a true backgorund we yet fail to understand and explore?A now quite famous couple observing vulcanic activity around the globe managed to get quite precise prediction on not just when and where a vulcano is at risk to blow but also how severe the eruption might be.How is such an impossible "magical" prediction possible you ask?No magic, just pure science. The gravitational pull on our planet is not just affected by the moon, it just our biggest influencer in the game.Every planet out there in our soloar system creates gravity. And they all move around "randomly".If the aligned however things change dramatically. In the worst case all our planets between earth and sun are in one perfect line whle the rest of them is in a prefect line on the opposite side of the sun - the gravitational pull on planet earth is at max.Of course it is at the lowest when the inner planets are behind the sun and the outer planets behind earth.Thes seintists track this movement to predict in conjunction with the position of earth if a vulcanic active region would be subject to increased gravitational pull.Theory is it would cause and increase in magma pressure and movement. And the theory shows to be correct time and time again. Now try to imagine this:All the stars that have perfectly aligned channels in the great pyramid align with these tunnels AND all our solar planets align just right as well.If science is correct then around the time the pyramids were build this alignment was true.Get your calculator to check when the same conditions happen again and you might get a big surprise when realising the day is not that far away...Only too bad that we neither have the outer lining of the pyramid nor what was really inside these chambers at the time they were finished.Keep in mind that in most cases the pharao died long AFTER the pyramid for him was finished. We could wonder the same about many old cities in the UK, Europe and especiall Italy. No one denies that Rome was build in just seven days ;) or that it is build on a very secific point on the ley lines.Only few though know that the perfect spot on the lay lines is occocied by the center of the Vatican.Don't know about you....But if the pyramids are said to have had great powers when the time was right then what powers might the Vatican reveal when its alignment to its stars are perfect?Go ahead, start from england and follow the ley line all the way to rome.Take the names of some of the vital cities along the line and make the reference to the star or constellation they were named after.Like for the pyramid, these "bread crumbs" will tell you when the time for Rome is perfect.See what great historical events happen during past alignments and wonder what might happen during the next ;)And suddenly we get the feeling that magic is nothing but a boost of knowledge and technology handed to select few people.Only the most prestigious and "decorated" members of the church are allowed to access the secrect libraries of the Vatican.Even fewer are allowed to actually study them....And all of these few are "fluent" in many ancient languages.....So if GOD would ever return it would be in Rome and there would be people able to at least understand his written language and speak a few works in the old tongue.Imagine though another "god" would visit earlier in a religious location that aligns earlier? The race to be the first is already on whether we like to admit it or not.Only question is which god will be first and what magic will he bring us this time?Ley lines are as real as the cities and monuments build exactly and precisely on them. Some of them are older than humanity as know in from our books.Do some exploration of the ley lines nodes close to you.Listen to the myths and legends of the area, visits the places you hear about and try to see them with open eyes and a free mind.Dive into the past to find out where the origins of the stories and myths you found might lead you.Nature is all around and includes ley lines, we only have to allow to see and understand to imagine what might have been and what might be again.Magic is nothing but energy and technology observed by someone who does not know these things.Let a cave man watch Seinfeld and see what he draws on his cave wall once you and the TV are gone ;)

"Sonic" drilling or cutting

If we look up sonic drills today we usually get some fancy machines driving pipes in the ground, preferably softer ground. But the term includes all types of machines that use sonic vibrations to advance through a media. With the ancient and claimed to have never existed technologies in mind I did some digging...In the food industry vibrating knifes are quite common, same for "air knifes" on softer food.Even in the meat industry they find more and more uses now.Ultrasonic cutting or welding is the same thing and included in "sonic".Same for some experimental sub sonic drilling methods currently being tested. The general idea might be as old as using vibrating equippment to compact stuff, like concrete, bricks and so on.What you can compact by vibration you can also make "fluid" by vibration.Industrial feeder systems utilise this to the extreme by even making light and fine particles like flour move like water without causing any dusting. What all the techniques have in common that a suitable tool or tool head is used and that it is attempted to use the most suitable vibration frequency for the job.Anyone operating an ultrasonic welder knows the pain of finetuning for a new electrode or just new part to be welded. What does that tell us now that makes the understanding easier?Take a bottle of ketchup, preferably one that is still quite full.Turn it upside down and noothing comes out.Shake it a bit and you are either lucky or drowned in red.But hold it at an angle and start tapping it and the red sauce flows out easily. What it true for most newtonian fluids is in some way also true for non-newtonian fluids.Ever mixed corn starch and water to make these funny experiments with it?Hit it hard and it reacts really hard and is not sticky at all.Leave your hand resting on it and in sinks in and sticks to it.Stirring it very slowly is easy, go faster and you get stuck. You can do similar things with by using an external source for vibrations. For example a vibration speaker mounted to a smal cup of the goo.If you place sand on a sloped piece of plastic or sheet metal then at a low angle it will pile up easy and stay.Start vibrating the plate and the sand will start to flow off.Works fine with a vibration source mounted to a piece of steel bar or rod and a bucket of sand too.Trying to press it into the sand requires a lot of force, especially once you are a bit deeper.Let it vibrate properly and it slides rights down.If we can do the simple stuff as well as really complicated stuff in the industry then what about other materials? So far we use vibrations to make things move out of the way, compact things, transport them or to heat them up for welding plus some cutting applications.Considering the variety one might wonder why no one tries it for "difficult" materials.Machined surface can be found throughout ancient history.Finding "machined things" were vibrations was clearly used is a bit harder. The great walls are not a perfect example here as the views differ quite a bit on how they could have been created. But if we leave things melting them or a secret concret like recipe for creating for example granite then vibrations start to make some sense. You find some interesting videos on youtube where people use speakers, wires and rocks to confirm you can actually "machine" them by vibrations.Especially granite has some quite musical properties, big boulders as well as smaller ones produce destinct sounds when you hit them hard.Tests and measurements were made on granite and other hard rocks to check how fast sound travels in them , how it is refeclted and where the sound comes out or affects the surface the most.Lets just say every sample gave different results.Shape, density and dimensions affect not just the resonant frequency but also where and how the sound travels in the rock. What if??We can use a simple speaker, a plate and some rice to see how patterns form under various frequencies.Works with sand or other granules as well. The interesting patterns are the so called harmoncis. Here we see clear and destinct patters, sometimes with extremely fine lines and areas of softly vibrating granules. Some people say these harmonic frequencies have all special meanings and uses.We mainly used them to avoid problems.Imagine your new TV would not have a housing tested to be stable with all frequencies the speakers can produce. All of a sudden your back of the TV might start to rattle ;)Same for car engines.Harmonic vibrations are eliminated wherever possible.Otherwise they could multiply and affect other things in the engine or around it.Simply put it means we have various options to detect and measure vibrations on a surface or in a system.Back in the day every half decent backup generator had a mechanical indicator for the frequency of the supplied electricity.A set of tiny forks with the desired on painted red and several on either side of it.These forks were designed to get into harmonic and therfor quite intense vibrations at their set frequency. If the one for 50Hz looked blurry then all was good ;)The same principle god be applied on a big boulder of granite.Place the "vibration meter" at the desired spot and start moving around the vibration source on the surface until you find a spot that causes maximum response on the meter.Best thing here is that if you then place that surface area onto another peice of fixed in place granite both pieces will start to loose substance if vibrations are applied. The fine sediment forming is then usable as an indicator where to move the vibration source to continue once the effect literally wears off.Is it feasable?Well, if we trust mainstream science then the answer is no.A huge amount of vibration energy would be required for such a hard material, despite ancient proof that says otherwise.Semi industrial test also seemed to confirm the theory as only with very high amplitudes (loudness) and while automatically adjusting for the resonant frequency changes a measurable amount of material was removed.I struggle a bit with that as for the testing tool heads made from hardened steel or carbide were used. And that with little or no regards on how the head and tool itself affects the output.I mean in terms of having the max possible movement happening right t the tool contact surface! There is a huge difference between applying a vibration to a tool and using a system, tool and tool head DESIGNED to work at the desired frequency!Otherwise we wouldn't need a computer to design and test a horn for welding purposes or shade a knife spefically so that the vibration go along the right axis and in the right direction. You not break a hard thing with a very soft thing unless it travels fast enough to become harder as the target! This complicated explanation basically just confirms that if you hit water at a too high speed then it will just break you into pieces instead of offering a soft splashPlease do not jump of bridges or such to confirm this yourself!!If that is really true and science says it is, then how about the other way around?Works fine too, or we wouldn't have pressure washers or water cutters. Now for the part where I hope some really smart people leave helpful comments:If we can cut steel with just a stream of water, then I ask:Isn't for example copper much harder than water?Steel is much harder than copper but water cuts through it.The answer here it simple or complicated, depending on how you want to expain how it works.Comes down to speed and pressure plus the right nozzle shape to prevent a beam expansion. But then water is indeed "harder than steel".Questions:Lets say we would use a copper pipe that in lenght, thickness, hardness and diameter is optimised to transmit a frequency so the pipe end sees the max vibration like a feed horn for ultrasonic welding. Not to hard to calculate these days :)Now imagine said "main frequency" would be optimised for the pipe but also be a harmonic frequency of the rock to be worked on.The pipe end would deform quickly, abrasion does the rest and it fails before even making a decent sratch that is not copper metal on granite. No matter how hard we press nothing good enough will ever happen.BUT: If we would add more hormainc frequencies to feed our pipe we can multiply the amplitude quite easy!Just try with a sound generator from your app store, needs 2 or more channels to be usable.Pick for example 400hZ on one and 800Hz on another, then finetune around these number to hear how the tone changes ;)My theory goes like this:If all "working frequencies" would just harmonics of the resonant frequency of the granite, then they can be tuned so the effect on the pipe end is minimised. The overlaying frequencies however should result in the same effect a water cutter has: The pipe becomes ultra hard. The better the match and the more you have to get it right the harder the pipe will be.Adding now a "drilling frequency" or multiple could be used to drive these harmonics slightly out of phase.Like with the sound generator on your phone we end up with a pulsating sound, or vibration. While the pipe still vibrates at the same "hardening" mix the drilling frequency creates a peak like a jackhammer.Try it by using the heaphone output on a small speaker and placing some light and tiny things into the cone. The will violently jump around during these pulsing tones. For a drilling system the output can be mechanically maximised by utilising a pitchfork design.A head holds the vibration speakers and the tynes are tuned good enough to the frequency of the speakers.Always two would have to operate in sync though as otherwise the pitchfork movement that transfers the sound down the center bar won't work. This head could then be desgined to act as a holder for a quick change of work out pipes that are no longer long enough for tuning.I guesstimate that a well tuned design would result in a copper pipe being able to drill at least 10 to 15cm into solid granite before it wears off too much. And we are talking here about just a few mm to get the thing out of tune! But would dare to desing such a thing just to confirm a theory that no one ever really dared to test? ;)And if friction welding works as good as ultrasonic welding, then what would happen if we try this with the right frequencies and vibrations instead of wasting tons of energy?

Where can I buy blueprint paper?

I am looking for blueprint paper, the kind that is just solid blue, no lines or graphs. Like the kind they use on Myth Busters.

Does the magnet motor really work and keep spinning?

See it as a last hurray before the forum here disappears ;)For ages we have people claiming that they managed to build a working magnet motor.Basically not even a perpetual motion engine but something with enough energy output to spare. As soon as they surfaced to make it all public the vanished. Most say they only vanished because it was just another fraud as those things simply can't work - physiscs won't allow it.If that was really always the case then why did some of these people AND their families disappear after till publishing details and being active in their communities?Either way: If there is a will then there is a backseat - or so they said in the 70's ;)People are still willing to fall for every foolish plan they can find on the net, waste their money and find out that, well, it just won't work.If you dig long and deep enough though you get a glimpse of what really is possible without violating our laws of physics. And yes, done and applied properly even a magnet motor is possible. The do's and don'ts of trying to build a magnet motor:Once you got hooked you have to start somewhere.Usually some V-gate or similar that ALMOST worked for you already.Anyway, you will have to encounter the appearently only reason why these motors won't work rather quickly. It seems impossible to provide accelleration without having at least point in the cycle where the binding can't be overcome through inertia or mechanical trickery. So the first thing you really need to learn is to forget what you already know!Treat magnets like a think you never knew at all, something rare and very special.Don't use your schoolbook knowldege or what you learnt at university - only use what you discover yourself!!!Make your conclusions no matter how wrong they seem - you will find out soon enough if something was flawed.I, for example, "wasted" endless hours when there was nothing on TV.Just some good music running and playing around with my magnets.Adding metal strips, filing them down, seeing how they react at different angles and distances to each other.Once you are at the stage of getting over this last bit of forces that ruins it all you need to learn how to think totally out of the box!You can't see the magnetic field lines, can't really use magntic viewer foils on the running thing - you have to try things!Take 5 magnets and create and array with a very strong pole on one side and a very weak on the other - realise that the manetic field lines don't care whether or not they go back to their own magnet!See for yourself how strips of metel from some old transformer core will provide a pathway for those field lines.See for yourself where the "threshold" is from just "shielding" a part of the magnet to "re-shaping" the field itself.See for yourself how a magnet that you bring close to one pole also affects the opposite pole of the "attacked" magnet ;)And did I already say you should try to forget what you think you know until you could actually check it and all possible variations yourself? ;)Butter on the toast....For mostly the reason to keep it shorter I just assume you tried to build something based on the classic V-gate motor and that you found this topic somehow...For other motors most of what comes now still aplies in one way or another though.Binding:I speak of binding if a motor has one or more points during a full cycle where it gets stuck. Not just a bit of attraction, enough to ruin the entire motion. There are two forms of binding forces that I identified as important.1. Opposite poles.2. Equal poles.Just means your binding is either caused by too much attraction to move further or that the next (set of) magnet(s) repells too much.Either is bad ;)Redirected forces:It is a bit impossible to only provide a force in the exactly needed direction. For example when it is more displacement forces driving the wheel - going more sideways than in a true rotional motion.Means nothing more than that a lot of potential energy is literally wasted.Shielding:You can't shoild magnetic fields!I still use the term to indicate that I am "wasting" a part of the magetic field - I don't want this bit to interfere with operations.Flux directing:Or fluxing...I use this whenever I want to affect the shape or reach of a magnets field.E.g.: by adding a rod to "extend" one pole or by providing a "shunt" strip between two magnets.A way to get field lines where they are needed most.So much for the basic terms that might pop up from now on ;)Before you can worry about lost energy from redirected forces you need to overcome your binding points. This is only possible through shielding and flux directing!Of course it also includes the possibe use of arrays to create a field with a specific shape.Let me try with some classic examples you might have faced already:Where your V changes from wide to slim you always get stuck, so you did it again by using two V's in line.Hoping that you could use what one V has in excess to overcome the binding on the ther side.Nice thinking only you forgot that your max power output is about half way through the V ;)So you realised this and added two more V's on your roll with a 120° phase shift.Does much better now but still prefers to bind no matter what you try.So what went wrong? The approach did ;)You compensated for a binding force by wasting what you have in rotational energy - to say it simple. You might have tried some mechanical lifting and flipping as well to get closer but never close enough. Our first array....By now you realised that the junction between wide open and really narrow ruins your motor.Check where the thing stops without the next magnets in line. Then check the opposite arrangement and see where the next bit would stop the thing. This is your binding area.Mark this area. Now test where your machine creates the most pull or push to get it going.Do this by finding the strongest starting point.Mark this again. Now take a look at your markings! You will see a angular relation.E.g.: You max push/pull is 50° away from your max binding point. This angle defines how many parallel V-gates you need on your drum. You want then arranged so that whenever you have a max binding point you also have a max push/pull point at the same time. This is you basic V-Gate array allowing you compensate for a lot just by using a better design.Or second array....We now need a way to compensate at least a little bit of the binding forces by redirecting and shielding some field lines. If you like fairy floss then grab some ;)We face the problem that we use a displacemnt force to keep things rolling.Fairy floss on a stick can help to visualise ;)Grab two sticks so their stick end comes out either side of your fist.Do the same with the other hand.Having two colors helps as well and gives it some flavour.Try to align those double cones so they create areas where their forces would cancel ech other out.Meaninf for example when one north pole is close enough to another south pole to create a flattened field. You realise soon that angles are not really that relevant here, only distance ;)You can cheat by adding some (smaller but strong) magnets in little arrays between the closed and open ends of your V.Keep the distances from the previous power tests in mind though!!!For example if the closed end would just keep pushing with little binding due to having a long magnet bar on top then you focus on providing a path where the adverse push from the open V is mostly compensated.Or third array...We need some balance in the system now, so why not use magnets for the weights ;)You want to place them so they increase the push/pull forces!Helps to have a big collection of various sizes and shapes....Please also consider strips or bars of silicicium rich steel (transformer cores) to brigde from one magnet to another to get a good balanced system or just adding short pieces on the underside of magnets.Ok, where are we now?We have a phase shifted array of 3 to 6 V-gates.We have it properly balanced and still use these long mangets as the driving bars on top - or even multiple if you have more than one V per array part. And that thing is causing all our binding issues.....Common solution is now to just lift the offending bar up or to increase the distance until it can provide force again that we need.Unless you are already an artsist for building you own little steam engines froms cratch it is the worst possible approach.Creates too much friction, uses to much energy! We think we are almost there.....We can't waste ANY energy until we figured out how to get more than enough of it.A mechanical gear system is far from perfect but offers precision.A simple push rod solution works well too if properly balanced and the mechanics allow for a smooth operation.I leave it up to your what you prefer. We can't just change the lenght of our magnet bar but we can cheat - a lot.One good option to check for yourself how a magnet if a fixed rotational thingy reacts when you spin a magnet close by.Even with really good bearings you will realise the binding forces between them are not equal if you keep the same distance while rotating. Now re-think your engine desing - I know it hurst if ou realise now your magnet arrangement wasn't ideal.Do you have a north-south bar on top of a V with one row of magnets facing north and the other facing south?Really I am sorry if you do but it is not all lost unless you glued your magnets in place as a permanent solution. You can leave it if you wish but it might be harder to apply the required cheats - there is ways if you look good ;)Why a V-gate where both rows of magnets are orientated the same way?It is just easier and more flexible as you then can focus on the driving bar(s) ;)Let me explain the difference as I see it:With a fixed north and south pole on your bar you seem to be able to use "more" of the magnets. And it seems to be the logical way at a first glance. But now that you learned and discovered so much yourself already, ask yourself:Does it really matter if there a north and south pole available on the bar?Wouldn't two rows of north facing magnets with matching magnets on the bar to the same things? They would....And in such an arrangement we have almost endless ways to "cheat" physics as we know it.Especially if you have two V's per drum and have one facing north and the other south ;)For the standard single V the trick is to rotate the "magnet bar" in a controlled way so when the binding forces of the V are max the forces the bar can apply are minimised. You can see that nicely if you manually rotated the wheel and watch how the bar reacts to the field. At some points it wants to push, at others pull and at still others it would love to just flick over - use this behaviour in your rotating mechanism! You want to keep the max possible forces for the longest possible time and keep the flicking over time in sync with the drum rotation.Look up on the many ways to do a flipping motion by mechanical means to see how you can best implent one into a rotary action. If you were a really good observer during your experiments you now realise that you start to also deal with friction and mechanical losses and counteracting forces. We can not reduce all of them to zero by simple cheats and mechanical solutions.Whenever we try we must do this in the most efficient way possible - even if it means cheating on our own constructions.Remember playing with the magnets to see how they react at various distances to each other and ferrous metals? ;)There is a fine line between too much and too little ;)Try for yourself on your whell with a simple bar mechanism that allow distance adjustment.Do you really get mor "driving" force the closer you get with the bar? ;)Where is the point between effective force and you needing too much force to keep the bar at this distance? ;)Do you notice how the distance affects the forces in your binding areas? ;)Cheating the cheat ;)Now that we have to find the opimal distance for our bar to avoid changing this ones as well on a constant base during the rotation, we should see how to make this the least energy wasting. You need some sort of counter balance for your mechanics and it would be nice to somehow affect our bar magnets so we don't need to much mechanical energy to make them rotated and flick over. Why not use a drum around them ? ;)When you need a reduced force you can have a metal (ferrous of course) roatate in place. As a drum you would just cut out the parts you don't need and add weight where needed to compensate the imbalance in the mechanical system.Like for example having the most "shielding" metal between bar and drum when the binding forces would be max.Hence the need for correct distance to prevent unwanted binding forces from the drum parts ;)You can even influence the width of your magnetic bar to some extend this way ;)If done properly you now wasted a few weeks in your shed and have a motor that still is only very close to keep running forever once you gave it a little push.Let's say you did a really bad job.Means you still have one or more destinct binding points left.In this case I suggest you focus on them after finding out if they are mechanical or magnetic in origin. If you did a half decent job then your machine should be able to start running from multiple points in the rotation. But not in some others.Perfect would be two equally sized areas per revolution where it seems the thing would just need to be started a few degrees later to overcome the power loss.If you reached the max point and going a few degrees more again start to reduce the power output you are good to go.What exactly haapend so far, assuming all is still well in your shed?We tricked our system in various ways to actually utilise the push/pull forces our motor provides. And we learned what to do and how to do it so we overvome almost everything.Just to finally fail like all those idiots on the net before - or did we??? ;)Isn't there something really vital we missed in our construction while we cheated so much? There is but I can't blame you if you have not picked it up much earlier in your construction. We rotate our magnet bar now to compensate for the binding effect by mecahnical means.Ever wondered if we could more rotation and changing orientations in our V?The magnets won't mind too much if they are put in with north and south alternating as long as you rotate the bar correspondingly.Just instead of one spin or flip during max binding you do it for every single magnet in the row.... ;)The shielding drum though operates as normal with this.Bit complicated, lots of mechanical design involved - I know!!!And for what exactly???To use what have not even touched yet - electrical energy produced by our now alternating drum ;)I know :( Now you are whacking your head against the wall like I did so many years ago, sorry for that experience! But would it mean that coils will cause additional losses and binding forces?Of course it does, that's why it is so much fun trying to cheat physics! This approach is usually just neglected due to the ill thinking that a magnet motor would provide free energy for everyone.Simple fact is that no matter how good you are it will be impossible to get more than a magnetic machine that almost works forever - you won't be able to compensate for all losses and utilise them as energy unless you either have multiple high degrees or spend a lot of time in your shed - a lot...Since a full rebuild is now due anyway I leave it up to you to figure out how desgin it, I just throw in some "ideas" here:We only use the outside of our magnetic drum, this needs to change. And before you go into a mechanical frency to figure how to place inner magnets that rotate with the drum to compensate for dead zones: Just don't! You will get a headache and waste too much time.We can use all those inwards facing magnets to our advantage though.A lot of the arrays, if not all, could be replaced by creating a rotor to hold the magnets. Not in the traditional sense though but to guide the field lines to a common center. There is a need for a rather wide distance between the magnets so you can provide a ferrous pathway that won't just fully shortcut the fields. It needs to be enough so that a coil array placed on the inside will be subjected to changing fields- north south...I leave it up to to decide if a low resistance or ahigher output voltage is the better option.Either way we are able to produce some electrical energy as long as the drum rotates. But we only need extra energy for those ares where the system does not produce extra energy and in fact eats all our energy up.One way would be to store the electrical energy in a nice supercapacitor and to use it for some electromagnet that is placed in the right spot and activates at the right time. And yes it works.Far better though is to utilise resonance. We aim for a fully harmonic system so we can actually try to figure out where and if there is a way to produce more neergy that what we feed into it.Perpetual motion means a system produces enough energy to sustain motion. If motion is sustained AFTER getting to a certain speed by other means it is perpetual from then on.We have the impossible if a machine produces more energy than what is required for the motion AND if we can utilise this power.Sadly we have no means to utilise friction energy....So a machine that sustains motion would already be in what is called "over unity" !?In a sense yes, but not in a usable as it will discredit you quickly.A resonant electrical system is able to handle way more energy with way less resistance - or losses. Now to give you the final homework lesson and risk being watched again:What do you think happens if a resonant LC system has a set of rotating magnets at a matching speed? ;)Right! It won't be able to stay in sync because we still have this firction and "binding" problem on our hands.....What does that mean in reality though? The spacing of the rotor is critical, that is clear already,And our electrical system is never fully in sync with our drum, clear again. But it is still a resonant system, totally unclear, now I lost you ;)See it as two independent frequencies, one defined by rotor spacing and our desired operational speed, the other what results from our losses and running slightly behind.Imagine you would finetune the LC system to actually match the frequency that results from the losses....Suddenly it is not longer tuned to a theoretical speed but to the real speed. And due the the now full resonace the phase shift now is able to provide extra push for our system ;)Explains nicely why basically all magnet motor machines that claimed to work and disappeared only worked at a fixed speed ;)What are the final conclusions here then - is it really possible to do the impossible?I say it depends on your time, workshop and willingness to think out of the box.Impossible, certainly not.In case you came to the same impossible conclusion after neglecting your family and friends for weeks you now wonder how much more might be possible than just keeping it going for almost forever. For this you need to understand and basically feel how magnetic field lines interact and react, including electromagnetic fields.A magnetic field is a form of energy. We usually created this by putting an awful lot of energy into coild during the manufacturing process. And like a battery magnets lose their energy over the time, especially in bad conditions.Still we treat this energy as unusable because we can't seen to be able to utilise static fields at all.If neither the coil, nor the magnet moves there is no change in field and with that no electricity.Does that mean though the megnetic energy does not go through the coil? ;)Nope, it is still there, going nowhere.Otherwise we would not need power plants and just use earth's magnetic field instead. Now to drive your brain into true overdrive for the final:Did you ever watch these nice videos where a great physics teacher of the old kind shows how (AC) electromagnetic field work?Or maybe you had one of those in school?Remember how a metal cylinder placed ner a tall electromagnet starts spinning?Often used to explain the righthand rule ;)The cylinder spins due to the eddy currents created - like the disk did in your old school electrical meter in the fuse box.And doesn't our drum now support a changing magnetic field on the inside while it rotates? What do you think happens to "drums" placed off center and close to those magnets? You think they would spin? And, if made from aluminium or copper, wouldn't the field lines stillpass through and reach the electrical coil(s) ;)Couldn't you utilise the drum motion during the times of not enough spin? ;)Considering they are basically short cut inductors: Couldn't you use a "coil" that still spins while producing electricity? ;)Once you can answer this with confidence you will know how to build a magnet motor able to produce excess energy.I am not saying it is easy to include all this knowledge into a simple and basic design. But I do say that one you understand the relation between static permanent magnetic fields and electromagnetic ones you are a winner.I'll give you one final hint:Every electrical current or electromagnetic field near enough to a permanent magnet will influence its field! You only need to decide where the electrical energy is used to influence permanent magnets is a positive way without using more than what the system is able to provide. Then, and only then, will you motor to be able to start (with no load) from any position and keep gaining speed until resonance is reached. The amount of energy you can draw once this speed is reached is only defined by how much it drives the system out of resonance.Once the load is greater than what the system can sustain the speed slows, resonance is lost, efficiency down the drain.A good motor of desktop size is able to provide about 100W of extra electrical energy. And no it still isn't over unity or perpetual at all!The magnets deplete and they do it surprisingly fast in a working magnet motor. You are lucky get 6 months of continious use before one or more magnets get too weak. And if you check how much electrical energy was used to give these magnets their abilities you realise that even two years of usage wouldn't make up for it.Still nice to have a machine that runs for a few years with no load attached or that powers some fan, lamp, whatever for a few weeks without batteries or fuel.

How could one make merperson-like elbow pieces? Answered

In many myths mermaids and mermen, sea people, nymphs river lords and ladies, and ocean gods and godesses have fin-like flaps of skin on their elbows to help them move through the water. If anyone knows how to make this or where to buy it, please tell.

Complaint

Okay, this isn't a complaint about instructables, but a group in instructables. I've noticed that the myth busters group is adding every single instructable that is featured in the weekend builder, and others that have nothing to do with them but the person is using to get page views. I know it's not directly against the rules but could you tell them to stop? It makes them look like they actually had something to do with it...

Bungie Bag O' Swag

Hey guys, So, if you're as big a fan of Halo as me, you'd find that Bungie has a special Bag O' Swag on sale, for their 20th anniversary, and leaving Halo. They have anything from a Tshirt to a Zune to signed games to high-quality figures. There are only 777 in existence. AND I FRIGGEN GOT ONE! OH YEAH! What was the most interesting thing, though, was that people were staying up all day and night, trying to get one, and they didn't come close. I managed to get one by sitting at the computer for TWO AND A HALF HOURS, and my dad's bank account just got billed(also, Amazon, says it's being "processed for shipment") So, did anyone else get one?

Milk Crates - not as green as you think

I know milk crates are a really sturdy container and popular for a lot of "green" projects. The problem is that they're stolen.  They belong to the dairy whose name is printed on the sides.  Dairies reuse these crates.  They don't discard them, contrary to popular belief. Reusing them would be green if they were discarded.  Sadly, dairies must keep replacing their stolen milk crates.  That means more resources used.  The milk crates outside stores aren't being thrown away; they're awaiting pickup from the dairy driver. Even damaged crates belong to the dairies.  They send them to be repaired and continue to use them. http://www.gotmilkcrates.com/myths-and-misuse.html

HHO powered car

One of my friends asked for my help for a project for his school expo. He wants to run a car on water and I have told him not to be too optimistic. when I googled it all I found was that it was not possible(as of now), but no other detail. I did stumble upon an old episode of myth busters in which they came to the conclusion that a car can run on hydrogen, but they were unable to provide enough hydrogen from their electrolysis setup, however, I noticed that the HHO generator created by king of random produces way more gas then theirs. so I wanted to know your opinion and knowledge on this matter and whether this can work or not.

Help the Mythbusters!

The Mythbusters want you! From MAKE:Blog:Because it's been so popular with our viewers, this will be our third attempt at a story called Archimedes Death Ray. The myth is that the Roman army defended themselves from invading Greek ships by lining the shores with 300 soldiers. But these soldiers did not use conventional warfare. By using their mirrored shields to focus the sun's rays at the invading ships they could, the myth alleges, set the invading ships on fire and save the city.WHAT WE NEED300- 350 Volunteers to operate mirrors for the one day of experiment (engineering and science backgrounds preferred)VOLUNTEERSWe would require volunteers to be 18 years or older and to Pre-register with us prior to the experiment date by email. All volunteers would be required to sign a Participant Release/Liability waiver.Experiment will take place in September (date still to be determined).Volunteers will need to be available from 9am to 7pm and would have to bring their own lunch and transport themselves to the location (similar to going to an outdoor concert). Possible locations include the Greek Theater, Oyster Point Marina or Alameda NAS.We'll supply volunteers with a MythBusters T-shirt, a signed autograph card and possibly a group photo with Jamie and Adam.HOW TO GET INVOLVEDSend and email to: myths_volunteers@beyond.com.auPlease provide Full Name, Age and Contact InformationPlease write [*MythBusters - Death Ray*] in the subject header.MythBusters will then follow up and contact them with more details verysoon.Anyone in the Bay area fancy it? Could be fun, but also very dull, standing still with a mirror and all.I'd say it's worth it for the TV factor, meeting the Mythbusters and the free T-Shirt.I envy you Bay-dwellers...

Plasma Arc Waste Disposal

I was watching the local news earlier... and they started talking about a new waste plant being built in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Basically, they vaporize the trash and sewage sludge under a vacuum, and use the by product gases as fuel for the plant and power turbines. Steam is going to power a local juice plant. Solid by product (rocks and such) can be used for construction etc.On top of that, the by product gas - when burned - is cleaner than burning natural gas or garbage. Even if you think climate change is a myth, I think you can appreciate cleaner air to breath :P This plant is going to eat up the local landfills too :)I just thought it was pretty cool. This is the first plant in the United States and the third in the world (other two are in Japan and are much smaller).Comments?

I would like to make an assault boat like what the SEAL's use but I'm on a tight budget... duct tape? ... any ideas? Answered

My title kind of explains it but I would like to make an Assault Raft like what the SEAL's use. To buy one runs about 200 grand... ridiculous if you ask me but that's the way it is... I have been thinking of using duct tape and PVC, kinda following the Myth Busters template. Awesome episode I just saw! Anyways, if anyone in the Vancouver, WA area who would like to help is welcome to... other than that I could just use some help on the brainstorming. THANKS!

Viking Ship, Village or Helmet?

I've recently been allocated a project for school that needs to be done by the 28th February. The task is to either build a model viking ship, any size, any material or to build a viking outfit. Chances are, the entire out fit is impossible so I'm probably aloud to make a detailed helmet, with chain mail & leather cap underneath, or some other item of clothing. The last option is to build a model Viking town, it's aloud to be done on the computer as a 3d format, but I have no idea how to do this, any suggestions? I'm personally stuck on what to choose to make, or how to build it., what does every one else think? Remember, I'm going for a good mark here, but I also have the incapability to get things done amazingly quick. Cheers everyone, ~K (P.S. No horns for the helmet, although it's a popular myth it's supposedly not true in the history books.)

Mythbusters! New never before seen clips! (Banned from Discovery)

Hi,Here are a few clips most of you have probably never seen before. They are banned from discovery and never actually aired on tv. They aren't even on the mythbusters site. So here for your enjoyment 2 never before seen Myths. Missing flatus experiments (Lighting Farts, Do pretty Girls Fart :) Just a quick note. There are two versions of mythbusters. One with a British announcer and one with a stupid American announcer> I hate the American announcer. He sounds so stupid. In general British people sound smarter than Americans in my opinion. I think that Americans think British sound smarter because Americans are only exposed to the only the smarter smaller percentage of the British. Why do you think British people sound smarter than Americans and what do you think of this great hidden clips. Thanks

Help needed to create a mask for a film project!

EDITED WITH WORKING LINKS Hi, I'm a university student in my final year studying film.  For my final project I'm doing a kind of modern take on the Theseus & the Minotaur myth. I looked around the web a bit and I found  this really awesome mask that could be used for  the Minotaur but I don't really know where to begin when it comes to making it. http://www.showstudio.com/projects/beast/gallery/lg/003.jpg I need help with everything in general - what materials might be best, how to construct it and stuff like that. Alternatively, I was thinking of going for something more along this route maybe - http://d-pi.com/dtv/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/fortisframed03-462x625.jpg This would probably be easier - I'd start with a gas mask, I'd just need advice when it comes to creating the mane. Any other ideas are welcome too. Thanks a lot for any help.

could we actually travel through space?

OK, earlier today i was watching sci fi science on-demand and it was the episode where he discussed hitting mars with several astroids and i thought of something: what if instead of using a normal rocket, why not use the only thing that we know of that is more powerful than a nuclear reaction? anti-matter! no, it is not a myth, CERN has been harvesting the stuff for decades, yet all they have is about 10 pounds or so. most likely less. in theory, we could make a two compartment chamber with an air lock between the two chambers, and in each chamber put a few particles of a natural substance and its anti- substance in the separate chambers with a remote module to open the airlock separating the chambers while we are several hundred miles away, with two possible, reasonable theories:1)the chamber skyrockets through the atmosphere and into the great unknown of the skies and stars 2) we create a new grand canyon in the middle of nowhere, harvest the profits of the tourist attraction and try again until we get it right, if we fail 2) then we have several hundred grand canyons!(whew!!!!!!!!!!)

Can a photo finish image produce a false result in a race or other circumstance?

Whether a 100m dash, a cycling race, or boats, cars or motorcycles going in excess of 200mph many times these close finishes are determined by high speed photo finish cameras or even less accurate low speed digital video. My question relates primarily to alignment of the camera in relation to the finish line but also other variable such as the surface of the finish line which could be either crowned or banked. Racers crossing over the line a few mm above another just because they are on either side of the centerline of the racing surface. Water finishes produce even more variables. Using a simple bike race where bunch sprint finishes are common with speeds approaching 40+mph I would place a bank of 9 (or 3) cameras on opposite sides of the finish line. Each camera should in theory produce a slightly different image of the finish with variable determinations of outcomes and results based on the resulting images. How would a judge or anyone determine the "correct" image and true result having only the digital picture? Second - of the photo finish images I have seen it seems the finish line is rather subjective? Is the actual finish on or more frames before or after the determined finish? If photo finish and photos in general admissable in court (myth???) how often is the perpective of the camera being judged considered? i.e. Someone who is significantly off the perpendicular snaps a photo producing an image that is quite different from another person's who is at a different angle in relation to the finish. Thank you!

Ancient technologies revisted - The Moon

It was always up there in our sky.It inspired artists, song writers and created some of our greatest myths including werewolf stories. But is the moon really just some old rock giving us tides and a more stable weather?NASA tells us the moon is a hollow metal sphere.Astronauts reported Foo fighters and all sorts of optical objects that no radar would detect. To say WHAT the moon is would be controversial is an understatement but the facts are out there and are being accepted more and more by mainstream scientists. When I was a kid you would have not found any scientist taking seismic reading from the moon as prove that it is hollow.Today it is a widely accepted fact as we can not produce ANY evidence that the moon is not hollow. All this however only spans a few decades of exploring and slowly accepting facts for what they are.We still struggle to accept that ancient myths and writings as well as evedince written in stone is real evidence.Mythical creatures, gods and such come from the mind of people not knowing technolgy as we do today. They got depicted often as interpretations of the real thing. Some native tribe member from the Brasilian jungle would today not be able to make a drawing or even model of a helicopter that few over his head.It would look like anything but a helicopter and shows what was really visible with a lot of details lost, especially if it was flying a bit high.So let us assume just for the fun that these ancient texts and images really show us advanced technologies seem with the eyes of a underdeveloped (technical) brain. After all, we are happy to accept a lot of other things from the same texts without even questioning.A surprising amount of ancient myths and legends speak about the time before time.Or in more modern words, the time of creation. It is always a reference to when for those "reporting" self awareness and existence started. Some scholars though say it only the time when we learned to form our spoken words into a meaningful written language. This statement becomes painfully obvious when you explore cultures that never developed a written language in ancient times.Like the natives in Australia and namy native tribes in America. Many scholar these days consider that the ancient people only developed a written language as a requirement. But not as a requirement like we might think. You can teach one person something or give the person instructions. This becomes much more efficient if you can write it down and the other person can read it.It also revent mistakes and misinterpretations. It is the number one thing allowing us advance technological. Those cultures only adapting to a written and "documented" language long after their peak provide us a story that is shared throughout ancient cultures around our globe. We can hear the same from the mebers of those tribes that still have no written language of their own today. Some of them even started to see the importance and became authors and wrote books about the dreamtime and how their people and our world came into existence. In those older than ancient stories we hear about a time of great suffering and ongoing harship to survive. As long as thier stories go back it was like that.Put into modern context and stiched together from around the world:We had hurricanes on impossible power destroying crops and dwellings but the big cities always surived them.We had winters cold enough to freeze a glass of water in minutes. It was a hard existence and survival was everything.Whenever it got too hard though the people from the big cities offered help and shelter. Our struggle with this is already that during those time humanity neither knew how to build solid stone house now had a brain capable to design a complex city.Either way the powerful people from those cities decided one day that enough is enough and provided weather and climates to allow humanity to evolve.Once pure survival no longer requires 24/7 attention you find time for other things...Then what was it these ancient and unknow city dwellers did to fix our weather and climate? If you trust stories that were told from generation to generation for millenia then they placed a huge disk in the sky emitting enough light during the night so peole could see what is going on without needed a burning torch...The simple people back then were scared and thought their end is coming because this disk made everything so much worse.Huge earthquakes, tsunamies going hundreds of kilometers into the land, vulcanic eruption lasting for months on end.Decades of cold and miserable weather from all the dust and smoke in the air.But those powerfull people promised it will end soon and that the disk will bring stability and prosperity to humans. And when it finally happened and our world was the beautiful blue planet we know today the powerful people left - often together with their cities.Left to go back to their even bigger cities in the skies and amoung the stars. This huge disk was much much later named moon....A nice story, trust me I know....But we like to say that every story, every myth and every legend has a true fact here and there.Often overstated, or simplified but still there...The more we learn about ancient text, the more we actually understand why making sure these stories survive throughout time - the more we learn that they more truth in them than we dare to admit. How important would some historial fact for us today be so that we would try to preserve this knowledge for the thausands of year yet to come?We don't even have this concept :(So try understand how important, how valuable the core of a story must be that it really surived for thausands of years???!!!You could make a much greater story about how you invented the wheel and clock or how building dams allowed your culture to feed everyone through advances in farming. All those facts got lost, only the people from the skies and the disk up there remained important...Can we really be selfish enough to just ignore this fact and state it is impossible and never really happened? The storeis place the moon into our sky at around 100-250.000 years B.C....That is if ignore one tiny detail, but I get to that soon.Science provided us with real answers and fully debunked all the mathy about the moon being placed. When it was supposed to happen our geological structure was already subject to the gravitational forces of the moon. And thusands of years earlier the samples show exactly the same, so we can stop this nonsense of the the moon being artificial, hollow or even created and placed by someone.Or can we?Thing about these ancient stories is that they tell what was happening those "before", the ones providing help and guidance "now".Unthinkable, turst me again, I really know :(But as science states over and over again: Only fact we can see and explore speak the full truth. We found parts of the truth during the German space program and got scared enough to stop.Is it our advance in technology, defence and offense that gives the confidence to go back again now? Some say yes, other say it is a necessacity to go back.If we look who holds the power and who had and still has the control about most vital info deemed to be nothing for the public we have to wonder...It is a bit like a Star Trek comedy."Look! We united, we make a team efford, we are ready!"In reality though we just a bunch of cowards playing dirty games with each other. No one really wants to be just a part of it, they all just want to be first and stay in control.Coincidence? Hardly...What would be the possible implications of all this?Even if we could ignore ancient stories about the time before time we can't ignore basic facts.A hollow moon would indeed mean that just rock is not enough to give it enough mass.Would also mean it simply can't be coincidence that it has no rotation despite all we know about planets and moons clearly stating otherwise.Excluding even this problem we still struggle. No matter if there is rotation or not, the "millions" of years of space debris of quite large size would have left real evidence up there. But we find no real mountains, no really solid rock in or around the craters. And the damn things, despite this, seems to be so hard that no impact can create a deep crater....So of course we found some discarded scientists who started to count and cataloguise all these impacts. Thanks to NASA providing highly detailed images and orbital scans an almost easy task.First goal was to figure out or at least properly guess how much mass these hits added to the moon. Most of them would have been some icy mix with rock, only a tiny amount with mostly metal at the core.Since the moon still has some sort of working gravity despite being hollow a calcuable amount of debris would have settled on the moon and not that much would go back into space. Also some of what escaped would not have escaped orbit and the moon collected it over the years with its gravitational pull. The scientists struggled at one point when they found a weird problem. Not a single crater seems to have been caused by something hitting the moon at an angle. No one up there to clean up and no atmosphere either...Statistically speaking it is next to impossible that every rock that ever hit the moon came at a dead 90° to the area it would hit...Anyway, they ignored that tiny conundrum and moved on.We have a good idea how deep the craters are and how high the rings around them are.Everyone can agree that a crater can't be bottomless, because, well, it is covered by debris and rather flat. This flatness everywhere on the moon suggests that something "solid" must be under it - at a certain distance from the surface. With a margin of error in the region of just 17% the debris from whatever was hitting the moon to create the craters matches the thickness we would need to cover a solid sphere....Coincidence I know but still interesting to know...So when we can finally admit what the moon really is and how exactly it got up there we know for sure that we modern humans were not there first people roaming the planet....Does not mean that aliens were here or that they still are, just give a different perspective on our evolution and how the earth evolved. And we can just change what everyone takes for granted...But wouldn't it be nice when in a few years some astronaut calls home and says "Hey we fund a hatch under the dust!" ?What would we say then to ignore what we already know?

The best car ad ever made

A family member sent me this ad that was posted on craigslist, while it was the most explicit ad I've ever seen, I'd prefer this over any normal ad. Enjoy those who feel comfortable reading this. DISCLAIMER:  I bleeped (****) out any explicit words...... Though I could have missed s-something.  And explicit's definition is different between people Side note: If anyone thinks this is a tad (or more than a tad) over the top, PM me or reply saying so. I'll delete it. - - - If you think you'll be offended by this ad... DON'T READ IT.  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - POS 1994 Honda Civic LX for sale - $600 (Marietta, GA) Date: 2010-07-11, 4:49PM EDT Reply to: sale-63pgj-1837513434@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] That's right, you can own a piece of shi... history right now for only $600. You may wonder why I didn't post a picture and that's because with a car this crappy, a photo is not needed. Just imagine the worst possible car and then picture a camel taking a dump in the trunk and you'll have a close approximation. You don't need to worry about me lying... it really is a POS. There is no risk of you getting over here and finding out it's really a gorgeous gem worth thousands... that doesn't happen...ever. But if for some reason that's actually happened to you, then you are acquainted with a crazy cosmic karma that has never thought to even piss in my face. I almost had a date on PlentyofFish and you know what happened? The f***ing AC died. For two years while I was not dating, it worked fine. The day after I get digits, the AC craps out. The car also has a weird hesitation problem that was not fixed even when I replaced the fuel filter. What could cause all of these things? Satan in the drive train...that's right... it's rare, but it happens to guys like me. This car is actually demon-possessed so you can forget about any sort of easy fix. Jesus said you need faith to cast out demons like this and believe me there are only two people on the planet that have that sort of faith. One guy lives in a cave in India and the other guy is dead. And you can forget about the guy in the cave helping you because, if you can find him, he's just going to tell you how physical setbacks are really spiritual blessings...blah blah blah...yada yada yada. Exactly. Don't expect sympathy from any motherf***er that sits around in his underwear in a cave. Other problems with this car include busted boots on the tie-rod ends, busted wheel hub boots, broken AC, leaking power steering system, ABS light always on, check-engine light comes on occasionally, driver window sometimes comes off the track, paint has permanent dirt in it (yes, it's f***ing permanent...you can't scrub it out with anything less than sandpaper or some highly explosive chemical that causes cancer in 49 states and erectile dysfunction in the 50th.) The car does drive, but that's about all it's good for. Good luck getting it to pass emissions. I've never tried as it's still registered in Clarke County. If you want to date, this car is probably not for you. On a positive note though, I can assure you no one has ever had sex in it. It would take a miracle to get a girl to even sit in this car, much less take her clothes off in it. Other possible uses for this car included entertainment at frat parties. You could charge people $5 a swing with a baseball bat, although you still probably wouldn't recover your investment. You might be able to sell it to the Mythbusters and get the to test the myth, "Is it possible that a car could really be this s***ty?" Adam Savage and Kari Byron will have a field day and close it off with "Myth f***ing confirmed" and a side comment from Kari about how whatever d*****bag use to own it must have never been laid. There are some positives like a beautiful Lumar 32% tint job, keyless entry with remote trunk release, an Alpine CD Player, and Pioneer speakers in the door. So at worst, you can sit in your driveway and listen to music with a bottle of Jergens and a picture of Eliza Dushku. I really wouldn't recommend taking it on the road until you replace the tie-rod ends. You might crash into a bus full of nuns and then the Pope will reign motherf***ing hail fire down on your betrodden a** with more fury than the inquisition because you actually decided to drive and be seen in such an amazing POS, killing 20 of his lovely Sisters. One other thing you might use this car would be pushing it off a cliff. If you've ever wanted to see what it's like first hand for a car to fall hundreds of feet and smash against rock, then here's your chance. Although don't be surprised if this demon-possessed sleigh from hell manages to f*** up your good time even in that bold scenario. I don't know how it would, but it would probably figure out a way. If there are any parents out there reading this, don't let your children fall into the situation I'm in. I would never have ended up with this car if I had pursued a real career. But instead I majored in math where the best job I can find now is up in Portland with a bunch of bran muffin eating hippies, jerking off Moose for 75 cents a smile for some wildlife conservation sperm bank. Let your kids do something with good with their future, like wait tables at Denny's. Oh yeah... it's white, 4 doors, and automatic. Whooptie-f***in-do!

Ancient technologies revisited - The ark of the covenant

Not just for christianity is the ark something really special. Many of the old cultures meantion it - often in contexts that is mentioned in the bible at all.Unless it can be found all there is are theories and wild speculations. So for this round I will make it quite short and just sum up some of the highlights - in terms of technology. The ark is said to contain the two stone plates with the ten commandments.A nice story to get the godly touch into the bible context. If they are or were really in there then just as stone plates with some carvings on them. The real power of or in the ark is said to be of technological nature. Many cultures mention that the ark was responsible for impossible things or that it was involved when great disasters or great rescues happened.Like the crubling of the walls of Jericho.Horns might work for resonance effects but an earthquake at that time would be more likely. The blowing of the horns could have been the signal to activate the ark....The ark is said to have both great powers and great dangers. This seems to be confirmed by all these old stories were people that were not allowed to opened the ark.Same for those who were subjected to the arks destructive powers. If you check the old pictures and read the old reports you can help it and say "radiation poisoning!".One ancient text states it was a gift by the gods and who would need its power would have to first study it to confirm his worthyness.Anyone not accepted by the ark and attempting to open or use it would cause death and destruction. But it also states that whoever is granted all the wisdom of the ark will be able to re-create the tools of the gods and that he will be given the knowledge how to use them. Some could now go ahead and collect all relevant stuff from these old texts, pictures and myths. Then that someone you try to translate what was seen through the eyes of an "underveloped" human into terms of our modern age.Thankfully this was attempted several times already :)The theory I like best is based on the assumption that some higher beings or aliens left us the ark to guide our development.A bit like the reverse version of pandora's box.The theory is quite complex and specific in many areas with references to historic events and more.So before I reveal their conclusion I will give you an example of why so far everyone decided the ark can not fall into the wrong hands. If you would have a really nice and accurate rifle that never needs reloading or and special care and maintenance you would have an impossible thing for our times already. But someone from our time would find plenty of good and peaceful uses.Like living alone ina remote area and using it for hunting. Now imagine you would go back in time and hand such a rifle with instructions on how build it to someone like Genghis Khan.....Anyway, the conclusion from my favourite theory about the ark goes like this:It a combination of supercomputer, fusion reactor and matter converter all in one box.Science fiction fans might prefer the translation to a replicator with computer interface that allows you to create things from the 24th century - with a complete knowledge base on top...No surprise then that it was hidden their their last known owners in a location impossible to reach.Where is it?I leave finding it up to you but you will be able to use your favourite search engine to find many stories, films and documents about the location. It is claimed that when the second world war was basically done the ark was transported over the atlantic.A small island in Nova Scotia was long thought to hold the ark, the holy grail, the lost treasures of pirates and more.A more modern approach than trying to dig or drill tunnels to get to a seemlingly bottomless hole was to use cameras and sensors. Was not just for fun though as the constant flooding of the vertical shaft by up to three horizontal shafts made other things impossible.Diving was out due to the seperatin levels every few meters. The videos and sonar scans revealed nothing special, just what was already found at higher levels.Every now and then the sensors would drop out, same for the cameras. In some cases the totally failed and never worked again.More sensore were introduced to the hole.Samples taken when the water was rising in the shaft showed elevated ionisation effectscompared to the surrounding sea water.Other sensors detected high frequency RF emissions in short bursts.Nothing seemed to offer any conclusions about the causes, so samples from seperating wood structures were taken again but from the deepest level the probes could reach.Again the tests showed nothing to indicate why the water samples were so different or where the RF could be created.and just o be sure another carbon dating was performed on the samples.Older sample from much higher levels already confirmed age and materials used so it would not hurt. The tests had to be done several times with more sample pieces as the initial results were "incunclusive".They still are inconclusive! What does that mean in terms of carbon dating? It means that a sample return values that either can't be right or that two pieces taken from a bigger piece give different results. The got both for all samples taken from the deep....Some of the wood was dated to be just a few hundred years old, others from the same chunk close to 3000 years old and some section even had a negative age as if they came from the future.A tree grows naturally so no matter hwn you test a sample of it in the far future all samples will give you the same result. With no clues the scientist gave the results and test reports to a great variets of specialists in their field for consideration to explain how this carbon dating result could be possible.Several theories came back to our researchers...The dating analyses the decay rate of the C14 atom in all matter containing carbon. The decay rate however can change if the atom is or was subjected to more or less intense radiation or to high energy fields. As only low levels of radiation were detected by sensors this would exclude alpha, beta and gamma radiation. If all other options are exhausted than the impossible must be true.A higher, currently unknown or unspecifed form of energy is responsible. And depending on the operating principle and what we so far know about it in theory, a cold fusion reactor with failing or damaged shielding is a prime candidate. The conclusion of the researcher was the this hole must contain the ark and that it is indeed powered by a highly advanced type of reactor that we only manage to theorise about but we can't (yet) build one.Reasing behind is the theory that decades of tidal movement caused the lower parts of the shaft to collapse or that heavy debris made it through the flood channels during storms and hurricanes. What is the problem with this theory?Well, if the ark would really be at the bottom of this shaft than it would mean the researcher were right about who traveled over there to hide it.And that would implicate those in command of this guy actually possesed the ark - which would be unthinkable. But then again they followed and examined every story, myth and ancient text in relation to the ark and wasted enormous sums on expeditions to explore their locations.Worse still: It would mean those in charge of the ark knew they had lost despite its power - most likely due to a lack of time to understand its real functions? And if you would have the support of higher beings and still hide it in a place no one can access ever again it could mean you know "the others" shall never get to it either - unless they as well get the guidance of the gods.Isn't it then good to know in todays times that we won't be able to figure out what really is down this hole?If it is not the ark down there what is the next best theory for this hole?Considering the location and stories of those old tribes of the area there was no water in the times before time.Meaning in the far distant past it was a mountain top and the ocean was miles below it.What now seems to be some elaborate water trap might as well be the ventilation shaft of a city or industrial complex far below todays sea levels. And if some technology down there survived the times something might have failed and allowed it to be flooded. At least partially.Either way it is all just theory until someone made it to to bottom....

Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death - Fix Your Console Today and Enjoy Gaming Again Without Fear of Freezing

Since the Xbox 360's introduction in November, 2005, a significant quantity of Microsoft's game consoles have experienced a field malfunction that is indicated by three flashing red lights on the front of the console. It's The Xbox 360' Red Ring Of Death or E74 error. The "Red Ring of Death" is a very common problem. In July 2008, Microsoft admitted that over 800,000 people are dealing with it and 30% of all consoles sold are failing and the rest have a chance of failure. With an Xbox which suffer from the red ring of death, you will not be able to play games with peace of mind or any enjoyment and you can't use Xbox live membership without constantly dropping from online games, and losing level progress.Owning a broken $400 game system is annoying. If you don't fix the red ring of death, your system will only get worse with time, and your Xbox may stop working altogether (which will cost you in the hundreds of dollars to fix). The sooner you fix red ring of death the better, but first you should know what is wrong with your Xbox 360?The main cause of the 3 flashing red lights is overheating. In fact, it is an electrical connection failure between the CPU,GPU and the motherboard.due to an engineering flaw in the construction of the Xbox 360. When Microsoft designed it, they downsized the heat sinks ( which keep the system cool ) to accommodate the DVD drive, and they chose a slightly unusual way of mounting to link them to the processors. So when you play on your Xbox for too long, the temperature reaches beyond 120 degree, the motherboard heats up and begins to vibrate and flex against the X-Clamp plastic support . These vibrations loosen the soldering holding the graphics processing unit in place. This causes an electrical failure and the Xbox red ring of death error will happen.** How do we fix this ? **There is a myth going around that to fix the red ring of death errors by wrapping your Xbox 360 in a towel, turning it on for 20 minutes or so, and letting it overheat . BE CAREFUL !!! If you use this bogus repair method, you will risk turning a temporary problem into a permanent damage. This crazy method works for a few hours because when you wrap your console and turn it on, there is no ventilation for the heat to escape. It's like putting vegetable oil in your cars gas tank, sure it may run for a block but you have just ruined you car for a 2 minute trip! Your Xbox 360 is a piece of high tech equipment not a toaster, avoid completely the "towel fix" and any "fix" involving heat.** Is there a secure permanent fix for this ? **Of course, believe it or not fixing the Xbox red ring of death is not a difficult process and you don't need advanced technical skills or special tools to perform the "fix" yourself, I suggest you see a professional Xbox 360 repair guide with detailed clear video instuctions and pictures. These guides are developed by technicians with good knowledge and many years of experiences in the electronics and video game repair industry. They will show you step by step how to take your Xbox 360 apart safely, how to remove the X-clamp and heat sink, how to apply the washers and artic thermal compound, and put it all back together. There is also written instructions with the videos and the 24/7 tech support can assist you to save time and money and get your Xbox 360 up and running within 2 hoursThose Xbox red ring of death errors will be a distant memory and now you can enjoy gaming again without fear of freezing.Be careful there are some repair guides in the market which are a total scam .Here is an EASY step by step Xbox 360 repair guide so you can permanently fix your Xbox 360's 3 red light of death errors!Xbox 360 Red Light Fix Pro Gamer Edition : The Only Xbox 360 Repair Guide with Professional High Definition Video Tutorials, With In Action Camera Zooms , Fix in Less Time than it Takes to Mail Xbox 360 to Microsoft, Use Ordinary Household Tools ,Real Human, Knowledgeable Customer Support , No Special Skills Needed, Guaranteed Fix or Money Back, Be Playing Again - in 2 Hours or Less.Click Here

Ancient technologies revisited - religions and their books full of technology

Throughout history it is always the spritual and religious world providing us with clues about the gods, aliens and ancient tehnologies. Many of the texts and libraries have been lost to war, fires and natural disasters. But the really old ones still have solid structures with myths everywhere. And they all have stories that survived time in one form or another. The approach to make or keep this knowledge accessible differes from culture to cultures and between our various old and newer religions.Take the fact the officiall the Jews have no home country to call home. This fact goes back to the times of the crucification of Jesus! The roman or catholic church was and in many ways still is the driving force behind this war against all jews. And it makes a good example to be used for the secrets we are not supposed to know about.I could do the same with hindu gods and might do so in a later revisted episode, but using "the one and only god" makes no real difference. It is neither an attack on the church nor on the jews, it is a collection of histric facts and theories.Killing a weird guy with magical powers would be totally normal for the church, we know that from witch hunts over and over again. And even if you would have killed the highest leader of the church back then the punishments would have stopped with your family. So why try to exterminated or at least drive all jews from church controlled territories? Why steal their most prescious relicts or destroy them? Both the oldest version of jewish "bible" and the other one provide vital and almost identical clues. It is agreed that good old mary was not raped and that her pregnacy was a "miracle".With don't know of her farming hubby was impotent but their are clues they had another child from natural conception many years later.Either way the clues continue in both books.Same for pitcures created by artists around the time and later in history based on stroy telling.I will highlight these pictures a bit later.Again both sides agree that around the time it all hapened a bright star or comet was visible over Jerusalem.Science tried to provide us with answers but could not provide enough specifics and details. The funny thing is that nowhere in any record you find a pregnant Mary...All you find is that she suddenly had a baby, so suddenly in fact that not even hubby realised what happened.Certainly nothing indicating more than a few weeks, so no mormal pregnancy at all!Today we are already experts in IVF and implanting emryos into a womb.We struggle a bit though to make it faster in a controlled way.No problem though to alter and mix the required DNA for more satisfactory outcomes. In some countries it is legal to have the DNA of your unbron child modified to make sure it comes out the way the parants like it best...But of course back then there was no one with a good IVF progam at hand...What if we check for pictures? In almost all of the oldest ones our "comet" does not look like a comet at all.It is not rays of light emitting to show how bright it was - they already did much better jobs with colors when painting the sun...And said "comet" appears over and over in images like a watching eye over whatever happened back then.Often just as a tiny thing in some corner of the image and most of these pic were "taken" in bright daylight.Pretty rare to find a comet visible in bright daylight over one part of the world only and for several years....Fun fact: It was never mentioned that the comet was visible throught the night but it was always clearly visible throughout the day and early morning/evening.Ever seen a big plane taking off around sun set and flying towards the day line?Even if it already appears to be dark enough to see some skies - if the plane is high enough its shiny belly reflects like a bright star....A big enough craft in a stationary orbit would give the exaxt same impression to someone observing it back then. They had no telescope to take a closer look.....What about references in other ancient texts?Especially in the asian region you find old stories about a traveller going west to spread hisnew from a religion and to seek followers.Other stories make it quite clear that he did not travel but that he was sent. All around the right time in history and all matching what Jesus and his followers were spreading. You won't find any records of his journey though....By the time he made it to Jerusalem he would have had thausands of followers already along his route....And funny enough you won't find any stories about the childhood of Jesus either. It all starts as a baby being born and jumps right forward to a young man...Another thing that differs in asian texts is where the three wise man come into place. Some texts state they were not kings at all and there is no corresponging histrorical evidence that leaders from the regions in question came to see the holy child. They speak of teachers bringing wisdom.Teachers from three distictively different cultures from different parts of the ancient world. The same texts state that the teachers did not travel back to where they started their long journey. They state the teachers went to those who sent them to share information on the prgess of the "holy child".And by pure coincidence this "last and final report" meant they disappeared from all historical, religious or even mythical texts and stories. It happen around the time of Jesus being reborn. And with them the story about what happened to Jesus a while after he came back ends as well...Imagine the catholic leaders at that time were like middlemen for a greater cause. After all those three wise man did not reside with Jesus's parents and neither at the local motel.Leaves only a filthy rich guy or the church....And if Jesus was nothing but a genetic experiment to allow for the delevopment of a very calm and capable brain....For sure some tecnology must have been involved to the magic happen, bread and wine don't appear from thin ai just because you want id badly enough. And waters don't stay apart to allow walking over the dry sea bed to the other side - forcefields do...Is than a surpise that those responsible and being also involved in stealing the ark faced the most severe punishment possible?A punishment lasting till the end of time...But were the jews just punsihed for killing Jesus?Of course not.The origins are the same, the god is the same, they are or were different fractions in the attempt to get access to unimaginable power and knowledge. Some say to stay in contact with the higher beings watching and influencing us.If the three wise men were indeed just "visitors" and the Ark of the covenant was their base of knowledge and power:What would we reveal if we combine wisdom and knowledge of the oldest records the church and and jewish counterpart have to offer?Would it be dangerous to justify keeping these almost identical "religions" apart and to replace them "science"?And what happens if they ignore it all one day and live happy togehter in harmony again ? ;)Some of it might become clear when you check the history of the bible itself.Over the years it has seen many alterations to make to stories more digestible and suited for modern times. And it was always based on what we found in the records or incarnations (books) of the bible.A lot of these books or chapters in time were erased from history.once you made up a good story to tell you can't allow and older version to show a completely different picture.Worse still if thse old books reveal that the current story is fundamentally flawed and out of real context. This caused a lot of gaps in the bible and it is no coincidence that it never ever provides any usable dates...the oldest versions though do not only that but they also have a working reference system to create a linear timeline of events. And of course they have a lot of references to what we today call "alien technology" or technology from creatures more evolved than we are.The bible was cleansed and kept free of anything that would allow our advances in science to see anything but "god" and mythical stories.Religion as we know it would become a farce and obsolete once we really understand the origins andwhat the myths and stories really tell.A risk no religion so far is willing to take. But India is making a start with the lost citiy of Dwarka.Confirming they really found it and exploring it one day or even building a dome over it to keep the sea out would be like finding the ark and holy grail together for the church...And it might happen very soon...If Jesus was a real and unaltered human we would still have the problem to explain the technology. So stop saying Jesus was an alien please!

And now I shall bore you with details of my vacation.

Yes, I know, everyone likes to talk about their vacations and nobody wants to hear about them, kind of like dreams. Must be a quirk in the human conditions. So read on, or not. My wife decided she wanted to go on a cruise, now I had prejudged cruising and had no desire to ever go on one. But she searched around and found one that had a fishing in Key West excursion to convince me to go. Well she planned the whole thing, did all the work and really made the vacation happen. There was one small moment when we decided to cancel the cruise for financial reasons (her transmission went out) but discovered we were one day past the cancellation deadline, so we must have been destined. So anyways, on with the vacation. On the first day we drove down to Miami, about four hours, not to bad. We were so early that we decided to visit Fairchild Tropical Garden. Fairchild is a must see for those with a horticultural bent, eighty some odd acres of lush tropical gardens, though I still felt it wasn't quite as nice as Leu Gardens here. We had lunch at the garden before proceeding to the hotel. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, cheap but surprisingly clean with a friendly staff, and a view of the port. Unfortunately my wife became ill from the lunch, and I don't mean just a little ill, but the throwing up out both ends ill. She was so sick that she was curled up in bed crying. We thought we might have to cancel the cruise. But I loaded her up with acidophilus capsules and a dose of a medicine I take for a condition I have and told her we would decide come morning. Come morning she was feeling better but weak, so we decided we'd continue on with the expedition. That brings us to day two. Getting on the boat is similar to boarding the airplane with one noticeable difference, Port security is infinitely more professional than airport security. We only made one mistake, we didn't check our bags. Since you can board hours before the rooms are ready we were stuck with our luggage. There was a moment of Zen when we boarded, they greet you with food and drinks in an atmosphere of sybaritic luxury, but since it was Christmas they were playing music, the song they were playing when we boarded was 'Do They Know It's Christmas'. The rest of the day is exploring the ship and discovering I get seasick, yea! Day Three Nassau, we have swimming with stingrays and snorkeling planned, afterwards we plan on visiting Ardastra Gardens on our own. Swimming with stingrays was pretty cool, and I enjoyed the snorkeling, my wife who doesn't care for the ocean spent her time sunbathing. Eventually that planned excursion was over but we never got to the garden, I was too darned tired from swimming for three hours and my wife was sunburnt. So, back to the cruise ship to do what else, but eat. Day four Cococay, Royal Caribbean's private island, I have snorkeling planned, my wife has sunbathing. Now, admittedly, we're here at the discretion of the cruise line, so the snorkeling area is prescribed, but it's not bad, there's an area of about 1/2 an acre inside a breakwater and about 5-8 acres outside the breakwater. But here's the interesting thing, of all the people snorkeling, only 5 went outside the breakwater! Which means we each had an acre or more to ourselves (there was an additional area that was closed due to the currents). I did find two 'artifacts' while snorkeling here, the first was a dive glove, so I kept that as a 'trophy', the second, I was snorkeling in about 20 feet of water and spotted a distinctly man made object, a doughnut shape, so I swam down and dug up a bottle top, but not just any bottle top but the top of a pre-civil war 'case' Gin bottle. I though that was pretty cool. Now I've considered the idea that the area was 'salted' but I can't quite believe they would 'salt' with broken glass. So I think it was a genuine find. I, of course, returned it to where I found it after taking a picture. Day five Key West, I'm really in a bad mood this morning, because we have to do a 'papers please' inspection with ICE, but then it gets MUCH worse. There's an envelope under the door, my fishing trip has been canceled, lack of participants, the minimum was 5 people, I'm the only one who signed up. Anyways, wise to the ways of Gov't, I convince my wife to show up early for the immigration control, reasoning that 'It's better to be 15 minutes early and wait 30 minutes, than be 15 minutes late and wait 3 hours', guy looks at my ID, asks where I was born, they punch my Seapass (onboard ID/CC). So we go looking for another excursion, my wife wants me to go Kayaking, but I'm seriously exhausted from the past two days of snorkeling. So we decide the Butterfly Conservatory and the Aquarium are where we'll go. The Butterfly conservatory was beautiful, with dozens of species flying everywhere, landing on you and a selection of birds thrown in for good measure, The aquarium, well, umm, geez, I don't want to be mean, but I wouldn't go back. After that we walked around and enjoyed the architecture and visited the Mel Fisher Museum since I was hooked on books about treasure hunting as a kid (I have a metal detector, the most valuable object I ever found was my wife's wedding ring several weeks after she lost it.) And then back to the boat for more eating. Last day, they get you off the ship early, here, you don't want to check your luggage, if you do, you don't get off until they let you, if you carry your luggage, you can get off the ship first thing at 7:30 am. So once we're off the ship all that is left is the customs and the drive back. Customs was nothing, you hand a guy a form and you are done. The drive back was mostly uneventful until the last rest stop, then, of course, the truck won't start. Well it will start, but it's stumbling and sound like only one bank of cylinders are firing, in desperation I stand on the gas and it picks up, think that last fill up had water in it. I baby it the rest of the way home by drafting behind a truck and keeping to 65 and, obviously, we get home. So, goods, bads, and impressions The goods. The ships are insane about cleanliness these days, I noted that there was one individual who seemed to do nothing but wipe the stair handrails with disinfectant continually. The service was impeccable. The food was variable, but it varied from just good to fantastic, it was always hot and fresh, and you never saw the same item twice. The room also had a revolving menu of movies to watch, so I finally got to see Wall-e. The Steward cleans the room twice a day and turns down your bed while you are at dinner. The excursions take a lot of the 'what do you want to do? I don't know, what do you want to do?' out of the trip. And the room was surprisingly quiet. The bad, I realize that the excursions are done through independent contractors and therefore they are not the ones who canceled my excursion, but they could have informed me before hand that there was the possibility that it would be canceled. They push the drinks and the pictures, learn to say no. During the life boat drill the videographer comes up and says 'Can I get a wave from everybody?' and I turned to him and said 'No', he came back with 'Are you kidding me?' and I said 'I can't speak for all these people, but I'm NOT waving' LOL, he walked off. The elevators are slower than hell, if you use them, you will spend half your cruise waiting, use the stairs. Also there are six elevators amidships, three port, three starboard, when you push the elevator button, it only summons the three elevators on the side you push! Poor design, you can cut down the waiting by pushing the button on one side and quickly walking over and pushing the other button, but, of course, you have now tied up two elevators and are increasing others waiting times. Also, no one tells you that you will suffer dizziness after the cruise, both my wife and I have been having dizzy spells and a search shows it is pretty common. Oh, and I used a Walgreens waterproof disposable for the snorkeling, since you don't see any of those pix, you can guess how well it worked. Impressions Cruises are not for xenophobes! Not just the mix of passengers, but the crew is from all over the world, and I like that when they introduce themselves it was often 'Hello, I'm Melvin from the Philippines.' And as a member of the IBWF I enjoyed the diversity. The formal dining was assigned seating, but we only did it once, I was actually a little uncomfortable with the level of service, three waiters for two people? I'm not used to that. Lastly, tipping is expected, I feel that it should be included in the price of the cruise, so we did the pre paid tips, so we wouldn't have to deal with it. And finally, the myth of the 'ugly American' is just that, a myth, what I learned is that ALL tourists are 'Ugly' So, in Ebay speak, A++++++ Would Cruise again. If you read this far, you deserve a drink.

ISP's an their sneaky ways of limiting your internet to a crawl

With more and more restiction hitting internet users I though I write a bit about the methods used to make our life harder than necessary. First example: Heavy gamer... Some people love their Xbox or PC for only one reason, online gaming. Too bad when all of a sudden your ping rates go sky high or the chat has a lag making good conversations during the game impossible. Second example: Streaming media... People like to watch what they want and when they want. Online streaming is a good way to get the latest trailers, catch up with your favourite shows or just to kill some time. Too bad when you notice the connection takes forever and that you can only watch in low quality without running into buffer problems. Last but not least P2P.... Although used for mainly illegal stuff, P2P is still not dead. A lot of software and even collections of documents are shared by the use of various P2P networks. Torrents are the most common ones but it really does not matter once your ISP has hit you hard. So what have all these in common when we speak about ISP troubles you might wonder? Well, firstly they cause a lot of traffic and secondly a large number of connections at the same time. Why would my ISP limit me? 1. You are using your internet for illegal downloads. Although in many cases the ISP won't be able to tell what you are downloading, but they can clearly see the volume of the downloads and that a P2P system is used. Does not take a genius to realise several GB a week on a constant base can't be all legal. 2. Cheap ISP A lot of our providers rent their bandwidth from another provider. This way they can provide cheaper prices but have to make sure not go over the allowance as it would could dearly. A good way of preventing this is to limit speed during so called peak hours - basically whenever a lot of people are online. 3. Your area.... Let's say you are living in a densly populated area. There you often have a single exchange for all internet and phone users. Although the numbers of possible users can be increased by adding more hardware, the bottleneck is the feed to this exchange. As they are owned by a single provider and every other ISP has to pay for the use it becomes clear that this provider will have the best speeds and traffic allowances for the people connected. In return the other ISP(s) will be reduced in speed and sometimes even the type of connection possible, for example blocking all P2P traffic completely. How do I find out what is happening to me? This is indeed a hard one! No ISP will tell you "Yes, we limited you to xxxx and these services are not working on your connection: ...." Their fineprint states you have internet and Email, depending where you are maybe online TV services. But this is only true for standard ports and protocols used! So for your favorite online game it might be possible to download the latest update in the GB range within minutes but still encounter a massive lag during the play sessions. Similar story for low speeds. It is common practise to prioritise traffic to local speed testing servers. This means no matter what "problem" you might have all test will give positive results. So you might be able to get high speeds in your tests but watching a Youtube video can mean to first buffer the entire video before you can watch it. You ISP won't support any requests as long as common speed tests work fine for you. A sure way of testing is to download a Linux distribution from a remote server. How long does it take to download? Now do the same using a P2P download of the same distribution. Did it take much longer or did you have problems connecting to peers? If so you are limited by your ISP. Be aware that this might be true for only one type of P2P network, while others are uneffected. For games check your Ping times against ping times done manual against a known server, for example Google. If they are close all is good, if the game ping is much higher (often in the thausands compared to around 300ms max) you are sucked into limitations. Ok, I am fairly sure I am limited by my ISP, is there anything I can do? If you mainly use the internet for illegal downloads you might want to consider going the legal way. For all others, check below. Main reasons for limits put on your account or connection are congestion (nothing you can do about except trying the ISP that owns your phone network and to pay more - and of course the amount of connections you make. Let me give you an example: Downloading a huge file from a server usually needs a single connection on port80. Doing the same using P2P services requires a lot of simultanious connections to many servers/PC's around the world. Only with enough, fast connections your download will progress at good speeds. You ISP can see the number of connections and cut them at a limit or completely disable the protocol used for the download. The result is crawling speeds for the download and you only see a few peers available. Multiplayer games often use several ports for the traffic, game status, chat, graphic updates like location of other players and so on. So if you play in a world with 8 of your friends and fight against 200 online players all these infos has to get to your system. Having a few kids all enjoying different online sessions at the same time certainly does not help either. ;) Unless you are permanently limited there are a few options to make things better: 1. Limit yourself to the off-peak times for big downloads. 2. Try to avoid multiple game sessions and downloads from a single internet connection, e.g: let the kids play with one console at a time. 3. Change the ports used by your program, sometimes the standard ports are used by everyone else around, changing them gives the ISP the option to spread the load. 4. Last and best option: Limit the amount of allowed connections. For games this is not always possible but for other services it is. Imagine your P2P program using 300 download sources at the same time. Every one has the actual data and a lot of other informations to transmit while your system has to send the receiving info to every single one. On top of all that you have the informations needed to find new peers, coordinate the parts and so on. You can limit those in the settings of the program. So instead of allowing 500 or more connections at the same time go down to 100 or less. Instead of allowing 100 half open connections (used to negotiate the download for a new peer) go down to 20. And of course limiting your own upload and the connections used for it does help a lot. Myths and alternatives.... You might have heard the things like "protocol obfuscation", "port hoppers" and similar exist, same for the "Tor" network and maybe even the "usenet". The myth behind all of them is the claim that oyur ISP won't actually see what you do and what your download. On top of that you have so called "VPN' services. Although some of the services will help you to overcome certain limits it does not change the fact that you ISP still can see your up- download volume and the number of connections in use. And trust me, they are not dumb either, so they will know anyway that you mostly use the internet for illegal downloads. After all, what reasons could you have to use encrypted services or to direct your traffic over VPN networks? Of course being in China or similar countries is a different story due to gouvernment restictions on the internet. As long as you do direct download with only a hand full of connections you should be fine, for everything else it comes down to luck. Protocol obfuscation worked for a few months until ISP's fixed it. The usenet might be an alternative but not for everyone. Even the famous Tor network or dedicated VPN services won't help you once your ISP got you flagged. The will simply limit everything besides standard protocols and ports, so you can use you Email and surf the net, even download directly for a server but everything else might be crippled. As I said earlier there is no way for the user to truely check what limits he has or what ports and protocols might be affected - you ISP won't tell you either. Before you get trapped into a new contract because your ISP is no good turn off all P2P and gaming for a day or two. Try again at night times after a reset of your modem/router. Quite often you will see it works just fine for a while. If so you can limit yourself, use off-peak times and so on. Sometimes it also helps to simply limit the download speed itself. Of course the best alternative is not to use illegal downloads and to seek local content for game servers or online video.

Davison and being an inventor

Last week a company called Davison was running targeted ads on Instructables through Google Adsense. Google Adsense typically places contextual-based ads on sites making connections between advertisers and publishers based on their search technology. However, advertisers can also work with Google to directly placed ads on specific sites. At first, we were flattered that Davison chose to target us, and further flattered that they were actually using our terminology in their ads. You may have seen "Cool Instructable?" or "Have an Instructable?" text ads running in our right sidebar. After checking out what Davison does, I decided they weren't a good fit with us and removed the ads. Normally, this would be no big deal, but because of the business Davison is in and the specifics of this case, I wanted to share my thinking.Davison solicits ideas from independent inventors, creates prototypes, markets potential products to manufacturers and distributors, and collects royalties. This is not worlds different from what we did at Squid Labs, except I would characterize Squid's activities as more technical and with the aim of creating sustainable businesses rather than exclusively creating products to be licensed. The rub comes in that Davison is not forthcoming with how they actually make money: high fees paid by the independent inventors. Here's a Forbes article that goes into greater depth, but for me, the important statistic is this: 37,000 or so people have contracted Davison Design's services in the last five years; but only eight of those who have signed up have realized royalties exceeding their fees to Davison.A 0.02% success rate is just awful, and clearly shows that they are preying upon people who don't know any better. The thing that personally put me over the edge was a section from their Questions and Myths:9. Can I tell people about my idea? We recommend that you do not publicly disclose your invention/idea to anyone (not even a friend or a family member), unless you have confidential documents in place to verify that you are the originator of the invention.Obviously, I have a conflict of interest, because I want you to share your initial ideas here in the forums and how you built your ideas into prototypes as Instructables to help me grow the site; however, the concept of absolute secrecy is anathema to me. Here at Squid Labs, we know of no one that has had their invention stolen by some big corporation (more on this at Saul's column in Makezine Vol. 9; full text available as an attached PDF, kindly permitted by Make). My experience has uniformly been that sharing yields stronger results than hiding. The person you share your ideas with might turn into a business partner and be instrumental in your shared success.Clearly there's demand for services to help inventors. Davison seems to have a nice facility at Invention Land; instead, why don't they invite the almost 8000 people per year that contact them to attend an "invention boot camp?" Attendees could learn some basic design, CAD, and machining skills, give mock presentations, and learn how to do a preliminary patent search. If Davison was doing a good job, they would start to see some success from their graduates, and companies looking for innovation would seek out the graduates or ask to attend the camp's final design reviews.Teaching people all these skills might sound impossible - like a full undergraduate and graduate series of degrees compressed into an 80-hour crash course. No course can cover everything- instead, it should give motivated people the basic skills and confidence to start doing it themselves, and teach them how to seek out the additional knowledge they need. It's surprising what motivated people can accomplish if you just get them started. In 2002 Saul and I taught a one-week class called Cyclomerisation where we taught a group of 12 people just enough bicycle design, CAD, and manufacturing to make them dangerous. Each person then designed their own custom bicycle using 8020 extruded aluminum and jet-machined connectors. We had telescoping unicycles, recumbent tricycles, and plenty of standard bikes; for example, check out Saul's 8020 Chopper. Half the participants were MIT students, half were not, and it made no difference -- everyone was motivated to learn something new and to put it into practice. If this idea isn't Davison's thing, then maybe I've found a project to work on after Instructables can run itself. In the meantime, I'm sharing the idea with all of you, because that's the best way to vet it, see if it has legs, and make it stronger.More pictures from Cyclomerisation here and here.

I want to Make a HUGE "3D printed" sculpture of a PACHAMAMA DRAGON with a drop fountain in it's eyes and a sensor smoke machine and more.(HOW CAN I DO IT?)

I have close to 0 pratical skill in arduino and raspberry,Questions: What`s the easiest way to make a sensor so when people are close to the head it starts crying in drops (maybe gold like liquid or glow in the dark liquid or red liquid)What`s the easiest way to make a sensor connected to a smoke machine? Where can I buy a drop water fountain?MORE IMPORTANT:What are the name of the professionals who can help me tech the dragon? does anyone knows cool things I could add to the dragon to animate it somehow?Maybe an entrance to put coins and money and some lights would light the whole dragon from inside, maybe a foam machine on the mouth or a flametrower. Is there any light that with a special bulb or opaque acrylic that stays smooth like a car`s neon and not localized when seeing it directly? how could i light the dragon in an epic way , having in account that the dragon has a rooted intricate body and we can put lights inside? maybe i can put the lights. Who is the professional who can put wholes for the lighting system and it-s wiring on the 3d model before we print it?______________________________________________________________________________________________I Will reproduce this model of this dragon (https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-rigging-motion-paths-model-1150078) and MIRA ARTS RESHAPED SO IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S BODY IT'S MADE WITH THE ROOTS OF AMAZON,like this one(https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mira-arts/forest-dragon) , rigged again in an epic way to fit inside a particular room along the walls, with a 2m wide head and an asian dragon body so it can spiral and swirl and curve around the room, like the walls are water, maybe even go behond walls outside and trough windows.it will have simple sensors so when you're close to the head it activates smoke machines there, maybe an "Ha" soundwith the help of architects, we will assemble the creature on site.I will reproduce it with around 500$ of cardboard sheets laser etched in topographical layers (PRICE) with the help of 123dmake (check it out), maybe then plastered and sanded down.like this tutorial until step 4. (https://www.instructables.com/id/Fine-Art-from-Cardboard/)with this system we can 3D print the dragon and anything imaginable at a Giant Epic scale!I'm going to kickstart this project ______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________ Fluff to save the World: I will name the Artpiece with a long name "Niu Pachamama Dragon :Bolsonaro, me muda o nome da Amazonia para Pachamama para ter um lugar mais visível no Google para salvarmos a Pachamama, vai!" or in english: "Mr.Bolsonaro (Brazil's President), can you change the name of Amazon Forest to just Pachamama so it can have better ,non confusing google searches and we can finally save it from ilegal deforestation?"Amazon has been unconsciously hidden UNDER Amazon Company IN WEB SEARCH ENGINES for too long,it doesn't have any clicks on search engines, it needs a legit different name for it's core to survive on aND PUMP the PLANET TROUGH THE internet. This way the company and the forest can coexist in different non intersecting google "cupboards" without any confusion for kids and adults alike. If the president changes the name OF aMAZON TO PACHAMAMA TROUGH THIS DRAGON SPLASH, we can bring tons of attention to Pachamama, the New Amazon AND POTENTIALY SAVE THE WORLD!.eCK!For 2020 WE CAN EVEN BE CELEBRATING 3SMAS INSTEAD OF CHRISTAMAS, WHERE INSTEAD OF TORNING DOWN A PINE TREE EACH FAMILY PLANTS 10 PLANTS!MERRY 3SMAS EVERYBODY, TREES MUST SURVIVE!THEI'RE ALIVE!The dragon has become a global symbol for epicness, Myth, entertainment fantasy monster,But the Virgin Amazonian Augmented Dragon or new Pachamaman Dragon CAN BECOME The transcendental symbol of good hope FOR PACHAMAMA,meaning, a guide to Brazilian politicians to "Get a legit Google cupboard for amazon RIGHT NOW!",protector of treasure with the TREASURE representing the Forests, specially the amazon, and hope that we can still save and act for all the forests of the world!a nEW PACHAMAMAit represents the fertility of the amazon, also IT'S deforestation,it's brutality, and future connection with mankind!iMAGINE THAT! and the dragon has an augmented DBZ scouter on the eye that represents the Good side of transcendental connection between human and machine(equals dragon, a symbol of leadership)(https://i.ytimg.com/vi/xiKcimY1iEc/maxresdefault.jpg) It represents the new transcendental connection with technology, you can have a google glass augmented "game" where you become an instant druid in the rainforest, with the camera reckognizing everyplant and medicine that you wish, and dosages for it, and where to get the next one for the recipes AND HOW TO PREPARE THEM.

Ancient technologies revisited - forced to forget!

Before you get exited: it is not about aliens taking you up for a medical....We know that ancient civilisations had knowledge that we can't explain, skills we can't understand, not explain.Back then it was gods, people from the sky that are claimed in ancient texts to have done almost all you can think of and then some to and with humankind.Be it bad, be it good, be it war and destruction.Over time we learned that it is almost impossible to wipe out humanity as a whole. And even if you would try we are scattered far and wide, there is no country with a purley indigenous population anymore.Same for knowledge, we use books, paper, stone sheets and now even computer, crystals and sticky tape to record data in digital form to last "forever".But what happened to our ancient old knowledge, to people like Merlin and all those alien "hybrids", like Lesus and all these starchild from virgins claimed to have had sex with a god?We found 6-8" tall skelletons in a cave - with long read hair. They are not on public display so the native amercian people of the region would not get offended. We found "hoaxes" of human hybrid skelletons during the hype and hight of the Aegypt excavation decades. No matter where these not that human remains were found we also find stories about them from the local tribes or stories from the past - never any kind and supportive ones...Almost as if humans started to see their gods and their offsprings as something to fear and to exterminated.Like you would try when they keep causing your pain and suffering for no reason you understand. Some gods are claimed to have left and are said to return ONE day.Other gods were killed or destroyed by other gods, some even by us humans. But knowledge should not just disappear if it is of use to you no matter how you got this knowledge...Means some people or even entire cultures must have survived - nothing becomes more urgent than to preserve your history once there is only a few left...IMHO the turning point came when we started to eliminate gods as creators or bringers of destructions and started to created religions around them.Until then you might have had a chance to get away with thinking your way and doing things the way you like...Real fear, real knowledge, real understanding suddenly became a thing reserved for the highest representatives of their religion. What they told us humble followers was "the word of god".And we accepted this blindly because after: These guys claimed to have been or still be in contact with the wise old man...We started to worship what we once feared most, in some relions it even made real progress impossible for hundreds of years. We started to forget, to think freely, to make our own conclusions. And we started to get less and less of the knowledge "those in charge" did not feel willing to share or to provide.IMPOSSIBLE!! You say, now...Let me give you a lame man's example:Take enough people to have a chance for a more or less healthy gene pool.Let them ake what they consider to be essential to make for a yew on a remote island that provides water and food but no creature comforts like electricity or oue internet - LOST from the world we know. How many generations would it take until they forget their useless phones, what their anecstors once called the world wide web?How long until the tools they took with them are blunt and useless with no way or knowledge to make new ones? How long until the degrade to native ilanders with their own culture, their own stories about how they came to be?How long until they forgot about us and what we call normal is something they could not even dream about?20 generations, 50?....Science and technolgy stopped for the better part under religious control.Even in Muslim cultures we say how wars and natural disasters changed the focus from learning and kowledge to blind faith or an interpretation of it.Asian cultures are not far behind either, their gods are long forgotten, their religions turned into a shadow of what living with the gods would have been and technological advancements started to seperate the cultures even further.Today most religions, even the Pope himself is rather open about intelligent life in the universe...Slowly but relentlessly science debunked more and more about what makes a religion work. Some even say we only developed science to claw back what we know deep down was always there for the taking. But either way the damage was long done. The few that remained were unable to spread their knowledge, if you ignore certain "cults and secret organisations" that don't exist, or so we shall think. The big question is: Why did we need religion and trusted/still trust it blindly? It replaced our gods and allowed for a redirection of godly powers. With the god(s) seemingly gone for good for whatever reasons, there was a vacuum that needed to be filled. And what might have started once with justa hand full of people turned into something that everyone needed - if in doubt by learning it through brute force from those who already trusted in gods word.Religion might have lost it's direct influence on those leading our world offcially but they never stopped influencing where they can...For many people starting to find trust and comfort or just understanding in a reliong it does not start by actually studying it, not even by reading about it.The feel lost, hurt, abused, whatever - and they find someone willing to listen, to agree to how hard life can be, to offer a way out....Thing about this approach is that it means nothing but a change in lifestyle, finding some purpose that was not there before, filling a gap.And if it helped for just that, in that moment in time you have it easy to create "a follower".Following is a term often used throughout almost all religions we have.Like Lemmings without thinking or questioning...Letting someone else do the thinking, do what is told and expected...If you do and obey you will enter the heavly kindgom, roam the evergreen fields, fly to the moon, whatever promise a religion makes.Fail and you are threatend with the destruction of your soul, punishment for eternity, burning and hell and much more variations of a violent and painful ending.Fear is created to make people stay in line, even if it is just old stories in a book that have been changed more than once...God helped when you needed him so of course he will punish you the same way he helped you...And if he punishes you for no good reason at all, even if you are his greatest follower than you blindly trust it was his will and that it all has a reason. You don't need to understand it, just stay a follower and trust all will be good, even if you die painful weeks later from cancer. At least you won't brun in hell no matter how hard the journey up was....Religion almost always tried really hard to eliminate all real knowledge, forcefully.Be honest: In the name of which god was America "found"?If "god" created earth, then how come those knowing all about him, his creation, his will had absolutely no clue about america, the antarctic or even Australia? ;)If god really outdone himself with us in just seven biblical days, then why were his own words interpreted and written down again and again similar to "WE created you in OUR image?"Whenever god spoke to one of his followers directly it was "ME", "MY WILL", "MY LAW"...Either he suffered badly from a personality disorder or he was nothing special after all, just one "god" in a group of few or many...If modern humans think or talk about the Jewish genocide then the only word that pops up start with a N and ends with an I....But did you know that almost of all Europe was in the strong hands of the Catholic Church since the dark ages? And who was it how first declared that all Jews need to be made disappear, be driven out, be killed? It were those who blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus, the child airtifical insamination....Yes, that weird guy guy that made bread appear out of thin air and turned water into wine...With the sandals and long hair ;)Jews were hated throughout Europe since we had kings over there that tursted in god and were crowed by a church rep.ALL high ranking Nazies were church goers before, during and most even after the war...There are other reasons I already discussed in other parts of this series that made the Jews the hate subject of Germany, but it was always "god's word" they got on Sunday morning that reminded them of the real problem out there....German documents from that time, including letters to and from family members provided a rather clear image on the influence the church had on Nazi Germany. But we were made to forget this little part of history as since the discovery of armerica and striking gold, literally, the church turned into a goo and helpful organisation, or so we thought. In other religions we find the same similarities, the same hate for "non-believers", even for those with just a slightly different option on how to interpret gods word.Muslims fight their brothers and neighbours for reason we can't even understand. And we will never fully understand why real and good muslim will never accept a non muslim as equal.Same way we fail to understand dictatorships or China. If most religions seems to make us want to forget what they don't like, and dictate what we can or can't do, can or can't eat, then why???And I don't mean gods will or word here or that is written somewhere. The religion comes from a specific god, this god once had specific features, characteristics, a personality.Like Loki always playing games and tricks...Is it really just a weird, maybe even wrong interpretaion that keeps us seperated and fighting?Back in ancient times we still fought in the name of the gods AFTER hearing it as their will directly.Later we fought in their name bacause SOMEONE said so...And more than once, almost always we started these religious wars and "forced educations to trust in the right god" only because these people did not know the god these anrgy people speak about....Is it not more likely that religion transfered the hate the gods had against each other to contiue fighting those still trusting in their own god?And wouldn't that for obvious reasons have to include the knowledge about hose other gods and what they left behind in true knowledge??Is science and technology the devil or the rescue?Weather you like it or not, most of the things we claim to have invented must have been known and used long before we invented the wheel. And still today the "invention" of this weird round and flat thing that makes life so easy is said to be the biggest thing since learning how to make fire.Other claim it was how we learned to make a spear and later bow and arrow as it allowed us to hunt from a distance, to kill without being seen, to become the dominant predator.Either way, science was involved and born.It kept providing us wonder after wonder, without the need for a religion to "explain" things in a way we still fail to understand.Today we know the gene that allowed us to develop a brain capable of real thinking, understanding, making conclusions.Problem is that natural or even accidential evolution of this gene would have taken more than 20 times longer than what it did....And already back then we had these gods and people from the stars popping up all the way back to the cave men and nomadic tribes...What if science is no accident as the books always say? What if it was "planned" in our genes? All religions seem to agree that some god created us, one way or another.Only the stories of some or remaining tribes from the past tell from the time before time. These stories of the creation of the universe are seen as myths, too old, too changed to have any real meaning left.Yet some of them were proven by science in recent years....Science was not a think for them, the gods were just visitors, creators, the wars came much, much later. If science is already in our genes and religion tries to prevent us from utilising it, what might we find?We need to get to the moon, we need to get to Mars, we need to "get out there"....Seemingly since the dawn of time, and so our drive gave a focus to develop what we need to get there, no matter how long it takes or hard it might be.With religion at the helm we would still think Earth is the center of the known universe and would't even dare to build a rocket because we would get to close to the gods, or fall or this flat earth...Some say the answer is in our genes, literally. With all the junk in our genes that neither evolution, nor mutation can explain we wonder what this huge databank might reveal once we cracked the encryption or learned how to read it directly. To give you an idea of the amount of "junk" we carry in us:You could pack all written knowledge of humanity into our helix of human DNA with plenty of room to spare! One of the factors that makes finding the right genes for a problem so hard...You just can't see the forest with so many trees blocking your view.... If you could jus rise up to see the whole forest from above - then you might see in which pattern the pine plantage was arranged and where you get to the next road....We won't know what the real answer is as we don't even understand the extend of the qeustion yet.And no, this time the answer is not 42 ;)So what we might find one we got far away enough from "mother" earth or what we really learn once we decode our DNA is up to your imagination. All that is claer is that we need science to get there...Is religion then then solution or the problem? The way I see it with some religions it is a bit of both, depending on where you stand. If it a preperation for the return of whatever god, or a way to make sure said god(s) see us as the best possible image of their creation, then what really happens if they do come back?We always hear and read that they come back one day.It is a fact, a base of the religion. It is a thing to look forward to.Not so much if we see some of texts from a more independent viewpiont.Like by a more timeline like approach without judging any religion directly:The gods create the universe as we knew it - whatever we could see from our cave so to say. Then they created the earth, everthing else and last but certainly not least us.We might give the first one the benefit of doubt based on that we could not actually know what happened before we existed and when we were create we did not even know how to form a single word....The second however clearly shows that since we exist we know that someone else or something else created us.Why didn't we do the most logical thing?I created fire, I must be god now and you all must worship me?Instead we shared this knowledge, protected it and thanked the gods for letting us figure it out.Or they might have accidentially shown some cave man one day ;)The god disappeared and much later came back to guide many of their creations, give them knowledge, build things. The more of us there were the more gods seemed to appear.Suddenly it was no longer just about what they do for us, it was wars between gods, artificial insaminations, genetic experiments, sex, creating hybrids, not just between gods and humans but also between humans and animals.Intrie civilisations disappeared or were destroyed by these gods.More than once the wipe humanity out almost completely, giving us floods, plagues, droughts and more....Every time this happened one culture or a new one flourished, in some case humanity (of that area) got a full reset. And always this new and improved, more god following human got guidance by the god(s) for some time to come, even if "visits" were sporadic. For many of these events we find texts, cave carvings and ancient old mythy from our tribes confirming that some of these events were in fact global - with different gods involved...Humanity as we know it started to evolve, started thinking in more and more complex ways, explored the world around and nature. We developed culture, our first real settlements....The gods started to divide the world by time and place(s).Having some fun here, getting bored and moving on.Getting really good with the little humans and some other god gets angry. And rather suddenly they disappeared again.....Religion and myth replaced the gods that once were real....If religion seems to be neither good, nor bad, then what is it preparing us for?Throughout time the god aooeared to us while they were around for various reasons.Be it fun, be it guidance, be it their own wars. But in ALL cases when they came back after a long time of absence they only had very few resons to do so.1. To check on our progress and leave after being being pleased.2. To bring us wisdom and guidance.3. To bring us destruction and suffering. Some say they never stopped watchin otherwise we would not have UFO's.Would mean they always knew exactly what we were up to and how we were doing. No one I could find can provide prove a god came here to share his wisdom and guidance - at least not in person. That only leaves us option three......Some "believers" already claim for years the end is coming and year after year their claims seem to become more valid. We go from one disaster into the next we abuse nature where we can and we see one plague after the other, now global and still going strong...According to ancient texts the return or judgement day is more than overdue. And considering that every time we "came to close to the gods", we got punished I wonder how these guys feel about us doing what we do and how we do it.If the sinners go to "hell" and the followers to "heaven" - where does it leave those between, the grey area?I guess it just depends on which gods drops down here first....Whether we like it or not, we just can't shake the feeling off that we are not alone out there, and even less can we shake off that feeling that religion started from fear and suffering,,,,Even the selected few had to suffer for generations in most religions...Read up in the texts of your religion or if you have none, pick one.Check how we were judged and how we got punished, check for the signs. If all of it is a bit true here and there, to not say all of it might, then how would would our religious leaders, explain, judge or interpret the asteriod Apophis, or 99942?Now known simply as 2004MN4...It arrives on 13/04/2029 for the first time, very close to earth and visible fore quite a while like back when Jesus was born.A few funny coincidences about this small and harmless enocunter:Same time seven yearslater it will be back, early calculations predicted the exact same day and only a few hours of difference. Now predicitions state it is a bit unclear due to certain effects when getting close to earth....Still: SEVEN years. If you like ancient Aegypt you already wonder how it got the initial name Apophis - go ahead and read up who gave this name and why, you will like the story behind it!And if you like the god himself you might find it a bit odd that a thing that was initially thought to be able to destroy most of our world by impact is name after this guy....Not so much though if you know a bit more about ancient Aegypts myths and legends. The coincidences however do not end just here, the number 99942 is a "random" number and every found object out there gets one.I like all sorts of nummber games....999 - the sign of the devil, the sign of destruction. There isn't really that much in myths, legends and religions giving these three numbers as they are a good meaning.A lot of "magic tricks" use number tricks.Like simplifying a big number into something with a single diget to have a base to "guess" you age...A bit like this: 9 + 9 + 9 + 4 + 2 = 333 + 3 = 6....The thing about this specific way of breaking down number is used since anient times for predictions, astrology and more.Let's just say it is just for so long and for so many reason because it has some actual meaning and usage.Apophis turns back to something religious, magical numbers....999 is already the devil's mark. 33 in astrological terms is a "spiritual rythm", even calendars with a base of 33 years are still trusted and used, some even give 33 a mythical character as it seems to follow us everywhere. And the six can be found as both positive and negative. mostly badly though. Some theories now use these numbers and say it clearly indicates in the classification already that the thing will return - long before anything was calculated - it had to be this way...The last coincidence is how these numbers related to Tesla's triangle of power. Not to mention how they are used and interpreted in our religions.9 is the beginning and the end, zero or 0 is both the sum, the next "digit" and nothing.3 and 6 are two kinds of energy that are equal and opposite but still not the same.9 in this triangle is both the sum of 3 and 9 and what come our if you subract one from the other. Some claim that ancient gods, predictable numbers and relations to Tesla all in one single object can't be random coincidence.Especially not if you see the number "blocks" in relations to Tesla's circle of math.5 numbers, the nine 3 times....4+2 equals 6.In his circle you can create "lines" with these numbers that intersect on the 7, no matter which way you try.And did you check the date? ;)1+3+4+2+0+2+9= 21 2+1=31+3+4+2+0+3+6= 19 1+9=10 1+0=1Some use these number games to state in 2029 we will be judged, in 2036 we will be "reset" or advance to the next level.Be it coincidence, be it a joke of the universe - it is still interesting how very old "techniques" that were trusted by our ancestors and that still find followers all end up in doomsday, creation or both when you start playin with 99942....And the above are only a few examples....I leave it up to you to decide how, if at all, this relates to going back to the moon and estabilishing a "colony" up there.Or why it is planned to do even more and go furthe BEFORE 2035.... ;)Isn't it comforting to know that all is just mind games, theories with no base and coincidenes?Or is it?....

Ancient technologies revisited - How did we build our first cities and when?

For this week it is the last part of my little series. We have many really old cities in our world, if you include temples and their often huge structures itis possible to go back almost 3000 years. That is if we trust our school books and university proffessors.Speaking about ancient cities is almost impossible with speaking about Atlantis, the Maya's or Rome. And we excavated many ruins showing us that in the old time we knew a lot more about building solid houses than today. The further back in time we go the more cities disappear and are replaced by settlements.Go a big step further and all we did was living in caves and hoping our fire won't go out.In Germany we have the reamins of a famous group of cave dwellers in the area called Neanderthal. The were happy cave dwellers around 30.000 years ago.A pretty damn long way to reach the times of our first cities made from stone even if you aim low....So KNOW when we started our first human settlements and we KNOW when we were living in cave and we KNOW almost everything that happened in between that made us the modern home sapienn we are today.Or do we????Some of our ancient cultures claim their cities and monuments were build by the gods or people from the sky long before time.In this context it means long before these tribes arrived or came into existence - they were there already. But we only know carbon dating to reliably tell the age of something.Problem with this is that you can't test things rocks as they were carved from older rocks and there is no difference in their "age".We need organic maretial like wood, or manufacutred things like pottery or formed metal objects to get a clue.Means if things like a big flood happened all evidence of times before could have simply vanished for the "time records".And mainstream archeology is always right - right? There is a big problem our histroy records are facing now.People started paying attention to undeniable facts.Like for example that animations showing us how our earth evolved and how the continets seperate are a hoax.Several ice ages happened, several times our ocean level changed by KILOMETERS!Still almost all of these animation show the coastlines unchanged - only the ice layer is added. But the changing sea levels are ignored. If you include all things plus changing sea levels these animation would give us a very different story. And so some guys came up with the idea to use what know about our topography on land and under water to check if there could have been enough "forgotten" land masses to explain certain things.Things like technolgy that we are forced to beleive did not exist during ancient times. The biggest single peice of land "discovered" was between Africa, Idian and Australia.About the size of Europe and China combined.Shortly after they set on a mission to find friends, financial supporters and tried to find "lost" cities. So far Atlantis was not found. But what was found and carbon dated - and how old are the cities??What for the church is the Ark of the covenant if for the people in India the ancient city of Dawrka - home of Krishna, one of the most importand gods over there.Ancient texts describe the city in great detail and it was declared nothing but a myth - like well, Atlantis. The most likely position of Dwarka was not too hard to find and extrapolate from the old texts but no one ever looked there until "recently".And after not too much searching a city almsot perfectly matching Dwarka was found.Go ahead and check when Kirshna ruled over Dwarka ;)Around 3100 B.C. or over 5000 years ago...Can we get closer to the Neanderthaler?I could now start a long list of cities and dates but I won't bore you that much today. The remains of an old city were found over 2000m below our current sea level. The first side sonar scans were claimed to show nothing but natural formations - according to "real" scientists. That is despite these scans being highly detailed....Of course it did not end there and remote controlled min subs with cameras and manipulators found funding and good use a few years later. The brought back images of roads, arches, walkways with perfectly square step at the end leading to higher levels. But also images or humans faces carved into stone - similar to those stone heads of unknow origins on the easter islands. And of course they collected all sorts of encrusted samples.A lot of it was useless debris but some carved wood, pottery pieces and even remains of metal were found - and carbon dated. The dating was performed several times by different instutions as the authenticty was questioned again and again. Finally the real scientists accepted the fact that the city under the sea is at least 40.000 years old....10.000 years before our caveman settled in Neanderthal.....Facts don't lie but still mainstream archeology and histry won't allow to make these fact known in school boks or normal archeology classes at our fancy univeristy. It would undermine the one thing that makes us special on this planet. It would mean we (current) humans are not the best god created - we are at best the second incarnation.....It would mean religion as we know it would be obsololete and become a farce. It would mean our technological advances in the last 300 or so years are nothing compared to what existed long before we thought cave men were the first humans. One human will accept and understand these simple facts but not their implication if EVERYONE would not just assume but ACCEPT that we are just second best...As said facts won't lie, so I will continue my series with a lot more mostly unknow facts and some realistic theories well worth thinking about. One day we might have the technology to explore these underwater cities properly but we might never figure our or accept how they were build.Well, unless we accept more than just these cities exists and how old they really are.Stay tuned!
