I think we should give the "Instructables Robot" a proper name. Who's with me?

Whats the name of that dial switch thingy found on old ships, you know where someone says "Full steam ahead!" and then they push this lever all the way forward and it makes bell noises as it does it and lights up a little sign on the side. Its circular, you know what i'm talking about!

Well let's put it this way, I've grown bored stiff of both my online alias (Ryan Vance), or using me real name (NOYDB), so HELP ME PICK A FAKE NAME FOR MYSELF PEOPLE!! All I know is I'm after McCool as the last name, its sounds good, I like it, and it pays homage to a former role-model turned hero. I'm going for something cool and froody like Zaphod Beeblebrox, but of course a little bit more conventional...EDIT: I need a name some one might actually believe is truePictures are of interests and behavioral models...

I name my bikes, usually for something wrong with them. Rusty, well, obvious. Lefty, it pulls to the left. Tiny, well, it's tiny. Some have more thoughtful names, like Phoenix, a bike I found in a ditch that was apparently thrown from a moving pickup. The fourth definition of the word Phoenix at this dictionary is a person or thing that has become renewed or restored after suffering calamity or apparent annihilation. Do you name your bikes?

Guess who got not one, but two puppies? :D And guess who has absolutely no clue as to what to name them? Yeah, that'd be me. So what do you think are some good puppy names? Here's a picture of them, one has an ear that sticks straight up and the other has an upside down white triangle on his forehead. Oh yeah, they're both boys.

Hi I'm trying to locate or build something I don't know the name of and searching around hasn't proved helpful, perhaps somebody here could put a name to it so I at least know what I'm searching for? It's a mount which allows something to rotate horizontally a full 360 degrees continuously (similar to the column rotation on a tripod) however the object to be rotated needs cables passed to it through the mount unhindering the rotation - some sort of contact connection? Ideally I want the mount to have a powered rotation but putting a name to this would get me on the right track. Thanks in advance. Garrett

Hi everyone. I was hoping to harness the creativity and arcane knowledge of the Instructables community. The company I work for just launched an internal competition to rename our intranet site. I was thinking of submitting something linked to the word star (our new logo is based on the star Polaris) and to include some reference that the higher ups wouldn't spot. Any ideas? Deathstar seems too obvious, Skynet might make it through, but I am certain people out in instructaworld have some sweet ideas! (keeping with full disclosure, if I hypothetically win I do get a prize but I would much more enjoy seeing a joke in the intranet name for the next few years! I keep busting up when I get to call something T-101 on an industrial site :D )

I have a trampoline, and I can do a pretty good amount of tricks. And recently I was looking for a new trick to learn. I found one that I thought was cool, but I don't know the name. What it is, is a 180 aerial (no handed cartwheel). Most of the time when someone is performing it, they are transferring from trampoline to trampoline at an indoor trampoline arena. If you know what trick I am talking about please tell me.

I have noticed that the author's names are not attatched to the posts anymore, i.e. -"My Post" By:Tinker83- in the intro. is this going to be a permanent fixture or is it something temporary? it's not a huge problem, but its kind of nice to just look up and see who wrote it.

Aight, so I've come up with a cheerwine mixer, that (as far as I've seen) hasn't been made and named before, so I'm looking for awesome name suggestions, thanks! Cheerwine (12 oz glass bottle preferably) Approx 1 Tblsp Lime Juice (fresh is best, but more spensive/difficult) Splash of lemon Approx 1 shot Cherry Moonshine (More or less according to taste) Any Ideas?

Hello! I read instructables for a very long time, and today I decided to create an account. So, I've done it with my GMail, and got very strange name - "ВикторЦ1". IDK what does it mean, and how to change it. So, I always use nickname "Tsycunoff", and my real name is Victor Tsycunov, or Виктор Цыкунов in cyrillic. Saw this I thought - OK, lets create a profile manually, but i saw that name "tsycunoff" is already using. At settings pannel i didnt find form to change my nickname. So, the question is: How can I change my nickname at instructables.
