Hello everyone, So here is the deal, I wanna make a necklace that has a little camera inside that can shoot small videos, just for those moments when you wish you had a video camera, so you just happen to be wearing one. I thought about buying one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Lighter-Spy-DVR-USB-Mini-DV-Hidden-Camera-Camcorder-/150632633728?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D8%26pmod%3D230632642485%252B230632642485%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D1442896368867548212&_qi=RTM637057#ht_2083wt_1139 and adapting with the following tutorial. https://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Hidden-Camera-on-the-cheap-Lighter-mod-B/ The main problem I am seeing is that I want to keep all the electronics towards the back of the necklace, with just the camera at the front. That means I need to extend the ribbon cable which looks extremely tricky, and I dont know where I would buy one from. Does anyone have any ideas on this? -Derek

Ha, got yer attention with that subject didn't I?But it's true. Check out Margeaux Lange's site for more pictures. These are strangely gorgeous...Clearly she's got the jewelry-making skills to do a top-notch job but I think someone with as much imagination but less metalworking skill could do a reasonable imitation.

There are necklaces that consist of a tiny vial with a grain of rice in them with usually your name written on them. They suspend the rice in a clear oil. I was wondering what oil is used. Thanks!!

So one of my favorite things ever is Nicolas Cage. A friend at work told me I should put his picture in a locket and I 1-up'd her. I can't wait to wear it to work and dance around in front of her. :D The necklace is make of the body of an old watch that I completely gutted. The necklace is one of those memory wire chokers you can get really cheap at craft stores. I cut the picture out of the paper case that came with the special edition of Ghost Rider. I'm pretty excited. I wanted to post it, but I didn't know that it would qualify as a slideshow. What do you think? I'll probably just leave it in the forums. :P

Hi all, Another beaded necklace topic (sorry!) but I was wondering what tools/equipment/technique/materials I would use to make this sort of thing. I notice some are knotted, but generally I'd like to know how to make more complex patterns either knotted or unknotted. Any simple patterns/books, I'd love to take a look. Cheers! http://www.klimt02.net/jewellers/ulla-ahola

Growing up I use to love playing with Play-Doh. Something about the color, the texture, and the smell. Oh, the smell… I remember I use to play with this contraption that I would attach little people to, that had holes in the tops of their heads. I would crank a lever and the little people would grow Play-Doh hair. I had hours of entertainment cutting and re-growing hair. Ipad what? Oh, how entertaining kids has changed. I never imaged that I would get the chance to play with clay again in my thirties. To create my Oscar de la Renta look I decided to grab some clay and go to town. Unfortunately this clay did not have the Play-Doh smell I remember, but I still had just as much fun creating with it. Click here for the full tutorial!

I have recently come by 2 very fresh and very real Owl's Talons. Theyre about 4-5 inches long and look really awesome. I want to make necklaces out of them, preferably with them grasping/holding a stone of some sort. The problem is I have no idea how to do this since these are real. I dont know much about taxidermy at all or if its totally necessary here and I'm not sure how to clean them either. I'm also not sure how to set the toes to make them grasp anything. Basically I dont know the first thing about this project and need all the help I can get. Plus its for a girl so I will really REALLY appreciate everyone that helps me out. :) Here is an image of the talons, I hope it makes things easier. http://yfrog.com/89picture002bwj (also if there is any question about it, no i did not go out and kill some poor owl)

So, Valentine's day is soon to be here. True, it is little early to be thinking about this, but the erly bird gets the early worm. So, anyways, I came with a schematic for an LED based necklace. The whole idea is that it consists of a symmetrical shape split into two halves, each an individual necklace. One of those two contains an LED and the other a battery, and when the two are placed together, they complete the shape and the LED lights up, symbolic of her being my other half. What I need help with is how can I build the contacts for the two halves and how do I actually build the two parts(what material to make them from, how to shape them, etc..)Much appreciated. hanks in advance, Usf

My daughter and I are trying to make some necklaces for her friends. We are having 2 problems that are occurring. 1. after we glue the picture inside the bottle cap.. we wait about 10 minutes to let glue set then pour resin on top... after several hours of the resin starting to dry the pictures start to lift up.. 2. we are having problems with the colors bleeding.. espicially if there is white involved... the colors seem to dull! How long does it normally take for resin to set? Please help! Thanks so much! Mom and Katie!

Help! I'm trying to make a necklace that lights up when i come near to it... My plan is to attach a LED to a small glass ball and give it to my wife so that when i'm near it lights up. I thought of a remote that uses Bluetooth although i don't think a receiver can fit to a simple necklace, and i actually don't have any idea how to make a remote.

I like to carve bone and wood, and I was wondering if there is a carvable material out there that will last for a long time. Possibly something inorganic, like a plastic. The material needs to be carvable, colorfast, waterproof, and pretty strong. Any ideas? I've though of Corian, but I hear it's quite brittle.

Collodial Silver (silver ions in suspension - usually water) is supposed to have antiseptic properties. Do you think it would be enough to simply place a piece of solid silver jewellery into water to get more or less the same effect - even if the item was left in solution for, say, a week or so? Thanks.

Hi, I'm trying to create a type of whipping/knot to attach two boar's tusks together like the one in the attached picture and am looking for a photo tutorial on how to do so (I found how to knot the necklace part) I'd really appreciate any pointers, websites, books you could recommend. I've looked in quite a few knot books, and the closest I've seen is the "moku whipping" but there was no photo tutorial. Not even a written one (though I'm miserable at following written directions anyway). Any help would be appreciated! TIA!

Okay I see these small microkilns it is a kiln for the microwave, mostly used for fusing glass, making glass jewelry, but at ceramics daily I saw a post that said you could fire clay in them, now I know that terracotta is an earthen clay, I make terracotta pendants for essential oil it's just a small necklace for difusing oils on a necklace. but using air dry clay the don't last long and are so brittle so I need to fire them, and use them unglazed so just firing them. I can't find not one person to answer me I just want to be sure it can be fired in one before I purchase. Thank You so much!
