Why am i so addicted to instructables?

I need some idea's for a project. I have a broken ipod i want to use. everything in the ipod works the files are just messed up. So i have a click wheel, hardrive, screen, and whatever else is in an ipod mini! Some friends and i are also throwing around idea's about a senior prank of sorts at our school and if we could use this to "brodcast" stuff over the intercom, or use the camera's or control lights or sumthing!!! we would love it!!! so if you will please let me know what you think

I have a 4 battery pack  i want to use for an usb charger i need ro know what diode i need to use the battery pack gives off close to 6 v but i have a USB DC-DC Converter 3V to 5V 1A Adjustable Step-up Boost Power Supply Module. I know i need a diode i need so that the current from what  im chargeing does not go back into the battery but at the same time i need the batteries to give off as close to 5 v that it can work with the module. what i need is which one can i use to so this?

HI. So I need to slightly depress the button on a digital camera every three minutes or so. SO if there was some device that gave me a little movement every 3 minutes I could lock it into an enclosure with the camera and everything would work. I can imagine the invention but I don't know the names of the electrical components needed. Thanks in advance for your help.

I need some help trying to make a circuit for an instructable im gonna post. its supposed to be a candy jar, with leds in the cap, but i cant figure out a ciruit for all the Leds to be on a series circuit. can some one tell me if this is possible, or do the leds have to be on a parrallel circuit. im new to electronics.

Hi! I'm kind of new here, and I need some help. I have remote control dump truck in 1:14 scale, and I'm going to make a trailer for it. The truck itself has lights (blinkers, reverse, brake, standlight, etc.). So would it be possible to make some kind of wireless control system for trailer lights, so I don't need to connect always cable to the trailer? There is one wireless control system for situations like this, but it's so expensive.   I have been thinking about making it with IR leds. Is it possible to make it work by connecting IR led to for example reverse light's cable and then some kind of IR receiver to trailer? Give me some ideas and if you have some solutions or something that would help, let me know. :) Thanks for help ( my english may be bad, i'm from finland :D )

I have a small 1/4 HP electric motor that runs @1750 rpms  I tried to put a basic dimmer switch on it to help regulate the speed but it it still runs wide open. Should this work or what can I do?

This is the first place that popped into my mind when I decided I needed a new idea. I am in a Photography class at my high school and I need help getting some ideas thrown at me. And no, this wouldn't be cheating since I'm not taking your ideas directly. I just think better when there are different ideas flying around. Basically the assignment is to shoot a frame within a frame photograph. Meaning the subject in the picture is framed by something. It doesn't have to be a literal frame, like something out of wood or steel. For example, the subject's face can be framed by their arms and hands. A couple things to keep in mind is no animals, no artwork (as in preexisting), and of course nothing that would be distasteful in a school setting.

I have a pvc bar made from 1 1/2" pvc schedule 40. the longest vertical pieces are 18" or less...I have a fishtank on it a 1/4 full and having 2nd thoughts.. Any guesses,estimates,educated insight on whether this will hold 0hh 450-475lbs ie 50gallon tank minimal gravel and deco plus fish lights etc...I'm still elaning towards I think so but i have a lot of electronics in the same room right now i dont need soaked.... And obviously I'm not holding anyone accountable for their opinion...

Looking for help with my new project. I want to power my mechanical arm using hydraulics.  I would prefer to use a joystick controller.  I want this arm to be able to hold a hedge cutting machine. The arm will have the same freedom of movement as a human arm. Eventually I want to use this arm on a machine such as a bobcat or similar device. For now I just need to be able to power this arm and then I can go from there. Anyone up for a challenge???? Hi, i need help, i've built a hybrid gun, its a brute spiker by halo123guns and the 7shot rifle by knexagon, if they don't mind i will post it, it has a 10 round mag and can be increased easily, it is a pistol aswell, and is pretty beastly, looks like a nerf maverick a bit, i compared it with my own maverick, but enough about that, i have one problem, my elastic bands are getting caught just before the bullets, stopping me from firing all ten in succession, (ignore typos) i'll get some pictures up as soon as i can, but if anyone has an idea it would be much appreciated =]

I've almost finished my M4 SOPMOD. One problem. I need help making a SOPMOD kit. If you want to help, you can be a collaborator in the 'ible.  Also, for my next project, I would like to make an XM29 OICW. I've included a picture for those of you who don't know what that is. I'd like it to be a collaborative project. Hopefully, The top portion would be a repeating mag fed sling (Pseudo-Semi auto?), and the bottom part would be a mag fed repeater (semi auto?). they would be modular, and be able to fire separately. Also, it would be cool if when connected, they both fired with the same trigger.  If pulled off right, this project could be very innovate, and advance knex considerably. That is, if good range could be achieved. Also, it would be an awesome replica. I'm not sure which part I'll do, but it'd be great if some people wanted to be part of it, and if these people had some good ideas for mechs.

Hi there, I'm messing around with a cheap Chinese camera I got a while back and was looking to replace the rather poor camera with a nicer, clearer one. I'm a complete newbie at doing this as this is as far as I can get!! It seems there is a clip in camera for the circuit board but now I have no idea how to search for another compatible one to buy online. I've typed in 'camera circuit board replacement' and 'clip in camera part' etc. etc. but to no avail. Here are some also rather poor images of the camera in question but hopefully it's enough for someone to point me in the right direction of another replacement module that would snap in and work!  OK I am new at this.. we got a xbox360 box but there is no remote.. how do I hook it up when my wifi computer doesn't have the same hook ups at all.. eg. computer has no RCA"s but the tv does..I don't have the remote. I have no idea how to do this...help me.?

I am building a vdg and i need to cut a hole threw a heavy duty stainless steal bowl. how do i cut threw it because it is thick at the bottom. could i drill threw it? or is there any place i can take it to to get cut. i have a sawzaw and and a drill? i don't think that will do it. any ideas on how to do it.

I bought a dimmer switch for a 110v motor. i hooked it up and turned it on, it went to fast for what i need it to and it was on the lowest setting. it is a 600w slide dimmer switch. is there any way i could make it slower?
