My final product! It's pretty DAM awesome! Directional, Attack, Mine aka DAM! Looking forward to making a video and instructable soon! Be on the lookout for my DAM K'nex mine! Just a few stats... Uses 30 size 64 rubber bands to shoot 50 pieces up to 100ft at the slightest pull of the trip! I really had a lot of fun with this build I hope everyone that gives it a try will too! Big thanks to JonnyBGood for inspiring the design of the stand. I was able to use his idea and turn it into this great stand with 5 adjustable angles for different angles of attack depending on range of intended target and ground terrain or angles. All around this is an incredibly fun weapon to add to the arsenal.

After looking around, I have decided to make a Mini-Instructable (Therefore Forum Topic) about how to not be a noob. This will be targeted for Instructables, but most goes on any site. It is also partly targeted on knexers. Step one, The name.Well, a lot goes by what your name is, don't say something like I_Love_Knex_Guns, choose something like Dsman, TheDunkis, Kiteman,Adrian Monk, Goodhart, Dj Radio, Jollex or The Jamalam. Also, try to use one that you use on other Websites, like Mepain, Kiteman or DutchJStep Two, the profile pic, Well, most people hate people who don't even change their display pic, so try to AT LEAST change it a bit. Some people actually use photoshop, like Dsman, or go even further and get one specially crafted by a true master ( IE Oblivitus) Try to get something that reflects either your name, or your interests.Step Three, ActivityWell, posting some Comments is Vital, and the whole point of Intructables is Instructables is just that, Post some Ibles! Don't be all nutty saying "This is my first Instructable, So be nice!'Forum topics are also quite important.Step four, Grammar Grammar is not a NOOB issue, but a lot more people will like you, and try to help improve it that way. Also, there is a Spell check button RIGHT beside the buttons near the Post sign, so USE IT!Step five, Activity Part two ( Bonus Points)Some things that are help you get more popular is greeting new people with nice warm welcomes. Jollex has done this quite often, with a personally Knex-related greeting, as have many other people. Another thing people do is search "knex" and the go to recent, and post something nice on all the new ibles (Block triggers and Et Cetrea Exempt)Example of a great welcome.Welcome!I noticed you'd joined the site, and also that you seem to be a K'NEX fan. That's brilliant! We have a lot of keen K'NEXers here, and we're quite a busy community on the site. Can I ask you to remember a few things, though? We are keen to show off K'NEX in its best light here, so please read these points carefully:(if you don't you run the risk of being labeled as a "noob")Pictures. One of the keys to a good Instructable is good photography. Please, don't use photos where the important bits are too small to see, or out of focus. Use good lighting and the macro mode of your camera. If you do not have macro, make sure things are in focus, then use an image editor to crop off the bits you don't need. Even Paint will do this.Text.This site is used by people all over the world. Lots of them don't speak English as their first language, and use translation websites to read your work. Please, do your best to use proper spelling and grammar, and avoid things like "u", and "r".GunsNow, as K'NEX gunners, we are dedicated to innovation. Innovative guns are what the K'NEXers what to see. But don't limit your self to guns, as some K'NEXers are annoyed by all the guns. And, please, no more little 12 piece guns.More! You know K'NEX is about more than guns, and so do I, so let's see your other projects - have you designed a clever robot arm? A new vehicle? A ball-sorter? Show us!Again, welcome to the site, and to the K'NEX community, and thank you for taking the time to read these hints. For more info click here.>Your name here<Well thanks, and I don't really think this needs a Whole ible, but If anyone wants to collaborate one, PM Me.

I just wanted to let the community know I am still alive and well. Also check out this new directional mine I've been working on. It is an early prototype but it is currently shooting 25-50 green rods 50ft with a good spread! Check out the video to get a sense of the impact. Here is the link! http://youtu.be/qjnVRb7sp6o pic below is random Also one last thing while it is fresh on my mind... I've noticed a growing number of designs that use modified K'nex pieces that are cut or mangled somehow to get the gun to function or look a certain way. I'm not saying that this is a sin however I would like to challenge each of us to challenge ourselves by building guns that are true K'nex guns with true K'nex unmodified parts. I have been guilty of this once in the past myself so don't take this to heart. All I am asking is this... I am impressed and more inclined to build a gun that doesn't required or include any broken pieces over a gun that requires any. It is a pet peeve of mine because to me the art of building is using what we are given and creating with wit and ingenuity something great! Again I am not condemning people... I only trying to encourage the art of K'nex guns that don't use broken/modified pieces. Lets do our best to clean up our work and build impressive guns without changing the pieces! Thank you to those that build clean keep it up I am excited by the community at large. It is very cool to see everyone's designs I learn from each and everyone of your creations! Keep up the good work, and lets continue to get better! 06-21-13 Ok I spent some time working on this new powerful directional mine and I must say it is pretty cool. The prototype was built specifically with power in mind. Every part of the prototype is bulky and heavily reinforced. Because of its sturdy design I have loaded it up with over 20 size 64 rubberbands which as you could imagine has quite a bit of force behind it! So naturally it shot pretty incredible. My issue with it was not how it functioned but how it looked and considering I built it more as a test of concept than an actual product to use in a war I wanted to scale it down and see if it still preformed as well in a much smaller package. IT DOES! The newer more compact design is currently being built and tested. Initial tests are promising and I am truly excited to release the designs ASAP. The goal of my new compact mine is to have a easy to use sturdy mine that could be loaded up with 25green rods or more and shoot then in a good pattern directionally at the desired target at 25-50ft away. This is a tall order for such a compact less rigid design. However initial tests are promising. One more thing... I plan on releasing a series of Instructables on how to build my favorite "war" creations. I realized that many of my favorite designs have never had proper building instructions. It is important to me that my designs are up to date and made clear for everyone so that the build is flawless. I can promise this... My designs are only as good as those that build them mean this... If my designs are not followed piece by piece, step by step, then don't expect the same or even similar results that my guns or whatever were designed to achieve. If I say to use a size 64 rubberband that means use it. lol. I promise that result will vary greatly if not built completely and utterly the same as I show. LOL with all that being said I plan on releasing instructables for the following... My latest designed TR8, Grenade, Directional Mine, Fin Ammo, and more. The first release will most likely not be for a few weeks at a minimum depending on when I have time to due so. Again thank you everyone for your support over the years I hope you have had fun building with me and I plan on continued builds in the future. Keep a lookout for the new 2013 instructions!
