When I visited MITERS last month, someone was giving away their entire collection of Wired Magazine. I happen to have a current issue in my bag, and it was fun to compare their relative sizes. It's interesting that I also happen to be wearing a Digg shirt in the picture...

This is the most useless piece of wasted technology ever; the "men's groomer" "as seen on tv" !!!!!! I've bought two of these, planning to build from them something more useful, that is a circular etcher / drill and a sort of sliding saw, to etch / smooth / saw materials like hardened paperclay, glass, balsa wood and terracotta; but surely I've presumed to be smarter than I'm in electronics..... So I'm stuck with these two pieces of useless stuff in hand; do you know how to get an etcher and a saw from these? I'm sure there're many smart guys here. This may be one of the smartest instructables ever.

Okay I've procrastinated long enough to do something with my ibook's heatsink. As some may or may not know, ibooks come with thermal pads, which I unwittedly removed the old one off mine, thinking it could be replaced with good old generic thermal paste..which technically would be better for it.Unfortunatly folks the heatsink wasn't designed to clamp down onto the cpu like a normal heatsink should do, as it has to cover several different gpu/memory chips of different sizes, making a small gap between the heatsink and cpu.I've heard of people using a square or even round piece of steel or copper or something to wedge in with some thermal paste. Well, all I can think of off hand to use that might work is some sheet metal that has some white paint or something coated on one side, and a round steel (?) rod out of an old printer that's been sitting around. I presume the latter would probably be better.Can someone suggest what would be best? Should I try cutting it with a hack saw or try getting someone's bandsaw so I can get a better cut? Right now my ibook is reporting a cpu temp of 53 of Celcious, which really, compared to when it's turned on from a cold start, is really F***** slow and very laggy, it often hangs for minutes at a time. It's horrible to use sometimes, but at the same time it owes me absolutely nothing so I won't cry if it burns out.

So, when I went to Youtube one day, I watched a Rockband video. And I'm like... okay, why did this person put different music on the video? Then I realized it was on most youtube videos. THEN, my favorite Youtube account was suspended. Why was all of this happening? Copywriting. I mean, most people probably bought the song off of Zune or Itunes. Most videos that look awesome are ruined because of the earache-cheap-cheesy garbage youtube puts onto videos. I think we should start a boycott or someone should start a petition or something! Does anyone have any other ideas?

I'm not sure what to do with it... Should I try to restore it, clean it up a bit, find some film on eBay, and use it?Or should I polish it up a bit and see how much I can sell it for?I like film cameras and all, but this one's a bit bulky... And I already have a really good Canon SLR that takes 35mm film, so I don't need another film camera, and I got a nice Polaroid too (what you think of first when someone says "Polaroid", not a camera made by Polaroid that isn't a Polaroid but is a Polaroid because it's made by them).So, here's some pics, taken with my Kodak. What do you think?BTW, Let me know if you want me to post more... I've opened it up already, I can do it again.

Someone keeps crank calling us. They did it 10 times in a row the last time. When we hung up, they called us again 5 seconds later. However, we can't block the number because whoever is calling us turned off their caller ID, so all we see is "Unknown name, unknown number". Do you guys have any ideas? This is pissing me off really bad!

Unless i constrain myself this will sound like one of Gordon Ramsays shows... ;-) Fu blo he. It's fung time to do something about those bloo videos that stu people are carpet bombing Instructables with. ! Please limit the possibility of posting an unlimited amount of instructables/slideshows/videos per 24 hour period. One (1) per 24 hours are quite enough for anyone that are actually doing something good and not just carpet bombing/spamming crappy videos from Metacafe to get some money. As a temporary solution maybe just banning Metacafe-videos would help remove those obnoxious spammers. Or can you also get payed by videos on Youtube/Google? Talking in friendly manner to these guys doesn't really help. It only fixes (possibly) the problem with one guy, but there will just come more and more of them all the time. (The image of Gordon is stolen from telegraph.co.uk - sorry about that...)

There's has been a lot of bullying around instructables lately, especially the chatroom. One person to bring up is named "adman". So all of you know(i don't like him either), he hasn't done much "hacking". Everything he does is pretty basic. The ads that come up are part of meebo even if he isn't there. The ads are what make meebo free. When everyone is randomly warned, he is just warning everyone. And when he pretends to be someone and changes the same color, the same can be done if you are a meebo member. Finally, when he makes clones, he is just opening a bunch of tabs. I do not want everyone to worry about this person. He is a bad influence and should be ignored. Don't listen to anything he says. He is mean and should not be trusted. If he logs on, block him immediately so he will not annoy you. Another thing is that some people's feeling are getting hurt because the adman is trying to pretend to be the person and says bad things. If this happens, just ignore and not say anything. Eventually, the adman should get bored and leave(i hope...). I hope you guys have a nice time at instructables and ignore the negative stuff that happens. It's just part of life. The world isn't perfect and none in the world is liked by everyone. I hope you have a nice day and treat others nicely. Happy ibling.

Gave notice at work today, strangely the boss was super enthusiastic about my leaving, oh well. So last day is officially the 26th, but I'll take a personal day and make the 22nd my last day. So most of my games have been laggy for a week now and they werent before. I did a virus scan, malware, almost everything I could find. Call of duty black ops was running fine then it went and stayed below 10 FPS, CoD Black Ops 2 lags and it didn't it stayed below 40. This is a fairly new computer, it is an Alien ware with a Core I5, Nvidia geforece 650M, 6GB ram. I could run these games on fair settings then it just got unplay able. I dont have avg, and I run these games from steam. Thanks

During my early morning walk today I came across the following creature - it was a huge, about 9 inches (23 cm) across. It was the most beautiful gigantic moth I have ever seen in these parts.It is a Giant Silkworm Moth also known as a Saturnid Moth. This one is (for whatever reasons) called the Cyclops. I just had to share some pictures of one (not my pictures....I didn't have my camera with me).' Isn't he just gorgeous?

Fishing that is. I got to spend 6 hours today on the Mosquito Lagoon with a professional fishing guide. This was my first time with a pro and it was insanely fun. This guy knew more about fishing than I could even imagine existed. The fishing was a little slow, and the guide cussed a blue streak when we got to his best spot and found a kayaker wading around aimlessly spooking the fish. But I still had a great time and landed the three biggest fish of the day a 14 lb Red and two sea trout 6 & 4 lbs. Numerous smallertrout were caught and released.

From the BBC: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a bill that officially classifies beer as alcoholic. Until now anything containing less than 10% alcohol in Russia has been considered a foodstuff. The move, signed into law on Wednesday, will allow ministers to control the sale of beer in the same way that spirits are controlled. Russian alcohol consumption is already twice the critical level set by the World Health Organization. Although vodka has long been the traditional tipple in Russia, beer has soared in popularity, being marketed as a healthier alternative to spirits. Over the past decade, beer sales in Russia have risen more than 40% while vodka sales have fallen by nearly 30%. Correspondents say it is common to see people swigging beer in the street and in parks as if they are drinking soft drinks. It is not restricted to certain stores and is sold around the clock.

I've just noticed - if you enclose a comment in , they don't show up on your "comments" page. You just get an empty space with the name of the person who posted it. I guess the system thinks that the contents of are supposed to be code of some sort, but it's an odd effect anyway. As an aside - what is the best you can do with the image below? (The second version is a PNG file, just in case you'd prefer.) Lemonie's video...
