I have a cool idea that parodies nerf and keeps you from losing oodammo at the same time! Put a strip of velcro on the front of the rounds (the red bit that faces forward), and when fired, they should stick to your victim's shirt depending on their material. You can easily tell if they have been hit or not with this, and it makes for easy recovery afterwards.

Well, I just have finals this week and then I'm done with school. Long story short, I got into classes at the college and they finish earlier than the high school does so I pretty much will be graduated but without a diploma for a couple weeks. Fun! Anyways, I'm not in the mood for making anything big. However, I did want to put this to rest if need be. Do we need another oodammo pistol? Let's just take a quick poll. What's everyone's favorite oodammo pistol and why? No, I don't need ego food so be honest. Next, what don't you like about your favorite? What could be improved with it? If I do find enough valid suggestions, I'll make a 4th oodassault pistol. If I find that it's mostly just a matter of preference between features (i.e. size/pieces/looks vs durability, clips vs magazines, etc.) then I'll leave it at that. Others will be welcome to leach off this thread and try their hand at one too as long as they announce that they are doing so.

This is the contest me and TD were/are organizing. LOADING MeZak: 4/5. Very, very quick. OodAst3.6: 4/5. Not quite as quick as the MeZak, but it makes up for it in comfort. TBOS: 1/5. Truly agonizing. EAP: 3/5. Not bad. Tougher and more time consuming than the OodAst and MeZak, but much better than the TBOS. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY / DURABILITY (Note, I'm rating according to how "Bendy" they feel.) MeZak: 4/5. Really sturdy. Barely any bend. OodAst: 4/5. Really sturdy, but again, just barely less sturdy than the MeZak. But not so much as to lower it a whole point. TBOS: 2/5. Only 3 layers. Bendy, bendy, bendy. EAP: 4/5. 5 layers, so it's obviously pretty good. RANGE (The first range is with 2 #64's, the second is with the maximum amount. Measurement was averaged out of 5 shots. I used Google Earth, but I promise I didn't cheat.) MeZak: 4/5. 39 feet. 63 feet. (Max. of 6 bands.) OodAst. 3/5. 44 feet. 52 feet. (Max. of 4 bands.) TBOS. 3/5. 41 feet. 41 feet. (Max. of 2 bands.) EAP: 2.5/5. 37 feet. 37 feet. (Max. of 2 bands.) FINAL SCORES MeZak: 12/15. #1 OodAst: 11/15. #2 TBOS: 6/15. #4 Ouch EAP: 9.5/15. #3 So, congrats MeZak, you win. (Though, I'd like to point out, this is based pretty much entirely on performance, not personal opinion.)

So, another Oodammo pistol. *sigh* I'm probably not going to post it, unless many people want me to. It looks cool, has neat blade sights, and a removable mag. So, what do you think? Is it good, or bad, or neither? Please comment, and rate! - Owen. Edit : This is long gone, and now a ZKAR V2 Which is amazing! Although, now since I got my first Airsoft rifle, I'm probably going to cut back on the guns. :-P

Me and cj81499 did a testing session to see which gun is better. T.B.A.P ( Killer~SafeCracker) oodammo pistol ( Owen-Mon-82397) We did 6 tests to see which is better using 2 #64's for T.B.A.P and 1 for oodammo pistol. The results were: Range: oodammo pistol Has better range with the bands we were using ( #64's) Piercing power (Red rod muzzle loaded): T.B.A.P has better piercing power in 2 pieces of paper. Strength: As in body strength. They both broke on the 2nd drop. Trigger guard, magazines and chain all broke. Height: Pretty much range but with opposing gravity. Oodammo pistol has better height by about 5 feet. Accuracy: T.B.A.P has better accuracy with NYPA's shot Vs. cj81499's shot with the Oodammo pistol. Target was a soda can from 10 feet (approximately) Rapid fire capability: Oodammo pistol won with cj81499's hand at pulling back the ram Vs NYPA's hand. Well the score is this T.B.A.P: 2 and a draw Oodammo pistol 3 and a draw Comment on the bottom. EDIT: these results are on a unstable scale. As DJ radio and Killer~SafeCracker pointed out, somebody should build BOTH guns and see what they area t a stable hand. But as you notice we pointed out that it was our different hands.

Well I built this one in a couple hours, i tried making a reliable Oodammo assault weapon that would use a minimum of pieces, because I am starting to run out, and I need a good assault weapon. It uses a slightly modified version of s0lekill3er's Oodammo Shotbow's magazine, so the mag is horizontal,I tried making it vertical, but it wouldn't work with the amount of ammo and the style I wanted in it. It gets decent range, I got it to shoot Oodammo about 25-30 feet, and it is very accurate. The magazine is removable, it isn't all that practical, but it will come off in a few seconds. The standard magazine capacity is 15, but that can we made bigger or smaller by replacing a few rods. Any criticism is appreciated and wanted, as long as it is constructive, I just tried making a small assault weapon, using Oodammo as a primary form of ammunition, and without using any black rods. The stock was thrown together rather quickly, and is only there for the firing pin guide

Question by The Red Book of Westmarch | last reply
I had nothing better to do so I decided to build a mini pistol for the heck of it. Very little effort was put into this so don't expect much. I guess it's something simple you could build plenty of for small wars with friends indoors. Well there's not much else to say. It gets max pin use from the tan rod pin so it should be satisfying range wise. It's durable enough to survive some small falls on carpet for sure. I just reset the trigger manually each time so that I didn't have to waste another rubber band. You can push it back while the pin is still resting but it'll catch once you pull it back. I didn't bother putting a mag pusher on but that shouldn't be hard to do. You can extend the handle if you want to. By the way I sort of discovered a new barrel. Away with black hand barrels. If you stick a green rod in the gaps like so but also do so on the other side, it creates a barrel that fits rods quite well. Until someone fulfills my request in my other thread, I'm at a lost for project ideas. Any requests? Something small preferably.

Here is my review for the Oodammo Shotbow by s0lekill3r: Power: 7/10, it could be more but the bands have to push two rams, not one. Range: 7/10, as above really. Looks: 9/10, it may not have been made for looks (I don't know)but it certainly looks great, especially in metallic pieces, like almost everything. Accuracy: 9/10, I doubt it could go higher seeing as it uses the special 'oodammo' but I've decided to leave room for improvement as a new kind of technique may be developed. Using just two green rods and a complete hinge you can make an accurate sight. Comfort: 5/10, the handle is a bit of a fail as it requires a broken piece in order to be more comfortable (blue connector). The firing pin 'tray' also goes into your thumb. Ease of use: 7/10, the ram is very easy to use and pull back but the loading technique is a bit confusing as you have to:- remove the ammo pushers, insert oodammo and get it in the grooves then place back the ammo pushers. All in all, I would rate it 8/10 but a definite build (once s0lekill3r has posted instructions), it's very fun to play with and can fire fast if you use it correctly. Good work s0lekill3r.

Alright so I wanted to settle this very simply. Our good buddy Knex lover is willing to build quite a few oodammo pistols, test them personally, and then do a quick, short review of all of them. The process is simple. The MeZak is pretty much a given so I'm going to just put that on the list right away. The next few guns will be chosen by you, the knexers. Nominate any oodammo pistol you wish as long as you give a fair reason for why. You may choose a couple if you wish. Anyone who nominates their own weapon must also pick another as well. They do not have to be posted yet as long as they will be eventually. 3 nominations are required to get on the list. The 5 with the most nominations will be selected. 1. MeZak 2. TBOS (5) 3. OodAst 3.6 (3) 4. Jamoodassault (3) 5. EAP (3)

I've noticed, with guns like the MeZak, my new one and the V2, and a quite a few others, the ammo sort of spazzes out and flips around when fired, and isn't accurate. But with guns like the TBOS, Lowney's small oodammo pistol, etc. and TBAP the ammo flies straight. It's about 2 accurate ones for every one flippy one. Can someone explain why?
Question by The Jamalam | last reply
EDITI will NOT post the gun. Don't ask. However, I will be nice and get more pictures/closeups of the gun tomorrow so you can build off of that. This is my own oodammo pistol. Its not as generic as the others out there, because its the first one to have a slide. The slide can pull back more force that it looks like it can, because of a simple 3 part mechanism in there. It also comes with better ROF, but I haven't done tests as to how fast it can shoot yet.The gun also comes with a new (Well u8mycookies on KI made it first, but I made mine without looking at his. BTW, Darth Gecko Man can go sod off.) removable mag (Well, I have never seen it done before anyways.), it holds 8 shots and can be preloaded and stored in pockets for knex wars. Its pretty powerful, even with one band, I haven't done proper range tests yet, but I think it can shoot 40 feet with one band. I've been shooting this in my parent's bedroom, and it can hit the wall and return 5 feet from my position. 2 times the ammo has returned to my position broken in half.Credit goes to zak for trigger and handle. EDIT- I have had some complaints that the mag isn't mine. I made my mag without looking at the one on KI, I never knew it existed until today, and I DO NOT GO LOOK AT KI SH*T ANYMORE. Now with that taken care of, if you still have a problem, go away and don't come back. Video:

Vote on these 5 things and I will do my best to build them for you. 1.knex vacuum (cleans up knex) 2.piece counter (pour in knex and it counts them) 3.piece sorter (pour in knex and it sorts a specific piece out) 4.oodammo (pour in the right components, pull the lever and out comes oodammo ) 5. Or something else_________________ (choose your own) 6. a working musical instrument EDIT: The piece sorter is posted here! https://www.instructables.com/id/Rod-sorting-machine/

This is a semi-automatic oodjamaflick gun, or SAOG. I say oodjamaflick, but it's not actually oodjamaflicks, just a modified oodjamaflick. To the uninitiated, oodjamaflicks are the original oodammo; ammo that oodalumps' made for rubber band guns four months before oodammo. Nothing special, just a semi-automatic that gets more than ten feet. Fifteen feet more, to be precise. Total of twenty-five feet. That is, if you want a four round magazine. Here's the thing about this gun, you can have a higher magazine capacity if you are willing to sacrifice some range. You could have a one shot that went about forty feet- but then it wouldn't be semi-automatic, would it? Hit the link for more pictures and a video. http://knexinnovation.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t;=989 Or a real link for those too lazy to copy/paste. knexinnovation.net/forums/viewtopic.php Yes, this is a shameless promotion for KI and it's ability to host pictures from other sites easily.

I just made a gun with a 10 bullet magazine that shoot's 72.1784778 feet!!!!!!!!!!!!! with four rubberbands!!!!!! I think it can hold more but I haven't tried yet. What I wanted to know is how to make a good measurement system for proving range, I would appreciate if someone could tell me. (Also I told people my oodammo sniper shot 90 feet, this was a mistake, I thought a meter was 4.5 feet). I will soon post a video proving the (unangled) range. Edit: I will not post the video since there is so little interest

I've had this idea for a while, and I am kinda assuming that it is a pretty bad one, but do any of you think that a K'NEX riot shield would be of any use? At least, in an out door K'NEX war? If it could withstand a 5 rubber banded oodammo from a TR8, would it even have a chance of being used? And, keep in mind, I'm not talking about making a cheaply done K'NEX shield like the ones we've all seen here on instructables, I'm talking about a good quality, sturdily built, K'NEX riot shield. What do you guys think? (this forum topic was written in haste, grammar and punctuation are not of the best) -The Red Book of Westmarch (which, when shortened, comes to TRBoW, which probably means that I should build a turreted bow)

Well I still didn't feel up to making an entirely new weapon so I tried improving the oodast...again. The main concern with everyone last time was reliability so I fixed that. It's a lot more reliable. I'll spare you the rest of the details until the movie so just watch it. For those who don't want to or can't want watch the video for some reason here's what I did. I changed it to a yellow rod magazine. Tan was alright but really big compared to the rest of the pistol and it left a lot of room for reliability errors. Blue is simply too small for my tastes. This is a nice average. I changed the mag pusher a little so that an extra part extends around the guide rod and it helps keep the pin locked more securely using a "weaker" connection to keep it compact. The magazine was actually moved forward a bit. I'm not sure how much of an increase to range this gave but I guess every few inches can make a difference. The mag "tilter" is now a straight pull back mechansim instead of a push up. I find this a little more comfortable. I also made another minor mod that stills somewhat nice is that I finally made a new safety to work with the version 3 series entirely. It's pretty simple. There's a black hand and a blue cap on the trigger guard bottom facing in opposite directions (don't get in the way of your fingers at all) and when the gun is cocked you can turn the trigger guard so that the blue cap fits in between one of the gaps on the trigger. The black hand provides a fast way to turn off safety by just pushing it back from underneath the guard to the side again. It doesn't get in the way of the tilter slide so you can load the gun while it's cocked without shooting yourself in the face. Sorry no pictures yet. The video should suffice until I get home from school.

(Update 2.5) I cannot be bothered anymore to put anything else on this gun, so anyone who wants to build this gun form the pics, they are allowed to build and post the mods as long as they credit me. The current stats as it stands: * Range = 40ft with one # 64 band * Powerful * Very easy to use * High ROF * Can be easily adapted for left handed shooters (just build it like the V1 with the panel on the other side) * Fairly reliable with the mags * Handle connection is very strong unless you try to break it deliberately (which means it wont come unattached in wars) * Iron sights are accurate to about 25 to 30ft There are now pics of some internals at the end. Enjoy building and modding if you do decide to do that.

What combination of Ross go furthest e.g. Oodammo, Oodammo with a blue rod instead of white, Oodammo with a yellow rod etc. and which pure knex ammo goes the furthest. I would also like to know how heavy a firing pin I should use for different sizes of ammo e.g. Should a red rod have a heavier pin to fire it further? Or should all ammos have the 'standard pin' (black rod with tan clip and orange connecter all taped up)?
Question by I.E. | last reply
For two years or so before I joined site, I've been building K'nex guns. Here are my two recent weapons of plastic destruction. The Oodammo pistol I built (The D2OP) or (The Dark Owl's Oodammo Pistol's) most interesting feature is that the mag tilts and locks downwards due to friction. It also features: A no rubber banding required trigger. A high mag cap. A comfortable handle (at least for me). Iron sights. The above mentioned magazine. All it needs is a better ram rod; I didn't put much thought into it. Second on the agenda, we have a NAR reminiscent pistol. it, instead of using the NAR transfer, uses my own custom DOT system (Dark Owl Transfer). Yeah, I just made that up now. It sounds good and everything. Wow! Actually, this gun has a name now; it's the DOT Pistol. Funny how this works. Anyways, this transfer is unique not only in its design but in its removability. When you pull down the lock as shown in the pictures, you can take the transfer right out, turning it into a regular single shot if you so chose. It's other features are: Very good range (I haven't tested it, but it goes considerably far with one rubber band). Comfortable Handle (But not as comfortable as the D2OP's in my opinion). Removable hatch DOT system (explained above). Bullet Lock. Sadly, it has no sites, but from what I've heard, not everybody wants them, anyway. Both of these guns are now posted with instructions to all those that are interested: The D2OP: https://www.instructables.com/id/The-D2OP-Dark-Owls-Oodammo-Pistol/ The DOT Pistol: https://www.instructables.com/id/The-DOT-Pistol-Dark-Owls-Transfer-Pistol/
