Has anyone found out a way to perminantly keep all of your temporary files from the "zune pass" program, or at least a way to burn them to disk so you can rip them back on a little while later? thoughts and ideas on how one would do this, post here please.

I just joined your site and posted a video that is actually a part 2 to another one. I would like to post both of them but wanted to be sure it will pass the guidelines. I am not promoting or trying to sell anything. I offer a site for information only. I really wanted to show the entire theme but was not sure. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOy3ejaInEE could you view this and let me know if I would be within your guidelines? I hope I posted correctly to enter your Valentines day contest 2010. I know your busy and I appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you,

Hi, As you know normal speakers (Hi-Fi, cassette players,...) and electric guitar amplifier speakers are different. Apparently guitar ones work in 75Hz to 5KHz frequency range. I want to make a normal speaker to sound as much as possible, like a guitar speaker. after searching on the internet I found that with band-pass or band-stop passive filter I can achieve that. Anyone have any idea how can I do this and if this is going to work or make any difference? Do you have other suggestions (besides buying guitar amp or speakers ) ? Thanks for your help

I'm trying to modify a guitar effects pedal of mine to remove some squeaking and decided that a highpass/low pass combo with some potentiometers to modify the highpass and low pass points (since my pedal emits squeaking at different frequencies on different settings) and I was wondering if I should use a high/low pass with an op amp, capacitors, and resistors - or just a simple resistor and capacitor filter. Does anyone know if either configuration is a detriment to sound quality?

Looking at a crossover inside a speaker box, I see some inductor coils and capacitors. As understand, it seems capacitors are high pass components, and inductors are the low pass components. What is the formula converting frequency in Hz into inductance of the inductor coil and/ or value of the capacitor. (I would be looking for a crossover around 30 - 40 Hz) To me, it seems logical to put this crossover not in the speaker box, but in front of the amplifiers, so the remaining audio spectrum can selectively amplified, which should result in some more power... True? (I see some recommendations for active crossovers, but the theory is way over my head).

So I keep getting free memberships thanks to the guides I'm writing. Heres the problem. I think I have like 8 years built up at this point. I was wondering if I could "gift" one of the free memberships I received today to a student in my class? I've got a code for a 1 year membership and a 3 month membership for the most recent guide I wrote, and I've not redeemed either of them. Just trying to spread the love to a middle school student in oder to encourage him to use the site. Thanks! Joshua

Can anyone provide a link or schematic for an audio low-pass filter with resonance, with the low pass frequency able to be controlled with varying voltage? I'm hoping to make something like the moogerfooger, but I don't need an envelope filter.

I have had troubles with password resets. i am ranting about this because your password re-set tool is off. every time i login i have to reset my password because it says my password has been changed. this happens even if i sign out right after i created a new password. this has happened constantly for the past week. i love this site but my tolerance is being cut short. please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or at least leave a reply so i know someone even reads these. if your tech support contact me or lose a few instructables in the making if this isnt fixed soon. ill explain more if i get at least 1 reply from a pro member or an administrator or from tech support. i was using google chrome o/s windows 7 for everyone else with this problem. i fixed it by the help of someone below. sorry cant remember your name. i fixed it wb going to the tool icon drop down menu>history>edit history>delete all browsing information>check mark all boxes> enter>re-login should work =]

Back in the day - more than thirty years ago - all British children had to sit and pass the "eleven plus" examination.A set of multiple-choice questions, it determined your entire future, because only by passing could you get to a grammar school, and hence to university.Although the 11+ has passed away, there are still 164 grammar schools that can only be entered by passing an exam, and it has recently been revealed that some parents spend as much as 1800GBP to train their children to pass the test.Could you pass?Follow this link to take a short version of the test - the timer is running, you have ten minutes to answer 15 questions.

It's not really a Help question, but I just looked and discovered my view count had passed 100,000! I'd been sort of monitoring this, and a few weeks ago, it was in the low 90s. I had hoped for a little celebration when I reached 100,000, but now that's come and gone! Isn't there a patch or something when you reach this milestone? It's exciting!!

Is there a way to create an ultra-simple low pass filter? Will not be using it for subwoofer, but to split audio and boost the power for audio-synced leds. Is a split at about 15-200 hz any good? or should it be higher/lower. Mostly looking for bass guitar and some drum to go in this area. I am totally non-audio knowleged, and am beginning my circuit building skills, so yes, i need lots of help. Can i hook this in parallel to speakers and will it not affect sound quality? can i use a separate audio (no op-amp) amp to boost power to leds? (such as a .5w amp to leds that consume less than .5w?) or should i find an op-amp. Could i just put the filter on and hook leds up in parallel w/out sound loss? I am getting totally lost. I know this is a LOT to ask of you, but your answers to my previous questions have been very helpful and are greatly appreciated. Thanks for putting up with me :) I wish i could figure this out better, but i am having a hard time. So far example no.1 on this link (about halfway down page) seems to look pretty good. Thanks!!!! http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/filter/filter_2.html

The year is 2054, the human race has endured its biggest and longest war ever leaving the last survivors to fend for them selfs in its wake. To make matters worse, a human designed diseasse has spread, thinning out the last survivors to less than 50.000 people all over the world who happen to be lucky enough to be ressistent to the dissease. There are no more governments, no more borders, no forms of modern society ''at all...'' except for your own rules and moral state of mind. Raw modern resources are almost all used up, maybe a few drops of oil here and there but not enough to be reliable for longterm use at all. City's have burn down to the ground, blasted into the sky or have bin left to decay and rust, there are simply not enough people arround to keep them running. U, yes U are one of the lucky ones to wake up one morning, having your loved ones by your side and you can see the sun come up! Your in a forrest, your car has run dry on fuel, but your alive and kicking! What would you do to survive, build a longterm home and grow out to become a safe haven for "all" who will find your place of refugee? These are the conditions you have that work for you: 1. You are not alone, you have the ones that are closest to you with you all the way. ( ideal situation huh? ) 2. The forrest you are in is huge, deu to the fact humankind has declined in such small numbers, nature hase taken back a lot of groundspace and it is booming! ( again, ideal! ) 3. You have a car, it is broken down, has no more fuel except some fumes, but you have it non the less... ( not so ideal, but still... ) 4. In the trunk you have a tiny solar panel, strong enough to fill your cars battery ( yup, one battery... but its 2054 so the poweroutput is more than enough to help you out in the first stages of building your new home. ) 5. In that same trunk you have sleeping gear for camping, a couple of pots and pans, some basic workingtools and a bundle of paracord, couple of hundred feet in length. ( you like paracord, o yes you dooo... ) 6. You see a chicken in the corner of your eye... your running condition happens to be excellent and so you take a sprint... There's your protein... ( eat the chicken, or keep it for later use? its yours now, so do what you want with it. ) This is whats working against you: 1. Guns are not a good option. All rounds off ammo that where ever made have bin used up. Even your trusty ol .45 lays in the back of your trunk not knowing its own purpose in life anymore... ( so sad... ) 2. City's? gone! Piles of rust and decay are the only things that are waiting for you over there. ( pluss, the bandits roaming the city are not the most happy bunch to cross with. ) 3. Fuel, nope, fumes, yes... ( not much going there... ) 4. Communication devices are out... ( you forgot to pack your radio, and now you have nothing to reach out with... or do you? ) 5. The spot your in is most beautifful, really, its the most beautifull patch of forrest you and all around you have ever seen!!! The gigantic mutated bears and stray wolfs think so too... ( Radition and the human designed diseasse worked toghether in the animal kingdom making these guys grow almost double there original size... see statement 1 for double sadness!!! ) Ok, taking the mutated bears and wolves aside, think outside the box. You have a car, thats something, and these bears and wolves will leave you allone as long as you let them do there thing. And if they dont get hungry enough to eat you ofcourse. ( Its a mutual agreement i guess. ) Im curious to see what you guys come up with, so be my guest and spit it out ;-)

I'm trying to pass a PVC pipe through a plastic lid into a plastic box without leaking water from the pipe or the box. The water in the pipe will be pressurized, while the water in the box will be splashed. A small leak isn't a big deal. Unfortunately, this is also a bit of a stress point, though not terribly. See the picture and the diagram below (which is actually not quite right; the pipe on the top won't be that long; it will turn 90 degrees just above the plastic lid. Any suggestions on how to keep it from leaking? Perhaps make the T under the lid flush with the lid and the same for the elbow joint above it, and then make the hole as small as possible? That wouldn't keep all water out though, but it may work for splashes. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Hi, I wrote a tutorial a few years ago and popped it on youtube with a link to download the supporting files. It looks like one of the instructable 'authors' has taken my code, complete with stupid comments and popped it on here as their own work. I'm not worried about someone building on top of what I made but they appear to be offering little in the way of help to the people asking questions about the instructable and asking for people to vote for them in a challenge? Taking it, improving it and citing the source would be fine, or even taking it and citing the source but this seems to be straight out 'here's some code I wrote' Is there a way to lodge a complaint about this sort of stuff other than emailing info@ Thanks

I am making a device which turns the light in my room on and off. The way I am doing it uses a wireless remote which came with the light, which I control by bypassing the switch with a relay for a quarter second. Any longer than a second and the light starts to dim. I also have an arcade button on a wire spread across my room that, when pressed, bypasses the switch. I know the problem isn't there. The switch has about 4.9 volts running through it when pressed. The problem I have is when the switch is bypassed it STAYS bypassed and the light keeps dimming up and down. Many times when I connect the remote if the light is off it will turn on and then proceed to dim up and down. When the light is dimming (when it isn't suppose to), about 50 micro volts are running through. Could anything electricity be getting through the relay (I know I have the relay put in the right direction, I did a continuity test)? I have checked for short circus with my multimeter and there are none. Is there a way to fix the problem? Possibly a resistor or voltage regulator, or a way to bring up the turn on voltage? Diode Maby???

I'm trying to upgrade the control circuit on my cheap TIG welder. The existing control is a 10k ohm potentiometer, mounted on the welder. It's wired up such that the voltage drop across the pot is proportional to the welders output. Instead of having one knob that controls the output, I want one knob on the welder's panel that selects the maximum output, and another knob ( to be mounted in a foot pedal control) that allows me to select output power from zero up to the maximum value that is set on the panel knob. Seems to me that there should be a relatively simple, elegant solution that gets covered in the second year of an electrical engineering course. Or am I just insane to think that such a thing should be simple? I've tapped out my own social network, and I can't find anyone who will admit to being an electrical engineer. Thanks.

I'm looking to create a desktop touchscreen interface. I've seen the LCD projectors, but I was thinking that instead of creating a projector, just put a stripped LCD similar to an LCD projector: http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/17/how-to-build-your-own-hd-projector-part-1/ underneath an IR display like this: https://www.instructables.com/id/Interactive-Multitouch-Display/ Beneath it all, I would put an IR converted webcam & a lamp. The goal is to make it as compact as possible under the desk. This design hinges upon the IR light from the touch screen passing through the stripped LCD. Thoughts?
