My female dog pees in several spots just off the patio, and the grass has died. Now it is turning to mud since she runs thru those spots with her large paws. In the wet spring this will turn into a mud pit on the way in and out. Is there any thing I can add to her pee spots to make it fertile for the grass instead of a killer? Must be high urea content in the pee. Will pouring some lime or baking soda help? She is a 50 pound pit who loves to run in grass or mud. This must be a common problem. I seem to be constantly blocking off & reseeding sections.
He has been fixed but as soon as he enters our bedroom he goes pee on my husbands side only. I love him too much to find him a different home and I cannot afford vet visits due to no job. If it is a dominance thing my husband thinks that if he pees on the cat then it might make him stop. Could this work?

Because who doesn't want to have blue urine? :PI can remember guzzling food coloring to get the effect, but then I found this. My question is: Will Methyl Blue give the same effect as Methylene Blue? The MSDS says that methyl blue "may be harmful if swallowed," but that pretty much goes for anything. Wikipedia makes a point to say that "Methyl blue should not be confused with methyl violet or methylene blue, two other stains," and so I know that they are different. How much different is the question here.Btw, methyl blue is available at your neighborhood pet store in the aquarium section as brown, granular crystals.

I am trying to think of ways to make solar panels from scratch. I can get phosphorus from pee, silicon can be extracted from the rocks all around me, but I don't have naturally occurring boron nearby. What are some substitutes that can be synthesized from the world without modern factories or laboratories? Furnaces are not out of the question.

This instructable is missing vital, or rather deadly information:https://www.instructables.com/id/Drink-Your-Own-Pee---survival-guide/i posted a comment on it, but i doubt anybody will read it. if it is already contained in the instructable, and i haven't seen it, please forgive me.: HeLLO!!!!! I lnow i am VERY late with this post, and i hope someone still reads it.NEVER DRINK URINE! EVER! WhY? well, for one, fresh urine contains no bacteria, unless you suffer from bad kidney disease, in which case, you probably couldn't pee anymore.so why not drink it? because ALL TOXIC WAIST of your body leaks into your urine. those remain inside this primitive distillation device on the soil ,as mineral salts, the water being evaporated and recondesed on the foil, thus recuperated. so, this thing is basically a sun powered water distillation thingie. in emergency situations, you can distilate your urine by other means too, to drink water out of it. just DON'T DRINK URINE, NOT EVEN BOILED. ESPECIALLY NOT BOILED. the water getting evaporated by boiling, the urine increases the concentration of toxines. you can only boil it up to collect the steams, which condense into water. that's what you wanna drink.

Greetings all, I'm wondering if any of the members ever work in cardboard for children's toys or playhouses ? I'm finishing a belated Xmas gift for my niece, a six sided cardboard tee pee that breaks down into 12 easily stowed sections and fastens with releasable zip-ties. All the material aside from adhesives and said fasteners were recycled from local appliance and furniture retailers so it's a very green eco-friendly item. Should there be any interest I will post the plans and material list at a later time.

Pets, like kids, learn where to pee n poo. Basic courtousy and hygiene. To what degree this is training, or instinct, I dont know. Once in a blue moon, a pet vomts, coughs up hairballs, just about anywhere in the house, or sneezes in one's face. Since these things are much less frequent, training to do em in the litter box, or into a hanky is less likely to take. Kids eventually learn where to go when nauseous, why not so with dogs, cats, etc. Any idea of how to acheive this higher level of consideration?

I have noticed this issue a couple of times and thought that it is some sort of caching issue, I tired deleting the browser cache and at times it worked. Today I also noticed it in IE10 (previously on IE9 as well) that the home page is showing very old ibles everywhere See attached images. What is more interesting that the ible for eco-friendly lamp and also how to make fire using your pee (I had never seen this ible in my life) is repeated everytime and both ibles does not exists. This is surely some datetime stamping problem with these ibles. I could have taken it as a caching issue on my browser but It is not.

I don't know what or how much money would be involved, but I don't think i can buy a normal house and i'm tired of apartments. I know it's possible to do this, but i don't know where to start. When I think of my dream home, I always picture all garage/work space and no real house. I spend most of my time working on a car, with DIY projects, Halloween experiments, and painting. I only come inside to sleep, pee, and eat. If I had something as big as a warehouse or old grocery store, I could live lofty in the top half and drive right in the bottom. It would be perfect. How do i do that? How much money do i need? what legalities would i face?

Here is the deal, I've got what basically amounts to an indoor fish pond about 2 and a half feet away from my bed. It's got a filter made from a rubbermaid tub that sits on a shelf next to it, water is pumped up from the tank, into the filter, then out the top where it pours down a pair of PVC tubes back into the water, about 3 feet below it. My problem is that when the water splashing in the bottom of the pipes sounds just like someone is peeing, beside my head, all night, every night. it;s a bit of a nuisance. My first thought would be to shorted the distance between the filter and the water level, but i cant fill the tub to the capacity it was meant for(300 gal) without it falling through the floor, and i don't want to have to explain why i dropped 300 gallons of water and turtles on my neighbors bedroom to them or the management. My second thought was to build a stand in the tank for the filter and lower the filter, but there isn't enough room in the tank for that. So, throughts, ideas, anyone?

This has been troubling me a bit: After watching Comic Strip Presents - Complete Collection [DVD] (I got it from HMV) I wondered about a segment from Mr Jolly Lives Next Door - In the film, the pair Mayall & Edmonson order 1,574 (large) Gin and tonics in a "traditional old-English illegal-drinking establishment" called The Neon Tee Pee. (Script can't be found, or un-blocked video clips any more) The thought occurred to me "How much did one large G&T; cost then?" We know that they had no money at all before receiving a brown envelope stuffed with bank notes. The brown envelope should have contained £3000 and I'll assume that it did. In being exact about the quantity of G&Ts;, I conclude that they knew exactly how much money they had, and how much the drink cost. If follows that all the £3000 was counted, why leave any in the van if you're going for that much alcohol? Later the £3000 is acknowledged, but 2 pound notes remain. At a maximum of £2998, 1574 G&Ts; work out at £1.90 each which sounds reasonable for 1983. But that leaves £7.40, and the £2 of course. What did they do with the £7.40, what was the £2 for, why did they not ask for 1578? Cigarettes? And if so, how many? Or is there some special significance to 1574? L

I kept hearing KEY...KEY...KEY... So I ventured out thinking it was some bird, I'm looking all over and keep hearing it. Search all over the yard, check the garage (it's trapped a bird before), nothing. But I keep hearing it, maybe it's coming from across the street? Man there's a lot of crap in the street, and it's moving, OH CRAP!! There's a squirrel dray in the street all torn up and three bloody, wet babies in the road. So I scoop them up into my robot shirt, where they promptly pee, not the worst thing I've had on me. ;-) I rush into the house and call my vet, since he used to rehab flying squirrels, and get the # for the "local" rehab place. It's in Bithlo, twenty miles away, that won't mean anything to you if you don't live in Fl. but it's the West Virginia of Fl, the nightmare before Christmas, and Baghdad all rolled into one. Let's cut this short, I got them there, the guy says they're in better shape than they looked, I gave them a donation for their care, and now I'm back home, realizing I'm nicer than I am reasonable, and that's okay with me...

This is a modification of the sling shot prototype made by Katarukito's (I hope i spelt that right) knex prototype sling shot knex gun. It can pierce cardboard at fifteen feet away with one band and twenty to thirty feet away with two rubberbands (UNSHARPENED BULLET) I modified the barrel with a new barrel, that may look ugly but if you want i can take off the blue and red connectors that make the humps/ scales of what i call... Dragon Head Knex Gun DHKG well i didn't intend on putting those there but it turned out as a dragon and well, i went with it... the barrel doesn't bend and when or if i do post it, all credits go to Katarukito! Enjoy! Sorry for the blurry pictures it was night time and i had to pee like a race horse... I have two dogs. One is a mini poodle that behaves very well. My other dog is an estimated 7-8-ish mostly puggy mix that we got much more recently. She's the one we have trouble with. I don't know what her life was like before we got her because she was found wandering the desert outside of the shelter we bought her from. I know that its likely she was well cared for because she had incredibly soft fur and pure white teeth. However, for the first couple months of having her she was extremely skittish. If someone entered the room she'd bolt outside. (dog door) Over the course of a several weeks I got her to trust me. Since then I have confirmed that while she is a bit skittish she is a very loving and good dog by the standard of she wants to please. Now for the specific problem. She piddles on the floor, and quite often on anything cloth that has been left on the floor and most especially on anything soft in the rearmost areas of the house. She started shortly after she arrived but seemed to stop when she got more used to the place and learned the use of the dog door. Then she started again, just briefly, and stopped again. She seems to have started again but with bigger puddles. With previous dogs I always tried the traditional method of stick their nose in it swat them on the bum and take them outside to show them where they're supposed to do it and it always worked. This is much more difficult with Ellen because of her reactions. If I grab her collar she loses her mind. She starts by dropping to the ground, giving me deadweight, and if I don't let go immediately she starts screaming like a banshee and twisting. She is a small dog, maybe 25 pounds, but it's all muscle. During one attempt to show her the site of her wrongdoing she twisted hard and managed to catch and break my finger. I hold no grudge for this but as I don't want to repeat this I am asking for advice here. Ask any questions, I'll try to answer. I could really use some advice.

I got this e-mail from my mom, Enjoy. How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb? 1. Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb? 2. Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code. 3. Dachshund: You know I can't reach that stupid lamp! 4. Rottweiler: Make me. 5. Boxer: Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark. 6. Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please! 7. German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation 8. Jack Russell Terrier: I'll just pop it in while I'm bouncing off the walls and furniture. 9. Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb! 10. Cocker Spaniel: Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark. 11. Chihuahua : Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Or "We don't need no stinking light bulb." 12. Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares? 13. Australian Shepherd: First, I'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle... 14. Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry. How many cats does it take to change a light bulb? Cats do not change light bulbs. People change light bulbs. So, the real question is: "How long will it be before I can expect some light, some dinner, and a massage?" ALL OF WHICH PROVES, ONCE AGAIN, THAT WHILE DOGS HAVE MASTERS, CATS HAVE STAFF! It had pictures, but I can't figure out how to get them off my e-mail. If anyone knows how tell me please, and i'll repost with pictures.

I am in the process of building a proper spot welder from scratch. Proper more in terms of the electrical and electronics part but not so much in looks ;) My problem now is to find useful info on what power levels are required for certain tasks. I realise that welding thin sheet metal won't need as much time and amps as welding a 3mm stainless steel rod - but what is a "good" power level? I watched a bunch of Youtube videos showing various approaches but for many it seems the producer had no clue about the difference between creating a short with burn marks and a weld... Especially when it comes to creating battery packs with a capacitor bank as the main power provider you can clearly see the device burns holes but does not really create a welded spot. On the other hand there are a few videos showing spot welder made from a MOT that seem to produce a proper melted and welded connection. When I used a proper spot welder at work it had timing settings, power levels and even a feature to adjust how the current rises.... Not to mention a gauge that checks the pressure and only activates the welder once the set point is reached... There is a ton of info out there that after a thausand words still tells you nothing you need to know :( So is there anyone here who can shed some light on the actual process of spot welding in easy words for everyone to follow? I am aiming for a max output of around 400A @ 1.5 -2.5V with an adjustable shunt in the transformer core to avoid oversaturating the core. In a later stage I will add power control over the primary side but until then it is only time control, from a few ms to a max of 5sec if the damn controller arrives one day. Big questions: 1. Is a power control really required or is it possible to cater from thin to thick just by using different timing settings? 2. Since a MOT is used for the power supply: Is it better to leave the shunts out to fully avoid saturation by adding an inductor in line with the primary or is it still better to adjust the shunts under load to get the maximum power possible? 3. Aluminium and other materials benefit from using AC but would be good to have a DC output too, if so then what materials really need DC? 4. All I could find is that copper is used for the electrodes, due to resistance and heat transfer - are there other options apart from using copper? 5. Tricky one: I would prefer to use the secondary winding as the new primary to avoid core saturation and to lower the load on the power outlet. Where can I find very thin copper bar material that I can coil up and insulate as I would quite a few more turns to get at least 1.5V out of it? Just don't like the idea of spending days rolling a copper bar thin enough.... For the advanced model at a much later stage: Of course I would like to be able to use a proper power control instead of a motor dimmer or similar. For obvious reasons an inverter microwave jumps to mind. But after checking one I noticed one big problem: there are not really that many windings on the primary of the transformer at all! Same way our modern switchmode power supplies only use a few turns these things do exactly the same. After some quick and dirty initial tests I realised that even a single turn of thick wire already results in over 20V on the secondary. Wasted a lot of wire and time making one coil with 5 turns less and one with 10 turns less but the system would not even start with it. Seems these things need a fixed inductivity on the primary that matches the frequency used, in my case 36kHz. Would love to overcome this problem so I can at least go down to a single turn to get under 5V on the output side as space is non existing on these inverters. Can I cheat? Do I need to change the circuit to match the new primary coil? Am I thinking in the wrong direction altogether here? And added bonus would be to be able to adjust the power from around 15% to 100%, so far the electronics don't allow anything below 45%. Is it possible to drive these inverters in resonance? (Ok, off topic as I would like to use this for a beefy HV supply) Last thoughts: I know people already used Arduinos and Raspberries with displays and all but so far I have not found anything that shows how to do it properly. Seems all that counts is to create connection one way or the other and to call it a spot weld even if it is just a burn hole from discharging a capacitor bank through a needle like electrode.... For obvious reasons I don't want to create just another spot welder that makes a professional pee himself laughing about it. IMHO nothing beats personal experience with something but I don't really like wasting my time by trying what other people alread did a long time ago. So if YOU already built a MOT based spot welder and used for more than a few spots I would love to hear from you! Let me know what type you used, what problems or shortcomings you noticed or where you feel it just does not work out the way you expected it. From simple things like always getting bad sparks or arcing, over how easy or hard it is to get consistand results to whatever really annoys you while using your homemade spot welder. I hope that your feedback here will help me to write an Instructable on building a spot welder that does what you expect it to do, not once or twice, but everytime you use it. Mechanics might vary the same way the electrode style does but the weld should always be a proper weld that won't tear apart ;)
