What are the best iPhone data plans in Portugal and Spain?

I will be traveling in Portugal and Spain (attending the OFFF 2009 Conference) and would like to use my unlocked 2G iPhone to check email and check Instructables. I am currently an AT&T; subscriber, but their international data plans are too expensive -- $.0195/KB or so. Are there providers in Portugal and Spain that will allow me to buy a month's worth of unlimited data usage for a reasonable price?

39% and climbing - renewable resources in Portugal.

In the UK, less than 5% of our electricity comes from "green", renewable resources. In Portugal, they generate 39% of their power with renewables, and that is set to climb. These red "snakes" - the Pelamis wave-power system - are built in the UK (but guess which government hasn't invested in them?), and Portugal is also investing heavily in wind, solar and hydro-electricity.Link to photo storyIf one of the poorest countries in Europe can manage this, why can't the rest of us?

Bike Ramp for Stairs

While visiting Lisbon, Portugal for OFFF 2009, I saw this bike ramp on a flight of stairs. I often carry my bike up and down stairs to train and subway stations, and would love to see more of these ramps around town.

can I use a MOSFET, N, TO-220FP STP4NK60ZFP instead of a MOSFET N-CH 100V 12A TO-220AB? Answered

I'm making a stepper motor driver (link here) and it asks for MOSFET N-CH 100V 12A TO-220AB but I live in Portugal, and in my area there is only one electronics shop, which as only MOSFET, N, TO-220FP STP4NK60ZFP. in case you want to know I will use 24v 600mA in my stepper motors.

what is a decent price for an anvil?

The anvil I'm thinking of buying is quite small, only 5kg (11.something lbs) and looks to be steel. what would be the minimum price for an anvil of this size, and is it worth it?(I plan on smithing small blades) any help would be useful, but I live in Portugal, so please don't say that there's a really cheap anvil in (insert American mega-store name here), you will hurt my feelings by being insensitive

Art Contest: Win an Instructables Book!

We need art for a book and since we think that the Instructables community has plenty of talent and ideas we thought that this is the perfect opportunity for a contest. The theme of the contest is Fail Gracefully. Read on more more details.Eric Wilhelm, our glorious CEO of infinite repute, has been invited to go and talk at OFFF in Portugal in May. As an invited speaker he also gets to supply some art for the event catalog. The theme is Fail Gracefully and the idea is to embrace mistakes in your efforts. Here's their own description:"THIS ISN'T FLYING. THIS IS FALLING WITH STYLE" Be afraid of perfection. Dare to do wrong. Make mistakes. Enjoy 404. Reject everything you know and jump. Try to fly. There is no such thing as failure, but experience. No mistakes, but mistaken views. Errors? We call them acieeed(sp). So the last sentence is a bit confusing, but you get the idea. We're giving away a copy of The Best of Instructables, Volume 1 for the best piece of art and the possibility of being published in the catalog. How to enter - To enter your art, just attach it to a comment in this forum post. - The art needs to be printable so make sure that you have a copy that is high-res. - By high-res we mean 300 dpi - The attachment can be low-res - Enter by March 12th, 2009

Need HELP with project 30Kva induction heater

Hi. I am Paulo from Portugal. I am trying to build that 30Kva from instructables.com but i need some help. I tryed to contact Mr Wang with no sucess. I have some amateur knowledge about electronics only. I need that machine to melt some exotic steel. It seems you are familiar with that 30kva project. Can someone help me with some answers? I would be grafeful.I already read several times that instructions and to start my first questions are: 1)What for and where connect that 4-position rotary connector? 2) what the exact specs of the main capacitors? About capacitors i found throught ebay the square black box connected on first IGVT is a snubber with specs 20uF and 800V - where to find this one? At ebay only 2nd hand... The other capacitor at the 2nd IGVT can read at scheme specs are 920uF - But how many volts?? - where to buy? And the last one of tank circuit same problem - Can read at scheme is a 3.75uF and also a "high-quality polypropylene or mica giant snubber capacitor" - How many volts?? - Where to buy? I really would apreciate your help if possible. My contact is vfr998@gmail.com . Thanks in advance and best regards. Paulo. Hope to listen from you soon.

European Voluntary Service in Netherlands

European Voluntary Service (EVS) is an Erasmus+ program for young people (17-30 years old) who want to spend a long time living in a different country and with almost all the cost paid: apartment, wifi, transport, food... Bataviawerf (Lelystad, Netherlands) is a dockyard with special ambitions. Ships from the golden century which has been important in our maritime history, are reconstructed here. Our organisation is depending on the work of volunteers for some years already. A lot of foreign volunteers helped to build the ship “Batavia” and are now helping to build the new ship “Het water schip”. The Bataviawerf could not exist without the help of numerous volunteers which help in showing everybody the way of building ships in the 17th century. We are seeking for 3 new EVS with the next profile: Tasks Create technical drawings, finish the 3D Digital Model of the Batavia, create nice videos and photos about the Bataviawerf and handwork (rebuild some parts of the Batavia -mast, yards, etc.-, forge, wood work,...) Criteria Technical background with knowledge about SolidWorks, AutoCad and similar or experienced in graphic, digital and multimedia design (Adobe Premiere, InDesign, etc). Also creative, self-motivated and interested in shipbuilding and handwork. Procedure If you are interested and you think your profile is suitable for one of our tasks, send us your CV and a motivation letter to the email: evsbataviawerf@gmail.com More information We are seeking for 3 new European volunteers for the next periods: 1) From August 2016 to August 2017. 2) From September 2016 to September 2017. 3) From December 2016 to December 2017.
